I came in today and had the spicy chicken romano with no artichoke, and it was delicious. Our waitress Verina was very sweet and helped us decide what to eat. She was fast and made sure we had everything we needed. Overall, a great experience and would love to come by and see Verina again!

We had our Valentine's Day dinner yesterday at Johnny Carino's and it was wonderful night. We've always enjoyed our visits to Johnny's Carino's but yesterday was the best time. Even though the restaurant was packed, the staff had a smile and the restaurant energy was electric. The food was served hot and delicious. Thank you Johnny Carino's for making our Valentine's 2024 memorable!!!

We stopped by Carinos for the first time since the pandemic today and were not disappointed. Our server, Jessy, did an amazing job. I ordered steak and he noticed that it was not properly cooked and pointed it out to me. He made sure our food was good. He was super attentive and took good care of us. I've eaten here 3 times in the last 4 months now. They always give me excellent service. The hostesses and servers are always extremely nice and professional. The shrimp scampi and their specialty pizzas and bread with oil are to die for. Definitely a step above olive garden. Will keep coming back!

Continues to be one of my fav Italian places in the valley. It might be a lil expensive to some, but the plates are huge portions (more than you can eat) and always good. I love having the leftovers for the next day so I always feel like I’m getting my moneys worth. I like that they have an open kitchen, so you know that they’re actually cooking your food after you order it. Service is always great too. I am always satisfied with the whole experience when I go there.

Vivi and the ream this Saturday night did fantastic. Everyone was amicable and the portions of food were more than enough for the entire family.

1st time coming to Johnny Carino's and ill tell you I was very impressed with not only the food but the service was exceptional! Josie was friendly and attentive. So attentive in fact she was offering drink refills, additional salad, soup and bread before anyone even had the opportunity to even ask. My coworkers and I went the for lunch and we were in and out with time to spare. I will definitely add Johnny Carino's to the top of my list when it comes to dining in the Imperial Valley. Friday at 4. Not very busy. Sat at bar. Service very slow. It appeared bartenders had other duties that resulted in my seeing slowest service ever. I'm not a regular but over several years come for an afternoon drink and food.

The food was definitely good quality Italian with a touch of southwest flair. Our server was upbeat, attentive and friendly. Our stuffed mushroom appetizer was fantastic and different than regular stuffed mushroom apps! We both had the eggplant parmesan and we were a little disappointed. The eggplant was cut very thin, therefore it was mostly the breading and it was a little overdone.

I really enjoyed my experience at Carino's. The food is good and the complimentary bread with olive oil is generous and freshly baked is delicious and generous. The ambiance reminded me of the kind of genuine Italian restaurant of New York. I half expected to see Joe Pesci and Good Fellas walk in at any time. I jokingly checked the bottom of the table for microphones😂 The 40s and 50s music just added to the ilusion of yesteryear. So different than Olive Garden across the street.

Overall service was good. It was late on a weekday so not very busy. The food was delicious best lasagna I've and had. very hot as it should be. I stress that because at another popular restaurant I've had my food served a few times not being hot enough. The only issue was. I had a hard time reading the menu. I guess the dimmed lighting makes it look cozy but lighting is too dimmed and makes it hard the menu. I also found the table top to be very sticky. I think its from the varnish and not that it was dirty but still found that a bit uncomfortable. Definitely recommend for good food and service.

The environment was good the hostess was nice. And tell the manager of the hostess return not speaking nicely towards her or the attitude that she showed in front of us when we were arriving.. The waitress was a sweetheart food was great look forward to coming back hopefully with better attitude from the managers to employees in front of guests.

Mama's Spaghetti was very good, really generous portions and a comfortable atmosphere. Lunch was a bit pricey, but very good food. Restaurant was clean and tidy, service was quite slow at lunchtime, I only saw 2 servers while dining in. Overall good experience.

