Consistently good barbecue in the area. Wide variety of options on their menu. Their breakfast tacos are amazing - I highly recommend trying them if you haven't! Online ordering is also nice and easy. They have a food locker they put your order in when ready, send you a text with an individual code, and it's a human-free interaction walking in and picking it up afterwards. If you haven't checked out this local BBQ restaurant, I certainly recommend giving it a shot.

I had to try this place after seeing the chef/owner on BBQ Brawl. It did not disappoint! Brisket was the best I’ve had in Texas, house sausage was the best sausage I’ve ever had, dirty rice was bomb, and candied yams were amazing. I’ll be making a stop every time I’m in Houston.

Ordered brisket (flat), spare ribs (St Louis cuts), and back ribs. All three were enjoyable. Brisket was perfectly trimmed, seasoned, and smoked. Meat was tender, though slightly dry. Not the top tier that I had from other places, but certainly delicious. Back ribs were delicious. Well seasoned and cooked. The outside was a bit crunchy, probably because being under open fire for too long, while inside was fall of the bone. So after all, I liked them. Spare ribs seemed to be cooked first then trimmed the tip flap away, turning the ribs to St Louis style. Seasoning/flavor was very good. The meat was cooked slightly under fall-off-the-done tenderness. Cartilage was still tough to bite down though eatable. I wish they could be cooked a bit longer. Overall, this is a 30-dollar meal, having three meats in good portions. Seasoning/trimming/cooking were all well done by the pitmaster, in my opinion. Highly recommend.

Found this place through the food network show BBQ brawl. When celebrity chefs endorse a restaurant it is imperative to try it. I was glad I found this place in Houston, TX. The raspberry habanero wings were perfectly smoked and extremely flavourful without being ridiculously spicy. The pulled pork was juicy and tender. The portion size is massive and I was able to get two meals out of it. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Houston. The reason I gave four stars for the atmosphere is because the seats were not comfortable. A minor headache one can overlook over the wonderful food and staff.

Ambiance: Rustic & clean BBQ spot with an amazing selection of meat plates, sides, and sandwiches! Fast and friendly service. Incredibly welcoming atmosphere, seemed many customers were returning patrons who knew the staff- something you rarely see these days! The Mac & cheese was delicious! Every side we ordered was very good. Highly recommend the smoked corn. The brisket was tender and a delicious flavor. Parking onsite. Food was brought out quickly despite being fairly busy for a Friday post-lunch crowd. Highly recommend Gatlin's!

Great place! Can’t speak to the bar b que because we never tried it…but don’t sleep on the burgers here - they are AWESOME! Really friendly staff, and a nice clean cozy, casual, atmosphere. Will totally be coming back again!!

Gatlin's has been on my "want to try" list for a while. It was a great experience. The food was wonderful, as was the service. The glaze on the ribs is a nice flavor. The bbq sauce on the side is good also. Hate driving into Houston, but we'll definitely be back.

We arrived at around 345 PM on a Saturday. There was plenty of parking. We've waited about 5 minutes in line to food order not long of a wait at all. The cashier was so helpful. We've waited for about 10 minutes for the food. The test of the food: the brisket was soft and a tiny dry- still good. The pork rib was amazingly flavored and falling off the bone, my favorite. The spicy sausage was a perfect hot deliciousness. The mac and cheese was cheesy and slightly seasoned- so good. The cucumber salad was a perfect tangy and crunch. The Fries is better than McDonald's. There was an employee checking on us if we needed anything and also came collecting for dirty plates and utensils. Overall my experience was exceptional. The environment wasn't so congested and loud. Family friendly. I will definitely come back again.

