Cafe Yen

Mmm the matcha latte with the lavender syrup was out of this world. Croissant was toasted and married perfectly with my latte. Did not have much time to try more. They mentioned about donuts on Saturday will stop in again. Cute outdoor seating and they have parking!!

This coffee shop is a great addition to the community the food was fantastic and the coffee was perfect they do have sugar free options if thats a deal breaker for you

Cafe Yen is one of those places you go into and immediately know you’re going to be served something excellent. Amazing coffee, fresh baked pastries daily, comfortable atmosphere, and a wonderful team always ready to get you caffeinated. Highly recommend.

Café Margot has such a warm and inviting atmosphere, and Jill and Lilly truly made it unforgettable. They are so sweet, hilarious, and incredibly hospitable one of those people who make you feel instantly comfortable. Highly recommend stopping by!

¡Esta cafetería fue la que más me gustó de Goshen! La calidad del café era como la de Manhattan y el ambiente, como el de Malibú, California. Me encantó la cantidad de asientos, tanto dentro como fuera, y el servicio y la amabilidad de la gente son inigualables. Ojalá nos hubiéramos quedado más tiempo, pero ya nos íbamos a casa en nuestro último día en el norte del estado. Sin duda, volveré y lo recomiendo a todo el mundo.

Es acogedor, sincero y cálido. El café era de filtro (de gota) y latte. El café de gota estaba perfecto. El ambiente era auténtico y clásico. Se ve limpio y ordenado. Aquí hay opciones de pastelería; no habíamos visto muchas, pero estaban deliciosas.

Such a cute spot! They have a lot of great drink and food options. For some reason, they were out of a lot of things when we went at 8:30am on a Saturday. They didn’t have lettuce for my wrap. Things also seemed to take a while to come out even though there weren’t that many patrons. My tea also seemed to be an aqua version of whoville. There’s a whole community in those leaves. They had nice art in the walls and for sale, too. I’m from Maryland so it was nice to see the Ceremony coffee! I’d go back!

Good coffee, nice food. Best coffee place in the area for sure. Espresso blend has gotten a bit too roasty over time though, but maybe some people enjoy it. I wish it didn’t go over the medium roast. It used to be more of a nutty-smooth experience, now it’s more like tobacco/dark chocolate. Update: Still like the place for a hangout, but the coffee and pastry experience went a bit down, comparing with 2-3 years ago. A cortado is not served in a typical small glass for cortado anymore, but rather looks like a cappuccino - in a 6oz classical round cappuccino cup, if I sized it correctly by the eye. A flat white I got was more similar to a latte size, or a big cappuccino. The beans got really smoky and bitter. The pastries lost its nice crust they used to have on the outer shell. Still good, and pretty good for the popular cafe. But it just lost its specialty coffee shop feel. But neither Cafe Yen positions itself as a coffee shop, so take my review as a biased review of the coffee snob. Will still like to come here to hang out from time to time.

Cafe Yen is a gem in Goshen, NY. Minimal vibes, good coffee, and a simple go to breakfast menu makes it easy to swing by and chill. They do also serve smoothies and sell beans. The ambiance is accompanied by indie music, high ceilings, and many places to sit. You can study, catch up with friends, or pick up a cappuccino to go. The crew is chill and friendly, reasonable and accommodating. They present house made syrups over “Monin” bottle pump syrups, which to me is a plus and also serve a variety of pastries. Over time, there is to note a slight inconsistency in a good tasting cappuccino, but it is what it is. Overall, I would recommend you swing by.

Cute little coffee shop that I randomly stopped at as it was on the way back to the city after a wedding weekend. The person taking our order was friendly and sweet. The barista was good but definitely lacked... Energy? Enthusiasm? It was a Sunday morning, so I guess I couldn't blame him. I got the cardamom rose and it was satisfying 😌

¡Qué sitio tan bonito! Tienen muchísimas opciones de comida y bebida. Por alguna razón, se les habían acabado muchas cosas cuando fuimos a las 8:30 de la mañana un sábado. No tenían lechuga para mi wrap. Además, parecía que tardaban un poco en servir, aunque no había mucha gente. Mi té parecía ser una versión aguamarina de Whoville. Hay toda una comunidad en esas hojas. Tenían arte bonito en las paredes y también a la venta. Soy de Maryland, ¡así que fue un placer ver el café Ceremony! ¡Volvería!

