Amazing BBQ! We ordered there because we were wanting to try a new BBQ place and saw that they had curbside orders that made it easier for pick-up and safe for the pandemic times we're in right now, Andrew was an amazing help with our selection. Their BBQ beans are to die for as well as their potato salad! The brisket, sausage, and ribs were perfect and to top it off, the BBQ sauce was really good (plus they give you a lot!) I can't recommend this place enough and I'll continue ordering from them in the future!

Should be 5 stars. Been going here for a decade, but recently they changed the source of their catfish filets. Too thin and narrow now. Comes out severely overcooked and unedible. Will try again and report back.

The best tasting BBQ in town the sauce is cooked on. It's not barbecue if you smoke it and then pour the sauce on after. Then it is just smoked meat. You cannot find Better customer service. They go Above and beyond to satisfy the customer.

I drive thirty minutes just to go and eat my baked potato.(twice a month ) The service is friendly and professional. Hospitality is very important to me , and here they don’t lack it. I love eating my baked potato because it is prepare just the way I like it. I will keep coming back because they have not failed me so far.

Well I was surprised of how the bean teased like rodeo time. That dean’s season was on point something good about them beans. Enjoyed all the meats such attention to basic original taste! Best BBQ I've had in a long time!

I’ve eaten here only once, but had done a few deliveries. The employees here are so chill, and funny. Super kind and helpful, and these days that’s tough to come by in customer/food service. As a Texan, I’m used to spending a pretty penny on BBQ, yet it’s always worth it. Here is no different. Although I will say it’s priced reasonably due to its large portions. I’d highly recommend you trying their chopped beef baked potatoes!

Ordered through Uber eats today I must say the food was awesome but didn't get the chance to try the coleslaw or potato salad due to no eating utensils. Other wise the brisket was on point and so was the chicken.

While in Houston with family, an Uncle said if he was in Texas, he wanted good BBQ. While none of us live in Houston, we relied on Google to help us find a spot. We arrived at 8PM and knowing they closed at 9, we were prepared for average, day old BBQ with possible attitude for showing up so late. We were greeted with smiles, the place smelled amazing and there was plenty of good looking food. I ordered a baked potato with brisket when I asked what all was on it besides brisket, the reply was "butter, cheese, sour cream, chives and love". The portions were way more than expected for all of us. The food was delicious and there was 0 attitude. Thanks for providing a comfort meal for us during what you didn't know was a very difficult time for our family. I would absolutely recommend.

I have enjoyed their beef rib dinners for quite some time. And I understand that prices increase over time. But lately, the ribs have gotten alot smaller along with the higher price. I just purchased my last rib dinner from there. I don't see the value anymore. The burgers and brisket are still pretty good though

I have been enjoying Old Hickory Inn Barbecue for over 21 years. The service has been consistently amazing! The food continues to get better and better . Literally every entrée is so delicious and so very fulfilling! My favorite is the chopped baker, I have been enjoying this since I was a kid in middle school at Harmony Science Academy . It has never let me down . Always packed with tons of beef and so much flavor , but most importantly, cooked to perfection! The service here is unmatched. There is a sweet home and family atmosphere that is unmatched! Always so welcoming and so sweet . I love this place so much ! There is no better barbecue in the state of Texas! First off, no restaurant has everything perfect every time. Some folks just live to complain. I have been eating here several years multiple times per week. They have a wide variety of food on their menu. I have eaten every item on this menu, multiple times. This restaurant has a consistency in the food quality, customer service and cleanliness. You don't stay in business in the food industry for over sixty years if your product sucks. There have been times when something may not have been up to the usual standards, but unlike most other places, these folks are generally concerned about customer satisfaction. I have never received a negative response if politely voicing a concern with a particular item of question, in person. Going home and hiding behind a keyboard and bashing a business is childish. If you have a concern about something, share the concern in person politely. You can't fix what you don't know is broken. I will continue to dine at this establishment for years to come. The food quality is consistent, the staff is courteous and pleasant, the atmosphere is quiet and pleasant and the establishment is clean. Management genuinely cares. Not all people like the same things. If this restaurant is not your cup of tea then don't eat here. Don't be a keyboard pansy and go blasting a business because you aren't happy. You can't please everyone all the time. Life is too short to constantly do nothing but look for the negative and expect the world to cater to your every whim.

This BBQ place has been here for a long time & this was my first visit. I got the 2 meat sandwich with Chopped Beef w/sauce & Sausage & it was pretty good. Potato Salad & Beans were good but the fries were a little too limp so if you want extra crispy let them know. They have Pepsi products& Ice Tea for beverages. I believe they will be relocating soon so I’m looking forward to a fresh location.

I hadn’t eaten at this location for quite awhile, but I’m happy to say that their turkey stuffed baked potato is as delicious as I remember! I always get it in a ToGo container because there’s no way I can eat it all there. I usually ask for extra butter & cheese & add some of the condiments from the bar. The jalapeños today were thickly sliced but since I cut them up with the potato, it’s not a problem. I also added a sliced link sandwich & spicy BBQ beans for home. Yum!!

