Fantastic food. My picky teenager claimed it was the best burger he’s ever had. Sweet potato fries were delicious and worth getting if you like those. They have a covered outdoor space and a few tables and a bar inside. I’ll be back to try the corn nuggets.

It's been about 7 years since I been here but looking forward to going aiding sometime soon. Food was great, friendly service, and nice little cozy set up. I had taken my boys out to the snow in Idyllwild and it was already dark we were looking for a place to eat and came across this gem. Every time my son's talk about this place they always refer to it as the place with the great steaks and delicious hot cocoa. Also if I'm remembering correctly , they have a delicious Adios with a nice kick 😎.

Such a cute little place with the best sandwich I've ever had. Ordered the Club Sandwich and it was stacked so high I could barely get it in my mouth. The bacon is cooked perfectly: crispy, and not all flacid and under cooked like most places cook their bacon for their sandwiches. This place is one of those little restaurants that is so good you will plan road trips just to visit here.

Wow, great burger menu! We stopped by after a hike. Nice bar. Nice indoor and outdoor seating. Great service. The guacamole, salsa & chips appetizer was tasty, and all the burgers we had were killer, cooked to order. All the sides were excellent as well. Sleepy town, good eats!

Possibly one of The best burgers anywhere. The Lumber Mill is similar to any small mountain town bar and grill. Parking is scarce and food and beer selections are typical, except for their vast selection of burgers. They have any kind of burger you could possibly want the crown jewel being the pricy $17 super cheesy burger with fried oxacana cheese, avacado, jalapenos, bacon, lettuce, tomato, 2 pattys, and more melty beautiful cheese. The trip to Idyllwild-Pine Cove is worth it for this burger alone. It is a very big burger, not for small appetites.

Great food, great service and great atmosphere. Was here again a month ago with family. The food is executed very well. The fried dishes are crisp and flavorful. Fish and chips are solid! I definitely recommend this spot to anyone visiting Idyllwild. They even have Karaoke on the weekends if you want to make it a night out. Keep it up folks!

My favorite place in town or anywhere if I want a burger. The Big Foot is the absolute best - 1lb of beef, bacon, quac, it is gigantic and tasty! And love they have a full bar so wash it down with a Jameson, doesn't get better than that! If you're visiting this beautiful town, give it a try!

My husband and I have been coming here for many years, and the food and environment has always been wonderful. We have never ordered anything off the menu that wasn't outstanding. We have done a lot of traveling the last four years and we have been unable to find comparable food quality anywhere. I say this a whole for the restaurant community of Idyllwild, they are many steps above. Thank you for a pleasant dining experience always and wonderful spirits (drink and people).

Had a great late lunch here and can’t wait to come back. We had six people at our table. Every dish was very well liked. The hamburger patty is in the top 1% of hamburger patties. Potato salad and chili were great, as were coconut shrimp and fish tacos. Cocktails, tea, and fountain drinks were great too. Will be back. We sat on the dog friendly patio.

Cob salad was delicious and the poke chip was a little sad. It look like an ahi tuna steak used for a burger but instead chopped up. The sauce was congealed and not great.

The BLTA on sourdough with a side of sweet potato fries was amazing. Everything about the Lumber Mill was excellent. The prices were good, the service excellent, and the food top notch. We also had the Wild Western burger with a side of onion rings and it was equally good. The iced tea was fresh and a great strength. We were so happy, we tipped the chef as well as the waiter. Loved it!

I've been to Idllwyld several times but had never stopped at the Lumber Mill before. I didn't know what I was missing! I had a pastrami sandwich and it was fantastic! It only took a couple minutes to arrive after I had ordered it. The service is very good although there isn't a lot of seating (probably 7 or 8 tables plus 6 or 7 stools at the bar) the atmosphere is comfortable with the way you would expect a mountain town diner to look and feel.

The Lumber Mill is a nice, easy going restaurant with tons of good food and friendly people. With a large menu of food and drinks, this place has something for everyone. One of my favorite burritos ever is their California burrito. All their burritos are good but that one's my favorite. Their burgers are also massive and delicious, with enough fries to make a very hearty meal. Good apps, good vegetarian options, and they offer a few kinds of dessert which is awesome. My family loves coming here thankfully because I can't go long without my burrito!

First time visiting Idyllwild! We just checked into our place and explored the cute town, but most of the restaurants were closed. The only one open was The Lumber Mill Bar & Grill. It was busy, so we patiently waited for a table. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and a great selection of meals to try! We ordered the ribeye steak with Caesar salad and mashed potatoes, plus a crumbled cheese appetizer, it was worth it! Since our place doesn’t have a refrigerator or microwave, we had to finish everything. It turned into a romantic outdoor dinner with delicious food and such friendly staff. Definitely worth it for a good dinner in Idyllwild.