Buen café, comida rica. Sin duda, la mejor cafetería de la zona. La mezcla de espresso se ha vuelto demasiado tostada con el tiempo, aunque quizá a algunos les guste. Ojalá no la tuestaran tanto. Antes tenía un sabor a nuez suave, ahora se parece más al tabaco o al chocolate negro. Actualización: Me sigue gustando el sitio para quedar con amigos, pero la calidad del café y la repostería ha bajado un poco en comparación con hace dos o tres años. El cortado ya no se sirve en el típico vaso pequeño, sino que parece un capuchino: en una taza redonda clásica de 177 ml, si no me equivoco. El flat white que pedí era más parecido a un latte o a un capuchino grande. Los granos se han vuelto muy ahumados y amargos. La repostería ha perdido la corteza crujiente que tenía antes. Sigue estando bien, y bastante bien para ser una cafetería tan popular. Pero ha perdido ese encanto de cafetería especializada. Pero ni el Café Yen se presenta como una cafetería cualquiera, así que consideren mi reseña como la opinión parcial de un sibarita del café. Aun así, me gustaría venir de vez en cuando a pasar el rato.

Took a trip to Café Yen in Middletoen, NY. When we arrived, it was a little noisy inside. The barista that greeted us was nice and welcomed us upon entering the establishment. The decór was decent enough, though not quite what we expected.from the photos we saw online. We figured out what we wanted. Hot chocolates for the kids, a latte for my wife, and I went off-script and ordered a peppermint mocha. A change from the normal "House Blend" I like to get before deviating and trying new offerings. It took them a pretty long time to make our drinks, and for some reason, the barista lost his smile and pleasant demeanor and was getting a little short with me whenever I tried to say something or ask him.a question. I don't know what happened to him, but he seemed to get less nice as time went along. Maybe it was the small talk we attempted at how nice the decoration on the chocolate and coffee was? They also served our drinks staggered. Like, we got one hot chocolate, then a few minutes later one coffee, then they worked on other people's drinks, then came back with another hot chocolate, followed by another few minutes wait, then finally the last hot chocolate. As we were getting ready to leave, we noticed we still had a latte to receive. They were out of lids after our third drink order, and he seemed annoyed that I asked for more lids. I don't know if they were busier than normal, but his attitude got worse as we waited, and as far as we saw, only one other person, maybe two, ordered something while we waited.. All in all, the order took about 20, 25 minutes. We had five drinks; two coffees and three hot chocolates. The kids said the chocolate was good, but they like pretty much anything. In all of our outings, they didn't have a favorite, and said all of them taste the same. Weird. My wife liked her latte enough. I DID NOT like the choice I made. It didn't really taste like peppermint, and the chocolate had a weird flavor. It was kind of a chalky mess. All in all, this was not a pleasant experience for us. Needless to say (but I will, anyway), we won't be going back. Maybe other people will have a better experience. We, ourseves don't need to try again. Some places are not for everyone. Edit: The owner contacted me and accused me of faking the pics and the review. I'll admit this review isn't new. As I went with my family a little over a year ago, so maybe things are different, but I certainly went there. Everything that I said was 100% true, and I certainly took those pictures. I've no need to"fake a review," and this only proves to me that the attitude of the staff here is less than pleasant. I got the name wrong, but the pics show I was there. We visit a lot of coffee shops, and I'm not from here originally. I definitely didn't know my way around as much as I do now. I posted this originally on my FB page and was moving my reviews from FB to my google. As you can see, these pics are from my FB post, along with the date and from my camera roll. An apology and an offer to visit again and make it right might have been a better approach.