Hidden gem! Finally tried this place out. Turkey stuffed potato, meats, and sandwich were all excellent, comparable to the big name bbq place. Service was fast and friendly. Place is a bit outdated but clean. Will definitely return!

The food is very good. I eat the chicken, chicken baked potatoes, and sandwiches. I want to just make a small request, please put bbq sauce with the chicken items too, just adds more flavor. And it’s not known that the bbq sauce is not offered on the sides just in case. They also offer nice portions for whatever item you choose. Other than that the food is delicious. Great service. (Side note: The fries can use some salt.)

Fantastic! I only had a few minutes for lunch. The only wait was for the fries, which were perfect. The chopped beef sandwich was very good, too, even though it was a little saucier than I like but that's what napkins are for. Fortunately, their sauce is better than most BBQ joints - not too sweet. I doused everything with Tabasco.

There're beef brisket is delicious. Very tender. Goes great with an order of fries! The staff here is very nice. Only improvement would be diet coke availability.

Food is good. Hard to judge because I went there just before closing. Potato salad is awesome and beans have a pleasurable kick! Thing that saddens me is the fact that we can't tip on the credit card. I've been there multiple times and the customer service is outstanding. This is the era of the credit card and even if I have a $60 large order, I can not tip. I never have cash on hand. The staff is so friendly, they work really hard and knowing many friends that work in the restaurant industry, pay is low and people rely on tips. It upsets me that in this day and time, the management can't take that effort to cover the hard work of it's staff. It is also embarrasing to me as a consumer that I don't have a option to tip.It's a respect thing.Its a simple thing by calling the credit card company changing the machine. Little things like that make me not want to return. Other than that, you will have a great meal. The staff make it so.

I often order from this location when I don't want to travel to the Hwy 6 location (my favorite). Today I ordered the 2 meat plate with loose- cut brisket and ribs, with beans and potato salad. Great portion sizes. They also do custom cooking which I use for many different occasions.

Nice place with good Barbecue at a decent price. The staff we interacted with was awesome and very welcoming. As a place relatively close we would definitely be back. The food was the best in the nearby area if we want similar service with better cue we have to drive about 20-30 minutes. We can get better flavor but the staff here makes it worth skipping the other place and the fact that the prices are better pretty much guaranteed we'll not be going to the other place that's a little further out. As a realist I will be honest they aren't going to win a competition with their Barbecue but it is actually good, their potato salad is better than most in Houston they have a good menu of sides and if you ask me that is a good thing. What's better is they are consistent we've been places that the cue knocked our socks off and had comparable service but the next trip it wasn't as good. Old Hickory Inn stays consistent, so solid flavor good sides and close to home for a decent price I can't complain. Oh and 4 stars is it for Houston that is the top rating period. We have 5 star rated places but they are hundreds of miles away and extremely hard to find but they match on service and consistency with better flavor but, they are also expensive and expensive to travel to. I will take solid consistent flavor and great service close to home every day. If Google allowed us a more detailed rating I would give 5 stars for service, 4 stars for price and flavor but we can't so I'll base the rating on the flavor. However keep up the great work and awesome service.

I posted earlier about the cajun turkey I purchased but couldn't use. I was contacted and received an apology for my misfortune with my food. I appreciate that they took time to make things right with my order. Thank you for that service.

It was my first time being there. I bought a 1lb of sliced brisket and a pound of bbq ribs. Brisket was a bit dry and had some taste. The pork ribs dwere excellent. Customer service was awesome and I asked for bread, and they gave it to me for free. Potato salad is a bit salty but I think it's just me not liking too much salt. I hope in near future the brisket can be flavorful with some meat juice so it won't be so dry. I don't care how much I spend as long as brisket and ribs are cooked right. So sorry that I am very picky but I'm looking for a place where I can say, this food is the best and go each week. Please don't fail me next time. I live other side of beltway 8 and I don't care have to drive far. Ohh by the way, thank you for the 10% off.

The food here is okay. For something fast and easy it is fine. The food doesn't really stand out. It is pretty generic and basic. I had Brisket, BBQ beans, and potato salad. The brisket was ok It could defintely use some more flavor. The potato salad tastes like something I could buy at the store. The BBQ Beans were very disappointing. It tasted like canned chili. I couldn't finish it. It is definitely not BBQ beans. The bbq sauce left a weird aftertaste.

