Exceptional stay – unique, welcoming, and truly memorable Our stay at Ben Conger Inn was outstanding and truly unique. The room was immaculately clean and instantly gave the feeling of staying in a real American-style home, warm, comfortable, and full of character rather than a typical hotel experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with incredible warmth, and the level of care throughout the stay was exceptional. Everything was arranged smoothly and thoughtfully, with easy access to the rooms and great attention to detail to ensure comfort and convenience at all times. The breakfast was excellent, fresh, and generously prepared — and the Cinnabon was simply the best we’ve ever had, a highlight we still talk about. It added a special, personal touch that made the mornings unforgettable. The landscaping and interior decoration of the inn are extremely unique, beautifully maintained, and full of charm, creating a peaceful and elegant atmosphere both inside and outside the property. Overall, Ben Conger Inn was a unique and carefully chosen place to stay, offering comfort, authenticity, and outstanding hospitality. We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a special and memorable experience.
We stay here whenever we come back to the area. I’m so happy that this is back in the Claire family after reading about their history growing up in the home. Drew and Shelley, are lovely and always take great care of us, making us feel right at home. The home is beautifully decorated, and well taken care of. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the suites offer plenty of room for our family. The breakfasts are wonderful with a hot made to order menu. We always look forward to our stays here.
Such personal touch and lovely rooms. They have shower and bath w jets. They have two houses. I stayed in the Dempsey house and was nice and quaint in best sense of word. Breakfast includes made to order omelette. Would not accept tip. Cozy and bedding was SO COZY! Slept great. Ate great. So quiet and parking spot.
My husband and I were having a weekend getaway while hiking in the area. We stumbled across this amazing inn and it was the best thing about our trip. The place was clean, comfortable, interesting, and very welcoming! Shelly, the host was amazing and attentive to everything we needed. Our room was perfect! Well-appointed, interesting, and full of history. (Every room is different). We enjoyed wine on our private balcony. The place was full of paintings and sculptures. The beds were extremely comfortable. But the grand finale was a superb breakfast-- just over the top! We can't wait to return.
What a great experience! My wife and I spent 4 nights at the Ben Conger Inn this past weekend. The property is absolutely gorgeous, very well maintained and furnished with fine antiques. Our room was in the Dempsey House. It was a great size, with a very comfortable bed, gas fireplace and expansive deck with a view of the wooded grounds. The best part of our stay was the service from the Innkeeper Shelly and the delicious breakfast she served each morning! The Inn location was perfect for our tour of the Finger Lake area, the wineries, lakes and falls. Do not hesitate to book a room at this well run inn, you will not be disappointed!!
Checked in earlier than anticipated and still received a warm welcome. Shelly gave an easy rundown on when and where breakfast would be served. Our room was amazing, clean and homey. This place has amazing art work and overall friendly staff and adorable gift shop. Food 10/10 Hospitality 10/10 wish I could've stayed longer
We had the most wonderful time at Benn Conger Inn. The room was clean and spacious, and at night we could see the fireflies from our balcony. Shelley was very welcoming and made a great breakfast (don't forget to try a cookie - they were incredible!). Would love to visit again.

We had a wonderful stay! Beautiful place, full of charm. The room was fantastic and the breakfast was amazing. We will stay there again!
We spent a week at the inn recently while visiting my wife's relatives. The owners are very friendly and helpful, and the accommodations are clean, comfortable, and quiet. We enjoyed a variety of large, well-prepared breakfasts served daily, and we all gathered for an excellent evening meal in one of their gorgeous dining rooms. A very pleasant stay!
My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Ben Conger Inn while visiting the Finger Lakes area. Drew and Russ were wonderful hosts, and the made to order breakfasts were amazing !!! Beautiful rooms and furnishings !! Can't wait to visit again !!
The Ben Conger is absolutely beautiful inside. We stayed in the guest house. It's under new management, and they addressed everything we asked promptly. I would gladly stay here again. We like to do 1 to 2 night getaways, and this worked perfectly.
We brought the family down for an Easter Egg hunt in the field followed by brunch. The hunt was wonderfully organized and run by a man, who I assumed was the owner. He was extremely pleasant and clearly showed he loved what he did. The prizes we got for the kids were great, we even got a few extra from the left overs. The brunch was very good too, the food was delicious. The staff was friendly and accommodating.
