Granite Bay Chinese what can I say great as always! Had the won ton soup for a change, good stuff usually have the hot and sour my favorite, love the general chicken. I don't think they make anything bad.
Been eating here for 20+years. The food is flavorful good portions the staff is always friendly. I moved from Granite Bay to Rocklin but I still make the drive to eat there:
Good food price is right
We came in at the very end of the night and had all special, vegan orders. But they did it all! And it was delicious. Clean food, not a ton of corn starch, really tasty and reasonable!
We’ve dined here several times and the food and service is consistently outstanding. It’s amazing since there are only 2 servers managing so efficiently tables and take out orders. What my husband likes is that they will gladly make custom changes. The menu and specials offer a wide selection. Highly recommend!
The food, service, and atmosphere are. Excellent 👌
Each time we go it seems to get better. Very good food, reasonable prices and friendly service.
So my family and I have been a long time customer and always came out happy and satisfied. Customer service is always great. I have no idea of what craziness had happened to these other people but I have never encountered it or seen it. The plates you get are piled to the top with food and the soup bowls are huge. The sesame chicken and general chicken are to die for. Come at lunch for great lunch deals. Its not fancy if that is what your looking for.
We have been here twice and we're really pleased with the service quality and portions. The staff is friendly and the restaurant is kept up. Our favorites are the sweet and sour pork and Kung pow chicken
BEST CHINESE IN TOWN! EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND REALLY GREAT FOOD ! I RECOMMED THE WALNUT CHICKEN...IT'S BOMB
Solid place to eat. Great food and service.
Best place in granite bay close to the lake
My visit here yesterday was really nice, the lady at the front seat me in a booth, I made my order and it was to me semi quickly. The food and portions were delicious and great, the location is very nice and clean and really makes you feel relaxed while enjoying the food. Overall I was very pleased with everything, only thing I was surprised by was the "can" of soda I was given which doesn't get a refill was $2.5 seems alittle crazy they should have a soda machine to charge that much.. Thank you very much for a great experience!!
This hidden gem serves some of the best Chinese food in the greater Sacramento area! You will be greeted with warmth and enthusiastic positivity , and served with flavors that are even greater, 100% recommend
June is very kind and attentive and pleasant.
I've been a fan of the chow mein here for a decade. Never disappoints. Perfect Chinese comfort food.

This year my daughter and I decided to have Chinese food for Christmas dinner! We arrived around 2:30pm as to avoid the crowds and make certain we got fresh hot food! This is simply the BEST Chinese food in the greater Sacramento area.
Granite Bay Chinese has Always been my go to for Chinese cuisine in this area. It’s always consistent. And I always have a hard time finding good Mongolian beef and there’s never disappoints
Staff is always pleasant and welcoming. The atmosphere is delightfully large and attractive and the food is always exceptional and received very quickly.
This place is always great. The food's great The company's great. They treat you so nice.
Been going here for over a decade, since I grew up nearby. I don't live in California anymore but anytime I visit my family in the Sacramento area we make the drive to get this food. Been great for my entire life!

Food is getting better since changing hands. Tonight’s dinner was delicious
Excellent service, clean and good selection at reasonable prices. I had a combination plate that included an egg roll, pork fried rice, almond chicken, and chow mein. I got a good size portion and It was very tasty.
This restaurant is a good example for Chinese food dining. The food is well prepared and they have all the usual menu items expected. The service is very good and polite. In my opinion, the prices are higher than expected for this type of food/service/atmosphere. I suspect the location contributes to the pricing.
We were in the area and wanted Chinese food so we decided to try this restaurant. We were seated & order immediately and the food came out pretty quick. - Egg flower soup: decent with good amount of egg & tofu bits but it was lack of any flavor. - Hot & sour soup: good - not too sour and enough spiciness but good amount of filling (mushroom, egg, tofu) - Sesame chicken lunch combo (with egg roll & fried rice): the fried rice was decent (nothing special). The sesame chicken pieces were crispy yet the meat was juicy. The sesame sauce was okay (sweet & savory). The egg roll was crunchy and the filling was good. - Chicken with garlic sauce lunch combo (with egg roll & fried rice): the fried rice was decent. The chicken with garlic sauce was just ok (the meat was juicy and the vegetables still had crunch) but the sauce was just meh. Overall, the food was 3.5 stars.
Good local Chinese restaurant. Wonton soup is filled with different vegetables, but the taste is pretty basic chicken broth. Since I mainly eat wonton soup when I go to Chinese restaurants this is why my star rating is four. The chow mein and fried rice are delicious. I love the dark fried rice. Some places the rice is still light almost whit but not here. Chow mein with big noddles. Full of vegetables and nice and hot. I do recommend this restaurant if you're in the area.
I love they have Lo Mein noodles for chicken chow mein which now days you don't always get (not much else than noodles and chicken which i personally liked). Chow mein was bland tasting at best. Had all my needs except a taste, had all my needs except a flavor..none whatsoever. Couldn't add enough soy sauce and salt and garlic when I got home. I ordered pot stickers, chicken chow mein and Chicken with mushrooms..pot stickers had no overwhelming taste..soy sauce helped a lot.chicken with mushroom had everything I liked, lots of chicken and mushroom but again bland..but food was perfectly cooked and pieces I personally like

