Best galbi-tang I’ve had in LA!

Shilla KBBQ is hands-down one of the best Korean BBQ spots in Gardena! The quality of the food here blows AYCE places out of the water. The Shilla Woodae Rib is my favorite. The banchan is all made fresh daily, the handmade dumplings are crispy, and the nangmyun is the most refreshing end to the meal. Plus, they finish things off with complimentary kimchi fried rice! Service is excellent, the staff grills everything for you at the table, so you can just relax and enjoy. The atmosphere has a charming old-school feel, and you can tell this place has been a local favorite for decades. Highly recommend if you’re craving authentic, high-quality KBBQ!

Very good service. The server was very courteous and polite, food is good quality and would recommend the pork belly. Food does not stick to the cooking pan too which is something that is refreshing to happen. I would recommend for dates, gatherings, and parties.

The food is fantastic. It's more of a family style or for couples to enjoy a meal. The dining area has a very cozy atmosphere, but at the same time it's always buzzing with people telling you everyone is having a good time. The employees who attend to you will ask if it's your first time or repeat customer, which they want to make sure you are not struggling with what you order and how your table setup is at best to your advantage. Let's say the table I had was a little small and I accidentally ordered a lot. Be advised that parking is very limited inside the enclosed parking lot. If no parking, unfortunately you have to park a little farther away but worth the wait. Also, book a reservation because my first visit was caught with a lot of restaurant traffic.

Perfect place for delicious korean food and amazing friendly service! We came to celebrate my stepdad's birthday, and the whole experience was perfect. We've been coming here for years, and the food is always great. My mom and I love mulnaengmyeon (cold noodles), and my stepdad's go-to is bulgogi (kbbq beef). Our server Jessica was very sweet and attentive, and Shane was very kind and helpful as well. They both sang "happy birthday" with us (bilingual performance!) and brought cake. Definitely gotta come here for your birthday. And lunch. And dinner. Every day. Love this place!

Known for their pork belly, this KBBQ differentiates itself by using a cast-iron cook top instead of the more common open flame grill. This results in more evenly cooked food and nearly no smoke. Food is cooked for you by your server, unless you really want to do it yourself. I like this because it gives you time to hang out and talk instead of having to moderate your time. The ban-chan is incredible and the food just keeps coming! Make sure you save some room for the fried rice at the end (it soaks up all of the juices and caramelized bits from the food). Cheese corn, fish cakes, and bean sprouts are just some of the included sides that will keep you munching while a new batch of meat cooks. 6 of us split 2 bottles of soju, 3-750ml beers, 4 orders of pork belly, and 2 orders of pork neck. Came out to be around $50 each. Worth every damn penny, needed to be rolled out of the restaurant. Make sure you go!

We, including our granddaughter Milani, dined at a place we would always pass by but had never tried before. Shilla Korean BBQ in Gardena is excellent and has been there since 1991. We had the BP-B combo which included Mugi Fuji pork belly, Mugi Fuji fresh pork collar, and Prime marinated Kalbi beef. This includes an assortment of the sides you see on the table, corn and cheese, steamed rice, two types of Kim chee, tofu paste soup, and steamed scrambled eggs (fluffy like a pillow). I highly recommend this place!

It was easy to get seated on a Friday afternoon (5pm) for a party of 4 people. Our waitress was very professional and attentive. The food was amazing, we got the beef combo and did not regret it. The meat was tender and flavorful and the bulgogi which was also delicious. Overall very good and I would recommend to any BBQ fan.

The beef tartare is some of the best I’ve had, and my friend from Korea said it’s better than the ones he’s had in Korea. The kbbq is great too, but if you are willing to go out on a limb, try some of the dishes that aren’t kbbq. Everything I tried was AMAZING. I loved the spicy octopus stir fry in the stone bowl. Nostalgic dish for me and incredibly well done here, just like my mom’s cooking but less spicy. It’s not too spicy so it’s very approachable. I think I found a really good restaurant. We ordered beef brisket, sirloin steak, and pork belly, all three were delicious, but among them, pork belly was really good. And after eating all the meat, they also stir-fried rice on an iron plate, which was fantastic. It was good value for money for 2 people. I will visit again with my family next time. This spot is AMAZING!! We came here (2 men and 1 lady) to eat a combo deal and the waitress cooked all our food 🥘 for us all we did was sit and eat. Not many KOREAN BBQ PLACES DO THIS FOR YOU, she cooked everything for us. The meat was delicious from the beef to chicken . Many of us know it is very hard to find great Korean bbq places; the meat was fresh and not slimy, they allowed us to bring in our own drink 🍹 (not alcoholic ) since they don't have many teas, and their prices are very reasonable !!! May good money for great customer service and quality : it can be a little cheaper but overall well. It's supper quiet and lonely so parking is not an issue. Check them out if your in the area and ask about their combo deals

It's good food but just don't go hungry. It was over 10 minutes before we got a waiter and almost a half hour before we got any food. Considering there were only about 10 other people in there didn't think I should take that long

Meats were very good 👍 ... a bit pricey but worth it I guess, our firsttime trying KBBQ... only thing I didn't like was that the waitress was hurrying us up to pay and leave because they were closing... if a customer is still eating and ordering, than that's more business for them.. they could of waited 15-20 minutes for us to finish.. we got there at 830 and had to leave but 950pm they closed at 10pm... oh well it was an experience.