My boyfriend and I just spent a long weekend at The Benn Conger Inn. The room was gorgeous, incredibly clean, and the breakfast was awesome! Such a positive experience, we’ll definitely be back!
The property is beautiful and every detail is taken care of. The place is quite remote, so it is for people who like the quietness and willing to drive 20 minutes for dinner. Drew was an excellent host.
Isn’t it really all about the service? How you’re greeted, & how you’re treated? Being an innkeeper is a people business, & the management at the Benn Conger Inn hit the jackpot with cousin Shelley. Shelley is a tireless, good humored people-person who is devoted to her responsibilities and her guests. This newly wedded couple has nothing in the way of media subscriptions - no Netflix, no TV, no nothing. But Shelley generously found a way for this Bills fan to see the Sunday night game. She didn’t have to do that, but she’s committed to seeing that her guests are spoiled. Enough towels & washcloths? Of course. Breakfast at the ready? Check. Smiles & a sense of humor? Comes naturally. My bride already informed Shelley that we’ll be back next October. Maybe we’ll see you there.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Benn Conger Inn. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The food is excellent and Shelly and Drew made us feel right at home! We look forward to returning when back in the area!
This bed and breakfast is located in a quiet, out of the way New York village, but it is 100% worth a little extra driving. My room was a beautiful blend of carved wood furniture, tray ceilings and chair rails, reminiscent of the past, but the fireplace had been modernized to gas, and turned on with the flip of a switch. The bathroom had a jetted tub and a rain head shower. The mattress was very, very comfortable. I was relaxed and happy. Breakfast the next morning was held in the beautiful solarium. A very generous buffet offered coffee, juices, teas, milk, and fruits such as oranges, grapes, and watermelon. (I haven't listed them all.) There was coffeecake (that was absolutely one of the tastiest I've ever eaten), as well as a wide variety of muffins, breads and cold cereals. That was just the start. I was also offered "made to order" eggs, omlettes, pancakes, French toast and hot cereal choices. I was very happy. I would be delighted to go again and again.
We stayed in the first floor suite at this lovely establishment and all I can say is wow! We took the room for one night heading to Niagara Falls and we are recommending this place to everyone. The room itself was amazing- it had a whirlpool tube and a fireplace. The view was green and soothing- looking right out into the nature and the best part our three small kids could run around outside while mom and dad could take a breather hehe. The next morning we had a lovely breakfast prepared fresh and we felt welcomed and loved. We will most definitely be staying here when we come back, and if you’re in the area you should add this location to your list. 5/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟
I would absolutely recommend this inn. Get out of the cookie cutter chain hotels and experience the charm of this inn. Your hostess/inn keeper will make you glad you stayed. A cool place with a cool story.
We loved staying at the Ben Conger Inn. It is a beautiful mansion with very comfortable rooms and beds. The rooms were spotless. We were traveling back home from New England and decided to stop here for the night. This was our favorite accommodation during our entire vacation. Just luxurious. The staff are so attentive and friendly. We also loved the breakfast in the sunroom. It’s not every day that you get to dine in a an old mansion and everything was wonderful. I highly recommend staying here. We will be back.
I am writing to express my sincere appreciation for the exceptional stay I had at your inn recently. My experience was nothing short of wonderful, and I wanted to take a moment to share my feedback. I really enjoyed the the food and service. In conclusion, my stay at your inn was a truly memorable and delightful experience. From the exceptional service to the inviting accommodations and the overall charm of the establishment, every aspect surpassed my expectations. I would highly recommend your inn to anyone seeking a memorable getaway. Thank you once again for providing such a remarkable experience. I look forward to visiting again in the future. Shelley, Innkeeper & Drew, Gen. Mgr. greeted us with much warmth, friendly conversation & tour of the Inn, including gorgeous BRs upstairs & huge windowed breakfast rooms surrounded by views of fabulous outdoor plants & greenery! Everything was very clean & pretty, same as our upstairs room next door at Dempsey House with Queen bed, double person jacuzzi & shower, & our private patio! Shelley cooked to order brkfast included a western omelette, bacon, biscuits, red velvet muffins, bowl of fruit, oj and coffee with many flavors of liquid to add to coffee if desired. We loved our Wed-Thurs visit & meeting a nice couple from Utah that joined us for brkfast! Everything was lovely & clean & it felt like being in a very welcoming home away from home! We plan to be back again a few times in the future when visiting upstate NY relatives again! Thank you Shelley & Drew for your welcoming hospitality!
