Luckily we had a reservation as it was pretty crowded. We went in the bar for a drink and they came and got us. Very nice dinner and drinks. We would return.

Amazing dinner / anniversary celebration! Unforgettable experience. Service was excellent, the atmosphere was very warm and welcoming, the view is beautiful for sure. The food was delicious! Also definitely a bonus watching my wife's excitement about the piano player!!!

My husband and I live right in town and have been wanting to try this place for a long time. Decided we would finally go the day after Christmas, since we spent Christmas apart (He had to work.) The food was amazing. I got the salmon and he got the rack of lamb. I usually don't care for lamb much, but this was cooked perfectly (med rare) and dipped in the sauce, it was really good. My salmon was also amazing. For apps we got the charcuterie plate, which was great, but kind of small. Having said that, it was enough for the two of us, but I wouldn't suggest it for more than two people. The jam was my favorite. We also got a caesar salad, which was great. For dessert we got the creme brulee, very tasty. Service was very friendly and efficient. The only negative I would say is that we had a reservation for 7:30. They told us it would be 10-15 minutes, which was fine, but it ended up being 30 minutes. We noticed that everyone that had a reservation had the same issue. Reading through other reviews it doesn't seem like this was a one time occurrence. Not sure why they continue to take reservations if they can't honor the time you reserve. Anyways, it wasn't a huge deal for us since we weren't in a hurry. Just figured I would mention it so others will have a heads up. So if you make a reservation here, maybe make it for 30 minutes earlier than when you want to eat. I didn't take any stars off since we weren't in a hurry, plus everything else was fantastic.

For a free breakfast this place had a pretty decent selection! When we were there a reservation was required. Just an FYI, Not sure if that’s an all the time thing. If the weather was behaving I’m sure the views would have been amazing. But we just got a full view of the snow building up before we hit Brentwood’s. The next day was pretty clear but of corse we were on our way out. So we got a quick glimpse of the panoramic views. I would definitely recommend stopping in here for the breakfast if you stay here!

Ate at the ledges on a Monday night when everything was closed in the North Conway area. So happy I stumbled upon this gem! After a day of hiking the chili was a perfect quick appetizer to settle my grumbly belly (bigger than an appetizer portion). Ordered crab cakes for my main - veggies cooked to perfection - and for desert, a Godiva bomb “to go” since I was stuffed! Our waitress was absolutely amazing - I forget her name but she said she only works Mondays. Great bar to order a cocktail while you wait for your reservation. Already plan on returning for a round of golf and a bowl of that chili next time I am visiting in the area.

All the food was great, it’s nice you can make a reservation here! We were about 10 mins early for our reservation so they had us wait in the bar next door which we loved! The wine tree is very cute. The service was a bit slow, I think our waitress was slammed I felt for her. My uncle LOVED their prime rib special, and I thought their veggie sandwich and French onion soup were really good! Great for a special occasion, was not expensive either. I would love to come back this summer!

Excellent restaurant. Nice menu with great choices. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have an expansive wine list with good selections. And you can't beat the view of the Valley.

Had dinner here for our Anniversary-very courteous, and promptly host and server. Dinner took about 50 minutes to come out after ordered, but given the lack of staff across the US, it's to be expected. The food was amazing! I wish we could have seen the view, but it was night, so we just enjoyed the paino playing!

We loved the food, the waitstaff and the atmosphere! The hostess was wonderful too! We will definitely be back when we’re in the area and highly recommend!!!

Busy, but with a reservation we got in right on time.service was great and the prime rib special was delicious! 58 bucks though, so the tab came to 100 plus tip for two people.

Good breakfast, and great dinner. Staff was friendly, food was delicious and they had a decent beer selection. Great views as well.

