Excellent service,Jay is super friendly and has great customer service. the food was delicious
Best Korean BBQ in town. Everything is so delicious.
I recommend this place. First time here...Take-out only right now... Food: Marinated meat/Beef Bulgogi lunch pack w/white rice, steamed dumplings w/veg and pork, fried w/veg and pork. Miso soup is good too. Pros: Food is good👍👍 Cons: They don't speak english well but still got my order right 👍👍
Very yummy authentic Korean food! Great experience and great service :)
Known for their pork belly, this KBBQ differentiates itself by using a cast-iron cook top instead of the more common open flame grill. This results in more evenly cooked food and nearly no smoke. Food is cooked for you by your server, unless you really want to do it yourself. I like this because it gives you time to hang out and talk instead of having to moderate your time. The ban-chan is incredible and the food just keeps coming! Make sure you save some room for the fried rice at the end (it soaks up all of the juices and caramelized bits from the food). Cheese corn, fish cakes, and bean sprouts are just some of the included sides that will keep you munching while a new batch of meat cooks. 6 of us split 2 bottles of soju, 3-750ml beers, 4 orders of pork belly, and 2 orders of pork neck. Came out to be around $50 each. Worth every damn penny, needed to be rolled out of the restaurant. Make sure you go!
First time being there and we ❤️ it. VERY friendly and lovely family owned restaurants I love that they have an couple's and group menu for one price. They cook the meat in front... and yes the have different selection of meat and huge varieties of sides that come with it. Everything fresh and hot. This will be me and my fiance go to spot for date night. We never had grilled 🌽 and grilled 🧀 before. It was great.
Food was among the server was super kind and friendly, the salad and combo BD was amazing and plenty for a family of 5.
Me and my family have been to a lot of Korean bbqs but this one is the best, everything tastes exceptional and what made the experience so much better was the excellent customer service, J is amazing!
This restaurant offers a delightful meal that combines comfort and inclusivity. The friendly hostess helped me choose a sauce for my first hot pot, making everyone in my party feel at home.
We, including our granddaughter Milani, dined at a place we would always pass by but had never tried before. Shilla Korean BBQ in Gardena is excellent and has been there since 1991. We had the BP-B combo which included Mugi Fuji pork belly, Mugi Fuji fresh pork collar, and Prime marinated Kalbi beef. This includes an assortment of the sides you see on the table, corn and cheese, steamed rice, two types of Kim chee, tofu paste soup, and steamed scrambled eggs (fluffy like a pillow). I highly recommend this place!
It was easy to get seated on a Friday afternoon (5pm) for a party of 4 people. Our waitress was very professional and attentive. The food was amazing, we got the beef combo and did not regret it. The meat was tender and flavorful and the bulgogi which was also delicious. Overall very good and I would recommend to any BBQ fan.
I can’t believe I just found out about this place. This is such a legit spot for Korean food. I’m talking authentic, hard to find dishes that I haven’t had in years. Everything I had is excellent. The beef tartare is some of the best I’ve had, and my friend from Korea said it’s better than the ones he’s had in Korea. The kbbq is great too, but if you are willing to go out on a limb, try some of the dishes that aren’t kbbq. Everything I tried was AMAZING. I loved the spicy octopus stir fry in the stone bowl. Nostalgic dish for me and incredibly well done here, just like my mom’s cooking but less spicy. It’s not too spicy so it’s very approachable. It’s a full service restaurant so they cook all the kbbq for you. Our server was just the cutest and nicest lady ever. What a lovely small business to support!
I had an absolutely fantastic dining experience at Shilla Korean BBQ from start to finish. The food was outstanding—high-quality meats, perfectly marinated, and incredibly flavorful. Everything was fresh, well-presented, and cooked to perfection, making every bite memorable. The atmosphere really elevated the experience. The restaurant strikes the perfect balance between lively and comfortable, with a warm vibe that makes it great for both group dinners and special nights out. What truly made the night exceptional was our server, Jay. Jay was attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming, explaining the menu clearly and making sure our table was taken care of without ever feeling rushed. His professionalism and friendly attitude added a personal touch that made the experience even better. Highly recommend Shilla Korean BBQ—I’ll definitely be back!
Had an amazing dinner here last night! The vibe is energetic and fun, making it the perfect spot for small and large groups. The staff truly went above and beyond to make our night special—they were attentive, fast, and incredibly friendly. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. It’s more than just a meal; it’s a full experience. Highly recommend!
Incredible locale easy parking and the plentiful and varied menu offering multiple choices from beef to pork to seafood incredibly friendly staff but incredibly recommend to anybody looking to take somebody on a date 10 out of 10:00 would come again!!!
