There's many places to get subs in the area but this is definitely the best.

When I asked a local business for the best place to grab lunch in town it took about a millisecond to suggest Vinny's. She raved about their pizza and said it was the best. She was right. I had a slice of broccoli tomato as it had caught my eye when looking at the menu online. When I walked in and the lovely gal suggested it as her favorite, I knew I had to go for it and it was worth it. What I didn't know is that the Sicilian corner slice would be so simple - no toppings, just sauce and cheese - but life changing. That was pure happiness and the flavor was impressive. It's one of those big fat slices with goodness at every bite. It makes you want to go back to get another slice but you realize it is a big fat slice and it has expanded in your body to the point you decide to go try the garlic knots sitting next to you. Those were also incredible! In my experience I'm always disappointed in cheese bread, garlic bread, and appetizers like them when I order them. They lack flavor and character. That was so not the case with Vinny's garlic knots. I chose to dip them in marinara but snuck a few bites without sauce because I couldn't believe what my taste buds were telling me. I can only be grateful I enjoyed a fantastic lunch before the rush and that I don't live near it as I could see my fingers becoming too fat to type if I could eat like a king at Vinny's 3x a day. I was smart enough to have saved the freshly made cannoli for a little later in the day and it was so so so worth it. Perfect end to an A+ experience with Vinny & the crew.

Vinny's makes some of the best food in the area & has for decades. I truly don't think you can find a better slice! Their prices are reasonable, portions are great, & service is some of the best around. There can be a bit of a wait, but that's due to the high volume of customers and personalized preperation. I'd much rather wait a bit, knowing my food is being freshly made to order, than have generic, pre-made food ready in 5 minutes. :)

Read the reviews here and decided to try it. My wife and I are just passing through on a cross-country trip. This Italian restaurant is a gem. The lasagna was the best I've ever had. My wife's calzone was equally delicious and the portions are huge. Homemade marinara sauce is amazing.

Great pizza and very nice food. They have all types of Italian food for fair prices. Great garlic knots and appetizers too. The only thing that I didn’t like is that the kitchen is opened and you can see anything that happens there. I didn’t see anything but I’d rather not see people cooking my food. Nice waitresses and pizza maker with great abilities. Very kind owner. Overall nice restaurant.

OMG I love this place. We've always enjoyed the food here, but I miss the dining room (it may or may not be open for eating in?). This is THE place for subs in Herkimer, and I am addicted to the variety AND QUALITY of pizzas available here. In an area (CNY) known for the best pizza places in the world, and where I find it difficult to rank one against another, this one is well worth checking out!

The pizza was very delicious. Got there later in the evening, and we ordered 2 large pies. We never felt rushed, and the waitress was attentive and enthusiastic. I would recommend Vinny's, and look forward to visiting again.

I love this place, especially their subs! My go to is the chicken sub which you have the choice of grilled or crispy. Also a choice of cheese, provolone or american. For a large sub, it's like $15 and it is indeed a generous size. So I definitely recommend! So Vinny's is open from 11:00am to 8:00pm. They have a dining room too but at certain early hours of the day.

Pizza was delicious! Tons of pepperoni! Also got a slice of chicken wings pizza and it was huge and delicious! Sooo much chicken! Crust was perfect! He even made sure my blu cheese was in the box. We also got garlic knots and they were super yummy! The sauce was super delicious! Would definitely recommend!

Got a Sicilian pizza tonight. First time trying this place. After several failed attempts of getting a good Sicilian pizza at other local pizzerias through Herkimer, Frankfort, Ilion, Newport and little falls. I was very happy to try this place. It was so good.

Almost everything we've had is delicious. The subs are huge! This is our Friday fish fry go-to. The chicken riggies were ok; chicken was a little dry, and some of the noodles around the outside of the dish were dry. No complaints about anything else, though! The indoor seating was closed when we went, but we were doing takeout anyway. They get very busy for a reason!

First time trying their wings and unfortunately I think I got someone else's order as they weren't the flavor of wings I ordered. They were okay but not what I was expecting. It was a busy Saturday night but the staff seemed calm and enjoying work. I ordered ahead and thought 45-55 minutes would be enough time to get a simple order together but it ended up taking closer to 75 minutes because we were waiting on the fries and guess what... Their fries were worth the wait! I wish I would have gotten more ketchup when I asked but she assured me there was some in the bag. She was right three ketchup packets supplied about 1/5 of the fries with some color. Luckily, the fries were amazing without anything but could have been next level addicting if I had something to dip them in. I didn't mind waiting and watching the pizza making operation but I would probably stick to a slice next time so I can get in and out.

I've never had a bad meal from Vinny's. The service is decent. I thoroughly enjoy the chicken wing pizza and the blue hot wings.

Pizza is great but staff is not very friendly. Always seem bothered when we arrive to get our order. Rarely thanked for our business.

The wings were delicious but the calzone was absolutely horrible. It was supposed to be a chicken wing calzone and it was just overstuffed with cheese and no buffalo sauce. Ended going up and throwing up that night

Drove out to Herkimer from Amsterdam for some pizza and the dining room was closed so we drove back to Amsterdam, stopping at New York Pizzaria in Ft Plain where we could sit and eat some amazing pizza. The fact that vinnies can't get their stuff together is sad. It used to worth the drive but today they wasted my time and money. Never again.

Subs are maid by kids you get 1/2 of what you paid for. This has been done on and off we are done with vinny's. One sub had more on it then the other. It sucks

Subs are not the same when you buy a sub it should be the same every time. But new help is not doing a good job we pay a good price for the food even that goes up and the size goes down?. We will not buy from them anymore. The pizza is smaller than it was before big Jim's would put them to shame, if that were still here.

I would have given them no stars, order 6 meals took over 2hours to get the food. Not a happy camper will not be ordering again.

Waited at least 20mins to have our drink order placed and handed a menu. Another 45mins for the food that wasn't even that good. This always seems to be an on going problem. Just even eat-in here.

Spent $50 on greasy pizza that tasted like someone sprinkled sugar on top, greasy "onions petals," and the only good thing about the wings was the garlic parm sauce it's self. On top of that, they wouldn't accept a gift card from there store, due to it being old. ( I got it in December as a bonus for working on Christmas)