food was some of the best i've had in the greater sac area, but the service was lacking. staff was friendly enough, when they were available, but customers didn't seem to be a high priority. i'd go back, because the food was great, but certainly not if i'm limited on time in any way.
I looked their menu up online and it was $9.50 for sweet and sour chicken and $7.95 for chicken chow win. I went to call and place my order and she quoted me the total and it was way above the prices online. So I asked her about it and she said ma’am those prices are from 10 yrs ago. I told her well you should update your website because that’s very misleading and cancelled my order. Come on GB hi see get with the times. Won’t be headed there anymore.
Everyone else said the food was good. I had the shrimp chow mein and it was greasy, very few vegetables, mostly pasta. I will keep searching for a place with good chow mein. I followed the reviews on next door but I was very disappointed. I wasn't aware that rice didn't come with beef and broccoli or any of the other orders.
Went in for dinner yesterday and told them we were 1st time diners and wanted to support them during all the construction; this did not resonate with them; they were really rather indifferent; I guess the takeout business is all they really need. General's Chicken was quite good, however the BBQ Pork Fried Rice was not very good; it was really Brown Rice with a little of this and that sprinkled in; could hardly find a piece of Pork. BBQ Pork Chow Mein was mediocre; again, could hardly find any Pork; it was primarily Vegetable Chow Mein with a little of this and that thrown in. Altogether, we have had far better experiences at other Chinese Restaurants, both in terms of the staff and the food. Ambience was okay.
This place has declined under new ownership. The green beans were greasy and had no taste. Kung pao chicken had zero kick. Everything kinked of tasted the same. Disappointed!
We walked in to order for takeout and had our food within 15 minutes. The staff was friendly. The restaurant was clean and authentic. We had the Honey Walnut Prawns (~15 prawns, a la carte), the Kung Pao Chicken, and the Lemon Chicken (both in the luncheon combination special). The fried rice and egg roll were pretty bland. Overall, the food was unremarkable. My recommendation, don't get the lunch specials - just get a la carte items (from the dishes we tried, go for the Kung Pao).

We ordered take out tonight from Granite Bay Chinese. I used to eat here many years ago and remembered it being quite good. This time it was pretty terrible, of our entire order the only thing tasty was the honey walnut shrimp. They got our order wrong (general tsao’s chicken instead of orange chicken) and it was soggy/flavorless, and the vegetable fried rice was also not good. The wanton soup was similarly tasteless. It all tasted like frozen food that got heated up - nothing freshly made. I hate leaving a bad review for a local business. To spend $65 for a bad meal was disappointing.
To context this review, my family and I have been customers of GBC since 2006 when we first moved into the area, and have been loyal patrons throughout the years. We recently went back for the first time after the new owners have taken over and were sorely disappointed. Also to note: There was only only one other couple dining-in when we arrived. So oher than that, we were the only dine-in customers. Positive aspects include: - The waitress was very attentive, friendly, and answered all of our questions. - The restaurant was clean and we were able to choose our seating almost immediately with no wait time. I also liked the new black/white checkered ceiling tiles. - The potstickers and crab cheese wontons were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Both dipping sauces were still the same which was great! Negative aspects include: - There is now a giant television in the middle of the restaurant. One of the primary reasons we have always enjoyed dining here was the old school feel without any distracting TVs. Made it feel a bit more like a nail salon than a restaurant since it was playing random background videos. - The restaurant now only plays one radio station instead of soft background music. So for most of our dining experience we had to listen to radio commercials. - The honey walnut shrimp sauce recipe has been changed to be less flavorful and served with regular walnuts instead of candied walnuts. This was by far my favorite dish under the previous ownership, so the new bland flavor was highly disappointing. - The sweet & sour chicken was considerably over-fried and the sauce was lazily spooned over the chicken instead of being evenly coated. It should have been hand tossed with the sauce in a large bowl before being served. - The green tea water was not very hot and the tea was considerably weak, even after letting it sit for 10+ minutes. While I understand that some dishes might not be exactly the same under new ownership, their increased prices and the overall decreased quality were extremely evident. Sad to say I don't think we will return for a long time, if at all.

