Many reviewers praise the attentive service, especially mentioning servers like Bella, Kristine/Christine, and Euliah. Some note inconsistent sashimi quality and potential wait times, especially on weekends.

Unbelievable value. I'm impressed that Oma Sushi overthrew my favorite AYCE sushi spot by a wide margin. If it weren't so far from us, we'd go more often. $48 for one incl tax and 20% tip. That's on par with a chirashi at most higher-end sushi restaurants these days - yet includes a chopped toro nigiri (one per person). The 2-hr clock starts on your first order. A few appetizers are good, but my favorite sections are the seared and speciality nigiri that come with kizami, or grated wasabi I mean, look at the spread (for four) in my pictures below. Items to get: - Thai Chili Garlic Hamachi - got this 3x - Seared Nigiri, esp. Seared scallop with kizami and tobiko, and anything with kizami - Specialty Nigiri, esp salmon belly/ikura and chopped scallop - Fried rock shrimp salad - but with no sauce - Salmon skin hand roll with no eel sauce - Steak The only downside is that each nigiri has a LOT of rice, which adds up quickly. Wouldn’t get again: - Nigiri: Ika (fishy), yellow tobiko Didn’t get to try and will try next time: - Tuna/beef tataki - Yellowtail jalapeno - Galbi/bulgogi - Fish tofu skewer - Saba nigiri - HALF Rolls: OMG, Trust Me Baby - One scoop each of red bean and green tea ice cream Service was prompt (thanks, Kyle) and the place looks nice - it gives a bit of a modern Chinese restaurant vibe and not in a bad way. We went to celebrate a birthday and got a free crème brûlée alongside the green tea ice cream and fried sesame balls. 10/10 will go again. Call to reserve a table in advance! Plenty of parking.
The food here is amazing. I love the ambience and the service is also perfect. I’ve been here a few times and every time I go they surprise me with new items. The quality of food here is awesome. If someone like me loves sushi should try rock n roll, oma roll especially. Best all you can eat in houston!!😁
It’s fantastic. The best AYCE sushi I’ve ever had. The seared nigiri is my favorite. So many options and the quality and taste of each dish is exceptional considering the price. You pay around $40 or so for as much delicious sushi as you can ever eat; I don’t know how it gets better than that. I love, love, LOVE Oma Sushi :)
My family and I come and eat here quite often. We have had many family birthdays, gatherings, and great lunches here. The food is always excellent, fresh and Full of variety. Rocky, the manager is very hospitable, allowing for a family oriented environment that places service and performance first. I can also say that every server I have ever had at Oma Sushi is very personable, and genuinely happy to help. I highly recommend Oma! It’s one of my favorites.
We been coming here for AYCE since they opened. Hands down the best in the area! We came here for dinner on a packed Friday night, Rocky who is one of the managers, did very well greeting everyone and making them all feel welcomed and appreciated. On the way out he made sure our service was excellent and our experience was great. A restaurant can’t be good with just the food by itself, Rocky and his staff were very friendly and attentive and on a busy Friday night AYCE our orders came out in a very good manner with little wait and plate presentation was not rushed. We will continue to dine here our family enjoys this place.
We were immediately seated on a Sunday night and treated so well by Bella! She was so lovely and gave great recommendations for our party that were a bit indecisive about what to get. She truly went above and beyond, and we were all happy with our food and her service. We will definitely be requesting her at our next visit! All of the items that we had came out at a good time and the fish was consistently good quality.
The place is only the biggest AYCE sushi places I’ve been to and they have al carte items as well. There’s a few things on the menu that is limited like the toro you only get 1 per person. I really loved the fact that you could get half of a roll portion instead of 8 you can get 4 pieces. The service was also great. We got seating right away and the server was attentive. The only thing I wish is that they had the pencil and paper to write down the rolls you want instead of having the server have to wait for you to choose your order. Even having an electronic device to make your order would’ve been acceptable. The place was actually decorated nicely and they also had a second floor and elevator to get up there for the staff. There was plenty of parking but it gets filled up quick because it’s in the strip near other restaurants and stores. There were some rolls that didn’t make the mark for me but others were good. I did notice that the rolls are smaller than what you normally would get at other places.
Amazing experience at Oma Sushi! The food was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything we ordered was delicious. Bella was a great waitress! Super friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. She checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed. Definitely coming back and asking for Bella again!
The AYCE dinner menu here offers a good variety, though the quality can vary. The sashimi cuts were inconsistent, but still fresh overall. The hibachi steak and shrimp were perfectly cooked. The seared nigiri is definitely worth a try. Hamachi Kama was underwhelming. Rock shrimp salad was a disappointment—soggy fried shrimp served over roughly chopped iceberg lettuce. Several dark plates had visible fingerprints, which was hard to overlook. Also, placing receipts over the food, especially within the customer’s view, is something that really should be avoided. The quality of the food seems to depend on how busy the restaurant is. When it’s less crowded, the food and presentation seem to get a little more attention.
had birthday dinner there and it was second time. fresh and delicious sushi and food was served quickly. my waitress was attentive and always around to help taking new orders. the best part is you can request half portion so you can try more other dishes. Only one set back is other places would include at least few options of softdrink with ayce menu but this place only offers water.
