It’s what you expect an old world Italian joint to be. Very friendly, prompt, and attentive service. All the menu suggestions were spot on. The burrata and minestrone soup were very fresh and well made, the ravioli was firm and flavorful, and the risotto with scallops was perfectly plated, and rich with flavor. It’s a neighborhood favorite and well worth your time.
The food was delicious! I came here to get the carbs in for the marathon and I'm glad i did. Beautiful place amazing food. I had the Spaghetti Napoletana and like i said delicious 😋.
Cucina Alessa on Main St in Huntington Beach has always been a locals' favorite for delicious Italian cuisine. The Bella Meatballs and Lasagna Napoletana are just some of our favorites. Excellent wine selection and decadent desserts. The entire staff are always exceptionally professional.
Old school restaurant that serves amazing pasta. The pappardelle is probably the best dish to get. The zucca is a great appetizer along with the burrato salad.
Thank you so much to Alphonse, Jesus and the chef for a delightful family experience. We absolutely loved all of our dishes and service. The service was amazingly fast and attentive. The dishes did not disappoint and were incredible and cooked to perfection! Livornese,Shrimp Fusuli and Chicken Marsala. The Tiramisu was delicious too!
Incredible birthday dinner with delicious food, outstanding service and a lively atmosphere. We caught up with a friend and the restaurant let us stay while they closed the place down which was so thoughtful of them. We tried the butternut squash ravioli which was amazing and two of the seafood pastas which were truly outstanding. Make sure you stop by if you are in the mood for a great night of delicious Italian food!
2 of us went for dinner. we had a dog with us so we were seated outside. The service was prompt and old school - meaning exceptional . the food was good. reminded us of Sapori in Newport Beach
We read a lot of the reviews and we were happy to get very kind customer service. The meal was amazing! Just as we read on the reviews. Oh and the green dipping pesto sauce was the best we have had! The calamari and shrip w the zucchini was soooo very yummy!
The foods and desserts were so good!👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
Great environment, good service, tasty eats. Reservations and dietary substitutes available (vegan and vegetarian friendly). My significant other and I went here to celebrate our first anniversary. He is a regular and I'm new to the place, but the servers were very understanding and kind. Tables are available in the main floor, second floor, and sidewalk patio. There's also a bar on both floors. The dining area is clean and quaint, dimly lit and well ventilated. Dining here comes with bread sticks and olive oil dip. Water is free, iced and clean. We ordered Calamari Fritti (light and crispy fried squid with a garlicky tomato sauce on the side). I had the Gnocchi Alla Sorrentina, thick potato pasta and fresh mozzarella in a thick marinara sauce (pomodoro), and my partner had the Rigatoni Toscana, featuring chicken and sun dried tomatoes in an earthy mushroom porcini cream sauce. We also had a glass of strawberry lemonade on the side. Portions are good and the food is well seasoned. There are meat and dairy substitutes available on the menu, ask your waiter/waitress for availability. The calamari was very nice, fried beautifully and light in taste, paired with a fragrant garlic tomato sauce. Though the sauce was delicious, we were expecting something more similar akin to cocktail sauce. The squid is nice and springy. I would recommend giving it a try. This was also my first time trying gnocchi and I have no regrets. I nearly finished my plate enjoying the plump chewy pasta, though the cheese was my favorite part as they were soft and semi molten from the heat. The gnocchi is a very simple and cozy homestyle dish, wish I can have more in the convenience of my home. (Maybe I'll learn how to make it myself.) Both of us were looking forward to the rigatoni because it's one of the reasons we came to celebrate our special day at this restaurant. We love sun dried tomatoes and mushrooms, but I'm also glad I didn't order the same dish he did. Though it's cooked beautifully and he had little to no issue with what he ordered, I will say that the pasta is tougher than I would prefer. The chicken is flavorful, but the earthy aroma was very overpowering. Both of us also wished there were more sun dried tomatoes in the dish so that the flavors could be balanced. (We counted three in the plate.) Honorable mention goes to the strawberry lemonade. It's refreshing, sweet and tart. Pairs nicely with the savory dishes available here. Although there's no drinks menu, our waiter said that they have all kinds of drinks, soda, tea, coffee, wine, beer, etc. Just ask for what they have or what you're looking for. Would I come back? Definitely, especially on special occasions such as this. The prices are alright but a tad expensive for my taste. It definitely pays for the experience, though. Cucina Alessa gets very busy in the evenings, especially during weekends, so reservations are recommended. Parking is not available, so you'd have to park around the block.
Our favorite place to go in the OC. We got the special for the day and they did not disappoint. The waiter during lunch time gave us great service. Recommended different wine options that complimented the dishes we selected. Their table bread is soooopo good!!!! Ask for 2nds! Love this place ❤️
Cozy atmosphere, great food, and the highest attention to detail. A local favorite. There is a Newport Beach location as well. I've been multiple times, and I am always happy with the experience.
With the party of 4 we were able to make a 6:30 reservation mid day on a very busy HNTB Air show evening. The pastes were great ( We had linguine pescatora (it was a bit over cooked) and spinach ravioli) and nice Lohr chardonnay. It costs $5 more for fresh pasta. The service was nice. While the setup and ambience was nice, with a full restaurant it was a bit too loud inside.
5 star for a few reasons: Place was clean, organized, and classy. I enjoyed the fact that there are two floors, and each have their own bar. It's slightly quieter upstairs, for a more intimate experience. Very well put together, laid out, and planned. Staff was on point. Hostess and manager greeted me at the door, the manager suggested to the waitress to give a table upstairs, and I'm glad he did. My waitress was nice, she made some recommendations, and was happy and smiling the whole time, eager to help me and answer questions. Not once did she forget about me. I kept getting my plates cleared as soon as I finished them, almost as if they were keeping a close eye on me, waiting for me to finish. I thoroughly enjoyed that part. They were nice, and not overly talkative. The food came out fast too. The food was ohhh la la! So I ordered the Heirloom Burrata for the appetizer. It was my first time trying burrata, it was definitely a new experience, a good one though, I enjoyed the cheese. It has a very soft texture, almost milky like, creamy, and melted but it was cool (temperature). Definitely will be order Burrata again in the future. I went with their Lasagna Napoletana, and I'm glad I did because it was OMG! No seriously, this lasagna was absolutely delicious, it was freshly made, cheese was melting and stringy. The sauce was just right, and the mini-meatballs were the perfect size, but lacked a flavor punch! I would go back to this place, just to have the lasagna once again. The complimentary bread and pesto was good too, the bread was warm and soft. I cannot complain about the food at all, and I'm hoping to visit again and try their pizza next time around. I definitely recommend this place for good tasting Italian food, and a great overall experience here. Thank you!
BEST FOOD IN LA. Omg: the ingredients are so delicious and fresh!!! Sangria: 100/10 Pasta Polpette 10/10 Pasta Alfredo/shrimp: 10/10 ($12 for 4 shrimp tho) Service 10/10 (Louis) Definitely a score! So sad we are just visiting LA for a couple of days but you should definitely come!!
If you're looking for authentic Italian pasta dishes, pizza, or salads, in Huntington Beach, then Cucina Alessa is a must-visit restaurant. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a warm and inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that your dining experience is nothing short of exceptional. Their daily specials are something to look forward to, and if you're lucky enough to catch them when they have the pork chops, be sure to order them. They're incredibly tender and flavorful, cooked to perfection with a marsala wine sauce and cooked to perfection. One thing to keep in mind is that if you're looking for a quieter dining experience, it's best to sit upstairs as the downstairs area can get a bit loud. However, both areas have a great ambiance that's perfect for a date night or a meal with friends and family. Overall, Cucina Alessa is a top-notch Italian restaurant in Huntington Beach.