Ok... I had been wanting to try this place for a while as I often eat KBBQ! The pros: the meat is fresh and of good quality, the side dishes are tasty as well The cons: the price is very expensive (200 for 2) for what you get and we had to ask multiple times for salt, been other places that were wayyyyy cheaper that came with a better setup imo. The lady was nice, although there was a bit of a language barrier. She seemed like she could have used some help aka shortstaffed.

Considering the price to quality ratio, this is one of my least liked kbbq I've been to. The food wasn't horrible, it's actually better than many AYCE kbbq places, but the price didn't make it worth it. (I only tried the beef selections) The side dishes on the other hand - missing a lot of my favorites, and many were bland. The dining area is nice and spacious. Even if the place was packed, it wouldn't seem as crowded as other places. Probably the and only good thing about this place. Service was way under staffed. Considering there's so many other choices for kbbq in the area, I would be hard pressed to choose this place to eat again. Maybe some of the other meats would be better.... I don't think I'll ever find out.

I usually eat at all you can eat, so this was a first time new experience. They offer different sets that include different meat items and side items you can buy for your table. The sets will cost you $80 and up.The amount of meat that they provide for the set is ok, i could usually eat way more but if you want to purchase more of one meat its going to cost $20-$30. For that case, id rather eat at an all you can eat. The water tasted like chlorine. The set we got included an egg soup. Thought it would be one egg for each person, but it was 1 for the entire group. Very dissatisfying. Service was not great, had to constantly flag someone down to get more water or sides, even tho it was just 4 or 5 groups of people eating here. If it was busy id understand. Parking is provided, although if you cant find a spot, there is street residential parking available.

I love Korean BBQ! To be honest I was really hyped up to eat here since this whole Covid pandemic. I have to give it a 2 star. 1.The reason why is because of the price was extremely expensive for not being able to get enough meat for 4 people that I had dinner with! 2. The customer service was horrible we were literally sitting down for 20 minutes before the waiter stopped by to ask us what we wanted, she stopped just to give us the menu and then left again. We Literally needed to wave her down for her to come and get our order and We had to remind her that we needed drinks! 3. After they brought us the food The waiter didn't even bring all the condiments that come with it and she still forgot to bring us our drinks. I don't know if it's a custom but they always filled up our water cups halfway.

Food was ok and service was ok as well, super over priced, but ok. What I didn't like was the fact that it was only 2 of us and after a almost $300 bill they tried to force us to give them a tip and even had the audacity to follow us to the parking lot. I was going to leave a tip. But the way the lady asked was uncalled for. I hope the owner reads this and does something about it. Now I see why the place was empty.

Don’t come to this restaurant! It is not all you can eat the staff get mad when you ask for rice paper! They wanted to charge me $4 just to get more rice paper. I paid $85 for 3 pieces of meat and the portions are super small. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Don’t go here. You WILL be sorry. Way over priced. Bland food. Rude inattentive staff especially to non-Korean customers. The worst experience I think I’ve had in California during all the time we’ve been eating out here. We won’t go back. And you shouldn’t go at all.We were sooooo uncomfortable here. Wish we had ran from this place instead of going in for what they offered. Rip off! I encourage people to take cameras to this place they blatantly push the line toward discrimination if not crossing it. Read the Yelp reviews. I hope someone sues this place. We won’t go back so it won’t be us. But take your camera, we filmed our episode just in case we needed the evidence. Dude calling himself a manager/owner tried showing us invoices for his purchases for the place after we complained about their old and stale flat beer served with our meal. Nothing is worst than old flat Sapporo! We demanded they deduct that cost from our meal - which we wouldn’t nor could consume. The creepy owner manger dude repeatedly insulted us and threatened to call someone on us. Actually he called someone and demanded we speak to them on his sweaty phone which was just taken from his ear. We refused and held our ground till they deducted $$$ from our total bill and we left. You don’t need this hassle. I hope they get shut down or sued for an awful lot of money. Stay away! You’ve been warned. Note to creepy Shilla BBQ manager dude, being rude and ignorant is no cover for trying to rip folks off. Not the American way in my opinion, it’s the way of a bad con artist and wanna be bully. Didn’t work on us did it?

