This five-star restaurant at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay was the perfect place to celebrate my elderly mother’s 86th birthday. The view of the sunset was truly breathtaking, and the food was exquisite—every bite felt like a new adventure. The experience was unforgettable thanks to the impeccable service and ambiance.

My favorite all you can eat restaurant. Enjoy a high end brunch at a classy hotel with the waves of the Pacific breaking in the background. Food has been amazing every time I've come, although they have lowered the price and reduce the variety since the first time I've come. They also stop serving some of the more expensive ingredients that were available the first time I came, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless.

Dinner at Navio was a true highlight of our stay at The Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. The setting is unbeatable — right on the cliffs, with huge windows overlooking the Pacific. You can hear the waves and watch the sky change colors as you dine. It’s peaceful, elegant, and not over-the-top — just really beautiful and calming. We did the tasting menu and loved how seasonal and fresh everything was. The spot prawns were a standout, and the dry-aged ribeye was perfectly cooked with incredible flavor. You can tell the ingredients are top-quality, and the kitchen doesn’t try to do too much — just lets the food shine. Every course felt thoughtful, and the wine pairings really elevated the whole experience. The service was top-tier — professional, warm, and very attentive without being overbearing. They timed everything perfectly and were great at explaining the dishes without making it feel too formal. If you're looking for a fine dining experience that still feels grounded and true to the California coast, Navio is absolutely worth a visit. It’s the kind of place where you can really slow down and enjoy the moment.

Apparently it is not possible to write the second review of the same place. Oh well I am back at Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay and it really deserves another review. The hotel has improved tremendously since my last stay a couple of years ago. It is more awesome than ever

This is what the Ritz Carlton should be like. If you see my review of the sister restaurant in the hotel, the Conservatory, I am not afraid to mince words. However, this was an excellent experience. Blew the other restaurant in the hotel out of the water. Our waiter was excellent, attentive, very knowledgeable. The bartender was excellent, friendly and helped us to figure out great drinks. He even allowed us to sample a few Specials he made. Everyone at this restaurant clearly cared about what they were doing. It was expensive, but this was worth it. I would go back in a heartbeat. It would be a great place for a special occasion, such as an anniversary or your spouse’s birthday. Well Reem.

Very nice experience! Restaurant has beautiful scenery. The staff and service was great. We came here for 2 hour luxury brunch experience for $199 per person + $50 per person for window seating. Weekend valet fee is $50. We were offered complimentary mimosas. We ordered 20 out of 23 dishes on the menu. We were hoping to try all 23 but failed 😂 It's all worth it. And can't wait to come back again.

What a special experience! Came here for the New Year’s brunch and it was such a delight. Perfectly sized small plates great for sharing, all cooked just right. The short rib was tender and rich, pastas were not too soft not too firm, seafood was fresh and tasty, lamb so soft and flavorful. The desserts were all interesting, mimosas tart and not too sweet, and coffee was great. The service was extremely attentive, and the ambiance was so festive and pleasant. Taking a walk afterwards along the ocean was a special treat! Just a note - reservations require a $50 deposit per person, and valet parking on holidays is $50 per car. But, there is no time limit, so you can hang out at the property after. The gratuity is automatically included at 25% so be prepared for a $100+ tip!

So I took my mom to what I considered a really nice Christmas buffet. While there she asked me if I had ever been to the brunch at Ritz Carlton Halfmoon Bay. She said, " I heard it's really nice?". Translation= " I want you to take me there!" I decided to take her for Easter Brunch. This was my only second time here and it's a lot different than my first experience. The first time I came for brunch 7 years ago, it was more of a " buffett" style where you went on your own to the tables and picked what you want to eat. This time around, you get to pick 2 items at a time and pretty much as many times as you want or your belly can fill up within 1.5 hours and leaving 30 minutes for dessert. The ambiance here was simply elegant and classy. Loved how they decorated the reataurant and hotel for Easter w/ flowers and eggs everywhere. A costumed bunny even walked around to say hello! Service: excellent! Food: Sweet like chocolate chip pancakes to savory pasta and lobster... Nice selection of items and well executed. My favorites that I ordered 2x were the pan seared scallop and the lobster w/ beure blanc sauce. There is a 50 dollar charge for parking. And the price per person for Easter was $255. Overall, my mom Loved it! I highly recommend the Sunday brunch here for special occasions. I hope to come back soon and hopefully before another 7 years goes by!

