Wow! Drove from Dallas and found this gem! Amazing food, outstanding service and staff, unique and delicious cocktails, and OMG the Mexican pizza !!😋 We were in the area for two nights and both nights we went to this awesome restaurant...such a GREAT atmosphere toooo! HIGHLY recommend!!!!!!!! A++++
I had the best of times there on Thursday night for bingo. The food was great and they had some nice aguas frescas, remember, it's not a real Mexican restaurant if they don't serve aguas frescas!!!! The service was perfect, not too pushy but didn't neglect either.
Went on a whim with the fam and boy are we glad we did! Our go to Mexican restaurant wasn't up par anymore but Julio's delivered. Our server, David, was so nice and checked on us constantly. I had the El Juanka and it was delicious!! Will definitely be back because there was so much more we want to try!! 5 out of 5 would recommend
Not sure why it has taken us so long to try this place. Service was amazing with not only our server checking on us but the manager and other employees making sure we had everything we needed. We got the sampler and it was really good and the margaritas were tasty! We will definitely be coming back here often.
Julio’s Mexican Grill - A Solid Tex-Mex Spot in the Houston Area Overall Rating: 4.5/5 Julio’s Mexican Grill (with popular locations in Magnolia and Spring, Texas) is one of those reliable neighborhood Tex-Mex joints that hits the spot when you’re craving bold flavors, generous portions, and that classic sizzling fajita vibe. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel—it’s straightforward, fresh, and consistently delicious, with a menu rooted in authentic touches from regions like Michoacan and Yucatan. The atmosphere is casual and family-friendly, service is usually quick and welcoming, and the margaritas (especially the swirls or specialty ones like the Voodoo) are a standout—strong, tasty, and perfect for washing down the heat. I recently stopped in for a quick lunch and went straight for their Supreme Fajita Chicken Nachos (you can often upgrade the standard Supreme Nachos to fajita chicken for a small upcharge). If you’re a nacho lover like me, these are an absolute winner. The base starts with thick, sturdy corn tortilla chips that hold up beautifully under the mountain of toppings—no soggy disasters here. They’re layered with creamy refried beans, a blanket of melted Monterey Jack (or cheddar blend), and tender, juicy grilled fajita chicken that’s perfectly seasoned with that smoky char from the grill. Then come the classics: fresh lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced jalapeños for a kick, a dollop of cool sour cream, and creamy guacamole on the side. Sometimes you’ll get grilled onions and peppers mixed in if it’s a true fajita-style upgrade, adding that extra sizzle and sweetness. What elevates these nachos to “supreme” status is the balance—everything is fresh and plentiful without feeling greasy or overwhelming. The chicken is the star: moist, flavorful, and not dried out like you get at some chains. The cheese pulls in all the right ways, and the portion is huge (easily shareable or a full meal on its own). Paired with their house salsa (mild or hot—go hot if you dare) and queso for dipping, it’s pure comfort food bliss. At around $12-15 depending on the upgrade, it’s a steal. Minor nitpick: On busier nights, the kitchen can get slammed, so the chips might cool off a bit by the time they hit the table if you’re not diving in immediately. But that’s rare, and the flavors more than make up for it. If you’re in the Magnolia/Spring/The Woodlands area, Julio’s is worth a visit (or delivery—they nail takeout too). The fajitas are legendary, the tortillas are homemade heaven, but those Supreme Fajita Chicken Nachos? They’re my new go-to order. Highly recommend—your taste buds will thank you! 🌶️🧀🍗
A great place to eat with a great staff. Been going there for years and never had a bad meal. Always greeted at the entry, servers and bartenders are awesome, the owner even walks around and checks on the guests. Check Julio’s out and you won’t be disappointed!
Just had dinner with my family here and let me tell you it’s a hidden gem right here. The food was good and the atmosphere was amazing. The margarita was good , chips and salsa were amazing. The manager and servers were always asking if we need anything. First time here and definitely will be back !
Julio’s is always good! 🌮 The food is consistently great, and I love the margaritas and tacos 🌮 My family and I come here regularly, and we always feel welcome. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, and the atmosphere is perfect for family gatherings. I especially love how they celebrate birthdays here; it makes any special occasion even more memorable! Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine and a warm, inviting vibe!
This place has completely be revamped and expanded. I have never been here for what they’re famous for which is the Julio’s Mexican pizza but I do need to try it. We come typically for brunch. I love their chilaquiles, it’s typically all I order. Last time changed it up adding beef vs the chicken it comes with and did the red sauce and my photo depicts. The staff is always friendly and on point. You can’t blink before they’re there with a refill or replacement. Food is always fresh always out quickly and they can make just about anything you ask. Seating can be tight as the place is typically busy however they recently expanded and redecorated and the place looks great! Really enjoy the new place. Also order tostadas which were on point. Can’t really go wrong there. Menu is thorough and food is typically out quick. Bathroom is a uni and was clean when I used it.