Eight of us traveling together have enjoyed many special places around the USA. The Ledges Restaurant in the White Mountain Hotel is right up there as one of our favorites. Dinner favorites ranged from the butternut squash soup, stuffed haddock, the veggie wrap with peanut sauce, to delicious burgers and pulled pork sandwiches that were surprising delicious. They also have cocktails and a nice selection of beers. We had supper here twice and breakfast five times. We had Leslie or Kayla taking care of us with smiles and personal care. Everyday specials included wonderful omelets. We love their coffee. Even the oatmeal was made just right ... well for us anyway. We added the raisins and brown sugar to to oatmeal ... the bacon was crisp and sausage flavorful and cooked through. All eight of us recommend the Ledges for the good food. BUT we also LOVED that the seating area is surrounded by large clean windows where can view out over the forests and countryside. In October it is a very special eye candy .... And YES !! we enjoyed the Ledges Restaurant.

Went here for our wedding anniversary dinner. They had two specials that were taylor made for us - prime rib and seafood pasta. My honey was very happy with her huge, tender, tasty steak. My seafood pasta was exceptional - shrimp, scallops, and lobster in a creamy lobster stew type of sauce. I raved about it through the entire meal. Our server was very pleasant and helpful despite being very busy. Our salads were good. The Godiva Mousse Bomb was a real treat. I had the house Cab Sav and really enjoyed it. I was told they had a new chef - apparently an excellent one based on my experience. Looking forward to going back.

Wow! Great atmosphere. Nice scenery. Food cooked to perfection and our server Miranda was attentive but not overly so! Actually Miranda was the best server if our 8 day stay in N Conway. If you plan to go there book early and have an alternate day because they fill up fast. Thank you Ledges for a fantastic 33rd anniversary memory. We shall return!

My wife and I went there for a 10 year anniversary. She ordered the filet mignon came with fingerling potatoes and carrots, absolutely magnificent. I got the chefs cut which was a bison sirloin with green beans and mashed potatoes, it was absolutely to die for hands-down, the best steak I’ve had in my life. if anyone was thinking about Coming to ledges for a dinner I Implore you to do so. You will not be disappointed thank you again for making our night memorable. We will return soon.

My husband and I dined at Ledges many times during our recent stay at the hotel. We loved both the restaurant and hotel. I did find that we still had to wait a bit to be seated despite having reservations, but no big deal because they have an inviting lobby with a fireplace to lounge with cocktails while you wait. What I love about Ledges is the spectacular view, the tasty food (the burger is great!), good wine and a piano player on the Fri & Sat nights we were there. It just all made for a relaxing and memorable experience. If it weren't a 3+ hours drive away, we'd be regulars!

This was our second visit to Ledges and first since the hiring of the new chef. What a difference. Now rating this place tops. The seafood chowder is good, the iceberg wedge was great, the crab cakes were filled with meat rather than breadcrumbs and the lamb was perfectly cooked with a delicious gravy that suited the mash potatoes well, although those spuds were overly whipped with little texture (only minor critic). The view is amazing & the service remains professional & friendly. Thanks Miranda & trainee (super young lady with great personality, sorry I missed your name).

We did a 75th family birthday celebration at Ledges. It has a beautiful view. Overall the food was good and reasonable for a nicer dining experience. They serve prime steaks for ~$50 compared to most high end steakhouses that are approaching $100.

Always love eating at the Ledges..good food, lots of choices, great atmosphere, great views. The service is always good but this time our waiter, Paul, went above and beyond. Very attentive...made you feel like you were his only table.