One of the most decadent brunch experiences I have ever had. All you can eat for $249/person within a 2-hour window, and you can order two items at a time from the menu. The service is surprisingly fast, and the staff was definitely very attentive to every need. Beautiful setting inside the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay. Be sure to book ahead as reservations can be hard to come by.

Came to Navio for the first time to celebrate my birthday and the staff made it an amazing experience. We got a private room (for just the 6 of us) without even asking. Victoria one of the hostesses even wrote me a Birthday card in my native language. Cruz our server was super friendly, attentive, and accommodating. I even received a birthday surprise and a birthday song from the staff. The food was excellent. It was all small portions but it was delicious and very filling. I can’t wait to come back again.

It was my first visit to the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay and to say that the service was outstanding is an understatement. Everything, from start to finish, was simply wonderful. Everyone was so pleasant and professional. Our server- Mr. Benny was extremely efficient, knowledgeable and professional. Our meals were exquisite. We had a lovely time here and thank all of the staff members ( from the valet, to the servers ,to the chefs) for making our visit here a memorable one.

Amazing service and great food! You order two dishes at a time and it comes out within minutes. The service is very on top of it and constantly checks in. Beautiful views of the ocean. Highly recommend trying the scallop, caviar tasting, and smoked salmon.

An excellent all-you-can-eat-in-2 hours table serve Christmas buffet, with stunning ocean views from all tables. Gourmet, fine dining execution of multiple high-end seafood and meat options — served as appetizer portions. Highlights included Pan-seared Scallop, a wonderfully savory, buttery taste of the sea. Raw Oysters Rockefeller, topped with warm cream, bacon, spinach and cheese — rare-find and expertly prepared. Lobster Tail served with salmon roe and broccolini. An excellent choice for an extra special holiday brunch. Followed by a drink by the bonfires outside or a walk along the sea-misted greenery, another plus.

I had the most perfect birthday celebration here! This review is for the Navio weekend brunch. I was here last Sunday on the exact day of my birthday and Sam, our wonderful server took care of me and my husband (Simon). We were here to celebrate my birthday as newlyweds and the experience was perfect from start to finish. The ambiance, food, service were all excellent. Upon entering the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay, the valet fee (weekend rate) to pass the gate was $45 and you can pay this with your restaurant tab. We were seated within minutes after checking and sat at a table facing a large window, staring into the beautiful view of the beach as we watched the waves crash back and forth. It was so relaxing and we were offered complimentary mimosas before the feast began. Lunch was $199 per person for 2 hours and it's basically all you can eat, where we selected from a list of 20 dishes with a curated mix of land and sea options. Each person was able to order 2 dishes at a time, and Sam would periodically check in on us to take our subsequent orders. As I scanned the menu, I love how there were more seafood options, which felt very appropriate for the location. I was very strategic about how we were going to tackle this menu. I wanted to try every item if possible and started with the most expensive dishes in case I got too full. We ordered 4 unique dishes at a time and worked our way down the menu from top to bottom. Once we reached the end of the menu, we double backed to our most favorite dishes. We ordered 17 out of 20 dished on the menu. If you have the stomach to try all 20 dishes, good for you!! Definitely come hungry or you'll have FOMO. THE MENU: 2-hour luxury brunch experience

The staff here are so friendly and professional. We were lucky enough to book a window table and enjoy a nice sunset while eating dinner. We went with the three-course meal which took us about 100 minutes, including some delicious sourdough bread and incredible desserts. The cocktail list is pretty small but there are plenty of wine options available. The view, playing, combination of flavors, and overall ambiance were great!

