This place was amazing!! Not from here but I overheard a couple talking about it when I was passing thru so I decided to stop in. I am so glad I did!! Loved it! Great price and EVERYTHING they had on the lunch buffet was delicious!! Salad, hamburger steak, mashed potatos, gravy, pea salad, potato salad, catfish, corn bread. The best thing i tried was the BANANA PUDDING!! So good! The service was excellent, never had an empty glass. I will definitely be back! THANK YOU SO MUCH.

We got takeout from Chisolm’s tonight and we loved it! We’ve eaten at the restaurant a few times and get takeout from time to time and I haven’t left a review yet but after tonight’s order, it’s time! The jalapeño poppers are Hand breaded and fried and not out of a bag, although if you would like the frozen kind out of a bag they can do that for you as well. And just look at that chicken fried steak sandwich. Make sure to ask for it on Texas. Toast! I love this place. And everybody that works there is always so friendly. Can’t wait to go back!

The food was amazing! Plenty of seating for large or small families... we will definitely be going back! We came back and had a Girls Breakfast... outstanding! We enjoyed the food and each other's company. This time I remember to take pictures of our food. Western omelet,Breakfast burrito (x3) 2 with bacon one with sausage all with added hashbrowns, avacado toast, eggs and bacon and a Breakfast plate with eggs, bacon, hashbrowns and toast. Also, can't forget the delicious waffle that girls had to get to share.

The moment you step into this cozy, down-home dining car, you’re greeted by the friendliest crew this side of the Mississippi. Smiles as wide as the open plains and service so warm it feels like a hug from your ol’ granny. The spread here? Lord have mercy, it’s a feast that’d make any train whistle sing! Golden-fried chicken that’s crispy as a fall morn, creamy mashed taters with gravy smoother than a sunset ride, and don’t get me started on the cornbread—soft, sweet, and melt-in-your-mouth perfection. They’ve got all the fixin’s: green beans simmered with bacon, macaroni ‘n’ cheese that’s pure comfort, and a dessert bar piled high with cobblers and pies that’ll have you loosenin’ your belt a notch or two. The staff? Why, they’re like family you didn’t know you had, always checkin’ to make sure your plate’s full and your sweet tea’s topped off. Fabled Narrative

I came with my mother and step-father. My step-father wanted to come to this place. Knowing nothing about Chisholms, I was listening to how my step-father was describing it as though it was like a Golden Corral or Cracker Barrel. In reality, it was definitely a small town country eatery. To my surprise, it had a welcoming environment, home cooked food (Crackle Barrel wishes they had), and a southern charm. I found out they all share tips, which is amazing, incentizing everyone to pitch in on creating a welcoming environment. The food itself was really good! One major suggestion is having a hot plate/steam tub/or warmer for the cinnamon rolls to remain warmer longer. (The cinnamon rolls, which were savory, had their icing harden, which was unfortunate, making them hard to pull from the plate, but we're still satisfying.) All other food was served warm. They even had donations to a local charity there. We only showed up for the breakfast buffet, but all three of us would be willing to come back for lunch and dinner. Our breakfast buffet being ~$15 per person was VERY reasonable. They do have some improvements they could make, but this is DEFINITELY worthy of a first time visit and I would love to see this place grow and last throughout the years. We look forward to coming back again!

I saw this place on social media and I am so glad I did. We had a lunch Buffet on the weekend. The chicken fried steak was incredible- hand breaded and seasoned great! The fried jumbo shrimp was great and the catfish was so good!! Really, everything was incredible! The staff was very friendly and efficient. From the owner to the bussers- everyone went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and didn’t need anything. The restaurant is a typical, down-home, country cafe. The seating is comfortable and the decor is on par with this environment. This is our new restaurant when we are craving “grandma’s cooking”!

Old-fashioned Chicken Fried steak falling off. The bone ribs It's Busing with a dessert. That's gonna blow your week back. Cherry pie and blueberry cobbler with homemade ice cream. (2nd time in) the fried fish is to die for must come back on FRIDAY FISH DAY

We always enjoy every meal at Chisolms in Godley. Down home cooking! Prepared with love. The food is fresh and delicious! Huge portions! I always get a kids meal and am full. The days they have a buffet are amazing and their pies are EPIC!!! This is a kids meal!!!!

My son and I met up with his grandfather for breakfast. It offers a buffet style breakfast as well as menu items for those not wanting an all you can eat option. Over all service was friendly, atmosphere is what you can expect from a small town location, and the food was great. We went for the buffet option and everything we had was great. Cinnamon rolls were great, biscuits were fresh, and the pancakes were phenomenal. Other items like eggs, bacon, sausage, and fruit were all good as well. Definitely recommend and will be going back!

Ok, I was expecting more, I got a a locals diner. It was okay, iffy on going back. Just ok. Middle of the road kinda food. We got the buffet. Don’t try the cobbler. A frozen pie is tastier.

2nd time eating at this place today and I'm afraid it has forced me to leave this review. The people are nice enough and it has that small town feel to it. The variety of food on the buffet is impressive but both times I have eaten here the food has been cool or cold. Either they have their steam tables turned too low or they don't work at all. Today it was ice cold and made everything un-appetizing. I seldom eat at buffets because my eating habits have changed as I have gotten older and don't eat much at one sitting. This place I was willing to pay the cost to get the wide range of food they serve. But at $16 per person for ice cold food it isn't worth it. Maybe they purposely do this so no one eats too much and they save money serving buffet style. But they do need to fix this issue because unfortunately I will never return. Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. In response to owners reaction.Then why do you not stir it. I know of no one who enjoys cold food.

Arrived at 7 AM for the Sunday breakfast buffet, they open at 6:30. This is not our first visit. Everytime we try the buffet, most of the food is cool to cold. Biscuits cold, sausage cold, chicken strips cold, sausage rolls cold, gravy cold. We thought getting there early would make a difference, nope. They had the hand sanitizer sitting next to a pan of some kind of pastry, with the pump over the pan. We were the only ones to use it, making sure to turn the pump so it would not get on the pastries. We both ate very little because of the temperature of the food. The link sausage & bacon had a wild weird taste. The staff are really nice but the food is just yuck. Don't come here and expect a hot breakfast if you eat off the buffet. There is no reason, for what they charge, to not have hot food. An older steam table is no excuse. They have newer tables & chairs but still have a crappy buffet table.