This restaurant is fairly good. They have really good specials that make for a great dinner at a very reasonable price. They run one special that has an appetizer, salad, steak and pasta for under $20. My main complaint is not having salt, pepper, sugar etc on the tables. Get that stuff on the tables like everywhere else. The service can also be good or slow. More attention to the tables is needed. Refill those beverages more. Patrons should never need to get up and find someone for a refill. Other than those issues this place will give you a decent meal at a decent price. Update: 06-10-23 I ordered the special advertised in an email. It was Italian Nachos, Ribeye Steak and Fettuccine Alfredo for $12.99. The food was delicious and really you can't beat that price. Food was amazing. Environment is great. This rating is based solely on the server who rushed through every step of the process. She was friendly and did her job, but not to the standards I believe most people expect at a restaurant like this one. My guess is a few people didn't show up to work or the manager understaffed for the night. You should still eat here! Delicious food!

You can tell this place has gone deteriorating, the seats are getting worse, very uncomfortable. The crew does not care to clean tables afterwards it looks very bad, I believe that a little more effort like pulling those tables and cleaning underneath would be better. Need to put more attention on the cleaning and the service.

Had a Groupon so thought we’d give it a try. We chose the spicy Romano chicken. Way, way to spicy and that was the only flavor you could taste. The fish had no other flavor other than tasting the spice. The person at the front was very friendly but the manager seemed annoyed I had a Groupon and scrutinized my Groupon very carefully. Would be very upset if I would have paid full price as we could barely take a few bites in between drinking water to control all the spice.

10 of us arrived for a family get together. Our server was very inexperienced but tried to be helpful. Once we ordered and started to receive our meals, we had to ask for missing items (salad dressing, bread, butter, etc). The penne pasta with meat sauce was so overcooked, it broke into pieces when you tried to pick it up then was like mush in your mouth. The lasagna was decent. The hamburger and fries arrived lukewarm and the grilled chicken, supposedly hot off the grill wasn't. For many of us, it was our 1st time here. We certainly wouldn't recommend it.

After covid, like most places, customer service has gone down. We visited in February 2023, walked in and it was mostly empty. The host never smiled, walked us to our table sat us and left. No greetings, just sat us at the table and turned. We didn't get any service or acknowledgement for about 5 minutes. Finally, someone asked about our drinks. As reference, we were the only couple on the right wing, one family in the center and three groups of 2-3 people in the bar area. Food was okay.

This place was a fancy and a nice restaurant in the valley. I have gone recently and the food is not good anymore, The Marinara sauce tastes bad, it has a strong flavor and the quality of the food is not good anymore, ordered chicken parmesan it was dried and little burnt on the edges.

We were supposed to get the separate room for my friends throwing me a Birthday Party. The separate room was empty, hardly any other customers at that time, yet they still refused to let us use the room!

Food was good, Calamari appetizer was nothing to be desired. Drinks from the bar were over priced. Nice atmosphere but can get better food and drink for a cheaper price at Applebee's or Chili's.

We had the special. Rib eye steak, lasagna, and either nachos or green salad. The salad was the best thing served. We asked for medium on the steak, but it was completely well done. Tough as a boot. When the waitress finally came back around to us, I told her that the cook needs to watch the temps on the steak, she did offer to take it back, but by that time, my husband had managed to get his down. It will probably be a while before we visit this restaurant again. We came all the way from Yuma, AZ, to have lunch that day.

I didn't take pictures, but I have to say at least this location needs a major face-lift. It looks and feels dingy and dated. It could be cleaner and it's so loud in there. It's like being in a dive bar with everyone talking super loud. Our waitress was super nice, and she took good care of us, brought us our food quickly, and answered any questions we had with a smile. The food was decent but could use some flavor. Tasted very plain. Again, the wait staff was excellent, the place just needs some TLC.

I called for spaghetti and meatballs and a hawaiian pizza. It was not a hawaiian , it was something else with philly cream and it was overcooked or burned. Carino’s was better that before. Going to keep trying. Hope for better luck next time. A $45 dollar pizza should be better than that.

It has been about a year since we were last there because we don't live in El Centro. The changes are sad. Bread is served with the meal. Our table of four received 2 pieces of bread! Salads are no longer served with the meals. My special request was ignored. The eggplant parmesan was very disappointing. The slices were very thin. The service was minimal. We did not feel welcomed. Overall, not the wonderful experience that we used to associate with Johnny Carino's. Definitely it is no longer worth the drive from Yuma, AZ.