Navio in Half Moon Bay is a dining oasis that deserves every bit of its five-star acclaim. The culinary journey begins with an extraordinary Black Caviar starter – a symphony of flavors and textures that elevates the dining experience. The presentation is as exquisite as the taste, setting the tone for the gastronomic adventure that follows. The Trout is a masterpiece, perfectly cooked to tender perfection, with a delicate balance of flavors that harmonize on the palate. The Wagyu Tartar is a revelation, showcasing the premium quality of the beef with each bite. The richness of the wagyu is complemented by expertly chosen accompaniments, creating a dish that tantalizes the taste buds. The highlight, however, is the Lamb Rack – a culinary masterpiece that defines indulgence. Cooked to perfection, the lamb is succulent, flavorful, and accompanied by thoughtfully selected sides that enhance the overall experience. The marriage of textures and tastes in this dish is nothing short of extraordinary. Throughout the dining experience at Navio, the attention to detail is impeccable. The staff is not only attentive but also well-versed in the intricacies of the menu, providing recommendations that enhance the overall experience. Navio stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, where each dish tells a story of craftsmanship and passion. A visit to this establishment is not just a meal; it's a celebration of exceptional food and unparalleled hospitality.

An excellent place to enjoy the views of the Pacific Ocean. Waves crashing in the background as you sip a drink inside. Service is excellent as you expect from the Ritz. It was a great break from the drive up the coast. Definitely heading back when I am in Northern California.

Stayed at the hotel for Sunday night. We made reservations at 630pm and was called to confirm a couple of times, with an offer of an earlier dinner time. Thought this was a nice service gesture but should come with the terriority of a 5* hotel restaurant? We were given a table next to the window with great views...although it was overcast. Surprisingly, the menu only had two limited prefixe options, which we were not informed on the website nor during the couple of calls. We were hoping to get a couple of items from the regular menu. All the dishes were wonderful, delicious, well-balanced, tasty...5*: wagyu tartare, trout, black cod main entree, beef tenderloin (aka filet mignon) main entree, tropical and mocha dessert. Service: 5*, excellent from both our server and associate server (feel so bad that I lost and can't remember their names).

A Unique Superlative Experience - One of the best on the West Coast - combining Stunning Golden hue Sunsets overlooking the Pacific Ocean with Contemporary California Coastal Cuisine influenced by Global flavors in elegant luxurious surroundings anchored by Superb Service. We enjoyed our Anniversary in a Sublime Romantic Atmosphere. The Most Attentive Unhurried Timed to Perfection Service throughout our three hour dinner experience was flawless. The Innovative Haute Cuisine showcasing Molecular Gastronomy Techniques is Spectacular in Presentation and Taste. I simply was in delight over the Amuse Bouche Mussels and Chocolat Valrhona Raspberry Espuma while she loved the Spot Prawns Zucchini Fiori Reisling. Impressive Wine List and a Most Amazing Espresso. Very nice view. And everybody in the restaurant is super friendly. They introduce themselves when they come to your table and all people here are very polite and attentive. All the courses are very delicate and delicious. And I will say my favorite ones are the lobster at the scallops. And the dessert looks super cute. Love it.

Wonderful experience. Chose the tasting menu and all the dishes were impeccably prepared. The cod knocked it out of the park! Great service and never intrusive. It's not cheap. With wine, expect roughly a minimum of $300 per head.

