Really good Argentinian style empanadas and the aji sauce has a nice flavor with a bit of spice. The Guanabana with milk is excellent too. The Maracuya with milk wasn't so good - drinkable, but

Versalles is a landmark in downtown Medellín. Great place to have buñuelos, coffee and emppanadas argentinas. Food is guaranteed! We order a chicken soup that we didn't find tasty and we were not charged. Will be visiting Versalles again just as my grandparents did for years. Thank you,

That's one of those places you can't not forget to go... Dishes are delicious and for tradition you can share cool moments there with family or friends. You must try Argentinian empanadas, they are so delicious, anyway the rest of the menu are great! Cold or warm drinks are nice suggestions too!

As a local, it is always a good idea to visit. As a foreigner, its a must to visit. It’s Argentinian empanadas are the best in town and if you’re looking for a vivid place to spend a good time at, this is the place.

They have a excellent fileted migion with mushroom sauce fries and salad and bread and butter for roughly 15usd. I tried both the Chilean y Argentinian empanadas not a favorite of mine but I like the atmosphere there

Lonely Planet never fails. Great stop for lunch. Well worth the short trek over from Botero Plaza. Get the daily deal and opt for the tomato soup!

Always worth a visit. Service is good, menu options are very good and the prices very reasonable. A menu with soup, main course and fruit juice costs around 17,400 pesos (5 dollars). We had the menu de día, and the menu con carne. They were both very good.

Best empanadas I had in Columbia! The other pastries are very tasty too. Prices are really affordable. Highly recommend!

The lunch special is a little more than other places, but the food is much better, Also, the special not only comes with the usual soup, salad, and seco but also ice cream and a hot drink (un tino o areomatico). They're not giving out menus (like a lot of places), so you have to scan the QR code. Our waiter patiently explained what they offered because we didn't bring our phones along... There's an old-school vibe about the place (to be expected from a 60 year-old restaurant!)... old futbol club and cycling photos, memories of nadaistas, French pastries, Argentinian empanadas, comfy chairs... What more could you ask for? Head downtown and check it out today! Or don't (and leave more pastries for me!)

If you are in a boring walking tour and simply had enough of listening to someone fake enthusiasm, or if you simply love cake, this is the place for you. Some o the best cakes I have had in South America and at a good price. The empanadas looked amazing as well (pasty like for the English readers) I didn't try as my eyes were all for the cakes but I am planning to go back. There are also some bars opposite where you can eat the cake and have beers...

This is a must-visit place. Serving classic argentine food, they execute on the oven-backed empanadas. They're so flaking and delicious! This is also one of the older restaurants in Medellín with over 50 years of service.

Best empanadas in Colombia - flakey shell, flavorable inside, reasonably priced. Employees are all personable and professional. Even the napkins are special and monogrammed.

The classic of the classical. Don’t leave without having a leonesa. Good service. Good food. Part of Medellin history.

Great food, excellent service, and really fair pricing. What more can you ask for? It’s much larger inside than it appears when you’re standing in front of the place. If it’s really busy when you arrive, be sure to head upstairs, as you’ll have a better chance to find an open table there (the stairs are about halfway back and on the right hand side). Be sure to try some of their fresh bakery items! 😋

An authentic experience. Unfortunately I forgot to take pictures, but the Argentinian empanadas are to die for. Probably the best I had in Colombia. Also the stake is delicious Don’t miss this place if you are in Medellin🫶🏼🩵

I was craving something sweet and tasty. Versalles Restaurant and Pastry shop didn't dissapoint! I ordered an Argentina Emprnada and it was full of meat and potatoes and very filling. The crust was nice and flaky so tak your time and enjoy eating it. I sat upstairs and the service was top notch with a smile. I headed back down to pay and noticed the amazing selection of pastries and desserts in the window. After chatting with the friendly security guard I ordered a piece of chocolate cake. Super sweet and delicious 😋 I will be back! Please follow @bouncingplaces on YouTube as I share my experiences from around the world 🌎 🙏 See you in the next one!

An authentic Medellin institution that won't leave you disappointed. Great atmosphere, great service, lovely food and a true jump in the past for this restaurant/pastry shop that never fails to deliver. Try the empanadas and the milanesa - you'll be filled with joy.

