Was Kunden über Christy's sagen
Christy's Donuts is a beloved, old-school Houston donut shop known for its fresh, warm glazed donuts and Chappell Hill sausage kolaches. Customers praise the friendly staff and quick service, but some find the menu confusing and the coffee served in styrofoam cups a drawback.

Tip: Go early for the freshest donuts and kolaches, as they sometimes sell out by the afternoon. Be prepared for a possible line, but know that the service is usually quick.

Friendly neighborhood shop with good donuts and Chappell Hill sausage (the best) kolaches! This is the only place I’ve found them inside the loop.
The only place that I can say is better than Shipley donuts. Shipley used to be the best but they lack consistency. Christie’s is great. My favorite is glazed.
Christy’s Donuts on West Gray is truly an institution and an icon in Houston. A traditional-style shop with a personal touch, it’s a wonderful family-run business that has been serving the community for as long as I can remember. They’ve been my go-to spot on Friday mornings for decades to pick up excellent donuts, kolaches, and breakfast tacos for our work team. The quality is always fresh and outstanding, the service is warm and welcoming, and it’s the kind of place that feels like part of the city’s heartbeat. A true Houston treasure!
Absolutely WONDERFUL local donut shop. Perfect in every old-school way. Wish they were open 24/7 but they're a godsend for early mornings/insomnia nights. Big selection of donuts and kolaches (and don't miss out on the donut holes and croissant kolaches!) quick friendly staff good prices... Please bring cash for tips or remember to ask them to let you input a tip you're paying by card. They deserve it. Mostly takeout but they have a few tables to dine in.
Good donut spot. Everything was ready even at opening between 4-5am. I got the glazed donut which was slightly worse than Shipey’s but still good. The old fashioned here might be the best I’ve had in Houston. Also the apple fritter here is just ok - I like the one over at Queen donut better. They tossed in a couple of free donut holes which was awesome
This local neighborhood donut shop has been serving tasty treats for decades in Houston. The sweet, fluffy, and tasty treats are served by a helpful and amazing staff. The donuts along with other pastries, breakfast sandwiches, and kolaches are a staple at this place. All the treats taste delicious. There is a selection of drinks along with coffee. Overall a great local shop to fulfill your sweet tooth or breakfast items.
Christy’s is a true gem! This place is the real deal. Their menu is simple and the vibe is vintage-diner-homey. The staff show patience and kindness while offering great suggestions to first-timers. Apparently they open at 4am and close around 2p (or whenever they sell out). The prices are extremely reasonable for what you get. My husband and I ate breakfast for less that $10. We each got a Kolache and a donut, which both just about melted in our mouths! It looks like a true hole in the wall and I would strongly recommend this as your go to morning pit stop.
Maybe the best glazed donut I’ve ever had in my life was purchased at this wonderful store. They had an amazing selection. Service was fast and friendly. I can’t wait to go back. My only nitpick is that coffee is served in styrofoam cups, which seems to be the custom in most donut shops in Houston, so I won’t take any points off for that. Next time, I’ll bring my own cup. Thank you Christy’s for a wonderful experience.
Excellent and delicious selections of donuts and kolaches. Staff is friendly and helpful. Service was very quick, even though there was a long line. The glazed donuts were fresh even though visit occurred later in the morning. Pricing is competitive. Access is easy and there is limited parking.
Best experience ever!!! Christy's Donuts and Kolaches are so good. The prices are so reasonable. I love love, how the donuts are so soft and delicious. Plus, I bought donuts with chocolate icing on top and a croissant with cheese and sausage so good. People everywhere this place is a must stop and buy a dozen donuts glaze and assorted favors. All I can say is yummy donuts.
finally tried this place after passing by million times. im not much of a donut person but this spot was highly recommended when i was searching for delicious kolache. i always see lines of people in the morning here.! anyways, walked in, they had a whole menu but it was confusing. i wish the menu was written on the glass window with simple $. i wasnt sure what to order so i just got the mini donuts, strawberry/chocolate/vanilla donuts one each and sausage kolache. the kolache was super simple which it was a bit of a let down. the kolache bun was good but i was expecting for it to be a breakfast type kolache where it will fill you up. i think all the kolaches they have are really basic,. so i dont think im gonna get that again. the flavored donuts were good and i loved the mini donuts! i liked how they werent overly sweet. that was a big plus for me. and the overall pricing was reasonable.
Had to show some love to small businesses like this! I purchased 3 boxes and some donut holes for my work anniversary. Thank you for the prompt service! The only thing I would say is the donuts look a little smushed and I would of purchased more, however didn’t want to purchase the smashed ones.
This donut place is pretty delicious, and better than average for sure. I really enjoyed the boudin kolache. It's really different. Chocolate old fashion was also well done. Donut holes were a little dense for my taste. This is a quintessential old style donut place, and I recommend you give it a try. Less flash, more substance then some newer donut places with a high quality product.
Whenever I come in I see usually a few people and I understand that there is a need to serve the customers but for some reason I always get rushed by one of the employees...I only grab 1 or 2 things and it'll come out to like 11-12$ for a bacon and egg croissant and a jumbo cheese kolache...even though I'm looking at the menu..I even tried a cinnamon twist just because and I couldn't finish half of it due to it being a bit dry....the other employees are delightful and helpful but I've noticed customer service lacking in the need to get people out the door
Not like it used to be customer service and kolaches, it's really gone down in 2026. I only stop by because it's literally blocks away from my job so I'll pick up a few for my coworkers. The two times I've gone I've had to repeat myself not to heat them up because when they do the bread tastes like rubber later but they are two busy talking among themselves to listen . The two women at the counter now aren't as pleasant as the men that used to work the counter . Not sure if they changed the recipe towards their kolaches but if you don't eat it at that moment the texture is real tuff to eat later. Please bring the young man back that attended to everyone with a smile and made sure the customers were taken care of in a timely manner
I’ve driven by this place so many times, and with all the high reviews online, I figured, why not finally give it a try? I love checking out new donut shops, and it’s usually either a hit or a miss. Unfortunately, this one was a big miss for me. I got an old-fashioned donut with chocolate icing and a cinnamon twist, while my girlfriend went with a regular chocolate-iced donut. They also threw in a few donut holes for free, which was a nice touch. Right away, the old-fashioned donut was extremely dry. Felt like I needed a sip of water with every bite. From there, things didn’t improve much. The cinnamon twist and the regular chocolate donut were also dry and lacking flavor, and even the donut holes had a strange taste. Overall, it was edible, but not enjoyable. I unfortunately had to throw away what wasn’t eaten which I hate having to do. Unfortunately would not come back here.
Went in with a friend to get some Donuts, etc. He was still coming in the door and behind the counter stood three people. One right away asked to help. We hadn't even got to look to see what they had and we wanted. I said please, he didn't know. Then another asked abruptly for our order. I looked at them, said please to give us a second as I was trying to ask him. A third person asked. Mind you, NO ONE IS IN LINE WAITING, just us. Then we start getting attitude from one. Should they not also ask if you want your food warmed, which we did not. I'm trying to tell them it is to go, not to warm the food. The one girl yells back, You should have told us. Just crazy. Then no receipt and they didn't give us all our food, we found out once in the car. We were actually being yelled at and laughed at. I walked out, while the friend said she was still bad mouthing us after he got the bags. I just don't get it. Let the customer look briefly, order from one person, not three talking to you. Then they took it personally when I said we were together and one person is all we needed to deal with. They were wrong, they did not give us all our food. It was not a good experience, and not one you'd expect when just going into a store for some treats. RUINED IT
