We had Timber Stone Grill cater our wedding on 10.11.25 and it was PHENOMENAL! Chloe and Jeff were great to work with, we knew exactly what we were getting and they were so accommodating! They went out of their way to provide excellent food and excellent service, our guests loved the options we had and everything was delicious. Just a few pics from our wedding! We are still waiting for final pics :) Such a great experience! We HIGHLY recommend!
It can be a bit noisy, depending on the crowd. I suppose that could be true for any popular place. But the food is excellent: artisan bread plate is wonderful and features their own hand-churned butter(!). We had squash soup, and a tomato bisque, and wee completely satisfied. Oh, recommend the Prison City Mass Riot IPA, if you like those.
This place is a gem. We loved it so much that we had dinner there 2 nights in a row. The menu has healthy options - which is a huge plus when traveling. The staff is friendly and eager to please. The food is high quality and was prepared perfectly. This restaurant is locally owned and the people working there put forth significant effort to ensure you enjoy your dining experience. They also support local wineries and breweries. We didn’t try the wine, but the Auburn based Prison City beer was excellent.
As a tourist I can tell you they will have updated hours for the restaurant on the building. Google is not a reliable source BUT that being said I was lucky enough to have an amazing lunch with great atmosphere and great food. For a 5 ppl party the food was perfect and came out quickly! Thank you
Stopped in for a snack and a drink or two after roaming the town with a buddy exploring a bit of the area. Pretty decent beer selection, awesome staff. The burgers looked and smelled awesome - will have to make it a point to try those out some time. They have a daily limited special type thing going on seems like - the maple bread pudding was pretty good.
My friend and I ate dinner at Timber Stone Grill. I got the chicken bruschetta and my friend got the Tuna Poke Grain Bowl. The chicken bruschetta was delicious, and the carrots were the best I’ve ever had. I thought the ratio of chicken, tomato, pesto and cheese was perfect. The cheesecake was decadent and served with ice cream and a berry sauce. Great food combos. The prices are a little high but I felt like it was worth it, especially in a tourist area. Our server, Amy was very accommodating and personable. Super sweet and helpful in making wine choices. All around, I enjoyed my experience there and the food a lot.
This was a nice last stop on our weekend getaway to Hammondsport. We were just wandering through town and the menu looked inviting. The waitstaff was hustling but did their best to accommodate the crowd. We decided on the Tuscan-style calamari for an appetizer and a couple of the sandwich selections for our mains. I had the balsamic grilled chicken and my wife opted for the timber burger. The food was great, the house fries were a bit too salty but still pretty good. The overall experience was great and we would definitely hit this place up if we were out that way again. I was also impressed that they had Ithaca brewing root beer available. It's one of my favorites.
Everything was great! I ordered the Timber Burger with fries and banana bread cake for dessert. The burger was a good size and fries were hot, salty and delicious. The banana bread cake was moist and very good with the chocolate chips inside and chocolate coating on the outside. Our waitress was wonderful! A member of my party has an uncommon allergy and the waitress was very attentive of this and genuinely cared to look into what she could eat. She reassured us and checked with the kitchen that there was something safe for her to eat. I will certainly return for their delicious menu and kind staff. 10/10
Excellent tempura battered fish sandwich! I highly recommend it! The kids menu had wonderful kids options. The service was fabulous. The location is right on the downtown strip. You can explore the town before or afterwards easily! This is a great place to eat when in the area. Indoor and outdoor seating!!!
The food was ok. Ordered the steak medium rare. It was medium rare but no sear on it. So kinda numbed about that, but I will say the medium rare and flavor did make up for it for the most part. The bar tenders and server were awesome. The location is pretty neat too. Just a quiet little part of town. The town itself is nestled right on the mountains of upstate New York. Just beautiful. You can dine indoor or outside. Very nice a definite 4 star.
Went out for dinner with the family on a Friday night. The fish fry was tasty, nice big piece of fish. The burger on special was really juicy and tender. Unfortunately, the meat in the crispy chicken sandwich was really chewy and fibrous, essentially inedible. Overall, the food was good but a bit overpriced.
