Always love coming here when I'm in town. Great old time ice cream place with walk up service.
Love their seletions of condiments with the ice cream or shakes. They also have food you can order but we've not yet tried them yet. I do see people eating hamburgers, hotdogs, and fries. I'm sure there are other items but like I said we've really not eaten food there, so we dont know what they have on their menu.
Fosters is a Glendora favorite and has been awesome for many many years. Not only is their soft serve but their food is also pretty dang good.
THEE spot for a great selection of ice cream with choice of toppings, Twisters are the way to go. and the food is always good and hot.
I had the Mocha Mudpie Twister with Heath bar... Delicious! A clean establishment with a large menu. Lots of fun on a warm Summer afternoon!
The blessed ice cream in town.Kinda pricey, but you pay for what you get
Great old fashioned Foster Freeze! They have so many good things here, food and all kinds of desserts that no one else can compare to! The best part was the AWESOME service I was given! I would give the ten stars if possible! Everyone was so polite and my food was ready in no time! So glad I stopped!
I have come to foster freeze since I was a small child. The soft serve ice cream is like no other. It is thick and rich and does not contain a lot of air like Dairy Queen. My two favorites are the root beer freeze and the chocolate died vanilla cone. Their burgers and other food is also good.
Went for a cone during the week around 830 pm and it was steadily busy. Got to people watch. It was fun to see so many people out supporting a small business.
Foster Freeze is my favorite place for ice cream since 1973. I love it. I just wish they never change the recipe .
Soft served ice cream is best! And good price just under $5 for a large Cone or cup, and Half and Half is best of both worlds!
Fantastic! We had the fries, a twister and a dipped cone. Everything was delicious and bigger than I expected. The guy who took my order was great! Very helpful with suggestions really nice.
The people here are always very friendly. They serve great comfort food, ice cream of course, but also things like chili cheese fries. Nothing fancy just done the way you'd expect. The building is tiny and old, I've only ever gone up to the walk up order window. They don't even have a drive thru. But that is a big part of the charm.
The food was just like I remember as a kid. And it was well prepared... can't speak for all the locations but this one still cares about their food and ice cream! We will be returning!
We Love the Flavorful Ice Cream and variety of combinations. We enjoyed the Oreo shake, Parfait and swirl of cherries & chocolate brownies.
The best soft serve in the LA area, for my money. It's about 20 mins from me, but we love going out for it once in a while. Just as good as I remember 40+ yrs ago.
This place is A1 people! Bomb food & super chill dine in experience! Cold AC on a hot day definitely makes this place worth eating inside of!
This place makes everyone happy we had burgers and ice cream on a recent triple digit day. Everything was delicious and really helped the day end in a good note.
Absolutely the best place to go for a nice big ice cream 🍨, blast, or sundae. The fries are also very good!
This foster freeze has been consistent in their food offerings and their friendly service. I recently went to another location and their burger was not the foster freeze I know. This location serves their fries super sized 😃 and they’re not greedy with their condiments
Absolutely Fantastic....I just moved to this side of town and found it in passing. We had to stop and super happy we did!! The people working were AMAZING and the Banana Split was MAGICAL 🌟
I love riding my motorcycle through Azusa canyon and on my way home stop by Foster's freeze and have a chocolate dipped chocolate cone. The ice cream is soooo creamy. I love how it drips down my hand and I have to lick it off like a little kid 🤗
One of the great treats of Glendora. Long on history and even longer on quality foods, both hot and ice cold. Fosters Freeze will satisfy all your quick culinary cravings from delicious burgers and fries to sundaes, cones and ice cold specially drinks. Tell Leo I sent ya'. You will return again and again....
It was busy of course but they got orders out fairly quick. Huge portions. Fries are plentiful. Food good and ice was good and hit the spot
Love the hamburgers and the fries are outstanding! My sister and I are soft serve fanatics ..medium chocolate. This a friendly neighborhood shop in Glendora. We highly recommend Fosters Freeze.
Best foster freeze in SD!
The cashiers and cooks always give really good customer service, the managers are very professional , at least that's been my experience as a customer. The burgers are great , while the two hot dogs I bought weren't all that bad either. While the milkshakes are really good, like the strawberry ones for example are. The price is fair for the quality of service and food, at this location.
By far this place has to be the king of all ice cream!! First of all, if you are looking for a classic ice cream place this is it, it has been here for a very long time and has that old dairy look to it with benches and an old phone booth right next to it. Is totally 70's and 80's style! I love their dipped cones the best but they have a huge variety of what they can serve you. I have been coming here for years and I have always loved it. Now I take my kids here too! You have to try their banana splits and their parfait as well! The fact that it's a drive up and park kinda joint gives it that extra nostalgic atmosphere! Way better than Dairy Queen! Hey also have pretty decent fast food options too! Their burger c I with fries and a drink is a popular choice. So if you are looking for a fun place to take the kids for some good ice cream or the occasional fast food treat, FOSTER's is the place!!