The atmosphere was ok, a bit tight inside as you walk in, they provide inside or outside eating. You sit yourself if available or wait to be seated if busy. They have a bar. Ones we ordered our food, it didn't took long to be served. I got the Idy Burrito and my boo got The Ortega Burger, they were both delicious. I have nvr had a burrito that flavorful and moist. The red sauce is spicy but gooood, it also comes with a side of cabbage and pico de gallo, really good. The burger was juicy and very filling, I will definitely come back and will definitely recommend to stop by. 👍 👍

Great place to eat hearty food in a relaxed setting. I had their chili. I loved it, it was chunky, spicy, and flavorful. The service was great. It's right on the main road leading in and out of town so easy to spot from the road. Parking can be a bit of a challenge when it's busy.

Food surpassed my expectations. Stopped in on a weekday for lunch. We had not planned on going here but it looked nice from the street. The menu had a good variety. The burger was excellent, better than some establishments elsewhere in California and the Tuna melt was also very good - the bread was toasted perfectly. Our server was new and did an okay job at taking our orders and checking up on us but we had to get up and go to the bar area to get our bill and pay as nobody came to give it to us.

Excellent play to eat at. First time here in idyllwild and stopped at the Lumber Mill for some lunch with the family. Super friendly staff and the meals were all prepared very well. The French Dip is a super delicious sandwich that has a awesome dipping sauce I have NEVER had before. I highly recommend sharing this menu item with your loved one or friend, unless you have a big appetite and take this sandwich on your own. The rest of the meals my family loved, especially the fries. Really good spot to spot by at get some great food.

We had an awesome lunch here, but be warned, there is a reason they bring you lots of napkins! I ordered the Chad burger. It was huge and delicious, but too big for my mouth. I really liked the Ortega chili breaded and stuffed with cheese that came on the burger. The fries that I chose for the side were perfect; nicely seasoned, just a bit crispy. My friend ordered the tuna melt with beans. He cleaned his plate, which is rare. When we ordered a Singapore sling, they didn't know what went in it, but they looked it up and put it together in a jiffy. We will definitely be back.

Food was very good and process were not bad. Service was fine once they took our order. My blue cheese burger was cooked just right and delish. The wings had a nice spicy bite to them. Others at my table liked their food as well. The onion rings were very good but not the best I've had. I give it a thumbs up.

Great friendly service! The chili needs work, but the Bacon lover's burger is amazing! We asked if they had Coke products which they did offer by the bottle but if I'd been informed that they served Pepsi on tap. I don't know if that means I could have free refills on Pepsi but have to pay by the bottle with Coke. It's just an observation so, big picture it doesn't matter. I'd definitely eat there again!

The salmon was very good. The burger wasn't cooked all the way through and did not have the avocado on it that I ordered. The waitress was nice. The atmosphere was very casual.

This place is open till 10, even on Sunday (hours appear to be listed correctly, unlike The Peak). The food was great, burgers were excellent, chili was excellent. Mozzarella sticks, boneless wings and nuggets were regular. The service was outstanding and we honestly can't wait to come back.

Getting up here was a drive with a land slide and one way traffic. Finally, made it to Lumber Mill Bar&Grill. I ordered a Coke and came back with a fast service. Next took a gander at the burgers menu and have to skip The Big Foot and The Paul Bunyan and settle down with Chili burger for my lunch. I have to said, It was a full size meal with a big portion. overall, I have to said that Lumber Mill Bar & Grill mean business they don't play.

The food was good and the servers were very nice, but somebody made an error because we literally waited an hour for a food even though when we arrived, it was not busy. Other customers got their food way before us that came after. We complained and they took 20% off the bill, but I felt they should’ve taken much more off. When I asked to speak to a manager the server said they were 15 minutes away and took responsibility.

Stopped in for a late lunch. Conversation was great. I only had a burger, fries and a coke. It was nothing to write home about. Personally thought it could have used a little more flavor for the price they charged.

Friendly staff. We had a good lunch here. They have some really large burgers on the menu, if that is your thing. They also had some fresh baked goods and we liked the corn nugget appetizer.

Girlfriend and I each ordered a steak, med rare. Can't remember if it was a Ribeye or a New York steak. One was ok the other was too well done and chewy. Neither was impressive, especially for the price.

This place was horrible! No greet, took forever to sit order and eat. Place was not packed at all, yet they still forgot what table our food went too. The only reason they got a tip is they incorporated it in the bill. I would of deducted it but my wife said not too.