We recently invited my sister to celebrate her birthday at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay. Part of the celebration was a birthday dinner at Navio, the Ritz’s five star restaurant. In short, we had an unparalleled, spectacular dining experience. Out of five stars, I give Navio ten stars. If interested, more details below. My sister has been a vegan for quite a while. I was a little concerned about Navio having adequate vegan selections for my sister, as I wanted her to have a great dining experience for her birthday. As it turned out, I should not have worried. When we arrived to Navio, both the hostess, (Ella) and our server (Horace) acknowledged that we were celebrating a birthday and that we had a vegan in our party. Horace explained the dinner menu to us and, to our surprise, handed my sister a vegan menu! That was very cool. As my sister studied the menu, we got an even bigger surprise. Navio’s head chef, Francisco Simon, came out to go over the vegan menu with my sister and said that he could modify any the selections to her liking. Wow. For entrees, I had the Black Cod and my wife had the Beef Tenderloin. Both were perfectly prepared, artfully presented and delicious. I want to thank Marcos, the resident Som for the excellent wine choices he gave me. My sister’s vegan entree was a selection of five vegetables plated together. After a few bites, it became apparent to my sister that each vegetable had been prepared individually and uniquely. In addition, there was a dollop of sauce next to each of the vegetables, which gave the diner the choice of how much additional flavoring, if any, to add. We were all very impressed with the preparation. My sister explained that the “vegan option” at nearly all restaurants is a selection of good quality vegetables all cooked together with some type of seasoning, oil, or sauce. She was astounded that each vegetable on her plate was prepared separately. She described her dining experience as a “Glorious Reveal” as she worked her way through the various preparations on her plate. We later heard that Chef Francisco had prepared her meal himself. My sister’s final comment was that her dinner at Navio was the best vegan meal she had ever had. Then she corrected herself and stated that it was the best restaurant meal she had ever had, vegan or not. Each dessert, much like my sisters vegetable entrée, was an assortment of different elements with complex flavors, textures and appearances prepared by Pastry Chef Matt. He is a true pastry artist. To top off the experience Chef Roberto Riveras, Executive Chef for the entire property, stopped by our table and asked how we enjoyed our dinner. My sister described the difference between her vegan dishes at Navio compared to other restaurants. Basically, there is no comparison. We then asked Chef Riveras to tell us about his history as a chef. His response was a very animated and upbeat story. He described his international culinary journey and his current quest to use all his experiences to create innovative dishes with all the local California ingredients he has at his disposal. He truly has a passion for food. At Navio, we enjoyed elegant fine dining with excellent service from the professional yet friendly staff, innovative entrees and desserts that were flawlessly prepared and artfully presented under the personal supervision of the head chef. Who could ask for more? The Navio Restaurant at the Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay gets my highest recommendation. Navio should have another Michelin star in my opinion. Here’s a special shout out to the people at Navio and the rest of the hotel who made our dining experience and hotel stay extra, extra special, especially for my sister’s birthday. Ritz Carlton Executive Chef Roberto Riveras, Navio Head Chef Francisco Simon, Pastry Chef Matt, Horace, Marcos. Mr. Rafael Gorina Executive Assistant Manager-Rooms Division and Spa, Hotel, Violeta, Maria V., Ella, Maria (front desk) and the entire Ritz HMB staff.

Chose the Three Course Prix-Fixe menu, which cost $155 per person (exclusive of tax, gratuity and beverages). I went with: • AHI TUNA LOIN Roasted Pine Nuts | Chives | Purple Radish • ANGUS BEEF TENDERLOIN Little Romaine | Piquillo Pepper | Castelvetrano Olives • BLACKBERRY YUZU TART Yuzu Mousse | Lemon Basil Shortbread | Blackberry Key Lime Sorbet We started with a bottle of Barolo, bread, and we were also given a complimentary brioche donut hole filled with salmon mousse. The meals then came one by one and wow, everything was soooo delicious! I especially liked the appetizer because the ahi tuna loin was seasoned perfectly, and went well with the caviar. It was my first time trying caviar and I didn't know that I would like it. I found the Angus Beef Tenderloin dish to be a bit too salty but nonetheless, it was still enjoyable.

With 200 different items to choose from, this place is an awesome choice for relaxing myself after busy work during the weekdays. Wonderful experience just sitting here watch the ocean and seagulls outside the window, while sipping my coffee. Caviar bar, seafood bar and dessert bar are 5 star. Entree bar is strong and shushi bar is OK But better than mediocre. Unlimited nonalcoholic drinks: freshly squeezed delicious orange juice, pineapple juice, grapefruit juice, coffee, latte, cappuccino, etc. Highly recommend!