Foster's doesn't look like much from the outside, but don't judge it based on its appearance alone. It looks a little divey and looks unlike the trendy ice creameries that have popped up recently. The exterior seems as though it hasn't been updated since it was built in the 50's/60's. But don't let that fool you, this place has some of the consistently best ice cream I've ever had. Their chocolate dipped soft serve is absolutely divine. The chocolate dipped chocolate soft serve is especially amazing, but the vanilla is excellent too. Their sundaes are consistently good. Parking is very rarely a problem. You just drive up, park, and order your ice cream. Generally the wait isn't super long, but they're also pretty efficient if it gets a little longer. The best part about Foster's has to be the price. You genuinely cannot beat how cheap it is for the quality you're getting.
This is the best ice cream in the area and to top it off friendly service
Love this place. I confess, it's partly the nostalgia, bit hey, that's a part of the experience, so it's still legit. Of course there's the usual variety of cones, twisters, shakes, and sundaes, with tons of flavors that are all so good. Then there's burgers and fries, hot dogs and corn dogs, and my personal favorite, grilled cheese sandwiches. Something's usually on sale, two of something for two bucks, so if you need a bargain, that's here, too. Summer evenings racing to finish a cone before it melts--priceless.
We love to treat ourselves to foster freeze they have good Oreo Twister I sometimes share a large with my husband. My boys order there order Jr twisters and my daughter gets there peanut butter and jelly twister. We sometimes order corn dogs from there not too often but they are good with there fries. My husband will usually order a vanilla ice cream dipped waffle cone which is really good. We love this place we try to come once a week or once every 2 weeks. They finally let people sit outside on there tables they had from what I seen 2 tables. There staff is friendly and there outside is clean and picked up. I didn't see anyone sanitize the tables but I wasn't there too long to notice.
Soooooo gooood!! I've heard great things about the food but we've always gone for dessert. The ice cream is on point! I recommend one of their twisters. They have a great variety, are willing to accommodate substitutions/additions, and can make helpful recommendations. It's nicely kept and has always been quite tidy when we've visited. My favorite time to go is 30min before closing. Overall a great place for a frozen treat!
Been coming here since I was a child, fantastic ice cream. It has begun to show its age. More people should go, do not let this establishment go under!!! Long love Fosters Freeze!
Incredible spot. With an old school feel. And the food is fantastic
First time to come here! Got the Oreo twisters large, to share with hubby. Hv to take home more than half. Very good. Ordered fries. Big order. Staff are very friendly. Will come back to try their malt!
I love getting the chocolate dipped strawberry cheesecake twister! It is so good! The first time I came here I made the mistake if ordering a medium cup. It was way tooooo much ice cream. The next time I ordered the jr cup and it was the perfect amount. They serve a lot! They also have lids and cup holders if it's a "to go". The workers are all pretty nice. It doesn't take too long either. This place is super awesome.
It's been a long time since I have had the food in a Foster's Freeze, but I remember it being pretty good. I'm a huge fan of their shakes and freezes and sundaes, though! And this location had particularly friendly and courteous employees.
Delicious goodness with a touch of nostalgia. I love the Fosters Freeze building and classic feel taking you back to the 1940s and 1950s. Even though you’re not able to sit down because of COVID-19 (as of June 2020) the employees are friendly and provide excellent service. I saw them cleaning and keeping things neat. I ordered a Large Half-Half cone and it was so good. I’ll be back for sure.
The owner works hard at this place. Quality is amazing. From homemade ranch to the amazingly welcoming staff. This place serves everything from burgers to ice cream. I go there regularly and I'm from out of the area. If you are visiting Glendora. I'd definitely put this place down as a place to visit.
Great soft serve, friendly service, very fast service but very expensive! A simple cone was $5 what really!? Damn
Foster's Freeze has some excellent banana splits for a fair price. Even better, you can customize your split, if you're not fond of chocolate or have nut allergies. Have yet to try their other food options, but for those who want really good ice cream, this is a place to go.
Always good service for a quick treat
I have been going to this foster freeze since I was a young child. I’m now 62 and there is just no better foster freeze on the planet. There dipped cones are just by far the best. The people that serve you are always super nice and it always makes me feel at home when I’m there. Simple pleasures are hard to find today but foster freeze Glendora delivers. I hope you never go away. 😊🙏
Great buissines great staff great location great appearance of the buissines dont change what works.......
Very good 👍 best ice cream 🍦 atmosphere very good!
We came here pretty late. They were still open. The double decker is probably the best go-to. The fries were delicious. We really wanted to try the ice cream, but we figured another day for another review.