Called and put in order at 11:15 AM expecting a busy evening on Christmas Eve, for a pickup at 5:30. Arrived at 5:25, food not ready; waited for 35 minutes Reception people clueless with poor communication. Restaurant was 30% full; seems to over book especially with Door-Dash and Grub-Hub. Disappointing!!
The food has been wildly disappointing since the new ownership change. I use to LOVE coming here, even worked in the same complex so visited often in the past. I tried it multiple times after the ownership exchange and it got worse and worse with each visit, I was hoping it would turn around. Last visit I ordered Mongolian Beef, usually a delicious mixture of beef, onion, green onion, coated in a rich sauce. Never disappointed, until now. What I received was a dish with very little beef, barely cooked onions, DROWNED in black pepper, with no sauce. It wasn't edible. It was just a dry, undercooked, sad attempt at what was once my favorite dish from GBC. It's truly unfortunate and solidified I won't be going back, thankfully found a location in Loomis that is outstanding and reminds me of what GBC use to be.
I used to stop by GBC at least once a week pre Covid but haven’t been back for a while. I just ordered a couple of dishes for takeout and I was disappointed. The flavor was still good but there was very little meat. Normally we would have food left over but not tonight. The Kung Pao chicken and Mongolian beef had so much onions but very little meat.

Been coming to this restaurant for 17 years from time to time. It used to be pretty good food. My wife and I tried it tonight and it was not good at all. The egg rolls had a slight fishy taste, all the food we ordered tasted like it was 2 days old and was just heated up. It was pricey as well compared to other local similar restaurants. I could not give a honest review on the service or atmosphere because we got takeout, so I gave it 3 stars. We will not be back.
It's been a while since my last visit and I was unaware of new ownership, not that it would have made a difference for me. The service was attentive and my concerns about msg addressed in a patient and friendly manner. Service was thoughtful and beyond expectation. I ordered garlic sauce with non fried/crispy chicken. What I got was a sweet/sour which is a flavor I absolutely do not like. This made the meal inedible for me. I was very disappointed as it's over a month since I last had Chinese food...that's a long time for me.