I really enjoyed the prix fixe menu. The food was very flavorful and the service was great. The restaurant had a nautical vibe, prefect for the ocean setting. You can tell a lot of thought was put into every little detail from the decor, to the plates used and the presentation of everything that was brought out.

This place is an absolute gem! It's a little away from South Bay and SF but the location is very beautiful. The food was really good. There are 2 options, a 6 course tasting menu ir a 3 course dinner. We opted for the 3 course dinner and it was pretty filling. I definitely recommend this place for special occasions.

Absolutely delicious and amazing service! Be ready to go home stuffed with fancy, delicate course meals. We had a big group so we got to sit in a private room which was extra nice. We had a great view of the ocean while it got dark. Only thing that got me was that they asked what tea we wanted with dessert but then charged us quite a bit extra for each glass.

Haven't been into coursed meals as of late. Was a guest at the hotel and dined at mediocre conservatory the night before. Only choice was navio. Had two kids under 10 and staff was kind enough to seat our group of 6 promptly on a busy night. Nice wine list......and we opted for the "quick" pre fixed meal. Pleasantly surprised by our dinner. Staff were very professional, attentive, and not over the top. Overall great experience. Thanks to staff.

Perched along the breathtaking California coastline, Navio at the iconic Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay delivers a dining experience that felt both refined and memorable. From the moment we were seated, the evening unfolded like a orchestrated performance — ocean views, the breathtaking sunset, an exquisite presentation, and a level of service that defines and may even have surpassed luxury. Susie elevated the experience by thoughtfully describing each course with elegance and enthusiasm, turning every plate into a culinary journey. Benny, the gracious Maître D’, ensured that every detail was seamlessly, creating an atmosphere that felt warmly welcoming. And special appreciation to Billy, whose attentiveness shined when he quickly arranged a chef’s starter upon realizing we arrived completely "famished" — a gesture that set a gracious and indulgent tone for the night. Navio is not simply a restaurant; it is a destination where exceptional cuisine meets genuine hospitality. A perfect setting for celebrations, meaningful gatherings, and moments that deserve to be remembered long after the last course is served

This review is for weekend brunch for a party of 4 in May'25. I have been to Navio several times before and always remember the weekend brunch to be a buffet setting where you help yourself to unlimited savings.. but things have changed slightly now. It still is an AYCE but the food is served to you ala-carte style at your table. We enjoyed the following - Caviar sampler - Benedicts Traditional and Smoked Salmon - Bean Soup w/Bacon crumble - Cavatelli pasta - Wagyu beef slider - Lobster Roll - Beef Tenderloin - Lamb Chops Tea /Coffee / Fresh juices are included. The price per person is $199 plus taxes Valet parking (the only option) is $50 Overall, Navio is a place for special occasions..with the food , service and ambiance consistently maintaining it's standards over the years.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Navio. It was a memorable weekend with some of the best food I've had in a long time. I apologize for the delay in sharing my review as I initially lost, but later found the pictures from my visit. The service and beverages were exceptional. My only suggestion is that they should offer more French wine options, but it's not so much a complaint as it is a request. The food was part of a visiting Chef series, and during my visit, it was the 2023 Global Cuisine Series featuring Chef Miguel Navarro. I thoroughly enjoyed the event and look forward to returning to the restaurant in the future for more outstanding cuisine.

I tried their chef choice vegetarian menu. Most of the food were really great and I really enjoyed it, except the roasted cauliflower. It was relatively bland and it did not go well with the sauce. Other than that, everything is delicious. The only reason they did not get a five star from me is because I think there are room for improvement in terms of the service. Wrong size of utensils and glasses, having problems introducing the dishes, and we don’t really see our waiter that often.

