Superb village community pub. Beautiful from the outside, now an asset to the green with an interesting interior, clean and modern but still retains the character of a village pub. Food was superb (we all had Hunters Chicken with desserts). The service at lunchtime was fabulous - the lady at the bar made us feel like old friends and was attentive but not intrusive. We loved our visit here and hopefully will go again soon.

A lovely village pub providing excellent food in a welcoming atmosphere. Superb choice of large portions of freshly cooked food (with allergens detailed on the extensive menu.) Friendly staff, great decor, dogs welcome. A great experience. We will definitely go back. Highly recommend the fish and chips.

We had an amazing lunch at The Swan. The food was absolutely lovely and plentiful, could not fault it. I ordered additional onion rings after seeing them on my sons steak. Our son’s also had the chocolate brownies for dessert and needless to say it went down well ( I did managed to secure a spoonful or two)! Lovely friendly and attentive staff and the layout/decor gave such a cosy vibe on a sunny day. If you are on holiday in the area or nearby, do check this pub out! Our total bill was reasonable considering the amount we ate. Plus we ordered 3 pints of Albion, very smooth drink! From one happy and well fed family!

We went here for the first time for my birthday lunch. The menu is small but it's definitely quality as opposed to quantity. There's a friendly atmosphere here and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will return without a doubt.

A true village asset. A good range of Norfolk ales and an interesting food menu - would highly recommend the beef brisket nachos as a sharing starter and for vegetarians the curry and burger were both very tasty indeed. 🍺

A beautiful community pub in the heart of the village. We visited on the 22 Dec, the service from the front of house and at our table was wonderful a real credit to the village. All our starters where great and all the mains where equally as good.

At last we've found a pub that's open on a Monday for drink and even better, for food! We saw some whale and chips being delivered to tables around us but had the breads in oil starter-incredible.. Then the pork and venison sausage main with colcannon mash potatoes and greens- simply the best sausage and mash ever. We were stuffed by this point but couldn't leave without trying the cheese and biscuits, which was plenty for 2. Lovely lovely atmosphere and very friendly staff too! Top marks for a Monday guys for keeping a lovely dark ale too! Perrrrrrfect

Our experience at The White Swan will definitely be a talking point with friends and family. The food was beautifully presented, the portions generous and the chef is definitely doing something right as the meal was absolutely delicious. We’d like to give a special mention to Tilly who was just amazing as she done everything possible to make sure that we had a lovely evening. Nothing was too much trouble and her positive and friendly approach was truly refreshing. We will definitely be returning in the very near future.

Just had lunch at the White swan in Gressenhall. This was place is a winner winner chicken dinner. So satisfying to find a place that really goes the distance to make a great community feel, and the food was delicious that even after being full from my own I picked the bits off my mums favourite plate when she finished. Thank you and see you soon ❤️✨

We stopped for lunch whilst travelling through. Can't fault The White Swan, beautiful old building, a community funded business. We both had a sandwich, which was excellent. The staff were very friendly and service was great. Thoroughly recommend a visit to this slice of history in Norfolk.

Excellent pub; great beer and superlative food. I had the sea bream and my partner had venison sausages. Followed by cheesecake (shared). We both agreed that these were among the best pub meals we have ever had. We are staying in the area for a week and this place is a great find.

Family invited us over to this lovely community pub- and we were all impressed! Quaint characterful - yet modern, it was sympathetically renovated . The White Swan's been in Gressenhall for over 500 years but in 2019 to save its future as the last remaining pub in the village it was purchased by the community. Over 6000 hours of volunteer work has created a beautiful village pub. Food is fresh and local. We had a buffet of mini fish, chicken and bowls of chips: was very nice, not greasy, was hot, moist, crispy and tasty. Generous portions. Bowls olives and cheese yum! I've been informed there was a good range of beers, many regional. Orchard Pig cider on tap (not local!) was pleasantly bubbly- medium dry/sweet, 4.3% Suitable for vegans and gluten free. Lovely community pub supporting local community with friendly staff. Fab place we'd go again.

We only went in for soup as we were near the end of our 30 mile cycle ride. Unfortunately soup wasn't on the menu, so we decided to have a main meal instead. We opted for fish and chips. The fish we had was the best we'd ever had outside of a fish restaurant. The chips were OK, we didn't eat them all as the fish was a good size portion. The mushy peas were also delicious. I had a pint of Aspell's and hubby had the local stout.

Great Steak, great service and comfortable surroundings. Couldn't ask for more. Well worth a visit on a Thursday night for Steak night offer!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We went to The Swan for our work Christmas meal as a large group and it was a great experience. All the food came out together, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly. Everyone had a lovely evening — would definitely go back.

My partner and I had an early valentine's day meal booked for the white swan, and we were not disappointed. Most of the food was absolutely brilliant, and I really appreciate the use of local ingredients and game meat used in the game terrine and venison sausages! My only complaint was that the broccoli and blue cheese soup was more like water than a soup, which was a shame. Dessert option were fantastic, and our cheesecake and crumble were out of this world We would love to return! 4/5****

We visited on a Wednesday lunchtime. It’s a beautiful location in a well kept village. It was not busy and service was very efficient. The food was excellent, the rump steak cooked to perfection and the grilled plaice was divine. The food arrived freshly cooked, well presented and hot. We enjoyed the food so much we even opted for deserts which were of the same high standard. I would highly recommended this location for food or just a relaxing drink.

First visit today and we will definitely be going again. Had the lovely two pie meals for £20 and a few of their wide range of beers. Expected cheap pies, but they were large homeade ones (as used for the main courses) with a good thickness of shortcrust pastry and proper gravy. Attentive and good service. Still cannot understand why it was so empty for a Sunday lunchtime ?

