Awesome brunch Cafe located right off White Oak Bayou! Place is very welcoming for kids and families. They have a printer on-site if you are needing a place to work and they even have towels to dry off your sweat of you are coming in from a run or a bike ride. The peanut butter and banana bagel and the strawberry and Nutella bagel were very good! The place even provided colors and coloring pages for my kids as we waited. Going back for the French toast as it is recommended!
Fresh and clean new coffee shop in the hub of the Heights. Very convenient location and extremely high quality coffee, juices, and food. Experienced and friendly team and definitely worth checking out! I love they have a deck to work from and enjoy the beautiful Houston weather.
Cute place, not busy at noon on a Saturday but, probably would be for breakfast. Parking is hard to find, parking lot is small but, free. Street parking but, full with locals. Free wifi with info displayed. Lots of seating indoors and out, umbrellas too. Small menu but, everything is local made or sourced. Known for their smoked brisket taco, lived up to the hype. Served hot, great filling to taco ratio, wonderful smoky flavor. Choice of salsa, mild to spicy. Also ordered the lox on bagel. Generous amount of smoked salmon, toasted sesame bagel and the usual accompaniments. Everything fresh, not old. Would probably order to go and eat in the park nearby if weather permitting..was sunny but windy today and chilly.
Active Passion Coffee is such a gem in Houston! I came on a day when they had a halal menu and couldn’t resist—I got everything along with a few drinks, and everything was absolutely delicious. The cookie butter iced latte was next level, easily one of the best I’ve had. Service was warm and friendly, and you can tell they really care about their customers. Inside there are only a few spots, but the huge backyard and patio make it perfect for relaxing with friends or just enjoying the outdoors. Definitely a place I’ll keep coming back to!
Such a great spot! My drink was amazing. The matcha wasn’t too sweet, just the way it’s supposed to be! The kimchi grilled cheese was top tier 🤤🤤 My friend got one of their seasonal drinks, and it literally tasted like an apple! We both loved everything. Can’t wait to come back and try more from the menu! 🍵🧀🍎
This coffee shop is so nice. The staff is so kind and the coffee hot or iced is very delicious. I had book club here twice so the atmosphere is great and will definitely come back. The staff was ok that I ordered an iced latte on a very cold day lol
Great neighborhood place for breakfast/lunch and coffee. They have a little kids sections with games and books which makes it easy if you have kids. It’s order at the register vs a sit down. Once we walked in they did greet us but there was an awkward interaction. There was a person that was making some coffees and seemed like she might have been either the owner or manager but wasn’t in the best of moods - understand the place was busy but she was being a bit rude to some of the employees which made it awkward for us when ordering as we could hear the whole thing first hand. I feel more bad for the employees. Her mood was a bit different once the orders calmed down. The campfire cold brew was good it’s basically a mocha cold brew with a vanilla cold foam and graham cracker crumble on top. It was pretty good. The french toast was also good. Comes with 2 toasts and some whipped butter on top and side of berries. The lox bagel by the looks of it looks tasty. It had a healthy filling of smoked salmon, cream cheese, onions, dill, capers and cucumbers. It’s quite filling plus the arugula salad makes it worth the price. The flavors are ok - it’s not the best or the worst lox bagel you will have but it does the job so no complaints.
Unique cafe with retro vibes. I’m following the Houston Cafe Passport recommendations. It does not disappoint! This cafe is perfect for trying something new, and not your typical cafe shop. A bit pricey, however it is a treat worth indulging. Would recommend if you are in the Houston area.
This place is definitely dog friendly!! 🐶🐾 four paws up!! Their food was delicious. The brisket egg taco was so good. Excellent tortilla, yummy eggs and good brisket. My only wish was for more brisket!! Good side avacado--plenty of that. Great salsa. The green tea was very tasty. The Nutella bagel was good. It was interesting that they added pistachios to it. There was an issue with the lemonade--it was just flavorless somehow. It was sour, but not tasty. Now the dogs will add their review. They had a plain egg taco. They loved it and want more. The staff definitely listened when a taco was ordered for the pups, and they made it plain for them. The dogs were sad that they aren't allowed into the restaurant. They said it looked very fun inside and definitely smelled good. They were very welcome on the patio. There's lots of room and big umbrellas. The pups heard from another dog visiting the patio that pup cups were available. The dogs loved the pup cups. They say the teeny milkbones were an excellent addition. They will be back. Great staff: quick service. The only mystery is: what's that weird character on their table numbers. Our server didn't know--it's a puzzle to be solved next time.
The avocado toast was tasty and the kitchen wasn't slow, despite the busy coffee shop. I come back often. They've added a biscuit to hold an egg and bacon or egg and ham breakfast. I like bacon more so I had that. Tasty, despite the dessicated biscuit that crumbled, so I just devoured it with a fork instead treating it like a sandwich. I'll likely have it again tomorrow.
I wish I had discovered this place sooner! The Chicken Vermicelli was delicious! And the oat milk latter and passion juice were so good! Plus it has WiFi and you can print here (I haven’t used the printing yet but it seems super convenient especially if you need to print something when moving and your stuff is packed away)
Wow! I came by because I had a coupon but it was amazing! The food and coffee were both delicious and fresh. It looks like a cyclist's wonderland. Not to mention the awesome fast and friendly service. The owner was extremely kind and sweet to us. I will definitely be coming back!
Great spot. Very good coffee and pastries. I ordered a quad cappuccino and it was very nicely done ... as good as any in town. The chocolate zucchini bread was fantastic. Love that the shop is geared to fitness minded people. Lots of running and triathlon themed items around the shop. Also art work and coffee and tea retail items to purchase. Parking was straightforward. Easy access to the Bayou trails as well.
Stopped in after a very early morning flight for a late breakfast. Got the Loaded Loc Sesame Bagel, add fried egg. BEST breakfast sandwich ever! So tasty and filling. The salmon was perfect and the capers added a unique touch of flavor. Paired it with a rose vanilla latte with Oatmilk and enjoyed the outdoor seating with this great weather we have today! Staff were super friendly, knowledgeable of the menu and happy to offer suggestions based on my preferences. Will definitely return and share my experience with others.