So, I had Gatlin’s on my must go list of BBQ joints. I heard so much about them and saw the owner on TV explaining the technique and process used on his BBQ. He caught my attention because he uses hickory wood to smoke the meats. I love hickory smoked BBQ. Well, I wasn’t disappointed! Every single item I ordered with the exception of potato salad (good but not great) was great. The ribs literally fell off the bone while I was taking a bite. They were so tender and juicy, and enhanced by that infused hickory smoke! The spicy sausage was spot on delicious. Now, I came there for the baby-back ribs, but to my surprise the collard greens and that mac and cheese stole the show. They were excellent just like grandma used to make. I’ve traveled the world and tasted BBQ from all points of it, but I have to say Gatlin’s is in my top 10 BBQ spots in the country! If you haven’t tried this place please do, you will not be disappointed! Oh, I didn’t get to try the smoked bologna sandwich (sold out) but I’ll be back!

I go there for lunch 4 times a week. Great BBQ and wonderful staff! The brisket, baby back ribs, and sandwiches are to die for!

Very good. The ribs and the spicy sausage were great. Ribs were cooked to perfection. The mac n cheese was better than most and so was the cole slaw. MIght be a bit more expensive than other bbq places. $30 seems like a lot for one 2-meat plate. But, I'll return. The place has a nice vibe. The service was fast and friendly.

This restaurant was on our list to try while in Houston. My family and I all ordered the ribs with sides (collard greens, Mac & cheese, dirty rice). The ribs were good but better with the sauce that came on the side. The Mac & Cheese was cheesy but not flavorful, the dirty rice was good, and the collard greens had spice but not flavorful.

Gatlin's BBQ presents a tempting tableau of smoked meats, and the siren call of the three-meat plate proved irresistible. For a modest premium over the two-meat option, the opportunity to sample brisket, ribs, and chicken alongside potato salad and baked beans was too good to pass up. My companion ventured into less-charted territory with the dirty rice and smoked corn. The service, it must be said, was a masterclass in Southern hospitality. The staff's effervescent warmth could melt the iciest of dispositions, setting a convivial tone for the meal. While the exterior hinted at a bustling establishment, the efficient system of pagers and ample seating, likely bolstered by a robust takeout business, ensured a surprisingly swift transition from arrival to table. The platter itself was a feast for the eyes, a smoky still life begging to be devoured. My first foray was into the ribs, and they were, without a doubt, the star of the show. Falling off the bone with the slightest provocation, they possessed that elusive balance of smoky depth and tender succulence – a true testament to the pitmaster's art. The lean brisket, generously endowed with bark, delivered on its promise of flavor and tenderness. A slight disappointment, however, came in the form of the white meat chicken, which, while visually appealing, proved drier than desired. The sides, while perfectly acceptable, lacked a certain je ne sais quoi. They served their purpose without venturing beyond the realm of the familiar, save for the dirty rice, which offered a welcome counterpoint to the richness of the meats. In summation, Gatlin's BBQ offers a compelling, if not entirely flawless, barbecue experience. The ribs alone are worth the pilgrimage, and the brisket certainly holds its own. While the chicken and sides could benefit from a touch more innovation, the overall quality and exceptional service make Gatlin's a worthy destination for any carnivore. Next on the agenda: a deeper dive into the sausage offerings, and a repeat performance with those magnificent ribs.

So, I get the same thing when trying out a new BBQ spot to compare. Moist Brisket, Mac and Sweet Potatoes. Brisket was just ok, bark had no taste at all, meat was sufficiently moist but needed sauce and good BBQ doesn't need sauce. Mac was solid, good flavor and creamy. Sweet potatoes were extra sweet, straight diabetes sweet. If you like super sweet in a pool of sweet juice, you'll like it but a tad too much for me. Nice establishment, everybody was nice. I'd come back and try something different but no need to hurry back or anything.

I’m sorry, but the barbecue is just okay. The same goes for the sides. We had macaroni and cheese, potato salad, fries, yams, dirty rice, greens, and corn. The only good sides were the corn and yams. The fries were decent. Everything else was just okay. I raved about Gatlin’s F&F when I reviewed it, so I thought this place would be just as good, but it disappointed me. Aside from that, the customer service is exceptional!!! They treated us and talked to us like we were family. If i were to go back, it would be because of the service.
