The view from restaurant is spectacular. (Make sure you eat out side) inside no view and look like a large room no excitement to it !!! We were staying at the hotel, so we went up for dinner although it’s the same view for breakfast it was a very limited menu. They gave you complementary tomatoes and mozzarella small serving The food is good I had the seafood mix which was good. We also had the spaghetti and shrimp, which were good, ordered a side salad, which was good, the bread basket was good. Glass of wine was reasonably priced. Pinot Gratio !! this is a good restaurant. Nice view if you’re staying at the hotel easy if you’re not staying at the hotel, you would enjoy the view. Prices were fair. Waitresses were very nice. Lacked a lot of English needed to call over someone that spoke English, but that work for both of us . All in all it was a pleasant evening.

Ottimo e veloce

Ristorante molto carino, cucina ricercata e buona. La sera in cui ci sono andata, un sabato sera, c'erano solo due persone a seguire tavoli e il servizio è stato lentissimo e poco attento. Peccato. Un po' caro quindi vista l'esperienza vissuta.

Il locale ha un ambiente molto raffinato, il cibo è molto buono, peccato la lentezza nel servire le pietanze Edit: Andando al ristorante accanto (Tralalero) si scopre che le cucine sono condivise, si è visto passare il cameriere del Salgari dentro il Tralalero, ora si capisce perché hanno tardato a portare i piatti. Sono molto contrariato.

The most disappointing dining experience in my 30 years of European travel. My husband chose Il Salgari for our 17th wedding anniversary dinner based on Google reviews and photos. I made a reservation with the maitre’d Federico Cannizzaro, who confirmed by email. As soon as we arrived, I knew something was not right. The restaurant we’d seen in the photos had the lights off. The front desk sent us to the 7th floor, where we found a stark ballroom converted to a dining room. They didn’t have our reservation in the book. We should have left, but it was raining and we’d been traveling all day. So, we stayed and regretted every minute. The food looked nothing like the online photos. It was presented just like it tasted—basic, bland hotel banquet food. We came to Genoa for 36 hours to have pesto pasta; I’ve tasted better back home. My husband’s tenderloin was smothered in brown sauce; my octopus was rubbery. I felt like we were at a wedding but sat at the kids table. We asked the server why we were upstairs. He said it was because it was raining, they decided to move their indoor/outdoor restaurant to the banquet hall. The restaurant downstairs had more tables inside than the makeshift dining room, so that made no sense. Trying to find nice things to say. The staff was extremely friendly and made good wine pairing recommendations. The flat bread was quite good. If it’s not a rainy day, you are not foodies and you are staying at the hotel and don’t want to leave, then you might enjoy it.

La situazione covid di sicuro non aiuta, ma sapendo quante persone alloggiano nell'albergo, è facile prevedere quanti coperti fare per cena, quindi le lungaggini infinite, non sono da perdonare. Aldilà di questo è il cibo non mi ha convinto. Cozze anonime e cotte in maniera diversa tra di loro, niente piatto per i gusci, nemmeno salvietta per pulirsi le mani. Spaghetto allo scoglio, con pesce rigorosamente scongelato. Boh... Credo che non serva aggiungere altro

Our dinner at this restaurant was a huge disappointment. We made a reservation thinking that this restaurant would be a very good memory. What a disillusionment… We are residents of Genoa, and never before had we experienced such a disappointment. We booked online and requested a table near the bay window to enjoy the view over the city."We were informed that the terrace is only open in the summer... We were seated at a table just 10 cm away from our neighbors'. Great for privacy. Most of the customers are seated near the windows, but there’s no view of the outside. Everyone gets placemats, while some tables enjoy beautiful white tablecloths. We understood that only hotel guests receive a service closer to our expectations. The worst part was our dish costing 28 euros. So disappointing ... On the menu it says...fish with potatoes and sun-dried tomato. The piece of fish was tiny, only one potato the size of a 2 cm diameter, and just a single cherry tomato. The people who were lucky enough to dine on white tablecloths, on the other hand, seemed to be better served. A shame. Never, never again !!!