The French onion soup is literally the best I have ever had. The duck is amazing

We had the latest available reservations on Thanksgiving, and were excited to dine at Ledges during our holiday getaway. As can sometimes happen, reservations got backed up and we did end up waiting about 45 minutes. But the staff was friendly and were working their butts off to accommodate not only their their hotel guests, but non-guests with reservations like us, and walk ins looking for dinner at one of the few places open on Thanksgiving Day. But we sat in the lovely lobby enjoying the crackling fire in the big stone fireplace. There is a sports bar adjacent to the restaurant but we were reluctant to sit in there in case we missed our name being called. However, we could have gone in and ordered a drink and brought it back out to the lobby if we had wanted to. Our name was eventually called and we were seated at a table for two in the large dining room. It was dark when we were there, but I can imagine the lovely view from the wall of windows in the semicircular dining room facing the cliff ledges that give the restaurant its name. This was not a buffet dinner but had a fixed menu with several choices of appetizer, main course and dessert for a flat price of $49 per person. Not an exorbitant price for the area. As is often the case when you are a late diner, a few of the items were sold out, including our first choice prime rib, but we expected this could happen, so had our second choices planned for everything. For an appetizer I chose the salad which was just the right size. It included kale, beets, roasted brussel sprouts, with a light vinaigrette. A little goat cheese sprinkled in would have made it perfect. My boyfriend enjoyed the corn chowder which is a restaurant specialty. There were 5 entree choices: turkey, prime rib, stuffed haddock, ham and a vegan option butternut (maybe pumpkin?) risotto. With the prime rib sold out, we both ordered the turkey dinner which was more delicious than either of us expected. The turkey was plentiful and moist and sat atop a bed of amazing sausage stuffing. The gravy, which covered the mashed red bliss potatoes, turkey and dressing was to die for. Best restaurant gravy I've ever had. Butternut squash and green beans rounded out the meal. We were both so full by the time dessert arrived that we just ate a few bites; apple Betty with vanilla ice cream for me and bourbon pecan pie for my partner. Hats off to the chefs and kitchen staff for producing a dinner that was obviously made with care (I wondered how many turkeys they had to cook!) and absolutely delicious. Even being some of the latest diners, our food didn't taste like it had been sitting around under a heat lamp but was freshly plated and hot. We truly appreciated the staff members who were friendly and working so hard to accommodate the many diners. I'd definitely dine here again. Next time I hope to make it during the day to appreciate the amazing view as well as the delicious food.

Excellent place for breakfast and dinner. The view and decor are stunning. For dinner, the charcuterie board is excellent, I had a cold soup special (cucumber and dill) which was the best tasting soup I’ve had in years. Our filet with mushrooms was cooked perfectly and delicious. Everything from apps to dessert are great. This restaurant gets even better each time we come. Breakfast French toast is excellent! Great wait staff at both meals who were kind and funny. We will return.

Was t crowded when we were there and the service was attentive without being overwhelming. Coffee was superb, buffet was wonderful. The eggs Benedict from the kitchen, deliciously rich. Waffle was made fresh, baked potato bar at breakfast was novel and tasty. Bartender made a perfect bloody Mary.

We’ve dined at this restaurant in the past and have enjoyed our meals. This year we decided to come up for Thanksgiving and have dinner there. We had reservations for 5:15 PM. When we got to the hotel, the waiting area was packed with a lot of people. We waited1 hour and 15 minutes and we were finally sat at our table at 6:30 PM. Seems like they overbooked the amount of people. They should’ve been going around the waiting area, offering people a complementary cocktail or a glass of wine or some sort of beverage. A lot of people in the waiting area sounded very frustrated. We finally sat down and our server came over and she was very nice. Obviously tired and overworked from a very stressful day. I can’t remember her name, but she had long blond hair, was very pleasant and had a nice smile. By the time we sat, the dining area started thinning out. By the way, we like the remodel and the redecorating! My partner had the corn chowder for an appetizer, and I had the beet salad. He enjoyed his corn chowder, and I thought the beet salad was excellent. I could have had another one and I would’ve been satisfied! We both started with a glass of wine. My partner wanted to order the prime rib, but our server told him that it was probably medium well so he decided not to order that and we both had the turkey dinners. I have to say that the food was very good. The kitchen must’ve been working really hard to get the meals out. We had asked for bread because we saw it at other tables, but by the time it was our turn there was no bread left. For dessert my partner had the pecan whiskey tart and I had the pumpkin cheesecake. Both of them were excellent, but I wish I had ordered the pecan whiskey tart because it was extra tasty . Before the tip it was $179. Overall, not a bad experience, but the wait was a bit of an inconvenience.

A classy place with a beautiful view of the mountains. The food was visually lovely, but needed a little salt. Good atmosphere, and a nice little bar as well.

Excellent restaurant for dinner in the White Mountain Hotel and Resort. We enjoyed our food, but found the air conditioning too cold for our tastes. Perhaps a table seating away from the windows would not be directly under the overhead vents. Try the Cuban sandwich for a delicious entree and the Gelato to finish the evening.