We enjoyed the comfort and the homey experience staying in the historical Benn Conger Inn. The home was beautifully furnished with period pieces and seamless modern amenities. Drew, Shelly, Russ and Uncle Joe were hospitable in every way imaginable. The breakfasts were delicious. The items were freshly prepared with many options to choose from.
I highly recommend staying at this beautifully cared for Bed and Breakfast . The history of the property was so interesting to hear about from both Drew and Shelly . Both Drew and Shelly really make sure all accommodations are tip top and go above and beyond to meet your needs . I have stayed here several times and every time has been wonderful .
We stayed 3 nights while visiting the Finger Lakes region. This is a family owned B&B & the owner Drew was very friendly & welcoming, Russ the manager/cook/Inn keeper etc... was a wonderful addition. His breakfasts were always freshly made to order and delicious. I would highly recommend staying here.
Wonderful Inn! Relaxing stay! Great breakfast! The room was beautiful and very very clean. The breakfast was delicious. The best part of our stay was how we were welcomed by the family and staff. Communication and attention to detail are unmatched! Thanks for a wonderful time!
The Inn was easy to find using our GPS and we enjoyed driving through towns and villages to our scheduled activities in the Homer NY area. As architecture enthusiasts being able to stay in an historic house was a bonus. The hosts were friendly and gracious. Breakfast was relaxed and delicious with plenty of options for any tastes or dietary needs.
Shelly is the best Inn Keeper we have incountered in a long, long time. 🙌 Great stay and breakfast was spot on.
This was an amazing stay. Rooms are very clean, ac is quiet and cool. The breakfast was amazing and the staff was super friendly. Definitely recommended.
My husband and I recently spent the night here in celebration of our 2-year wedding anniversary. The main house is beautiful and the Victorian house adjacent to the main property was cozy and comfortable (we stayed in the yellow room complete with Jacuzzi tub and balcony). We had dinner at the restaurant that evening - the prime rib was to die for! - and the wait staff was really friendly. They also had a local guitarist/singer playing music throughout the meal, which really added to the atmosphere. After our dinner was finished, the owner even invited us into the bar area for a night cap, some good conversation, and a tour of the house. We felt like a part of the family and would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a great experience!
What an adorable, beautiful, comfortable place. Thank you, Shelley, for such delicious breakfasts and such a warm and welcoming stay. We will be back! 😊♥️
What a quiet, beautiful and spacious place to stay. Groton is a lovely community, close to the Finger Lakes without the hustle and bustle of the tourism.
I experienced a wonderful warm communication with Drew. When we arrive to the place late check in , we fallow the simple steps given by Drew, when we saw the room it was a wonderful filling of a beautiful place looking the past and the up day technology combined. We love it. Pretty and clean.
Really lovely place to stay any time of year. A cozy feel in winter and a large property for outdoor hangouts in the warmer months. Me and my fiancée loved our one night stay here; the only part we didn’t enjoy was having to say goodbye to the place at checkout! :(
What a lovely place to stay the weekend. The place is very charming and what makes it really stand out is the service. Shelley the Innkeeper took a very good care of us and made us feel right at home. We definitely recommend
Room was clean n nicely decorated Enjoyed the balcony Shelley is the most gracious, welcoming hostess-seems to be everywhere! and always ready to offer assistance/answer questions Her breakfast was delicious
Perfect location and very nice experience. Going a little bit back in time with all modern facilities. Bed is just perfect as is breakfast. Shelly (true Beatles fan!) the Innkeeper is just so friendly, you can ask for anything. Thank you 😊
This is such a beautiful place. We were in a rush and only arrived so late and didn't get to fully enjoy. Breakfast is outstanding. Everything is great.
Wonderful accommodations, spacious and comfortable with new mattress! Stayed 4 nights. Enormous breakfasts cooked to order lasted us through until early afternoon fueling us for days of hiking at the numerous state parks.