Fantastic roast dinner. Really good portions, delicious gravy and nicely presented. First time visiting but we will be back!

Lovely pub, staff were welcoming and helpful. Despite being a larger group, we didn't wait long for food, all of which was delicious! Only criticism would be that the roast dinners needed a bit more gravy, but that's a minor thing!

Lovely old pub. Stopped in for Monday lunch and the food was delicious, staff were really friendly and the bill was great value! The only thing that would have made it better is if the pork belly would have had some gravy! Would highly recommend!

What a fantastic place 🤩 An amazing restoration of a true village asset, look forward to spending many happy hours inside (and out!). Staff were great and there’s an excellent selection of proper local beer (hold me back…!)

Had a lovely family meal Saturday lunchtime, 3 children 4 adults. Big portions, good quality food and came in good time. Children loved their meals and prices were reasonable. Nice children's playground and huge green across the road, very close to Gressenhall workhouse which we were spending the day at but needed a hot meal to fit in with plans. Would definitely go again!

Good food and even better prices. Their 3 course deal is really good value for money. Portion sizes are decent. My only complaint is the music. I love dance music as much as anyone but probably not the best choice in vibes for a country pub. Either remove the music altogether or choose something a little more suitable. Poor gran thought she was in a nightclub.

My brother & his wife came from Kent for the weekend & we decided to go & try the White Swan, the meal was absolutely delicious 😋 pipping hot & so tasty, we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Lovely friendly staff & very dog friendly too as we have 3 dogs between us. Try this beautiful pub, you won't regret it.

Lovely afternoon in the garden listening to live music. Good selection of beers. Food a little disappointing due I think to being so very busy normally quite good. Please support your local community pub.

Slightly dissapointed with our Sunday roast today. Pub itself is lovely inside and service was good. But we both had a roast and had to ask for more gravy as we hardly had any. Also the pork was very small slices and a bit dry. Desserts were very nice apart from the custard which was very thin. Overall ok but won’t return

As a party of 4 we all had different things from the menu and all enjoyed our food. There's a decent choice of starters, mains, desserts and cheese board...all reasonably priced too. Service was attentive and polite while there's a lovely ambience indoors. Dogs are welcome, which gave me a great chance to meet some gorgeous pups.

Stopped here on a whim and my partner and I were given a warm welcome. Food was delicious and produce of high quality. Excellent choice of beers on tap. We were seated in the function room which was well appointed and comfortably warm. Service was excellent throughout and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Edit** had roast beef dinner- beef three tiny slices, potatoes cold and undercooked. Staff unfriendly and couldn’t be bothered to deal with the complaint

Went with a family member, were quickly seated by a lovely member of staff, however i wouldnt say the atmosphere was that of a pub. We ordered starters which were more like a regular dish, very large portions. However they were very good, i couldnt complain, these were the crispy chilli beef starters. After this i had ordered the specialty burger they do, cant remember what it was called exactly and my company had ordered the hunters chicken, was a shame we couldn’t finish it all due to large portions but however was delicious. Was a but flabbergasted by the price at the end and wouldn’t say it was worth THAT much, however the experience was nice.

Very clean and busy with food, had a few drinks with old friends in there small bar but superb drinks on pump only issue was price way way over the top, Owned by the village but have a management team in to price the drinks £5.50 for a Carlsburg really really wrong Mahou think £6.60 For a village owned put need to tell management team to understand what they are trying to do is keep in the village not price people out. Just my opinion but great staff and very helpful 👍🏻

First time here for a few years. Very friendly and helpful. Staff attentive and smiling. We shared some starters and new potatoes buttered all were delicious. Lots of people eating. Would recommend especially to real ale drinkers!

The appearance of the dishes was excellent. I had the salmon which tasted excellent. My wife had the pork belly which she enjoyed.

The food was ok. Nothing bad, just not great. We had the Sunday roast (Beef) for the two of us. The food was delivered hot and quickly. The beef was a little overcooked as it was dry, but it was not tough. However, it was very tasty. The “Yorkshire pudding” was a Yorkshire pancake and frankly an embarrassment to a Yorkie. The two roast potatoes were tasty, but not to a standard of crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, more like soft all over. My parsnip was very undercooked and was inedible. The veg was plentiful and cooked well. So there was nothing to rejoice about but there was not a lot to complain about, but could I have done a better job myself…yes I could, but I would have to wash up etc. The staff were mostly amazing apart from one staff member that repeatedly did not deliver the Horseradish sauce, despite asking and confirming on three separate occasions. Another staff member finally delivered the sauce, but by that time, I had finished the meal. Lovely place to eat, with warm welcoming staff, but please do pay more attention to the details, it makes a difference.

Lovely pub let down by the food this evening. We travelled nearly an hour to eat here based on a recent times article. Great atmosphere and friendly service, interesting selection of beers on tap, but food was a huge let down. Special of trout was served on what could only be some frozen mixed peas/sweetcorn and at a couple of points there were ingredients substituted due to either having run out or not enough. Shame as they’ve got ideas that I’d love to see in my local - free pint if you buy a burger on a Wednesday etc. Perhaps we got unlucky on this particular night, but after being named in a top 8 in Norfolk article, we were expecting something better from the food.

Place is nice enough. I went there for Father’s Day. I had a good burger but my daughter and friends had the Sunday roast. Most of the vegetables were almost uncooked. They were very very hard saying we were looking forward to going after reason normally great results from other people, to be fair at the end they did reduce the bill. Will I go back? I’m not sure.

Booked for valentines and was expecting to be in the main pub but we were sat in the "cart shed" which was cold and lacked atmosphere. Our starters and desserts were average at best. The mains of steak and steak and kidney pie were very nice. Staff were nice. Most likely wouldn't return.