Went last night and the server was rude, I came in about 2.5hrs before closing and it seemed like they didn't want to serve us, wanted us to hurry and eat...we only got 1 round of meat and little to no table service. Even after that she( our server) asked for a tip...paid $110 for 2 people. Never again.

Not worth spending time here. There are plenty of better Korean option. Meager portion and quality. If you come here with 2 people, you won't be able to try several kinds of cuts for a reasonable price. "Seafood" tofu soup was a joke. I didn't see any piece of seafood in the soup.

Use to go here every now and then when kang ho dong had too long of a wait. Went tonight and their pricing has become insane for mediocre Korean bbq. Avoid unless you want to over pay. Check out moon down the street for better quality and all you can eat

Worst service for new costomers. Lowest quality meat and foods. Goos parking lot control. Overall: if you wanted to waste your $$ , try eat at this restaurant. But you should keep it mind one thing. They are not a typical korean restaurant in the southern CA. Way far below average. Good luck

I don’t know how this place has such high reviews. The quality of the meats is terrible and the prices… phew!!! Ridiculous prices. Barely any banchan on our plates terrible services. Ever coming again.

This place was not it…more overpriced than other KBBQ restaurants and unfortunately, the service was pretty bad. We ordered a $130 combo for a group of three. We came in knowing we wanted good quality KBBQ but the meat was okay and servers never came to check up. I pretty much cooked the meat and even had to ask the server to lower the fire or our meats were gonna get burnt. The combo comes with kimchi fried rice at the end and we barely got any rice…it was just straight up kimchi as the server was cooking it on the stove lol. Pretty disappointing.

Korean BBQ is supposed to be good and inexpensive. We had an incredible bill of 230$ per couple without alcohol. We got completely ripped off. Beef was not good, pork was ok, shrimp were good. Service was pushy and in a hurry. The place was so cold that we had to keep the jackets. Yet we smelled like food a lot. Was it worth the price? Not at all. Will I go back? Never!

NEVER WILL I VISIT THIS PLACE AGAIN. $763 for 8 people!!!! We didn’t get the service we would have liked! They were very surprised when we asked for rice for all of us, potatoe salad and hot sauce! They would ask us again “for all of you”?! All surprised. What do they expect when they give one small scoop for 8 people?!? They took forever to give us the food, and the sides. The service was not great and mandatory service charge of 18%. The servers attitude was terrible. They would give us water half filled and be upset when we would ask for more. Never visiting again and not worth the price!!!

Expensive $190 minimum for combos. No AYCE

Family of 3 ordered a small combo bbq with 2 bottles of beer. We expect to pay around $150.00. The server repeated in front of us, "yes, a small combo bbq". After chewing the toughest beef we've ever tasted, the restaurant charged over $200.00. When we call the same server to confirm the amount, she said " You order a large combo bbq !!!". There wasn't the way to verify a small from large combo at the table. Hmmmm.. Have I seen this drama before?? Not likely to go back.

Absolutely horrible service and insanely expensive for no reason. The worker was mad for us asking 1 potatoe salad per person which it is literally one tablespoon worth of food. And they charges us 18% mandatory tip for their horrible service. Would never come back don’t come here unless you want to get ripped off. And sake was insanely expensive.

This was one of the last of a bygone era of Los Angeles having the best Korean restaurants. I’m so sad because even though this place was expensive I thought it was worth it because the food was usually good and side dishes were good. The service from mostly was outstanding if the usual little ladies were there. Must be an owner change or management?????? Different and not in a good way. We sat down and the waiters were arguing and seemed disgruntled…….we didn’t see the usual faces as servers so that was a BIG sign so we fled fast. Just went again yesterday to check it out and same weird situation and no one in there???? Bad sign bc word got out. Los Angeles is turning into a restaurant graveyard. Time to move outta this place.

I got sick after eating at your restaurant tonight. The marinated beef dish made me feel ill immediately. It was over-seasoned to mask old, freezer-burned beef. I had to run to the bathroom to vomit right after eating it. Our server, who was barely present throughout the meal, tried to blame my condition on something unrelated before I even got to the restaurant. I felt fine until I ate that dish. My body instantly rejected the food. We were forced to leave in the middle of our Korean BBQ service because I was so unwell. The worst part was the attitude of the server, and possibly the owner, acting like it wasn’t the food. Even without the food poisoning, the meat quality was poor and not as advertised. I’m genuinely shocked at how you’re still in business.

Very misleading menu. It is NOT AYCE. Portions are way too small for its price. Quality wasn’t as great. Parents ordered ramen just to go on the thrifty side, it didn’t have an egg like it does on the menu picture. Service was okay, I didn’t have a problem. Just the misleading menu.