Gary Cliff

The food was great. However, the baked potato had nothing on it. No seasonings, no butter on the potato nor did anyth8ng come with it. The pianist or shall i say the piano was way too loud. Conversation was brought to a halt due to.it being way too loud.

We came here a couple of times because we stayed at the hotel and we always had a good meal. The service is somewhat slow because they are short staffed, but the food definitely makes up for that.

We came for an after wedding dinner. My $56 steak was not tempped correctly. Rare should not be close to medium well. The crab cakes and appetizers were great. Service was excellent. I was surprised by how limited the selection of alcohol and beer there was. Overall, I found the price to be overly expensive for the product they delivered. The wait staff was exceptional.

This is a nice restaurant. The food was good but, took a little long to come out. Our 4 course seafood dinner took a little over 2 hours from start to finish. The raw seafood appetizer was very good as was the shrimp bisque. The tuna tartare salad was delicious. The bread pudding was phenomenal. They have a good kids menu. The live piano player made the night wonderful. He is an extremely nice guy and talented player. He came over to talk with us a few times which the kids really enjoyed. We were there at night so we couldn’t enjoy the views of the ledge. They have a good beer, wine and cocktail menu as well.

Casual dinning.. We had high expectations when making reservations here for dinner. My significant other and I were dinning in celebration of our anniversary. We arrived and seated immediately but only to find the other diners dressed in what was very close to their pajamas. Our server was nice and the food was okay. I found the selection to choose from basic. I wanted an upscale experience unfortunately didn't receive this here..

The resturant is located about a 10 min drive out of town if you're staying in North Conway. The restyrant is beautiful and perfect for an quiet intimate dinner. Service was a bit slower than I would expect considering it wasn't very busy. I had the jack frost which is pictured and was delicious. I ordered the steak tips and asked for mashed potatoes instead of french fries. All were delicious. If it weren't for the slow service I would have given them 4 stars.

Went here for my husband’s birthday. Made a reservation months in advance with being outside as my selection. Arriving early for a 645p reservation, we were told it would be about 15 mins of wait, which was fine. They offered the bar area or out in the lobby seating. We waited more than that and believe we saw our reservation be taken by another couple as when we finally got seated (after coming up to the host desk a second time) we were seated inside. Husband heard, well they are not here at the host desk. When we were where we said we were going to be! If you don’t plan on honoring the reservation or getting the people, that’s a problem. It was a special night and I feel like they just didn’t care. Food was good overall, however $18 for a charcuterie plate is a lot for what was presented. I have been to many places and got one for the same price and had more food and selection. I think for the price, there should be more food and options. Lastly, the wait. It seems like everything is in slow motion. The drinks, the apps, the mains, the desert. Almost spend 3 hours in the restaurant. I think that’s a bit of a long meal. There were tons of bartenders but it felt like the other staff was stretched thin. For an established that looked like this, there should be a more streamlined workflow.

We thought the food and table service were good. The hostess was the one notable weakness. We arrived at 545 for a 6pm sitting and she refused to sit us to 6pm and was rude about it. Scowling the whole time. If there was an issue with a server not being available early we would have understood but she gave no reason- just scoffed and scowled at us and basically signaled us to go away and come back when she was ready. Off putting and rude behavior in an otherwise nice evening .

On August 3rd at 5pm we had a drink at the bar awaiting a seating for dinner. The drinks were good but the appetizer ( large shrimp were not fresh but tasted soggy & recently unfrozen) The seating at 5:30 did little to improve on the experience. 1: the steak & cheese sandwich was dry and impossible to eat as a sandwich(gluten free roll) 2: the hamburger was requested as medium rare ( it arrived very well done). The server agreed and offered a replacement but I declined not wanting to drag out dinner any longer.” 3: the requesting a credit card to hold a reservation was not received well. I held out giving this and made the reservation at 5:30. 4. The decafe coffee was undrinkable. To the Ledges credit the option of having gluten free options was fantastic, Thank you ms Sullivan for the nice response to my August 3rd review. We have been coming to the ledges and the Hotel for over 30 yrs and only expected and desired the same expectations , never more . It must be difficult to maintain that same level. Ralph Atwood

First the positive; the dining room is lovely with great view. The restrooms are very clean. In general staff do seem hard working and do try to please. Next my concerns; My wife and I had reservations but it still took 55 mins to get a table. I don't mind waiting a little but after 20 mins that seem too long for reservations. Next the food was just mediocre. The prime rib was over cook, there was no pink left. The little mashed potatoes I got were just OK, not much favor. The string beans were very under cooked, even after the waitress got me new one. The drinks were weak. I was expecting better.