This place is awesome. Great service. The staff is nice, helpful and quick. I love Fosters from my youth and am glad there are still a few arround. There is something about the ice cream that is unique to them. The burger was great as well as the ice cream. Better than In and Out in my opinion.
Very clean inside. Friendly staff. Even though it’s an old historic place. Very nice to stop by. Hope it remains open for other generations.
Staff is always friendly & they made my order quick.
Food quality is always fantastic, and the soft serve is out of this world. Over many years of patronage, I've never been disappointed.
The ice cream is incredible, and it always gives such good vibes. I just wish they gave the place a paint job and cleaned it up a little, this really could be a crown jewel of the area.
I love this place, so much nostalgia, my parents would take us here when I was little, great food and ice-cream.
Greatest ice cream within a 100 mile radius straight up. I mean where else can you get a banana split or a malt?? Service is always fast, bathroom is clean, and the vintage vibes are immaculate. A little pricey but what isn’t in this economy? The quality and portion size make up for it as well. Definitely coming back as my go to ice cream spot
Lots of sweet treats! Great soft serve ice cream made in different ways from simple cones, sundaes to banana split and blizzards. They also have food and snacks like fries and onion rings. The service is always good & great to bring the family to cool off for a summer treat.
Good place for a burger fries and a drink...and best place to top it all off with a Fosters Freeze. Just dropped in with the Wife during her lunch break and had some burger combos and a cone to complete the deal. Food is always prepared to order and comes out hot and delicious. 😋 Service is quick and friendly. Had a seat indoors, dining area is small but clean. There is some outside seating and limited parking so taking food to go is probably the option for most folks. Definitely coming back during this time of year for more good food and ice cream.
OMG! If you were around in the 70's and 80's and remember going to Foster's Freeze, get ready for a time warp. Prices are not what they once were (duh), but the food is just as good if not BETTER! Burgers were awesome, and then, of course, we had to get my husband's favorite Chocolate Malt
I was surprised that Fosters Freeze place still exists because where I grew up in Pico Rivera on Rosemead Blvd, they went out of business years ago. I used to love their banana split. It was nice to eat one again for old time sake.
Good ice creme. Video had the root beer float which is ny fave. Everyone and there mother was there tonight but the line goes fairly quickly. No in store dining but there is outdoor sitting available.
Well, they must pay okay because the young men working there have nicer cars than I do. The only other customers were haggard near-baby-boomers waiting for their sweets in their cars and then eating them in their cars as well (even though it wasn't hot enough to require air conditioning to forestall drippage). These others also displayed a mastery of the menu that I lack, ordering eccentric and colorful objects in large plastic glasses that looked more like something you'd use as the centerpiece on your table when entertaining than something you'd endeavor to digest. Me I just ordered a soft serve vanilla which I then commanded them to dip in chocolate. This later maneuver they executed successfully. And well that they did: there is something truly remarkable about eating a soft something turned upside down and dipped in molten something which then cools and hardens in your hand. And then you eat it. Why aren't we all there right now?
It was cool to come to a Foster Freeze and get a root beer freeze and a hamburger, the food and service was good. The atmosphere was sad, the owner needs to really restore the place it run down
Great Old Fashioned Iconic Ice Cream Stand. From Root Beer Floats, Chocolate Dipped Cones, Sundaes, Banana Splits and much more... Great service!
Can't go wrong with ice cream
This is one of the last remaining foster freeze establishments. They have been around since the late 40s. The prices are from the future somewhere in 2050. A little bit of a sticker shock. A meal and a treat will cost 1 person $30.
Great spot for soft serve ice cream, with toppings and dipped cones, as well as milkshakes. We also got a pumpkin cheesecake twister (blizzard) that was excellent. Foster's is a local favorite and a good value, but the small outside seating areas need refurbishment or an update
Good old fashioned ice cream treats. The place looks like it's been around for a long time. It looked like they should have car service. The tables were vintage 1970s, but a tad dirty/sticky looking. It made me question the cleanliness of the inside, but not enough to stop me from ordering.
Great bit of nostalgia! Twisters= Great, Swirl half/half cone= Great, Root beer Freeze=Great. Would have been 5 star, however, a person ordering after I did went to the window and began to grab our order. No problem, we will wait. The person realized they were grabbing the incorrect order and handed the swirl cone back to the young lady that was calling out and distributing the orders. Where I took away 1 star was she attempted to hand the cone to me. I explained I was not taking that particular cone and would like a new one. She responded , "Oh, I understand ". She should have not attempted handing me the cone after this other person had the cone in their hand. Other than this, dessert was wonderful! Will be back again and recommend you try it out as well!!!
I would come here more oftenBut it's too pricey for me. The food is good I must admit and they. Also have a menu off the menu like in-n-out.