Impressive place. Very efficient staff, even if people are queing, waiting time is very low. Impressive selection of pastries and simple tasty food. The history of the place (written on the table sets) is impressive as well. Thank you for this great, typical, moment!

Best way to describe this place is a ‘slice of heaven’. Words don’t compare. No walk downtown is complete without a stop here. The Empanada Argentine says it all. Already salivating while thinking about our return to try many more menu options. Not to mention great Colombian coffee, friendly service and atmosphere.

Salon de Versalles is a Buenos Aires-style corner located on Junín Street, the most historic pedestrian boulevard in downtown Medellín. Where you can enjoy delicious dishes and be sure to try their delicious Argentinean breaded pastries.

A safe bet for an American tourist. A wide variety of baked goods, with interesting Argentinian and local twists. Great for people watching. Impeccable service and friendly staff. Considering the meal, the cheapest place I’ve eaten and enjoyed thus far. The sites around the area are also a must.

Its somewhere you just have to go (it used to be the place to go on a date 30 years ago and along with coltejer, its what made the street its on very special), this place is famous for its empanadas argentinas and has a very long history. Its not expensive and has many great options.

They do nice cakes and empanadas (I prefer the empanadas chilenas). The menú del día is good value, though plain food served in a dining room upstairs full of locals doing business of socialising and so is a great place to people watch.

This reasonably priced restaurant is one of the best people watching spots in the city. The food is good and usually arrives quickly, though it can take a while when they are very busy. A great place to indulge your sweet tooth, or sample something a bit more filling.

Delicious Argentinian baked Empanadas. 4000 cop each. Meat or Spinach. Plus a full menu and other baked goods. This was my Papa Juan's favorite treat from downtown. A true Medellin tradition to go with Tango.

A lively spot in el centro for a cup of coffee, pastry, lunch & people watching! I was invited here by a local family after attending a show at the nearby Teatro Lido and really enjoyed my experience. My local friends tell me that people in Medellin love & cherish this place, and that it has a lot of history. The Argentinian empanada and the chatilly cream pastry are my favorite!

I honestly don’t understand how this place managed to get such a high score. The Empanadas we ate were average, not bad but nothing special. What we really liked was coffee and cream pastry. That was 10 out of 10. On the other hand pineapple juice was watered down, ice cream were terrible. Cream is not even fresh but made from cartoon box and tasted synthetic and it seemed like they are using cheap ice cream, I would not eat ice cream there again even if it was lower price. Service not great either, the really nice guy was the security guy who helped us to find where to sit sit down. So overall disappointing and I would not recommend it

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. The place was overcrowded (I honestly don’t understand the hype), and nearly everyone was eating the exact same thing, which seemed suspicious. After waiting several minutes just to be attended (understandable, given how packed it was), the server finally arrived—only to be incredibly rude. I asked for multiple menu options, but none were available. The only thing they could serve was the so-called "American" breakfast—conveniently, the same dish 99% of the customers were eating. I reluctantly ordered it, along with some Argentinian empanadas (the main reason I came), which they assured me were available. After another long wait, they finally brought a plate of cold eggs, a jar of milk, and coffee, again with an awful attitude. Just as I was about to start eating, the server casually mentioned, "By the way, there are no empanadas, just so you know." Seriously? Why not say that from the beginning? I then noticed them going around to multiple tables, saying the exact same thing after serving the eggs—as if they were intentionally forcing everyone to eat that dish. After yet another long wait (with my already cold eggs getting even colder), I had to ask for a fork, since they hadn’t even brought one. I ate the food, and just as I asked for the bill, the server suddenly decided to bring a glass of orange juice. No comment. Absolutely not worth the time, money, or frustration.

Although the food is ok by Colombian standard, the cashier practices racial discrimination against Asian tourists. She will help the Colombian customers first, while the foreigners wait longer. Their low character makes them disgusting.

Impossible to pay by card under 10k$, written nowhere else than in small at the cashier and the waitress couldn't find any solution for us. A local client had to pay for our coffees, which was very embarrassing.

The food is just ok, but the service is horrific. We had a 5 top for lunch, all ordered Plato Tipco to streamline the process. It took us almost two hours from the moment we set down to finally get our check and get the hell out of there. I feel like they were intentionally massing with us, just because we were gringos. They do have the line out the door, not sure why.