This is such a uniquely awesome coffee shop! Highly recommended. Friendly and fun staff, great coffee and food, and the setting is clean, stylish, and chill. Try the chocolate zucchini muffin…it’s my new addiction! The owner Lynda really cares and is passionate about creating a great experience.

Active Passion is a neighborhood gem! They have friendly staff and delicious food served in a lovely atmosphere. Coffee is top notch. The “active breakfast bowl” is my fav meal and very reasonably priced. Don’t forget the peaceful shaded pet-friendly patio out back!
Love that they make all their own delicious latte syrups! Lovely ambiance, lots of light, and I LOVED the kimchee grilled cheese on sourdough with a fried egg. The barista was also super sweet & a great listener & helped me make great selections! Will definitely come back & bring my family!!!
I don’t live near AP but I will drive here any time of day for the delicious coffee and amazing food! I always appreciate the drink recommendations from Diane the barista. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The pastries are always on point. Love the variety of menu options from Chef Zoch for breakfast, brunch, lunch or now even dinner! Best chicken shawarma wrap in Houston. Recently tried the bahn mi sandwich - outstanding. Vermicelli bowl? Can’t eat enough of it. If I lived in the Heights area I would be at this cute coffee shop 24/7. If you haven’t tried it yet, do yourself a favor and check it out.

Just dropped by Active Passion for a caffeine fix, and I’ve got to say, the coffee here is absolutely fantastic! 👌☕ The service was spot on, too – friendly baristas who know their craft and make you feel right at home. Now, let’s talk about the vibe. Active Passion has a cool atmosphere, but there’s one little hiccup - it’s a bit chilly inside. So, if you’re planning to hang out for a while, bring a sweater or enjoy a hot drink to warm up. Oh, and about those benches - they’re not the comfiest. If you’re planning to work or chat with friends for an extended period, you might just opt for one of the cozier chairs. The bench seats are so high! But hey, the coffee and service more than make up for these minor issues. I’ll definitely be back for my caffeine fix! 😄☕👍
Great spot! The matcha was smooth and well made, and the blueberry muffin was fresh and delicious. Perfect combo—will definitely be back.
Went here this morning for brunch, i had never tried it before. my girlfriend and I both ordered a BLT, the food was fine if not a little disappointing and bland for the money, especially considering the other options in the heights area. The dining room had one section dedicated to a merch store and while there was plenty of seating the booth was hard and fairly uncomfortable.
My friends and I decided to visit Active Passion for brunch. Upon entering we were not greeted. We browsed the menu and decided to get some sandwiches and drinks. I am not a fan of businesses which charge extra for alternative milk options, so I was disappointed when ordering my latte. I was aware of this price increase when glancing at the menu, but the associate did not inform me of the extra charge when I placed my order. Additionally, for a latte that starts at $5 (without alternative milk, or flavours), I would expect something bigger than the palm of my hand. Our drinks were okay. The food was better, but a little on the oily side. They also do not have straws, despite there being many alternatives to plastic these days (bamboo, metal, paper). This didn’t affect our group, but please note that they are cashless. While our experience wasn’t the worst, we won’t be returning.