Went for an ice cream treat. Decided on the original parfait with cherry instead of strawberry and the chocolate cherry brownie parfait with hot fudge. The line was consistent and prices a little high. The ice cream was fresh and tasty the whip cream with nuts with cherry on top was delicious. Didn’t try the food only ice cream. Fast service and plenty of parking ten out of ten recommend.
Definitely takes me back to my youth. Love soft serve ice cream, especially dipped cones! I opted for the new chocolate dipped waffle cone, which is basically your adult version of the iconic drumstick. Can be a little messy unless you’re really eating fast, but that’s part of the nostalgia. Service is definitely fast and friendly and worthy of five stars, but price was like $8.25 and like $10 with tip. Definitely worth a trip, but my wallet and waistline will keep it as a special treat only :)
Finally came here the other day and was not disappointed. I ordered the Old Fashioned with Cheese and Oreo Shake, plus fries. The burger was good. Tasted like a good old fashioned burger cooked by your dad manning the BBQ. Fries were perfectly crisp crinkle cut. The best! You only need one order for 2 people. They give you a lot! The shake was delicious. Happy I only ordered a small because it was a lot to finish. Looking forward to returning to try more sweet treats. Would highly recommend making the stop.
I have always gone here for ice cream treats but they are super expensive now. There is very little for under 5 dollars. I can't imagine a family going for treats. A family of 5 would be close to 40 dollars. Plain vanilla ice cream cones is the least expensive desert item on their menu. They charge more for chocolate and even more for swirl. It is less expensive to go elsewhere now. For the prices they charge you would think the upkeep on the building would be a lot better than it is. For those prices I can go to Cold Stones or Baskin Robbins for real ice cream.
I planned this visit for a few months and the day finally arrived ! I arrived 20 minutes after opening and tried to order but nothing was ready. The man said it takes time to get everything up and running. They apparently were out of ice cream, or it was broken or no ingredients? Wasn't sure what he was trying to tell me. It was very hot outside and no customers were there. The outside of the building where you order is very dirty. The heat made it smell like garbage. The counters were sticky. I'm kind of glad nothing was available to order. I'm sad this location isn't good and I won't be back should I visit my relatives again.
It was my daughter's bday, she wanted ice cream..... $13 for a banana split with Oreo toppings..... Holy freaking crap what a rip off. I was going to get something too but no way with those kinds of prices. No idea how good it was, all I know is a banana split is not anywhere close to being worth $13.
This place is getting expensive. Every time I visit, their prices keep going up. It's good ice cream, but doesn't match the price. I'd rather go to Handle's for a better price and product.
The people working at the cashier....especially a female.....bad attitude and not helpful. They rush you and get mad when your offering not fast enough. They all need to be retrained.....not good for buissness....my last time going there....I rather driver more further for some ice cream or just settle for a shake from jack'n box.
Okay... What's going on Foster's? Been going to this exact location since I was a child & I've NEVER had a batch that had an icy texture & wasn't creamy. If this is a one time deal, fine... But if not, then I'm gone. Foster's was the real soft serve holdout in Southern California, if you let go of that... You have nothing. Texture was off, taste was off, even appearance was off. Super disappointing...
Customer service is HORRIBLE. the owner's nephew is very aggressive towards the kids & teenagers. After my kids mentioned the incident, I went back to clear things up . He was very unpleasant to deal with. He mentioned a few times his uncle owned the place, and nothing would happen to him ,I'm very surprised how uneducated and aggressive this person is without any repercussions, his behavior is totaly unacceptable.....my question is. Would you trust this place with your kids without getting verbally abused by this individual ??? I encourage my kids to respect public places. However, some places don't deserve respect or business from anybody !!!! I'm sure nothing will happen after this review , I am trying to inform other parents about this incident so they can keep an eye on their kids to avoid being bullied from the owners nephew !!!!
$6.50 for a chocolate dipped ice cream cone! No thanks!
Went today as a treat and ordered a banana shake with a little chocolate....Older gentleman taking order was rude and told me he'll have to charge me extra when the small costs more then$7... for what a shot of chocolate in my banana shake. But it wasn't what he said but how. I said never mind and left. I don't pay anyone to be rude to me as a consumer and sadly I won't come back. Used to love this place. Bummer
It is a Sunday afternoon me and my family were out running an errands. We decided we would go have an ice cream cone which was delicious. However when it came time to pay it was odd in my opinion that the card machine was not even plugged in I was ask if I had cash I replied no. Once machine plugged in and the transaction went through. I was asked if I wanted a receipt I replied replied yes only to be ask for my card back that the ice cream was not paid for I allowed her to see my alert showing it was paid for I never received a receipt. Customer service was very disappointing.