Lovely space and great views. Still a ton of growing pains for wait and kitchen staff. 730 reservation and seating. Asked for the wine book ordered a bottle which after checking they didn't have. We asked for suggestions for a similar wine and said she didn't know that wine list. We ordered a grocery store brand we knew. 2 of the 8/9 entrees were not available. We placed our orders and after a 40 minute wait, asking our waiter, and her having her manager expediting our order we finally got our house salad and Caesar salad. We were told that our entrees hadn't been placed in yet. By that point we told them to cancel our meals and within 30 minutes had food from a local restaurant door dashed to our room. They refunded us for our package, but it was a big disappointment for what was supposed to be the nice night on our road trip.

D

Slow… understaffed. Never ever tell anyone “that’s not my job” when you ask for a basic thing like another drink. Maybe try, “let me get the bartender for you”. When our dinner finally came out after 45min wait, it was not hot so guessing it sat for a while in the kitchen. I don’t blame the wait staff because they were truly running around like crazy. Hire more people please. As for food, salad was fine but steak tips came out charred when it was ordered medium well.

We came here for our anniversary. The waiter was fantastic and even asked to call the manager over when he knew we were not happy. (Ian) We waited for a good 30-40 minutes for our entree. This did not make us happy. But it was late and there was no manager left for us to speak to. We paid and left. Our biggest problem was the award winning seafood chowder. It tasted like it didn’t have any salt or seasoning at all. So it was bland and I barely tasted any actual seafood. So my advice is talk to the chef and show him what seasonings are. The bread also tasted alittle stale. After spending 120 dollars here pretty disappointed we probably will not go back. Thanks!

Unless you’re a “fancy restaurant” type of person, I would not recommend this place. The food was good, but the portion sizes are absolutely ridiculous. I ordered the crab cakes and they were bite size for 50 bucks!!!!! Our waiter also made a very inappropriate comment to us about how quickly i ate my food. He didn’t take into account how small the meal was and asked me if i “pushed my food onto the floor” because it was gone so quick. I haven’t eaten all day and i was very hungry. If you want to spend a fortune, then come here to eat.

Yikes! Got takeaway food from here tonight to bring back to our room. Friendly female worker on phone fielded a bunch of questions as we have several food allergies. Said we would get a call in 20-30min to pick up. Went down to bar after 45 min or so to inquire as my kids were getting hangry. Male bartender treated me like a 5 year old. "Well, did you get a text or call yet? Because you would have if it were ready". He was extremely condescending. Could never suggest anyone have to engage with him or come here. Asked to talk to management at hotel and was told they would be in touch with me in 30 min. No one called or came to room after that despite leaving my contact information. Salmon dinner was very basic and overpriced for $36. Mussels were ok, french onion soup was good. Mediocre food + bad service = pass every time.

Local of over 30 years. Dined here in October and the meal was fabulous. Thanksgiving dinner was another story. It was obvious corners were cut to "deal" with the number of reservations made. The food tasted like cafeteria food. (ie Mashed potatoes def not homemade, stuffing was terrible) I felt so bad as my daughter and her family flew in from CA (our 1st Thanksgiving together in 8 years!) and they were very disappointed as well. We were seated in the back room which wasn't appealing either. Staff seemed tired and put out. VERY expensive meal. The whole experience was just a-w-f-u-l. I'm not one for bad reviews, but this had to be said.

K
Keri Crowley

Let’s start from the beginning, 35 min wait before we even got seated. Another 20 min before we were even addressed from the server. Then a waitress commented “oh! are you a 715 reservation?!” Sounds like they over booked. Food was mediocre at best. He got steak with mashed potatoes and a carrot, MPs were DRY. I got the vegan butternut squash linguini, clearly they don’t think vegans deserve flavor in their food. I left the restaurant hungry. 2 hours after my arrival time. Never again. I’ll take a hike in the wall tavern any day over this. My server was lovely but she knew I wasn’t happy and strategical avoided ever asking me directly “how is everything?” I guess my body language spoke enough. Check out the chickpeas and olive oil I attached. Mind you I ate all the linguini and the 4 broccoli.