The Benn Conger Inn is the most lovely place! My husband and I and our full bridal party spent the wedding weekend at the Benn Conger Inn. The rooms are Beautiful, each with its own decoration scheme and personality, and there are lovely common spaces where everyone can gather. We also hosted the wedding brunch here, and the food was delicious. Doug and Peter were an absolute dream to work with. Both were super quick and helpful correspondents via phone and email. They were really friendly, really organized, and never made me feel stressed about any part of the planning process. I'll always associate the Benn Conger Inn with one of the most love-filled weekends of my life, and I can't imagine a more perfect backdrop for spending quality time with dear ones.
Great place to stay if visiting the finger lakes or Ithaca area. We stayed in the 1921 room which was cozy and had everything. TV equipped with Roku with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc. Shelly and Drew were very hospitable and welcoming. Breakfast made to order every morning was delicious. Highly recommend.
Our family of 15 stayed at the Inn this past Memorial Day weekend. We stayed in the Dempsey House which was perfect for our entire family, in that we had 6 private bedrooms all within the same house. The rooms were perfectly furnished and they were immaculate upon check-in. Just as important to the rooms was the service. The individualized attention that was received from the "innkeeper" Shelley was unbelievable. She was from the moment we checked in until the moment we left always enthusiastic and energetic with her prime goal being to please and take care of the guests in any way possible. Drew, the general manager, worked together with Shelly to provide the best service one could ask for. The two of them aimed to please. Drew arranged for a private family dinner function in the dining room and worked with the chef and staff to accommodate the many different food preferences and needs that our extended family has. The Inn is located in a fantastic central location for visiting Ithaca, Cornell, many of the Finger Lakes wineries, breweries and cider houses, as well as the number of parks in the area with hiking trails, waterfalls, gorges, etc. The Benn Conger Inn is recommended at the highest level.
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Benn Conger Inn for a weekend getaway. Our room was like a home-away-from-home, and had all the amenities you could want. We took a day trip to see the Taughannock Falls and the Inn was perfectly located. Our inkeeper, Shelley was wonderful and very welcoming. Several thoughtful touches and her recommendation of dinner at Antlers Restaurant made for a perfect weekend. We will definitely be back, and we highly recommend staying at the Benn Conger.
We were on a two week trip from Texas to New England. When we made our reservations, Drew worked with us and kept in communication to ensure we had the accommodations we needed. His communication with us was priceless. When we got there, Shelley took care of us from the time we walked in the door until we left. She was absolutely amazing! The breakfasts were outstanding and we couldn’t have asked for someone more friendly and helpful than she was. What a phenomenal experience this was!!
The Benn Conger Inn was the perfect place for our family reunion with all the comforts of home. From spacious and extremely comfortable and well appointed rooms to the lovely sitting and dining areas in the lobby our group of 18 couldn’t have asked for more. Each request we made was answered with a Yes, certainly! The catered evening dinner was superb with a nice variety of choices and delicious tasting salmon, chicken, potatoes and vegetables. Each morning we looked forward to a cooked to order breakfast which was always accompanied with fresh fruit and scrumptious homemade muffins. From the minute we arrived until the time we left Drew and Shelley did an amazing job of overseeing our time spent at the Inn. We hope to return on an annual basis and would highly recommend this lovely bed and breakfast. If there were more than five stars I would rate it higher!
We enjoyed a lovely one night stay at this beautifully restored historic inn. Our suite was large, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. Shelly was a delight to talk to, and provided very personalized service. The cook to order breakfast was very good, especially Shelly’s homemade cinnamon rolls. It was very interesting to learn the history of the family connection to the inn, and what a family project it is. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Benn Conger Inn, and hope to return on a future trip!
We spent one delightful night at Benn Conger Inn. The house is lovely outside and inside. It is packed full of modern and very old art. Our suite had a second bedroom and sitting room which was perfect for us since my husband stays up much later than I. Breakfast was delicious and the setting was perfect. Shelly, the innkeeper, made us feel at home. We will be back.
It’s a beautiful old colonial with comfortable modern rooms, TV, good shower, tastefully decorated for Halloween, with books and games available, lovely dining rooms and a thoughtfully appointed breakfast spread, plus hot breakfast to order. Less than 20 minutes to Cortland and 30 minutes to Ithaca in the sleepy town of Groton. Drew and Shelly were very friendly and accommodating hosts. Lovely relaxing stay! There are a lot of rooms available in two houses—would be a fantastic location for a family reunion or event with dinner and accommodations. Sometimes they host event dinners for the public—there was one before we arrived. Wonderful menu!
