Such a sweet spot to land. The staff were just so Gracious and the wines are very yummy. We ended up as wine club members and are ever so excited.

Portalupi is my favorite Sonoma producer. Not close. Tim's old world sensibility results in wines that are well integrated and have, for me, a perfect blend of fruit, minerality and acid. From the attack to the finish, no one element overwhelms and all are equally satisfying. The Japanese have an expression that translates to: The warmth of the meal is equal to the heart of the host. Well, the quality of these wines is equal to the (craft and) heart of the people at Portalupi. Go and sip.

As a hardcore Cab and Brunello drinker, I was more than pleasantly surprised by the great taste of their Barbera D’Asti. So much do, that I’m having a case shipped back to me in Chicago. Try it.

Tasting at Poralupi Wine is relaxing. It was so hot outside today (99 degrees) The Barbera was the best. The Vaso Rosso is lovely with Cheetos.

A home away from home, Portalupi truly puts the meaning of family into their tasting room and their wines. From the Sparkling Barbera to their Old Vine Zinfandel, they have something for everyone and the best charcuterie board in town! Seriously, I cannot recommend Portalupi enough. I did a Sonoma wine tasting weekend for my bachelorette party and the Portalupi tasting room was by far everyone's favorite part of the weekend. Carolyn went above and beyond to accommodate and make our day perfect, giving us a full private tasting experience. The staff here are so wonderful and very knowledgable about the wine industry. Love the story of the winemakers and family business. Would highly recommend Portalupi to anyone (if you can't make it into the tasting room, it's well worth the shipment!)

Portalupi wines is a must see in Sonoma! I went with a large group of girls for a bachelorette party and they accommodated us with no problems. Friendly service with very knowledgeable staff. My rubric for evaluating a tasting/wine club/vineyard: winemaker knowledge, wine quality, grape variety, ambiance, courtesy, and thoughtfulness. Portalupi checks these boxes and more for us every time we visit! Winemaker knowledge is superb and it isn’t just Tim who knows… the knowledge is imparted to the staff as well! The shake ridge barbera is impeccable but it’s the variety and quality of all the wines that really sets this place apart. Sparkling barbera? Yes please! The tasting room is welcoming equally for large groups or an intimate tasting and we have been welcomed during the busiest of times with care by Carolyn and her team. And let’s not forget the details and thoughtfulness: the team has written down that I am vegan and goes out of their way to provide vegan food options for me to taste with since I cannot enjoy a charcuterie board. Thanks Jane, Carolyn, and Tim for creating this experience which is the perfect compliment to taste your wines! We look forward to our next visit!

I have done a fair amount of wine tasting. This was some of the best wine I have had. The wine and food pairing was spot on. Loved every part of it. Carolyn was super busy (we might have felt a tad neglected, honestly) but the quality and ambience made it worth it. Refillable milk jugs of wine? Count me in!

Different twist on Sonoma wines. They serve Italian wines that are grown in Northern California. Great service and selection. Also very reasonably priced compared to many other winerys in Healdsburg. Great place!

We were very lucky to happen upon a pop-up event at the Portalupi tasting room featuring the food of Guiso Latin Fusion and Chef Carlos. I feel badly for not writing down the name of the young lady who served our tasting, she was passionate, knowledgeable provided awesome service! Their wines are amazing. Very smooth and approachable with a very California spin on Italian wines. All of the wines were very good. I recommend the Barbera shake ridge and charbono. Pairing their great wines with the food from Guiso Latin Fusion plus the incredibly friendly, fun and passionate energy of both staffs made this one of the highlights of our wine trip to California.
