I used to love this bar. They put wine in actual glasses and there is a great outdoor patio. I used to go all the time until 2003 when after 2 glasses I was entrapped by a two faced cop and got a guilty sentence from a jury for a DWI. Parking is tricky so it's best to uber. Love the place.

Whiskey lovers should be packing this place out every night, the selection is that good. It's not "Do you have any High West?". It's "What High West should I have today?". Fun atmosphere where you can meet others or keep to yourself over a pinball game.

The bartender was very attentive. They have happy hour everyday from 3-7 pm on $4 well drinks. They also have great prices on cocktails as well. Now my favorite shot is the one they offer here called the Up-down. A jagermeister with cold brew 🤤

Hey yall, best place to chill and talk with friends!! Unfortunately I lost my digital camera (Sony cyber shot) Feb 4th 2026 on a Wednesday. It took me two weeks to go back and ask the bartenders and no luck. So to whoever might’ve gotten that specific camera keep it idc. Immaculate atmosphere and fairly inexpensive drinks compared to other Montrose bars. I'm knocking off a star for two reasons. #1 the bartenders always seem angry at everyone just for existing. #2 I always just get beer here, but the few times I've ordered a mixed drink it has not been good. Poison Girl is responsible for easily the worst G&T I've ever had, I almost wanted to send it back it was so bad.

decided to give this place a try and i really liked the vibe! as soon as i entered, it felt like one of the bars in 6th street in Austin. not sure, maybe the layout and the decor. they have a patio at the back which is cozy however people smoke there too. their inside seating was pretty comfortable and the place got crowded real quick on a thursday night. they had cool games and photo booth, overall i think it's a chill spot!

Good vibes, lively music, and reasonably priced drinks. Super crowded on a Saturday evening as expected. No cover charge like most Houston bars these days. Mixed drinks were kinda meh… Long wait for the drinks and it seems like the bartenders can not work out a more organized way of serving customers. Random people who walk in are sometimes served before those who have been standing in “line” for a while. I think the bartenders were nice, but just unorganized which makes it frustrating for people who have to watch others get served first. Please work out a better system or something, and get better at mixing these drinks because waiting for 20 minutes to get a meh drink is a bit annoying.

Came here on a Thursday night, very slow staff. Even the bouncer is slow. Waited +20 minutes for a drink. Cool ambience though. Friendly people overall unlike the staff.

Atmosphere is awesome. Leaving 2 stars because the service is horrible lol I was never expecting top tier service but I was surprised at how irritable the workers were. When I visited bartenders were rude and moody with several customers, myself included. It’s weird that they take that approach when interacting with customers since they are in the service industry where tips matter. (Speaking as someone w bartending experience) anyway great to hang out and all that but yea they just need better service cus it’s bottom of the barrel service.

I absolutely love poison girl so so much but the bouncer checking IDs tonight was wearing a Donald Trump shirt and it honestly made me question if this is a safe space like I always felt it was before. :( I still love this place they’re usually really awesome and great atmosphere, it’s just that I will reconsider returning wondering if I will feel safe or comfortable enough. otherwise i’d rate this place a 4-5 star

I’ve always loved this bar and it’s become a usual hangout for me and my friends, however this last visit has made us feel discriminated against. We were initially told the bar was closing when the lights came on and we assumed the rest of the patrons would be told the same. The bar was mostly full at 2am and we were told “THE BAR IS CLOSED Y’ALL” in a hostile tone only to us. However, bars allow you to stay until 2:15am in the state of Texas and only we were being told to leave at 2:08. We were not loud or being a disruption. There was people at half of the bar still being allowed to stay and they even openly making comments about us as we were walking out. We found it unfair that only we were being kicked out even though the rest of the bar was still sitting and finishing their drinks without being told to leave. The bartender with the dyed curly frohawk was the one that told us to leave and was looking directly at us when she said it. I’m very disappointed in this service as it is a complete 180 from my past experiences :( . I hope they end up fixing how they treat their guest because it’s an extreme shame that we went through this experience tonight.

Came in here just to grab a quick drink tonight randomly but the bartender had an attitude and seemed to serve only the ppl who were not of color. Asked for id but never provided a menu and completely ignored me after. Terrible service, never again

Very off putting first and only experience at this bar. As a Houston local I was treated with aggression and vulgarity that is not normal for other bars or even “dive” bars in Houston. The bouncer raised his voice at me perhaps I took too long getting my id out. When my friend called him out he shouted for us to leave. Then I reached out and messaged the business privately with no response. Such a shame that they truly don’t care about the first impression of their establishment. Many better places in Houston, even Lola’s Depot has better service.

The service here is horrible. Of all the bars in Houston, quite frankly it was the WORST! The employe was also wearing a shirt that depicted the President of the United States shooting himself and she mentioned to our group that she thought suicide was okay if committed by a person she disagreed with. We are just here to get drinks, not a front-row seat to a bar tenders unhinged political theater. Keep your psychotic T-shirts and death wish commentary at home. This place is a hard pass. Hoping TABC will pay a visit very soon!!