What a wonderful place to stay! I found myself wanting to stay an additional night in such a warm and inviting Inn. We stayed in the Dempsey house in the Carriage Room. The room was beautiful and the bathroom was huge. Shelley was wonderful and very accommodating! The breakfast was delicious! I hope to be able to come back one day!
We had a fantastic stay at the Benn Conger Inn! Drew the GM was extremely friendly, cordial and a great breakfast chef. Our room was very clean and had great atmosphere! The main house was beautiful enjoyed breakfast on glass enclosed porch. Highly recommend this Bed and Breakfast!
We loved our stay at the Benn Conger Inn this past weekend. We were with several family members and friends. Shelley, the innkeeper, made us all feel right at home. She was extremely attentive and accommodating. She made sure we were all comfortable in our rooms and provided us with delicious breakfasts each morning. Our entire party gave a “shout out” to Shelley for making the weekend such a success!
It was a beautiful wonderful experience getaway for the weekend . The place is incredible beautiful history Very romantic , With excellent service from Shelley if you needed anything Shelley was there to help. Every morning, Shelley Serve us with amazing breakfast It was delicious. I had to end of our day. I had asked to see different rooms and she shared that with us. I would highly recommend it to anyone. How we plan on coming back again
From minute #1, Shelley was the perfect greeter, hostess, and fire pit starter. Her smile and conversational ease was so welcoming! Our room, the Smith Corona Room was clean, fresh, and most comfortable, including a spacious bathroom through a double door entry. Breakfasts in the glass enclosed solarium were a friendly way to begin the day; greeted by Shelley and conversing with other guests. Each breakfast is made to your order requests, and includes homemade muffins and Danishes. It was also a pleasure working with Drew and getting to meet him as well. He graciously inquired about our stay, experienced thus far, and any other needs he could provide us. Although The Benn Conger Inn IS a beautifully preserved historical home, Drew and Shelley will be the "gems" of your visit. Sincerely, Keith and Ericka House Naples, NY
We enjoyed a perfectly delightful few days at the Benn Conger Inn. Inn keeper Shelley is an absolute gem, wonderfully talented in the kitchen...you will love your bountiful breakfast, and the most gracious and hospitable woman! It is indeed a wonderful experience.
My husband and I stayed for 2 nights. Shelly the inn keeper greeted us on first day and made us feel at home. The BennConger Inn was so cozy and the breakfast exceptional! Thank you Shelly for making this stay a must do again! Regards George and Kristen
We truly enjoyed our stay at the Benn Conger Inn. We appreciated the proximity to Homer, where we attended a concert, the peacefulness, as well as access to myriad outdoor activities. We really liked our own private balcony in the Dempsey House, which accentuated our pristinely clean and comfortable (with a great bed) room. Most of all, we appreciated Shelley, the congenial innkeeper, who works tirelessly to meet the needs of guests. She is a one-woman show who graciously keeps the Benn Conger Inn running smoothly. I have no idea how much she earns doing this, but whatever that amount is, it isn't enough to compensate her for both the tangible and intangible things she does to make the Benn Conger Inn a desirable and welcoming place to stay.
This was a beautiful place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. Very beautiful, romantic inn. Shelley and Drew went the extra mile to make our day extra special. Amazingly delicious, relaxed breakfast in the sunroom. And.... the jacuzzi tub actually fits two! We'd definitely recommend the Benn Conger Inn for a romantic getaway.
My husband and I stayed at the Benn Conger Inn for three days during a Finger Lakes vacation with another couple. We stayed in the Dempsey House in rooms with adjoining balconies overlooking a wooded area. Shelly and Drew took good care of us, providing tasty breakfasts and recommendations for restaurants. When a thunderstorm was imminent, Shelly was thoughtful enough to provide us with battery-powered lanterns in case the power went out. I would definitely recommend the Benn Conger Inn to anyone who needs accommodations in this area.
We loved our stay at the Benn Conger Inn! The area near the inn is peaceful and a perfect spot to rest up between hikes. I can’t wait to plan my next vacation to the area.
My girlfriend and i visited the Ben Conger inn this past weekend and it was a great experience. The rooms are very rustic and cool looking, but also well air conditioned and comfortable. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and they make an absolutely fantastic breakfast. If you ever find yourself visiting this area of NY state, i would highly recommend you visit this place.