Had it not been for a thirty second interaction with the food and beverage manager (Kerri?), this would be a rock-solid and unqualified five star review. The food is exceptional, and fairly priced considering the location and the typical "tourism tax" places in North Conway like to add to their food. (The desserts are priced below what to-go ice cream costs in-town, for heaven's sake!) The atmosphere and views are terrific. The restaurant is well appointed and the views over towards Cathedral Ledge or Cranmore are lovely. Even the service was terrific. Alexia (if I recall) was a friendly, attentive, and helpful waitress. The only odd thing was that she came back for the signed check/receipt before we'd finished our drinks. At the time I thought nothing of it. Other restaurants have done the same thing, especially if the waitress is approaching the end of their shift. I thought back to this when Kerri came over.  Again, we'd paid our check and my wife was finishing her drink. She had about three sips left when Kerri introduced herself ... and then essentially threw us out. Not quite so rudely, mind you, but she said she needed the table for another reservation, half-heartedly offered to seat us over in the bar, and then was immediately irritated we didn't get up immediately. (For some added context, it was barely 7:15pm on a 6:00pm reservation that we'd shown up 20 minutes early to. Apparently, you only have sixty minutes to eat here.) Interestingly, I never saw her approach the table next to us (who had been there longer). I suspect they were guests of the hotel, which obviously made them better than us "riff-raff" from the street. Unless the next diners were the hotel owners, board members for country club, or some sort of head of state, I've got no other explanation for the way we were treated. Because of my interaction with Kerri, the very first thing I will remember is not the delicious risotto, excellent drinks, tasty food, or decadent desserts. Nope. The first thing I'll think of when someone says The Ledges is, "Oh, that place where the food and beverage manager was so incapable of reading the table that she couldn't see we were three sips away from leaving and instead chose to all-but throw us out of the restaurant after spending $250." (And there were still seats open in the restaurant, though admittedly not along the window. I guess whoever it was really wanted to have a view of the pool deck because that's all we could see.) I may think of this incident every time I think of North Conway. It was that absurd and that bad. As follow-up, I did speak to the manager (Tim?) on my way out and he did call the next day, but it seems this requires an extensive investigation to uncover things. I don't really know what their plan is to make it right (or if they even plan to), but this is not a place I could possibly recommend to anyone else, especially to those who only go for dinner. Unless, of course, you're prepared to eat and be gone in less than an hour. (Quick update: the manager called the next day and I haven't heard from any of them since.)

Found hair in our food. Unfortunately, this restaurant is not what we remember. My husband I got married here over 10 years ago and loved coming back, especially for the Sunday Breakfast buffet brunch. We recently arrived and did not see the typical set up for brunch and after we sat, we found out the old Sunday brunch had changed. This was our fault as we should’ve checked prior to going, but we didn’t think such a popular weekend brunch would get removed. While disappointed, we checked over the menu. Both of us had a hard time picking an item, as many of the options were “different” and not at all what we expected for brunch. We found ourselves unsure of what the items used on the menu were, and picked the crepe option, as it seemed the safest for our tastes. Again, our fault for not looking online for the updated menu and brunch changes, as we would’ve went elsewhere. The hostess and waitress were nice, dropping off our orange juice and cinnamon bun starter, but our waitress never came back to the table. My husband had found a hair under his food a few bites in, cooked into the base of the cinnamon bun. We sat for a bit waiting for her to come back, but that didn’t happen. After some time, I then went to the hostess station and informed her of the hair we found. At this point, being caught off guard of the brunch we remember being cancelled, and the different menu, the hair was the final straw. The hostess was apologetic, and we moved on to a different location to eat. As much as we loved this venue for our wedding, the Sunday brunch, and many stays, it’s just not the same as we remember, especially for the cost and the many other options to eat in the area.
