Amazing food, great service. The employees and manager have always greeted me and been very professional. My favorite is The steak hoagie and stromboli. I have not tried anything else but I'm sure it's all amazing as well!
Great food. Very reasonably priced. I will for sure be back.
I love the pizza here. The sauce is perfection. I had mushroom pizza and it was awesome. The pepperoni is great too. The staff here are extremely friendly. I highly recommend trying this pizza. It's very small inside, so I would plan to take it home.
Excellent pizza! Just the way we like it
Nice crispy crust with extra cold cheese sprinkled on top with pepperoni the cold or “raw” toppings the reviews mention bake in the box and if you don’t like that they’ll bake the toppings if you ask and you get to see how there cooking it. Good hoagies and strombolis as well
I always love their pizza, they cook their crust crunchy, just not doughy perfect. We love this place.
I am completely addicted to this place!!! The food, the customer service, the prices, the staff.....10 out of 10! As soon as you pull into Jimmy Z's parking lot this amazing smell of the best square pizza around! My boyfriend introduced me to this place and my first time walking in with him the kindest man (Andrew and his staff) greeted me as if I had been going there for years and we were friends! (Mind you it was my very first time ever stepping foot in this place) I can't believe I have never had their pizza before! It is delicious and I recommend this place to everyone I know now! Easiest 5 stars I've ever reviewed and well deserved! I am there almost every week now!!
I've been coming to the shop as long as I can remember, my dad is a big fan and passed that joy down to me! This is the only square pizza that I truly enjoy: the sauce is semi sweet with the right amount of seasonings and I love the crust. Their strombolis are to die for as well! The manager Drew does an excellent job and every pizza and stromboli that he's made for us has been perfectly amazing and he's amazing to boot! Definitely recommended this shop as one of the best in the area
Jimmy Z’s serves the best pizza / Stromboli’s on this side of Chartiers Creek. Probably both sides but I can only speak for the side I live on…😉 Can’t really describe the food that’s served and how good everything tastes, all I can say is…Try it! You won’t be disappointed. Jimmy and his whole staff make the dining experience even better. Great owner with great employees. 👍
My first time here yesterday evening. 4/18/19. I like discovering food places. I've known about this place for a very long time and for whatever reason I never stopped in. It's not like I live far away. I live in Washington, PA. It's not like I worked far away either. I've had a few jobs in Canonsburg area that spans over the last 18 years. I love pizza. Who doesn't? But with all this said.... I REGRET WAITING SO LONG!!! Now, listen carefully. Or, that is, comprehend what you read carefully. Lol. I have a few things to say about this pizza. It's almost visually similar and composed similarly to my favorite pizza of all-time. (Elm Gove location DiCarlo's Pizza. Now called "Patsy's Pizza") That was my first impression. I had mixed feelings about that, though. I really love this (Jimmy Z's) pizza, though. Let me make that clear, before I continue. As fun(?) as the location is, it's a pain in the butt. Sorta like the new DiCarlo's on Jefferson Ave in Washington. Terrible location. This isn't nearly as bad as that, though. First thing I noticed when I got there was the incoming and outgoing people of this place, which, btw...... *has a hidden parking lot behind the building*. Don't let the location scare you on not knowing where or how you can park anywhere. Jimmy Z's needs more notoriety, in my opinion. Great pizza AND great service. The employees helped my father and I a great deal. Okay, more about the pizza. Lol. Sorry for so many details. Hot pizza then cold pizza. I'm not typically a crust kinda guy. I hate oversized, hard crusts. It's like, where's the pizza? Well, this crust was my favorite part of the pizza. It had a thin outside crunch with a middle chewy center. It was perfect. It wasn't overly floury and dry too. It was perfect, like I said. And I mean PERFECT!! I think the cheese was no-fat or something. It didn't melt right on-top of the hot pizza like it should have. Like I said above about my favorite pizza... i know how cheese reacts based on heat. The sauce was good. Just good. It was missing something, though, in order to be great. A hint of flavor. Just a pinch of flavor. So glad it wasn't chunky, though. That's why I hate Sam's Pizza in Canonsburg. COLD............. I had leftovers in the fridge on purpose to see how it tasted cold. *This pizza is amongst the best I ever had as cold* Very, very small menu, but that's ok. Why do you need so many items if your expertise is one particular thing, right? ***I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!!***