The hosts couldn't have been nicer or more welcoming! The well-appointed room had a beautiful balcony facing the woods. The breakfast was delicious and included a good selection of fruits, quiches and muffins—all homemade. A true find!!
This place is incredible! Very romantic, individually decorated rooms in an ancient mansion/farmer‘s house with excellent service by Shelley who served us an amazing breakfast, showed us around the houses and was very helpful whenever we needed it. We stayes at the wonderful Dempsey’s house next door. Everything is very unique. Highly recommended!
The rooms are gorgeous and spacious, the breakfast is delicious and bountiful (especially on the weekend), and innkeepers Shelley and Drew are warm and welcoming. The town is a bit isolated, but I'd definitely stay here again if I return to the Finger Lakes.
We stayed at the Inn for a last minute trip to the Finger Lakes. Drew was prompt in getting back to us and very easy to communicate with. Shelley was very welcoming when we arrived. The room was beautifully appointed and vey inviting on a cold spring day. We really appreciated the jacuzzi tub and gas fireplace. Everything was immaculately clean. Keurig in the room was great for coffee in bed! The made to order breakfast was scrumptious with generous portions. Shelley gave us a history fact filled tour of the main inn after breakfast. So fun! We will definitely be back!
Our most common phrase we used over our two night stay was “I feel so spoiled” Shelly took such wonderful care of us we didn’t want to leave! She truly went above and beyond we visited for business, in the morning Shelly catered to our needs even serving breakfast early so we could make it to our event on time then, after a long day we came home to fresh dessert! The rooms are spacious while remaining cozy, beds and linens are very comfortable. The whole home is sparkling clean. This home is rich with history and is a destination in itself!
Shelley is fantastic! She does everything--cooks, cleans, gives info and suggestions and is a warm, friendly person. She set up a fire bowl for us the last night and then brought out all the fixings for s'mores. We liked the coincidence of having the same first name! I look forward to returning to the Benn Conger Inn. Ithaca and the surrounding areas are beautiful.
History buffs place to stay. Clean and beautifully decorated. Shelley is the best host making sure you are welcomed and feel at home. Drew the manager is friendly and runs this historic home like you are part of the family coming to stay. Super selection of fresh foods for breakfast and comfortable bed. For a bed-and-breakfast it was easy to come and go when you need it. I’m looking forward to coming back.
The Benn Conger Inn is a beautiful inn set in a quiet neighborhood. Drew and Shelly are excellent hosts. Shelly is warm and friendly and immediately made us feel at home for our 5 night stay. Shelly's a whirlwind, ensuring all the guests are happy and have what they need. Breakfast was excellent. Thank you for making my cheesy scrambled eggs, Drew! Drew gave us great options for local activities!
Shelley and Drew were great!! Drew provided fast responses and helped us to figure out where exactly we were going, even on a holiday! Shelley gave us a warm welcome and served us some delicious breakfast. Highly recommend staying at the Benn Conger Inn when in town. Rooms were spotless and had everything you need!
Cannot praise Benn Conger Inn enough. The Inn is beautiful, Shelley was extremely cordial and helpful and breakfast was delicious. It is exactly what a historic B and B should be.
The setting and the rooms are delightful. It’s the perfect spot for peace and quiet and relaxation The main house has a lovely dining area and the breakfast is delightful. This house is very elegant with an amazing art collection. It’s like stepping back in time I look forward to returning for another relaxing stay
If you're in the Groton/Ithaca area, there's no better choice than the Benn Conger. The room was absolutely incredible with all the amenities you could think of. Breakfast was delicious as well. More than anything, the service was superb with the host being incredibly accommodating and welcoming. I highly recommend it, and the price can't be beat.
We spent two nights at this lovely old inn over the Fourth of July weekend. Shelley is a wonderful host. We even enjoyed an hour visiting with her as we watched the fireworks from the front lawn. We would definitely return for another stay when we are in the area.
This was a wonderful bed & breakfast. Visited in early July. Never stayed at a bed & breakfast before. I absolutely would go back again next time we are up there visiting. Variety of size rooms to choose from. Comfortable beds, plenty of parking. Shelley greeted us, showed us to our room, explained hotel areas for us to use outside & inside. She was always there if you needed her. Lovely person. Breakfast was served in the atrium, which was lovely. Plenty to choose from from fruit to muffins, waffles, & your choice of fresh made breakfast as well daily.