I pass this place every day going to and from work, finally stopped through here on a Thursday evening when my son's practice was canceled at the last minute. I got the leg quarter dinner with barbecue beans and potato salad with an additional side of fried okra, yams, two Caesar salads, as well as peach cobbler. I was greeted right away when I walked in. It was still early in the evening, had not gotten busy yet. Placed my order. My my host was very friendly and patient. As a Louisiana native, I have high expectations for food and this was just not it for barbecue for me. I ordered from the S. Braeswood location for curbside pickup. When I got there, the parking lot was full by the to-go order door. We called several times. calls went to voice mail. We decided to just go inside and get our order. After we got in the car, there were no eating utensils, no sides i.e., pickles, onions, no bbq sauce. I went inside to ask the cashier about it but she stayed on the phone and didn’t acknowledge me standing there for awhile, so I walked over to the inside pickup to ask another lady for the items and she gave them to me. Upon leaving the cashier that had been on the phone screamed out to her to let me go to the bar( to prepare the side items myself). I asked her why and she said for curbside orders you have to come inside and prepare your own onion, pickles,… etc to go. That makes no sense, if I’m ordering curbside and paid just as much money as a person that dines in, why do I have to get my order at my car, turn my motor off then go inside to prepare any additions. She was very very rude. I’ve been going to your location for over 15yrs and won’t be going again if that’s how customers are treated. I told her I wasn’t coming back and she said ‘fine I don’t care!’. Lost me and my families business just like that.

I’ve been coming here for years. They had on Board Riblet combo 2 sides + drink $ 11.50 I ordered she said only one side I pointed out to her. She was very rude so I ordered something else. I have noticed customer service has been a little lax when she’s here the guys are always Friendly and accommodating with issues like this. Thank You!

Potato was big. It tasted watery and bland. I was excited because it looked like a lot of meat on top. Bit into it, and there were thin layers of meat with wide pieces of fat. Meat had no seasoning. Pricey meal for inedible fat.

I had sliced brisket, sweet potatoes and beans for supper on a Monday night. Aside from the food that I didn't think was that good, a staff member walked within about 4 feet of our table and didn't say a word to the three of us. One of the three guys at our table agreed with me.

I've been there quite a few times for a quick bite and they always seem to be out of an item that I'm ordering. I ordered a fried Turkey from them this year for Thanksgiving. No one behind the counter could give me any details about the Turkey, but trustingly I ordered one anyway. It was way to spicy for me and my guests. Ruined our special dinner. If you are a worker and only have 30 minutes for lunch this is not the place to go as they are very slow to process orders. My experience today was no exception as I had to leave after placing an order because after 20 minutes of waiting I ran out of time. When I arrived they had no one at the counter taking orders, so there was a line, they processed a large family order and every order before and after mine but simply ignored mine to talk with the couple who placed the large family order until I had to leave. At the time I walked out the couple began taste testing their food at the service prep counter. The staff here are completely oblivious to the idea of the lunch rush. The fondly framed picture of the car that once crashed into their dining room so prominently mounted on the wall is an avid reminder that their primary customer base is retirees and things just operate at a different pace here. You should set your expectations accordingly, maybe bring a book. To me this modern art master piece serves as both a tribute to the customers and a warning to others, the warning being that one of them already tried to park their car in the dining room and you should probably keep one eye on the parking lot when placing an order as it could happen again. My experiences with this place over the years leads me to share with you how overwhelming mediocre I think it is, and that if was located outside of the braeswood food desert it would not survive. The beef brisket I find a bit soggy and lacking flavor, the sausage is generally good, the last time I tried the chicken it was dry and flavorless. The other sides are bland and the couple in front of me would want me to relay to you that they don't sell Mac-n-Cheese. The onion rings are good but the french fries are terrible, given they come prepared and straight from the freezer and are tossed into the fryer I don't know how that is even possible. If you get your order to go you will never make it home before everything is soggy because of the way it is packaged together and sealed in a paper bag which holds in all the moisture. In retrospect I don't know why I went here other than the convenience, but todays events have provided clarity and guidance that one reason is gone and I need not return.

We all know beef ribs aren't the cheapest... well I orded some to go but stayed there and dined in. DRY AND TOUGH! Whoever the pitmaster is should be ashamed. I wouldn't recommend unless it's just that convenient.

Ordered online. Got to the store and was told they had no order for me. I showed them I'd been charged for the order. The guy called his manager but I had to pay again at the store. He told me they would figure it out. They didn't, and I was charged twice. Have to dispute with my bank. Annoyed since I showed the bank statement and order information but for whatever technical reason it wasn't showing on his system.

I ordered a house salad with no tomatoes, no cucumbers, add cheese and chicken! They gave me a salad with no cheese and chicken wings and chicken qtrs! This by far is the worse order to mess up and then to charge me $15 just ridiculous I’ll never go here again or refer anyone

Went last week on the weekend and ordered a 1/2 pound of chopped beef to go.. we've been here lots of times and it's always good. Not this time. It wasn't late or anything.. and granted we usually get the brisket.. but this was bad. It was all fat, gristle, and sauce. I tried to eat one sandwich of it and we had to throw the rest of it, 24$, in the trash.