Pizza was good. They put the cheese and pepperoni on after taking it out of the oven, which was different but it still tasted good. We ordered “cheese bread” as well and it WAS NOT the cheese bread I was expecting. I was so excited for it…but it was flavorless “Bosco Sticks” that you can buy at Walmart 12 for $4.94. We paid $8.15 for 4 breadsticks. $8.15 FOR 4!!! If you’re gonna have cheese bread, at least make it yourself. How hard is it to throw some cheese and seasonings on your dough and bake it? It was almost $50 for a sandwich, a medium pizza with pepperoni on half and mushrooms on the other half, and 4 breadsticks, which was a little outrageous as well. Will come back for the pizza and maybe the sandwich again, but I’m upset about the cheese bread. :(
We ordered here for the first time for a fundraiser and although the ordering process and customer service were fine, the pizza was not. We ordered a Sicilian with Pepperoni. The crust was thin and crispy instead of the usual thick crust. There was so much sauce that it was flopping off of the pieces as you picked it up. There was very little mozzarella cheese and what was on there was not melted. It looked like it wasn't cooked enough. It was very disappointing. Our kids hated it and they NEVER hate pizza. It's their favorite food group! 😉
Pizza is awesome. Good sauce, generous toppings, crisp crust. Hoagies suck. Had an Italian, probably half a jar of mild peppers on it☹️ hardly any lettuce or tomatoes and the bun was soft when I ordered well done.
Jimmy Zs is another one of the few local Pittsburgh square slice joints. They follow along the trend of having some warm, and some cold, cheese just like Betos and Pizza House in Ambridge. The Pizza dough was a bit under cooked below the sauce and toppings when I sampled mine. However, the crust was crunchy, and almost hard like a pretzel in some places. It has a basic high school cafeteria pizza crust type of taste..... almost like a “Jiffy” pizza crust taste. It’s not bad by any means, but it’s nothing phenomenal either. The sauce is fairly basic, but has a thicker tomato feel to it. Not overly salty or garlicky. The cheese is a basic commercial shredded mozzarella. It didn’t have any real distinguishing features that set it apart from your average pizza joint. The toppings I sampled were pepperoni and mushroom. The mushroom was obviously canned and was cold on top of the slices. The pepperoni was your average deli style and of lower quality. The pizza is sold by the slice, which is nice if you just need to feed just yourself, or have a few people who want different toppings. Overall I wasn’t terribly impressed by Jimmy Zs. I can’t say that it was the worst pizza I’ve ever had. It’s just good at being average, cheap pizza. The place seems to be manned by one supervising adult and multiple High School age looking cooks. Would recommend calling ahead for slices unless you have time to wait. I was told 25 minutes for five slices, and arrived on time but still sat for another 10.
This pizza is terrible. I ordered a small pizza with pepperoni and peppers. He pulled it out of the oven as I got there. It had just sauce and peppers in it. Then he proceeded to put the pepperoni on as well as the xheese....put it in the box and gave it to me. First time here so I tried it. Terrible sauce......cold pizza.....extremely hard crust. .... Will NOT BE GOING BACK.
Horrible service pizza is cold I know that’s how they do it but service sucks and requests
As some may know, Jimmy Z’s is a spin-off of Sam's Pizza (started more than 40 years ago by a great man …Sam). Well, this past year, the wheels have fallen off and Sam would be rolling over in his grave. I’ve been going here literally for years. I keep giving them a chance to get back to basics, but I’m done. The last 4 out of 4 times that I’ve gone there, their pizza has been horrible! The cheese and toppings are served cold and most recently the sauce was even cold…and the crust was as tough as leather. I don’t know what happened. But I’m never going back.
I tried to call in twice to have them correct the issue and just did not get an answer so I am posting the review here so hopefully the owner sees this. Very unprofessional product going out the door. The box was covered in cheese and sauce and it appeared like someone just threw everything in the box. Very unhappy.