First time here. My husband and I randomly decided to try this place out and we were not disappointed! I can not believe we live so close and have never been there before. It seems rather small on the outside and it’s not huge on the inside but they definitely make the most of the spacing. The staff was incredibly friendly and very attentive. Our drinks and chips were refilled and the food was so good. My only complaint is the rice was a little crunchy because it is served on the hot plate with the fajitas but I’m sure you can ask for it to be served on the side. We will definitely be back.
This is a hidden gem! We have been over a dozen times in the last 6 months and each time has been wonderful! The staff is always very friendly and the food is so hot and delicious! Today Dailene went above and beyond and exceeded all expectations for this place! Thanks to her, I tried a new margarita and we tried a new dish. Both were phenomenal 👏 🙌 😍!!! If you haven't tried this place out, you really are missing out.
We were looking for something new and good in The Woodlands area, we picked this place because the reviews were good. We were pleasantly surprised at how much we liked it. At 1st glance, this place is a small store front in a shopping strip but has lots to offer. When you walk in you are greeted with a friendly staff. Then there is this large bright bar with stools all around and spanish design, nothing over done. The menu is packed with lots of attractive items. I ordered the fajitas for 1 and they were so good. I really like that they put alot of grilled onions. The homemade flour tortillas was good, most places don't make fresh tortillas anymore. My wife ordered the birria tacos. The tacos were very good, packed with lots of meat and cheese. They were so tasty along side their fresh made Mexican rice. I asked for a hotter salsa then the 1 that came with the chips. They brought me a tasty habanero salsa. The salsa was not very hot but packed a lil kick. My wife really liked the horchata drink. I will definitely be returning when I'm back in the area.
I love this restaurant, and always have. Amazing food, and great staff. Whoever the manager was today on Tuesday the 4th, needs some retraining. Never in my career have a seen a manager have her phone on SPEAKER and yelling in the dining room, at a table. I came in for great food not to hear your conversation ACROSS the dining room. I’ve been in hospitality for years and best advice is to get off the floor, guest facing, and get yourself into the office. Amateur management today. Still 4 stars because the food is great but Julio please retrain this manager in common sense
The food is just so so here. The portion sizes are good. The taste and quality are not that great. I've been here twice now. About a year ago for the first time and just recently put the second time. I was not impressed either time. It's something to eat if you're hungry or if somebody wants you to go with them. It's not my first choice for Mexican food. The service was also lacking. I could get my water cup refilled, but I could not get my check taken so I could pay.
Got the beef fajita for 2 with creamy poblano. Very very good. The rice and beans were mediocre… not sure if the bartender was havin an off night or what but we were drinkin and I asked for a rum substitute over vodka . Then she goes off and come back and ask for our I.D after we were already 3 shots in .. fajitas is good but be sure to add toppings otherwise it looks dry … get it together Bartender 👍
I typically do not leave reviews, let alone bad ones. The reviews looked good so we decided to stop in. Our waiter, I didn't catch his name, acted as if he couldn't care less to be working. He was very short with us. We waited a long time to get our waters and even longer to even order. Our food was left essentially untouched. The quality wasn't there. It was overall just a disappointing experience.
Third time I’ve come here to try to get into the hype of the reviews. The service is absolutely atrocious. The food specifically anything to do with cheese or enchiladas taste like beef broth from the dollar store. The first time in my life that I’ve ever tipped somebody $.50 All my server did was sit in the back with his friends and talk. We didn’t get a single refill. We didn’t have any silverware ready for us. We had to get up and wave somebody down to give us silverware. You people are paying way too much for canned food.
I like the food and my wife thinks it's okay. Music is a little loud sometimes. Last couple of times we've ordered to-go there have been issues with the order. Tonight we ate in person and had a waiter who I it would be generous to assume they were inexperienced but they barely said a word which was weird. He didn't introduce himself. My wife asked for a water and was about to order a margarita and he interrupted her. Then after I got my drink she asked for a margarita. Then when he came back later he just stood staring at my wife without ever saying anything. We assumed this was our cue to order so we did and halfway through ordering he got out his notepad. After ordering the margarita never came even though it was a slow night. We both asked for no sour cream and when the food came it had sour cream on it. At that point after all the previous failings of Julio's we took our food to go and left. I've never given a $0 tip before. There used to be a couple good servers so I'm not sure why they've slipped so much.