We had horrible service. We were told the kitchen closes in 30 mins, the host Tanya told us we can take a sit and we were ready to order knowing we only had 30 mins. The problem was that she never went to our table to even ask if we wanted drinks. We were waiting for 15 mins to get her attention but instead she was talking to person in a booth and showing pictures on her phone and to top it off went outside to smoke. My boyfriend was so annoyed and we decided to leave. Very unprofessional.

Never been treated ruder at a place. Stood waiting for a few minutes asking the locals if I seat myself or not when someone from the kitchen finally got the server who was filling ketchup bottles to do her job. Then local firefighters came in a bit after me and I was a complete afterthought. The guys said stuff to her to get her to help me out. Then she still gave me the worst service but filled it with sweetheart and obnoxious stuff obviously to get the tip. Never checked on me, served the guys several times before me, and again they got there way after I did. I think she was just a tourist hater but all I can do is give a bad review. This was July 31st at like 630ish. The burgers were decent though!

Me my brother and my boyfriend went in realized certain workers seemed racist then told them pls cancel our order and we were leaving after one worker told a bunch of white men to watch us. We go outside and my brother is put in a chock hold and we’re all fighting for our lives trying not to get beat up by 13+ racist men. I’m a female and got punched in my nose twice by two different “men” while being held back by at least 3 others. This business is racist and provokes violence. All we wanted was fries from this place and left feeling so uncomfortable and bleeding from multiple guys all because of one racist staff member.

I come here about 4 times a year for special occasions and I was very disappointed with the food and service provided by a waitress with short hair yesterday. I’ve never seen her in the past but the odd way of her charging our card and holding on to it after we told her we would dine in instead of taking out kind of gave it away that she was new. I waited for a while to get the card and the receipt back since she had charged us already and she just kept telling me I can go sit down. I asked her politely if she still had the card and she said yes, but didn’t give it to me and began to fill up our drinks instead. After she filled up our 3 drinks she set them on a random table inside along with the receipt and card. That was very rude since I had just told her we were eating outside. I had to call my husband and brother to come help with their drinks. We ended up eating inside since we thought maybe the waitress got mad. She brought us our food and made a comment to me about knowing or guessing which burger was mine and she left us two almost empty bottles of ketchup. The burger patty was so over done, dry, super lumpy and tasted bad. The burger had some thin flappy burnt bits of unidentified stuff on the cheese, lettuce and patty. The pickle looked like it was old or from another plate and had some avocado and sauce on it which was not a part of my dish. After 3 bites of the burger, eating half of the fries and some ranch my lips and inside of my mouth began to burn! It wasn’t caused by the food being spicy or having spices, it was like a chemical burn. I got an allergic reaction as well and rushed to the car to get an allergy pill. Taking my allergy pill usually works but it barely helped this time. I always get the same thing and I never get an allergy. This is definitely different though since my stomach/ throat is still hurting/burning today and my lips and mouth feel like they got burned. I have red marks on my lips since yesterday. I will be taking a toxicology test as soon as possible.

We sat there for 20 minutes and the server never approached once. There were only two other people in the whole place. Don’t waste your time for crappy service and a dirty place

Two of us tried to get a drink at the bar. Not crowded at all. We were clean, well groomed, and quiet. The first staff to come by said they'd be back in a while. Five minutes later another staff entered the bar area, glared at us and walked away without a word. If the lumber mill bar and grill doesn't want to serve adult beverages, maybe they should change their name. Don't bother going in there, it's a waste of your time to be treated rudely and not served.

Went with my wife to grab a bite, I ordered a burger and she got the lightly breaded chicken sandwich. Her chicken was so fibrous and dense it was almost inedible, I've never tried chicken like that in my life. It was like biting into a rubber eraser, not exaggerating. We called the waiter, who called a guy who I assume is the manager. My wife mentioned the issue, he took her food and went away after she mentioned she didn't want it changed. Then came back with the usual check tray where you leave your credit card with a new ticket with a 50% discount on her meal. Man, that sandwitch was INEDIBLE, how do you even dare to charge anything for it? We then waited for a while, about 5-10 minutes. He never returned to the table to pick up the tray. We ended up picking up our stuff and taking the tray to the front with us. We mentioned that we wanted a full write-off of the chicken sandwich, not half. He, seemingly begrudgingly or like he hasn't cared about his job for a while, did give us the full price write-off so, so at least we got that, but the whole situation was so poorly/awkwardly managed and the fact that a chicken that bad would even leave the kitchen is beyond me. Burger was fine though, got the one with blue cheese, solid 7/10. Burger patty slid from the bun too much (and I even asked for it without the dressing) so it was messy, but tasted good.
