There are some restaurants that simply serve food, and there are others that create a feeling. Tonight’s dinner was the second kind. From the moment I walked in, the restaurant felt warm, intimate, and beautifully designed. Soft lighting, natural wood, and the open kitchen create an atmosphere that feels both elegant and welcoming — the kind of place where you want to sit a little longer and enjoy the evening. The house-made bread arrived first. Crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and glistening with butter and olive oil. Each bite felt simple, honest, and deeply comforting — the kind of bread that reminds you how powerful good ingredients and careful baking can be. Then came the pasta. The restaurant makes their pasta fresh in-house, and you can taste the difference immediately. The texture is firm and perfectly chewy, almost playful, as if the noodles are dancing in your mouth. The sauce appears simple, but that simplicity hides a quiet depth of flavor that keeps you reaching for another forkful. Eating it felt like sitting down for a family dinner while your grandmother prepares something fresh in the kitchen just for you. I also ordered the green salad, though I’ll admit the name didn’t sound very exciting at first. But the dish turned out to be full of surprises. The flavors were layered, vibrant, and refreshing — a beautiful balance that makes every bite interesting. I won’t explain it all here; some things are better discovered for yourself. As for the price, considering the elegant atmosphere, thoughtful cooking, and attentive service, it feels completely fair. In fact, it feels like a small luxury that’s well worth experiencing. Some dinners fill your stomach. Others stay in your memory. This one does both.
Breaking up our drive back to Ohio from Canada and decided to stay a night in Geneva, NY. I was looking for dinner options on Google Maps and am glad I stumbled across Kindred Fare. What a fantastic meal and service to match from Lewis. I had the crab cake sandwich and chocolate coconut tart, and they were delicious. If you are in the area, I would highly recommend dining here, you won’t be disappointed.
We had a pre-concert reservation for six people on a Friday at 5pm and were seated immediately. Kindred had a great selection of cocktails, beer and wine. Service was attentive and friendly. The food was outstanding! Several of us had the Salmon special which had a strawberry salsa on top. Very creative and delicious! My wife had the chicken and rice bowl which she enjoyed. We will definitely be coming back!
The food and drinks are fantastic. Everything coming out of the kitchen appears to be homemade, artisanal, and using mostly local ingredients. The location is unassuming but the inside is nicely decorated. One of our favorite places to eat and we make the trip out to Geneva just for this restaurant.
My family ate here last month right around Christmastime and the food and drinks were delicious! I appreciate that there were plenty of vegetarian options available and all tasted great. Also just want to emphasize the excellent service we received. We had a very large party with lots of last minute changes/delays due to a snowstorm and the staff were very accommodating. Special thanks to Susie for helping us organize the reservation + menu prior to our visit and to our sever Jude for being so helpful and pleasant throughout all all of our chaos.
We have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally decided to celebrate our anniversary here. Making a reservation online was easy. Our server Lewis was so friendly and attentive. And the food! Every single element was delicious. We love Kindred Fare and will definitely be back!
10/10 would recommend. Lovely environment and space. Service was immaculate and our waiter, I think his name is Louis was actually the best. Attentive and kind and so fun! Delicious food and incredible drinks. Get the Mac and cheese, you won’t regret it. Good portion sizes and great ingredients.
Came here for the first time today after driving by countless times over the years. Wasn't sure what to expect but I was very impressed. The decor, ambiance, service, and food are all top notch. The bar area in particular is impressive as is the open kitchen. Our server was Caitlin, and she was OUTSTANDING. Attentive, knowledgeable, and friendly. Definitely made us feel welcome. We will be back for certain. Five stars.
Stopped by on a whim for dinner. We didn’t have a reservation but we were offered a table on the patio right away. The food was great, lots of dishes on the menu with a gluten free option. Their drinks were really good! We had the gf fried calamari and it was super crispy, along with the fried chicken, and one of their daily specials. Good service, very attentive, and we received our meals in a timely manner.
We have never been here before and decided to try it out. My wife is gluten free and loved having many options including a chicken cutlet and Mac and cheese that was delicious. I had a rice bowl with so many flavors. We tried out the honey hot cauliflower wings which were great. This place really has a lot to offer anyone that is gluten free. This is a place we will visit any time we are in town. They did everything right here and it's such a great atmosphere.
Geneva's coffee and food scene has been somewhat disappointing so far but Kindred Fare certainly made up for it! Ordered the fried chicken under the kids' menu and it was perhaps one of the best fried chicken I've had. The cornmeal crust tasted incredible, and the chicken was fried to perfection. 🍗 Both the service and the ambiance of the place were amazing, too.
Had a light meal here, came because of the poutine, but got carried away by the field salad. Apparently they have seasonal fruits in the salad and yet still manage to make it delicious. The poutine was delicious as well but the gravy was a tad bit salty. Would definitely come again for both.
Just splendid! I had my birthday dinner with my partner here on a Monday night. We had a reservation for two and got in easy with no wait. We went with the Chef’s Menu which was strawberry themed this week. Everything was amazing! We also had the poutine as a starter. The salads are an absolute must here. My partner and I both agree it was the best out of all the dishes we had. I also had to get the cherry Sunna Wellness Elixir since I was so impressed with them from the previous Wellness Elixir pairing dinner I attended here. Our server, Emily, was also very kind and attentive. Thanks for making my birthday great!
We have been visiting the Finger Lakes area for several days now and this is one of the restaurants that I chose for dinner. I chose this based on recommendations from a Facebook group and also the reviews on here. We arrived at 7:15 and we’re immediately seated. I can’t remember our servers name, but she was very nice and very proud of where she worked when she told us that everything that can be made in the restaurant was made there. My partner started with a glass of Billsboro Chardonnay and I had black iced tea. He thought the Chardonnay was just OK. My iced tea was very good. I ordered the flank steak with french fries and instead of the garlic aïoli I asked for the homemade ketchup. My partner had the pasta Primavera with chicken and he also ordered a side of the focaccia bread. The flank steak I ordered was cooked to perfection. The homemade steak sauce and homemade ketchup was excellent. My partner enjoyed his pasta Primavera entrée. The focaccia was a little on the dry side, but the homemade butter was excellent. We shared the three scoop ice cream flight which consisted of a scoop of vanilla, a scoop of chocolate, and a scoop of melon sorbet. For $15 it could’ve been better. They all had good flavor, but in my opinion, I think they were put into the jars ahead of time and put back into the freezer which made the vanilla and chocolate icy. Overall, a good experience, but there were still a few misses.
Great atmosphere, fantastic service and delicious food! Justin was a great server and walked us through the menu with great recommendations. The house-made bread and gluten free crackers were amazing, followed by the steak and pan seared salmon. They make an awesome old fashioned with house made bitters too with a taste of cinnamon. Overall great spot for dinner or a special occasion.
Open on a Sunday for dinner!!!! Fabulous eclectic menu featuring local goods. I wanted to sample everything on the menu. The decor was great - rustic modern. Nice bar too with counter seating. Plenty of parking. We had the bass special on summer squash and green bean. So fresh. And the crab cake with slaw and pickled onions on brioche with poutine which was amazing. So filling. No room for the incredible desserts. I would come back again for sure. Note that the bar promotes mostly local liquors. Good to try something new.
We picked this place because the reviews were good, and the B&B we were staying at gave it a rave recommendation. I ordered the fried chicken, and honestly, it could have been better. The flavor was good, but the chicken was very dry. The drinks were great, the service impeccable, but the chicken left me a little apprehensive when the $180 bill came...