I give this place 4 star rating. Alright. It's about 199.99 plus tax and tips for one person brunch. Since the price was high, I had to compare this place with other very fine dining places where I have been to (SFO, Vegas, Miami, HKG etc). With that price, we have to expect a very high quality of food and services. I have to say this place has an amazing view facing Pacific Ocean. The decoration and the hotel itself did give me a bit of classy feeling. The time I was there the place was not packed, which I liked. Quiet and relaxing. So I wanted to enjoy myself by not taking any pictures of the food. I didn't want to be "that person" who needed to take pictures of food all the damn time. I also wanted to respect the place and the atmosphere. It's all you can eat brunch. I can order as many times as I like within 2 hours period. I was allowed to only order two dishes at a time. My server had a very good timing to come by to help us order once we were finished dishes. Chefs always looked for perfection and consistency on every dish. I had total of 4 people and we tried all the food on the menu. I started off with caviar tasting and smoked salmon. The caviar was alright to me, but the smoked salmon with crispy potato opened my appetite. Then I ordered wagyu beef slider and lobster. Wagyu beef was not fully 100% wagyu. It's mixed. The slider also had a piece of pork belly in it. The fat from pork belly did ruin the taste of wagyu. So I had to take the pork belly, so I could try to taste the wagyu. Although it's not 100% wagyu, but it tasted pretty good with mushroom and sauce. I had this slider 3x. The lobster was fresh enough for me to have it 2x. I also had beef tenderloin. This was a filling piece and it was nicely cooked which was medium rare. The scallop was fresh and its surface was crispy enough for me to know that it's cooked and had good texture. Cavatelli, to me, was like very fancy mac n cheese with black truffle. This was very filling as well. I also tried their waffles and they did a good job on it by making it fresh, crispy, with nice real berries and sauce. Since I liked it, I was like okay... let me get the benedict and the chocolate chips pancakes. Both turned out to be... just okay. The dessert tower happened at the end. I took a picture of them because they were nicely decorated. I really liked the lavender one which was on the top and the peach one which was in the middle. The honeycomb and the chocolate one were just okay. Alright. the quality of food here was slightly above mediocre, compared to other places with similar prices. BUT the services were exceptionally good. And the view? no places can beat this. Oh yup. Almost forgot to tell you that you are required to use valent parking and it's 50 bucks for weekends. I think this was ridiculous since I came here for brunch. It should be complimented. This place can be a good place for dates or a small groups of people. I think coming this place was like one time experience for me. Should you come? I let you decide!

This was our first experience and we came for New Year's Day Brunch. Right off the bat, the service was excellent. We were ushered to our table and every server acknowledged us and wished us Happy New Year. We started with the bread and butter which were really good and presented beautifully. Here are my rankings of the food we ordered: 4/10 Caviar Tasting. Only one tasted really good, I wish they included a mother of pearl spoon 8/10 Blue Prawn Cocktail. Tasty, Ordered twice. 9.5/10 Seared Scallop. Rich and Excellent Flavor. Ordered twice. 8/10 Crab Cake. Great flavor. Ordered twice. 5/10 Smoked Salmon on Crispy Potato Cake. Just felt incohesive. 9.5/10 Egg Benedict. Bearnaise sauce was super silky. Great! 5/10 Cavatelli with Truffle. Truffle was fine but pasta was mid. 7/10 Vegetables. Peas were fresh, but was just ok for me. anted more freshness. Everything started tasting creamy and rich. 9.8/10 Wagyu Slider with Pork Belly. Excellent yet filling. 6/10 Pumpkin Soup. Just a standard good soup for me. 6.5/10 Lamb Chop. Good sear but was just fine. 7.5/10 Rib Eye. No sear, good sauce, but was disappointing. 5/10 Glazed Salmon. Pretty but salty and creamy. 3/10 Lobster. Overcooked. 10/10 Belgian Waffles. We weren't even going to order but did for husband and he said they were the best he's ever had. 5/10 Dessert Tiers. Pretty but all creamy and rich. My constructive crit would be to include more items on the menu that are refreshing or palate cleansers since a lot had rich sauces or creams. Would have loved fresh fruit or a sorbet. Also wish they would have included a sticker for the to-go box or a bag to keep the box shut as it kept opening in the car, and also that extra touch would have been nice. We had a beautiful view from our table and as mentioned staff were excellent. Shout out to our server Jefferey who was awesome. Cruz who took our photos and even took different angles and suggested great views. And Brian which I think was the name of the host who was very warm and welcoming and offered excellent care.