I've been coming to Shilla periodically for the past 25 years. It's one of the long standing mom and pops that are still around after all these years and the quality is still top notch! It's also one of the few places that still cooks on a stone grill top. We stopped by for a birthday meal around 5:00PM on a Sunday because I was craving marinated galbi and beef rib with a great helping of banchan. We were promptly seated with no wait. The aunties are always super sweet and welcoming. They cook the meat for you as well! The sides are fresh, delicious and I always get a refill because it's that good! Don't forgot the kimchi fried rice at the end. They sang me a sweet birthday song along with a slice of cheesecake. Looking forward to coming back when I get another hankering of for high let quality cuts of kbbq meats.
WOW the service here is amazing! all the ajummas and servers were super attentive and made sure we were well fed throughout the entirety of the meal. loved the variety in side dishes! pricey menu but good quality meat! the short rib and beef brisket was my favorite. best part? they cook it to perfection for you! i loved the kimchi friend rice, steamed egg and soup that was included! spacious interior! a lot of seating especially for bigger groups/parties. definitely will be back when im in the area
Would you guys eat raw beef!? Shilla off the 405 near LAX is the perfect spot for korean food. They have milk tea and great $17.99 lunch specials including bibimbap, galbi tang, and even house made cold noodles. And the ajummas and ajusshis are in the back cooking up everything so you know it’s going to be good. My favorite is their yukaejang or spicy beef noodle soup. So tender with a kick enjoy.
We came in for a bite to eat. Was greeted by the hostess and host. We were seated immediately and had help ordering which ended up saving us money. We got their 3 meat option with Brisket, Bulgogi and thinly sliced pork belly The meat quality is very good The portion sizes are good The price is ok because it's California and the food quality is good Service was very good
The food here is AMAZING!!!! Great quality of meat. I love the service here the staffs came and made the fried rice into the heart shape for us.
If you're looking for Korean barbecue in a cozy environment, this is it. At Shilla, the ahjummas (Korean ladies) will cook the meats for you and are always encouraging you to eat more XD Now that we're heading into a chilly winter this year, I wanna make sure ya'll have this spot saved for your LA food bucket list. The quality of all their meats is just unparalleled—the ladies will literally pick off the excess fat when they're cooking while making sure every cut is grilled to perfection. And this is the perfect place for family-style sharing so you can try a little bit of everything, like seafood ramen and galbi tang (beef short rib soup). I loooved their seafood pancake and would absolutely go back just for this! And you know their food is made with love when their kimchi fried rice is cooked right in front of you in a heart...so freakin' adorable. Thanks for reading! ^-^
I think I found a really good restaurant. We ordered beef brisket, sirloin steak, and pork belly, all three were delicious, but among them, pork belly was really good. And after eating all the meat, they also stir-fried rice on an iron plate, which was fantastic. It was good value for money for 2 people. I will visit again with my family next time. The people who work were also very kind.
Jessica is the sweetest and was very accommodating with some of our dietary restrictions! We loved the authentic korean cuisine cooked in sesame oil! We will absolutely come back!
One of the best Korean BBQ places in LA. Service was great especially since we had a baby with us. Really chill atmosphere and our servers explained everything to us in detail and were very patient. Would definitely come again.
Great food! We came around 7:30pm and it was average busy but no super long wait. The food was amazing and the banchan (spelling?) Was tasty. I like how they cook everything for you.
Good food & the service is the best. The employees are all genuinely sweet people.
I can't believe I've been a mile away from Shilla for almost 18 years amd just tried it today! Everything was amazing!! So glad we finally tried it! Loved the quality meats and all the sides. It's not an AYCE place so be prepared to spend some $$$$. We got the premium combo! So good!

The traditional Korean method of cooking pork belly and Kimchi on a lid of large metal pot has been adopted. The staffs are friendly and it's convenient as they grill it right at your table.
Wow. I stop here we need Korean BBQ That’s why. We here Korean BBQ. It good restaurant. Food is very good I love Korean BBQ I go everywhere. Here is top 5 for me
Was seated right away, the server Jay was extremely nice and attentive. Very quick service and made fantastic small talk. Enjoyed all the side dishes and the meats were great as well.
We walked in on a Sunday busy but they sat us down real quick. The food and side dish was amazing. We went for brisket and shrimp everything was great. Thanks to Jay he was very attentive and made it more welcoming.

Pretty good bbq and sides as well - little disappointed in the service - could've been a bit more attentive - had to ask a few times for items and seemed to be a slow day at lunch. Just a bit dated - probably could use some updating. Bathrooms seem to get neglected ... Will definitely go back.