Im trying to find a positive from our take out experience, but the only thing I can think of is possibly fresh ingredients? We spent $40 for rice, chow-mein, pot stickers, and a HALF of a to go container worth of shrimp. The shrimp was battered and sauced well, but they weren't prepared like shrimps supposed to be cleaned. The fried rice had a minimal amount of soy sauce used leaving it bland. The pot stickers were under cooked as well. Disappointed in portions, would have felt better if it had tasted better
Well i just live down the street ,just moved to the area. I went in to the restaurant 2 times this month of October 2016. Both times i got the food to go. Well the first time i ordered the chicken with Hot Garlic Sauce. It was ok i might give it 4 1/2 out of 10. I went in yesterday and i got their at 3:05 pm and they have the lunch special till 3:00 pm ,and she wouldn't give it to me .It's about making customers happy so they come back and i thought of being so close to the time it would be ok but it wasn't the situation. Thats ok , i then ordered the same dish Chicken with Hot Garlic Sauce to go again hoping it would be better than the last time . Well when i got home it looked and tasted like it was cooked days before and sitting in the refrigerator and just brought out and heated in a microwave. The chicken both times don't even look like chicken peaces. The vegetables where so soggy and no way they where fresh. It was one of the worst chines food i have ever eat. Again this food looked and tasted like it was sitting in the refrigerator for many day and brought out and microwaved. I have eat lots of chines food over the years and from China town to all over the bay area you have to look for the freshness Quality . This is the last time i will ever eat at this location again.
Awful service, I watched as a server argued with a customer over the quality of food which made me concerned. I ordered the General pork and went home feeling funny. This only furthered my concern, later on that evening I found myself puking uncontrollably. Please avoid this restaurant, I've made a call to the Health department.
The new owners should have picked another profession! Terrible service and food. I called at 2:00pm and requested it BE READY eat 6:00 because I was pressed for time. I arrived at 5:58 and was told it would be right out.At 6:10 just two minutes…6:15 just 2 minutes. I said I am leaving she went in the back and came out at 6:20. Egg goo young (used to be great) was three patties of bean sprouts dipped in egg.(more like a sick omelette), with a container of sauce that tasted like burnt cornstarch and was told to pour it over the patties(What? I thought you were a restaurant not do it yourself).it was horrible and the chow mein also tasteless! Won ton soup bland and only salty and the fried rice(used to be great) tasteless! The new owners are a real disappointment and it’s no wonder there was no one eating inside. There were four people waiting all frustrated. I wish I Had left, it is the worst Chinese food I could imagine! Save your time and money!
Like the last review, very disappointing. Ordered 5 entrees for takeout for 4 adults expecting leftovers. Very small portions left us wanting more. 3 small egg foo young patties for fourteen bucks. Egg soup flavorless and no soy sauce in the bag to help. What? No soy sauce tossed in? No fortune cookies tossed in? Those are standard but both were absent. Orange chicken- enough for 2 normal portions and 1 nugget for each of the other two people. Chow mein was ok, just skimpy portion. Eighty 3 bucks after gratuity which was not earned. A neighborhood restaurant that we won’t be returning to. Head shaker….
The service there was good but the food was AWFUL. The fried rice was hard and the taste of the rice was awful. It tasted like it was left in the fridge for a few days and reheated several times. What was weird as well is that they kept standing in the far corner of the room and were watching us eat. I don’t see myself coming back here.
Our order was wrong not on time for a to go order. If you want awful Chinese food go there. The egg foo young was horrible not traditional the mu shu pork was not good and the chow mein was not edible we threw the whole dinner in the garbage $66.00 wasted we recommend another Chinese restaurant
Tonight I made a visit to this location with my family. We ordered 4 plates two items were chicken, one pork and the other a soup. The food was okay, not the best and the waitress had been really on edge. When bringing the soup, she was very angry as she had placed one item down before and she exclaims, "now where am I supposed to put the aoup, move your plates." We quietly did so and she later brought our food. When I tasted the pork, it tasted slightly rancid so I asked my children to please put the food away on the plate, and I quietly talked to the server she made a big deal about it and started are you going with me another table enjoying their food I know I understand this food has some on it so it was lever up and I left not okay she told me that I was tough to pay for it even though we would not yet told her I would not pay for it has this food was unmistakably rotten. I told her I was highly satisfied with the rest of the food but I would either pay for the food we ate or not pay at all. She made a huge deal sat ans yelled at me in front of customers, humiliated me and my family. When the time came for the bill she removed the item and said she would not do that the next time, I let her know we would not come again and because I said that she continued to charge full price claiming that if we do NOT visit her restaurant again we have to pay for the entire meal. I proceeded to walk away as the food was actually rotten and she immediately ran outside screaming and yelling, calling the police. eventually she took the item off and we had the ability to pay for the food eaten, after a half hour wait while the cashier was assisting other take out orders but it was such a traumatic experience I would beg that you think twice before visiting this as new location. They do have regulars that mostly order take out that we see here on yelp but as a viaitor you are in for a long ride.
Ordered lunch while waiting for a prescription to be filled. Ordered a #1 and #2. Serving was large. The pork fried rice had a rancid, old oil taste. The worst Chinese food I’ve ever had, much less paid for.
DoorDash this restaurant last night and only two things we liked was the potstickers and the fortune cookies. Rest of the food was awful. Will never eat at this place again