One thing Ritz Carlton, HMB is well known for is sunday brunch!! I am very curious how 5 star brunch looks , how different it is compared to other brunches. Big differences i noticed are many different types of FRESH ingredients like good selection of seafood, local cheese, breads and butter, etc,. Also it provides huge production of desserts!!! What a dessert heaven! Moreover, pacific ocean view improves everything related to the taste. I think i gained weight by + 5lb. Plate after plate after plate!!! Every single small plate tastes award-winning provided by Michelin starred restaurant.

The breakfast choices are particularly great - try the Chilaquiles and the Coastal Benedict as both are exceptional. The weekend brunch is $129, plus $40 parking, but the spread is amazing hence a great option hence you want to splurge. For dinner there are great vegetarian choices as well. Do look outside the windows, we saw dolphins floricking around at breakfast. As always, there's fab Ritz service.

Navio seems to be a mediocre restaurant disguised as something greater because it is in the Ritz. At first glance, everything seems nice, elegant, and planned. Throughout the brunch we noticed things didn’t seem to be as great as they were. The server would say he would come back to introduce the dish to us but never come back to introduce the dish to us. The second server kept hovering and mumbling to us about whether we were done yet. She’d peak at our food, notice I hadn’t finished eating, say “oh not yet”, and then walk away. This server would be a better fit at a quick service restaurant given her rushing attitude. Lastly, when the dessert tower came, they took all of our utensils and left us with a spoon. Clearly not much thinking involved in this set up. We saw adjacent tables manhandling their cakes trying to get it out of the narrow shelf in the dessert tower. A fork or knife was very much needed for the desserts with hard cookie bases. I’d be more specific with what the dessert actually was, but alas the waiter never introduced the dessert to us so I don’t know (and the menu was taken away so we couldn’t read what it was either). Overall decent food, but the service and declining vibe really tainted the experience.

Fell short on flavor compared to presentation which was lovely. The service was absolutely on point (thank you Jeffrey)and the view was just breathtaking! Ocean sea and golf course front and centered. What made this buffet different and not in a good way was everything you had to choose on the menu. Sometimes it took more or less time to get to your table which can hurt you time and you find yourself rushing. Another part was not being able to try everything, because in a conventional buffet you pick a tiny amounts to see if you like to grab more. The lobster was poached and extremely bland. Seared scallop was amazing, tri-tip steak cooked perfectly, and the Benedict crab is a must. The lamb was marbled and cooked well, but if you are into lamb away from it. Salmon was dry, but the waffle was the best I ever tasted (I make my own too). The Rigatoni sauce was foamy feeling with little flavor, no wine reduction taste or anything. All well. It my opinion, this is a little overpriced, because to me that price sits at Michelin star level, where everything needs to be perfect, all food types taste amazing with the perfect service. That is not the case(yet), but it was a great experience!

The weekend brunch at Navio was an interesting experience. They have limited seating and are very strict about time limits. The food selection is fairly limited but everything is good quality. The dessert section was everyone's favorite.

Our overall dining experience at Navio was just okay. The decor is heavy and outdated even though it looks like they may have done some “refresh.” Their service could certainly use improvements. For the price tag of their Prix Fixe menu, you’d expect high-quality service. Instead we got servers who didn’t show any genuine hospitality towards us. Very disappointed that this is the level of service at a Ritz Carlton Half Moon Bay restaurant.