First visit to the Timber Stone Grill while on vacation for my wife's Birthday. They have a nice outside patio seating section to go along with the inside dining and bar. The ambiance is pub style yet the menu and execution are upscale, along with the prices. We started with the Hearts of Romaine salad ($12) to share, a well dressed salad with shaved Parmesan cheese, peppercorn and baguette croutons which was very tasty. Next we had the Tuscan Style Calamari ($16), capers, olives, scallions, sweet peppers, this was very interesting and quite good, not your standard Calamari for sure. The Birthday girl had the Bistro Tenderloin ($38), with green beans and roasted garlic whipped potatoes piped into a decorative pillowy mound. She throughly enjoyed all, the tenderloin cooked to a perfect medium as requested. I went with the Bone in Ribeye ($46), topped with bacon, scallions and blue cheese crust with the green beans and whipped potatoes. My steak was a bit past medium as requested (one side stayed on too long as demonstrated by the uneven ring), the bacon and blue cheese where a nice addition as the steak sans crust was not that flavorful. I didn't feel it warranted the price as this in the league of steakhouses I frequent and this steak wasn't on that level unfortunately. We ended with 2 Lemon Cheesecakes ($8) served with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream and regrettably raspberry sauce garnish which I feel they should ask if you would like added as neither of us like it. The Birthday girl had hers comped which was very nice. Our server Brian was a star, extremely personable and attentive, it was a pleasure watching him work his other tables as well and make time to chat, then wisk away to handle his next task. Overall we had a very nice time at the Timber Stone Grill, a pub with a fine dining menu and presentation. Cheers
My sister and I, who are both veg, went to dinner here as it was recommended for their vegetarian and vegan options. I always appreciate a restaurant having clearly marked or easily modified vegan options, and they sounded great on the menu. The service was quick and attentive. However, the food was extremely lackluster and overpriced. $17 for frozen, pre-made pierogies is outlandish. The veggie grain bowl, while a good portion, was sorely lacking in flavor. The tofu was fried nicely, but was completely unseasoned; it was advertised as maple tofu, and it just had a little bit of sauce on top that we could hardly taste. The veggies and rice were well cooked, but we both needed hot sauce to give the dish any sort of flavor, and for nearly $30 a plate, it was a steep price to pay for bland food. If you’re a vegetarian or vegan visiting, I would recommend trying a different restaurant. We both described our food as “mid” as we left.
I was prepared to love this restaurant and to give it 5 stars, but it left me a bit disappointed. Not horrible, but I was hoping for better. We sat outside, which was wonderful. Weather was perfect for an outdoor meal. We ordered the charcuterie, which had a few small, mushy olives, a couple of sweet pickles, an assortment of cheeses, toasted baguettes, pepperoni and salami slices. But the hit of the board was the honey - delicious. The rest was ordinary. We also ordered a side salad, which was ample for two people. Typical mixed greens in a balsamic glaze. It came right after the charcuterie board, so they took it back. No big deal. Our entrees were a grain bowl with avocado , salmon, edamame and cole slaw. Delicious. And the 8oz filet with root vegetables and roasted garlic whipped potatoes. The filet was undercooked without much flavor but the potatoes were tasty. The bourbon peppercorn glaze was excellent. Dessert was the blueberry bread pudding. Way too much ice cream, not enough blueberry flavor, mushy bread and not warm enough to really enjoy. Service was fine. I’d give them another opportunity. The potential is there for a really excellent experience.
Nice atmosphere, but- The lobster crab bisque was WAY over salted. And the bisque had about 1 teaspoon of seafood in it. The special cherry mojito was just a regular mojito with a frozen cherry juice ice cube suspended over ut that eventually watered it down when it melted. My friend’s mule was made with ginger beer that was more flat than carbonated. Less than stellar all around, and definitely overpriced.
This is what it looks like when you get takeout. Chicken sandwich did not say it was spicy and did not include lettuce, tomato and onion listed. Paprika fries were an extra $2 for side and just had paprika lol. Veggie grain bowl was soupy. $20 for Mrs T’s pierogies. Ordered peanut butter pie, noticed it was missing when we got back to car. It took another 10 minutes to get the skinniest slice of pumpkin cake because they were out of the pie they forgot to give us. We were compelled to order from here after the recommendation from a local and the good reviews. Maybe everything they got was different?? $100 later, very disappointed.
We were here last fall and it was great.... we live a good hr a2ay so we don't get this way often... today we had to go to Penn Yan and looked up to hours and it said open til 8pm... was so happy... got back this way and stopped just to find that it wasn't open .... how disappointing... if you are going to shut down after Christmas... common sense would be to make that clear on Google listing...
We had dinner here on Saturday night and we were so excited as every time we are in town we have lunch here and the burgers, service, drinks, spicy shrimp are always so delicious. Saturday we decided to try dinner instead and what a mistake... My margarita was pure acid and we were charged $20 for a special Margarita that we did not order, we ordered spicy shrimp and then as I went to order my Entree, the tenderloin I was told it's their last night open and they were out of the steak and I looked at the menu again and my husband tried to order the chicken and was told they were out of that as well... why we were not told they were out of half their menu before we were sat down or even before we ordered drinks I do not know.. then, my husband ordered the grilled cheese and soup and I ordered the ribeye. The ribeye was ok but the veggies were undercooked and cold, potatoes were cold. My husband's grilled cheese had a pound of cheese and was so greasy and the soup was thick like spaghetti sauce. The entrees came out and she asked if we needed anything else and I asked about the shrimp and she said we never ordered it although we definitely did. This was the worst experience we've had here. Very disappointing.