We ordered takeout for the butter cake (best dessert ever!!) but when we got there, they said they had ran out. Fortunately, Louis was gracious enough to offer us dessert on the house since we had made the drive out to the restaurant. Such yummy food and even better service!
For my gf and I, this is our go to spot for Italian. Used to go to their Newport Beach location off PCH but it closed for some reason so we just started coming here. We always get the same items and it never fails. Carpaccio to start, butternut squash ravioli for mains with a side salad, crème brûlée for dessert. All with a nice red wine.

Great good, service, ok ambiance, a little out of the way from main downtown area.

Food was great as was the service. My wife and shared the chicken saltimbocca, a salad and a bottle of wine…all of which were great. The decor seems a bit dated, but it’s ok.
Yes, we were tourists to the area but you definitely were made to feel a tourist vs a local in this restaurant. That was a bummer because the food was good. I just bummed that our experience was lesser than other tables who you could tell were more welcomed into the restaurant than obviously an outsider. Last time I checked my money was just as green as the locals. Hopefully, someone else's experience was a little more welcoming than ours. But... the food was good.
Staff was very friendly but I don’t think I’ve ever had worse lobster ravioli in my life. It was like buying the cheapest one in the frozen foods section of the grocery store. I’ve never left a food review before but it was that bad. If it hadn’t been busy and I didn’t work in the industry I would have gone back in and said something. 10/10I definitely don’t recommend this meal at least