An amazing stay for a wedding in the finger lakes. The family that runs the inn could not have done more to make us and our guests welcome. They attended to many requests with grace and good nature. It is a beautiful, tasteful house. The breakfasts were delicious and the rehearsal dinner was lovely. Highly recommended.
We stayed two nights at this beautiful estate inn, and from the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Shelley, the concierge, who is truly the heart and soul of this one-of-a-kind place. She personally introduced herself, gave us a tour of the property, and made sure we felt right at home. Each morning, we were greeted with a delightful spread for breakfast—fresh fruit, muffins, warm cinnamon bread, and a variety of egg options, all beautifully prepared and delicious. The inn itself is decorated majestically, with elegant paintings, unique artwork, and antique furniture that gives it a charming Victorian feel. Our room was no exception—beautifully appointed with vintage touches, comfortable beds, and kept impeccably clean. Between the exceptional service, the enchanting atmosphere, and the overall comfort, I truly wouldn’t stay anywhere else when visiting the area again.
Wonderful bed and breakfast about 20 minutes outside of Ithaca. Hosts were especially accomodating and provided anything you asked. Breakfast was delicious and made to your liking each morning. Rooms were inviting, clean, cozy, and spacious. Stayed in the Margaret Ann suite which had two bedrooms and a sitting area with a pullout, single bed. Traveled with my 17 yo daughter who appreciated having her own space. Keurig machine, mini fridge and microwave in the room as well. Highly recommend staying here.
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary trip and it was a great choice! The inn keepers and GM were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. We loved being 20 minutes from all that there is to do in Ithaca while staying in a very private, quiet inn with a beautiful view, especially in the Dempsey Suite. There was plenty of food for breakfast with a nice mix of sweet treats and savory filling food, with coffee and juice (I also loved that breakfast was served between 8-9:30 and not at the crack of dawn!).
This B&B is located in the finger lakes area, about 20 minutes from Ithaca in a lovely, charming village community. We got a suite in the adjacent building, The Dempsey House, which was fine. Suite was spacious with a wraparound balcony overlooking the very pleasant and tranquil yard. Shelly, the person in charge, is very hospitable, helpful and accommodative. Restaurant staff is also very attentive. Breakfast menu and buffet choices are somewhat limited but sufficient. We were looking for a quiet, comfortable place and this Inn absolutely provides that. Will definitely stay here again when we are in this area.
Great stay, quiet and clean, the inn keepers and staff treat guests like extended family, friendly and personable. We will definitely keep Benn Conger Inn in mind for future Finger Lakes stays!
What a lovely bed and breakfast! The Inn Keeper, Shelly, gave us the most gracious welcome. We loved the Conger Suite - perfect for a family of 3. Shelly greeted us the next morning and served our delicious cooked to order breakfast with a smile. Shout out to the kind man I spoke to me on the phone as well! He checked on our anticipated arrival and started our stay off on the right foot. Superior service all around!
My husband and I enjoyed two nights at the Benn Conger Inn, staying in the Carriage Room. It was lovely! We enjoyed how peaceful the area is. Easy access to Ithaca/surrounding state parks/waterfalls.
This was our first time staying at the Benn Conger Inn and it certainly won’t be our last. My husband and I were visiting our daughter at Ithaca College and found the Inn by chance online. Lucky us! Drew and Shelley love what they do and it shows! They could not have taken better care of us. Drew was quick to return a phone call or respond to an email and happily answer any questions and take care of any need we had. Shelley is a marvelous hostess! She breezes about tending to all the guests and their needs, making sure everything is perfect. We were so surprised at what a fabulous breakfast was provided! In a world of hurry up and go we felt compelled to relax and enjoy our morning and take in our surroundings. The in is beautiful as well as the view from the dinning room. We only stayed one night but felt relaxed and refreshed and looking forward to our next stay. Thank you Drew and Shelley!
We were checking in late and the staff was extremely accommodating. The room was beautiful and they even sent us a reminder for breakfast the next morning.