By far my favorite all you can eat sushi place. Big menu, reasonable prices, a nice atmosphere and fresh ingredients. But a standout here was my server. A super nice, kind, girl named Euliah. She said she was new but made the experience so much better; she stopped to chat with us and told us about the restaurant and lots of the menu items. 5 stars.
Delicious food with good views. All you can eat. Multiple choices come in proper portions so we can taste many different foods we like. One of my friends is a vegetarian and there are many options for him and he enjoys the dinner very much ,too. Most importantly, the price is reasonable.
The wifey and I came for a date night. We were actually staying at a hotel nearby (across the bridge - house was getting foundation work done) Service was great. I can't remember the guy but we was very attentive. Food was yummy. The sushi was seriously on-point. The apps were good...but the wifey wasn't feeling the calamari. It didn't taste bad...I enjoyed them....she just didn't like how they looked...little circles. 😂 The vibe was great. Yeah, we're definitely coming back...and when we do - we're brining the rest of the family.
I had ayce lunch. Firstly, very nice restaurant. They have many different categories such as Baos, hibachi, nigiri, rolls, cooked and raw stuffs. Sushi appetizers is limited 2 per person. They promote Hamachi Karma free for 2ppls but ran out, so disappointed. I also ordered a Tiger’s eye roll, tastes not good, especially they put green bell peppers rather than jalapeno (why???) Anw, I like the crab puffs and hibachi stuffs.
Nice atmosphere. Good sushi. Had the all you can eat which was cost effective and good for my 1st time because it allowed me to try a lot of different things. The a la carte price can add up quickly. Food was delivered very quickly
Oma Sushi exceeded my expectations! I’m not usually into all-you-can-eat places, but this spot was impressive. Visited on a packed Friday, and despite the crowd, our server was super attentive, keeping everything smooth. The sushi was fresh, with a great variety for just $35 awesome value for the price. Highly recommend giving it a try!
Food is great for AYCE, but we have visited three times within the last month and prices have increased. The quality remains the same despite price increases, and weekend service is not great. We waited about 1 hour to be seated and it took another 20 minutes to receive service. Orders took a long time to come out, and we placed orders while still waiting for our entire previous order for 10+ minutes. Maybe they could benefit from separating the menu into AYCE and premium AYCE to preserve prices for diners who do not eat premium items like sashimi. Overall, food is delicious, menu is friendly for the pallets of many, atmosphere is lively, and service is just ok at times, but pricing is definitely getting too high!
Came to try the ACYE sushi since I heard pretty good reviews and thing. I came on a Friday night and there was a pretty long wait time (1 hour) for a table for two. I noticed that the only way to get a reservation is through call or joining a wait list (no online reservation). So be prepared to wait if you come with no reservation and on a weekend night. The place has a lot of seating and able to hold large party since there is a second floor with larger tables. The menu has a large selection from hot & cold appetizers, skewers, hibachi, sushi roll, sashimi, nigiri, etc. The food was good and came out at a decent pace despite being busy. Though a lot of the food were too overly salted and a handful of items were out. My server was very nice and told us about the new items that were added to the menu. I noticed that the staff often time stood and just stared along with from the overheads balcony on the second floor making it very uncomfortable to eat but that could just be me. Overall, food was good and definitely recommend coming early for a table if you're coming during dinner hours.
Oma Sushi was recommend by a friend as their favorite local stop. Wish we could say it was enjoyable. On our visit, not peak hours, there wasn't a seat available. Service at the bar was spotty at best, we ordered several different sushi. Order the missing parts again when they never showed the first time. 3rd time we request our order, are informed that they are out. The only dish worth mentioning to try would be the seared yellowtail. It was delicious. The shaggy dog tasted like it was wrapped in ginger. The rest was mostly a miss for us. There has to be better in the area. What's your favorite Sushi spot in Sugarland? What pieces do you recommend? Until next time.
This used to be a really good restaurant but after frequent staff/server changes, it’s really gone down hill. The rolls are extremely small and some of the waiters can be quite rude and overly stressed all the time. We waited 30 minutes for one item before we were about to leave and the runners gave us over 5 wrong items during the course of our meal. They were also missing ingredients to some of the few rolls I could eat with my allergy so I couldn’t order much sushi anyways. With the recent 3$ up charge, I hope to increase my rating in the future because they have really good and unique items.
This review is especially disappointing for us to write because my family and I truly loved this restaurant. We came here every week, sometimes multiple times a week, and over time spent thousands of dollars because we enjoyed it that much. We even brought a lot of family members and friends here. Unfortunately, during our last visit while sitting at the sushi bar, we saw three cockroaches crawling on the counter. One of them went in the area where the fish was kept. We told our server after the first roach, but no action was taken. It wasn’t until the second or third one appeared that she notified someone and we were asked if we wanted to move. Both the server(new, older woman with bangs and glasses) and management(man with cap) did not apologize or seem concerned. That experience completely put a bad taste in our mouth, especially because the roaches were near the food. We haven’t been back since, which is unfortunate given how much we genuinely loved this place before. I understand one roach sighting can happen even in clean places but multiple sightings and seeing them in dining area = 🚩. In the food prep area is not okay. If they had responded differently, I probably wouldn’t have left this review.