We visited Navio with some family from out of town. We had been meaning to visit for many years but had never made it down. We dined for the set price brunch. The setting was amazing- absolutely gorgeous ocean views and our table overlooked the 18th hole. Service was friendly and available. The food was an absolute disappointment. Maybe I am accustomed to SF pricing & quality, but I was incredibly disappointed. The lamb, lobster, and beef courses were very tasty but everything else was a miss. They sent us a salad that looked like it was made by a 4 year old with dressing slopped on top. The oysters had clearly been shucked a long time ago and the toppings were disgusting - who ever asked for a sweet creamy oyster? I literally thought to myself, wow they have done a disservice to the oyster that died for this - absolutely inedible. Most of the fishes had some version of the same potato/butter puree. The vegetables on every plate were flavorless. The cauliflower soup was butter soup. We asked for a bellini and got syrupy prosecco. If you can’t serve a bellini then just say no? Who made these desserts? It was like a signature challenge from an early season episode of the great british bake off - soggy pastry shells and unfinished, lumpy, ugly cake edges. Seriously disappointing, amateur, childish desserts. Incredibly uninspired and not worth 200$/person. Skip the set price brunch and if you want to visit, just go for the a la cart menu.

There is a lot of improvement needed here. What is expected should correlate to the cost. Starting with a $40 valet sets the bar high along with this being the Ritz. The decor and ambience in the main lobby is nice and the manager of the restaurant was kind. The food is not expensive but as you can see it’s comparable to other high end restaurants. Our waiter was good but again needs improvement with refining his delivery and creating an experience. The woman was impossible to understand and one time walking by hit my chair with her hand. Bread is very basic like potato, pretzel and an everything style. Filet mignon almost tasted like liver and lacked the dish lacked any unique flavor. Sea bass dish again lacked creativity. In this day and age of information a dish requires more than the ability to pipette colors around an entree. My apologies if I sound harsh but I work very hard to come out to nice restaurants rarely for occasions. My other reviews show a great appreciation for fine dining and again, this lacked the experience and creativity of fine dining.

We did brunch @ Navio which is an a-la-carte AYCE experience Food - Food Poisoning. We went for a walk afterwards our food and within an hour I had to run to the restroom thrice. Their kitchen needs inspection because I'm not the only one complaining. Disappointing, I'll explain why When you pay premium price, you don't want to be limited. Their service is very deliberately slow - you'll get one scallop at a time. They limit you to two dishes at once. So if you wanted caviar on your scallop - that's two dishes(caviar tasting & 1 scallop) The server comes back around after 20-25 minutes to take the next order and we were kept waiting for long staring at the empty table because they bring the next order out after 20 minutes of placing it. They further limit you to 2 hours out of which the last half our is for desserts. So you'd think you get about 1.5 hours for food, but they come for last call in 1 hour. So you get maximum 3 rounds of dishes, 2 dishes at a time, while you're hungry and waiting with an empty table. We did not return empty, but being limited is not a great experience. There's no reason to limit the number of dishes you can ask for two only two at a time when the dishes are so tiny. Cheap tactics at a premium price. To add, service manners were extremely poor. We went in to celebrate a birthday - the desk did not wish the birthday person a happy birthday. The server took away the cheque as we were still sitting at the restaurant(at 3pm which is end of the brunch) - this is extremely poor manners. You'd expect this from a streetside restaurant but even they have better manners. Frustrating experience.

This is my third time dine here. Today, in a rainy day, I drive by with my spouse, wish to have an afternoon tea/ snack. It’s pretty empty spots as it’s in the afternoon time, they told me that we can’t seat in the dining area and had me to sit in a public area. We seat for 15 mins later, no one provides us the menu, later on we checked in with them again and learn that we need to get the menu ordered by the bar ourselves. Ordered some pizza and soup, and wait for 25 mins, finally serve to us. I don’t think I will want to come here ever again.

We were denied ordering food at the bar at 4 pm because the bar man said “I don’t have the menu” and made us go downstairs to ocean terrace to order food, bring it back to the lounge area ourselves. And seeing the same bar man serving food to a group seated right next to us at 4:20 pm. So suddenly, they do have a bar menu with foods???? The worst experience, considering that we stayed here over the weekend, had our wedding here, and had to “explain” myself to annoyed host who didn’t want me to order food and bring it to the lounge at Navio :(