This spot is AMAZING!! We came here (2 men and 1 lady) to eat a combo deal and the waitress cooked all our food 🥘 for us all we did was sit and eat. Not many KOREAN BBQ PLACES DO THIS FOR YOU, she cooked everything for us. The meat was delicious from the beef to chicken . Many of us know it is very hard to find great Korean bbq places; the meat was fresh and not slimy, they allowed us to bring in our own drink 🍹 (not alcoholic ) since they don't have many teas, and their prices are very reasonable !!! May good money for great customer service and quality : it can be a little cheaper but overall well. It's supper quiet and lonely so parking is not an issue. Check them out if your in the area and ask about their combo deals
Clean venue, polite waiters, fresh and authentic Korean food. I went to this restaurant for the first time based on the good reviews. This place did not disappoint! The combos were filing, pricey but worth it! I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because although all the waiters were polite, this particular waiter wasn’t as attentive as we would have liked. Otherwise, wonderful place! I would go again.

It was the first time Korean bbq for us but we are absolutely amazed. Prize is quite high but it’s quality food and extremely delicious.
The service was great. The server was attentive. Made suggestions. The fried dumplings are delicious. The side with cilantro is unique to Sheila and delicious!
Good service but portion is ridiculously small for its price. I mean really small. This was not Kobe or Wagyu, it was just pork. This was the $100 pork combo with few thin slices on the grill already. Two of us weren’t even half full I’d just go somewhere else for this price tbh. You can get this amount meat & quality for around $10 from Hmart. Never going back.
I went here on a Thursday night with my three kids. Two of them. 20 years old and one 7 years old so it was four of us. My 7-year-old didn't really eat much besides rice and beef. My problem it was so expensive for the amount of food that you get. I've been to other Korean barbecue and you get a lot more sides. Probably double and the portion of all the size were to me a little ridiculous. They were probably literally one spoon worth.(Ni para una lonja) The meats were okay. Not the best I had. We had one beer and three Waters. We order rice cakes. One order of that. That's all we had. The service was great. They were very attentive but the only thing that I did not like was the portions and how expensive it was. It was $300 flat. I thought that was excessive 300 bucks for the amount that we ate and we didn't eat much. I've been to other ones that we pig out and it's under $150. I know some people might think this post is stupid but I was just shocked how expensive it was. Like I said I've been to other ones and I've gotten way more food. Maybe two times or three times more than this place for far less and it wasn't that good. Two blocks before there's a small Korean barbecue with circle tables. That place was good sides up the yin yang good portion sites. I'm not looking for a lot, just more than a spoonful. The meats were better. Okay more choices. I just wanted to try something new tonight last night and I did was not good. Thank you. If you read this far I know I'm everywhere. Yeah, try if you desire

This was one of the last of a bygone era of Los Angeles having the best Korean restaurants. I’m so sad because even though this place was expensive I thought it was worth it because the food was usually good and side dishes were good. The service from mostly was outstanding if the usual little ladies were there. Must be an owner change or management?????? Different and not in a good way. We sat down and the waiters were arguing and seemed disgruntled…….we didn’t see the usual faces as servers so that was a BIG sign so we fled fast. Just went again yesterday to check it out and same weird situation and no one in there???? Bad sign bc word got out. Los Angeles is turning into a restaurant graveyard. Time to move outta this place.
Absolutely horrible service and insanely expensive for no reason. The worker was mad for us asking 1 potatoe salad per person which it is literally one tablespoon worth of food. And they charges us 18% mandatory tip for their horrible service. Would never come back don’t come here unless you want to get ripped off. And sake was insanely expensive.
I got sick after eating at your restaurant tonight. The marinated beef dish made me feel ill immediately. It was over-seasoned to mask old, freezer-burned beef. I had to run to the bathroom to vomit right after eating it. Our server, who was barely present throughout the meal, tried to blame my condition on something unrelated before I even got to the restaurant. I felt fine until I ate that dish. My body instantly rejected the food. We were forced to leave in the middle of our Korean BBQ service because I was so unwell. The worst part was the attitude of the server, and possibly the owner, acting like it wasn’t the food. Even without the food poisoning, the meat quality was poor and not as advertised. I’m genuinely shocked at how you’re still in business.
Very misleading menu. It is NOT AYCE. Portions are way too small for its price. Quality wasn’t as great. Parents ordered ramen just to go on the thrifty side, it didn’t have an egg like it does on the menu picture. Service was okay, I didn’t have a problem. Just the misleading menu.