Our stay at the Inn was perfect! The Inn is in a lovely setting. Quiet and comfortable. Shelley was wonderful and made us feel welcome and right at home. Breakfast was great with an enticing variety of fresh fruit daily. We hosted a family lunch at the Inn and Drew and Shelley were very accommodating to our needs. Our family had a great time and we would highly recommend the Inn for a gathering or great place to stay for a getaway. J Davis & family
Beautiful place inside and out. Decorated beautifully with paintings and antiques. Bed and pillows were very comfy. Spacious rooms and very clean. Hosts Lori and Drew were very accommodating. Breakfast was delicious. Nice country setting. Highly recommend!
The setting and the rooms are delightful. It’s the perfect spot for peace and quiet and relaxation The main house has a lovely dining area and the breakfast is delightful. This house is very elegant with an amazing art collection. It’s like stepping back in time I look forward to returning for another relaxing stay

We enjoyed our stay at the Benn Conger Inn. The Inn has a lot of charm and character. The breakfasts were excellent. Drew and Shelley were welcoming and attentive hosts.
This review is a "Serious Catch-22" scenario! (4-1/2 Stars)!!! When you find a place that is calming, a home away from home (Atlanta, GA), you want to keep it to yourself! That would be quite selfish on my part so at the risk of being shutout of a newly found gem I must share my experience! I attended Syracuse, Cornell and Ithaca College and after landing in Syracuse with my two grandsons we visited SU and headed to Ithaca and saw a Groton, 6 miles sign and headed to Conger Inn to check in! We were greeted by the incomparable Shelly! Weeks before taking off I was contacted by Drew, the manager and he accommodated us by switching us to the main building (Conger Suite) where three (3) males would be more comfortable and so it begins! Groton for me was a perfect spot as we had options to visit Cortland, Ithaca and of course, Syracuse... all three (3) on my radar! Groton is very small and is a great place to rest your head...for quality eating and entertainment head to those other places (Cortland?), except for breakfast...stay home at Conger Inn! Shelly sits down with you in this opened glassed-in dinning area! She asked to our surprise what else we'd like for breakfast after the nicely displayed continental treat we just enjoyed! What a nice surprise...eggs any style, omelets, pancakes, French toast...yummy! My grandson and daughter are major chefs in Atlanta and my son and I have ties to the travel industry hence, we know quality food, service, cleanliness and accommodation... we enjoyed our stay! We had a little challenge with the TV reception which was explained! Now you understand my "Catch-22" scenario! I have a tentative date to be back in Ithaca, Spring 2023, so don't stay/OK, STAY HERE..I just didn't want to be locked out my next trip to Syracuse and Ithaca! Respectfully, D. M. Byron Sr. 4-1/2 Stars...easily!
Overnight getaway to Benn Conger Inn. Stayed in the Dempsey house in the Welthea Marsh Suite. Had small issue with internet service but Drew responded quickly to resolve. Room was cozy and comfortable. Would suggest removing the foot board on the bed so you can see and enjoy the gas fireplace. Could use a little TLC on the bathroom floor and deck flooring and railings on the porch outside need a little paint, but understand they are undergoing renovations. Very quiet relaxing, solitude area/setting. Cute downtown area. Not far to Cortland where we had dinner at the Hollywood Restaurant. Best part of our stay was breakfast by Shelley. She was amazing...she takes care of everything...what a true gem. She deserves a raise and some additional help!! She makes you feel so welcomed and truly cares about you having a wonderful stay. Food was great and plentiful. Not only does she have things out for you to choose from (quiche, fruit, yogurt, cereal, cinnamon roll french toast, juice, etc) you can also pick things to have cooked to order. Enjoyed learning the history of the inn and look forward to seeing all the new improvements on our next visit.
Buyer Beware! If you think you are booking a room in the Grand & beautiful Benn Conger Inn, think again! Upon arrival, we were told that our room was, actually, in the ugly stepchild to the Inn, the Dempsey House! The Dempsey House is an old ordinary house with few amenities. In the morning, we had to walk next door to the Benn Conger Inn to have breakfast. The only common area at the Dempsey House is a small room with a microwave and a refrigerator, as those amenities are not available in your room. The room was nice with a gas FP and spa tub but the shower stall was so small you couldn't move in it. Breakfast was good and the Inn Keeper was pleasant, but unfortunately, the weekend visit fell very short of our expectations!