We make it a point to come and eat here when we come down to the valley but this last time that we ate. The food was disgusting the jalapeno tilapia was dry and hard it seemed that we were given fish from days old. The bread was so hard as a rock. The nachos were greasy and disgusting. The burgers were so tasteless. We won't be going back.

First Carinos I've visited. Ok food, poor service. Shrimp scampi was good. Others got nachos but did not have hardly any meat. Waitress disappeared for a long time and no staff offered drink refills for at least a half hour. Food also took a long time to come even during not busy hours

This restaurant has fallen from grace. As a chain they have lost a tremendous amount of value in all aspects of their operations. Food is marginal and overpriced. I ordered a cacciatore with a bottomless Caesar salad. The salad was disgusting. There was rotten lettuce in the mix. It's amazing that at the price point Carino's asks that they are not any more vigilant about serving food that could contain E. Coli, listeria, any number of pathogenic nightmares. The manager was not very concerned with the experience. I'm embarrassed for Johnny Carino's at large. I had another bad experience with another store in another state in which I purchased the pick 2 delivered by a service. It was not quite as bad as the Johnny Carino's in El Centro, CA. You're likely to find better circumstances at Denny's. Don't waste your money. I will never spend another dime at Johnny Carino's.

My family and I will not be coming here any longer. It was a bad experience from the moment I called ahead to ask for information. The decision wasn't made solely from this visit but the decline of good service experience. The waiter, bad. The quality AND incomplete food order, the wait time for food. The entire time we were there, there was 4 other tables occupied. So the restaurant was not busy.

I would rate this restaurant zero stars if it was an option. Tonight was the first time I tried This restaurant and I don’t know if they were extremely busy or what but whoever made the spinach and artichoke dip and chicken wings need to be fired. It’s bad enough I waited an hour and 15 mins to get the food but that had to be the saltiest food I have ever tasted to where I struggled to even eat it because I was hungry. I had to wipe the wings down with paper towels to get the amount of salt that was on them off just to eat it. The dip had no artichoke but A TON of salt not to add they had the audacity to put bacon in it as if it needed it. It was as if it was not a dip but instead it was Alfredo sauce with spinach added. I paid $25 for salt. Never Again!!! Update: The manager contacted me and offered a $30 credit if I would give the restaurant another shot. He Was very kind and respectful, and thanked me for giving my review as it helps them improve. I don’t know when I will try them out again but their customer service ethic and willingness to fix their mistakes is amazing.

This weekend the service was TERRIBLE. Our server Janina seemed to be more concerned with other parties that arrived after us. She offered refills once the whole time we were waiting. I asked for more bread several times and she kept saying she'd be right back but never brought it. Took almost an hour for me to get my food. She kept saying it's almost out. My family was done with their meals by the time my plate came out. I asked her to put it in a to go box and she made a face. I told her everyone's already done eating so please just put it to go. She didn't even offer an apology or anything. I've been there before but it only takes one bad experience to make you not want to go back. Managment needs to train the new staff better.

Mr. Manager yes I sure did order boneless wings. Wondering if frying wings will have no chicken meat on them. I'm not gonna delete or change my review. Please let your chef know that calamari and wings North worth me going back ever again. This was the worst pasta, I have ever ate in my life! I paid 24$, for a hot mess on a plate! My food was a little plate of pasta and three pieces of dried up chicken, and a container of bacon bits/not bacon on the side. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves for giving this food to people. I also paid for extra sauce, and it was watered down. I'm a cook, so I know what good pasta is, and this is not even close! What a waste of money! I will not be ordering from you again!

Date 8/17/2021 Terrible service!! Had a party of six and one of our orders took over an hour to be served while other parties arriving were being served before us. Asked our server multiple time for updates on our order and she kept repeating "it'll be out in a few minutes". Maybe the customers arriving were friends of the staff, I'm not sure why our order was overlooked. Also struggled with refills and extra orders of bread. I highly recommend never taking your business here. The staff didn't even offer a discount for poor service or apologize for the long wait.. This establishment need better management and more professionalism. Team performance is a reflection of management!!!

I came by myself so I sat in the bar area. The waitress was great but the lady that dropped off the food just dropped it off and walked away, Didn’t ask if I needed anything else. I have no utensils to eat my spaghetti and it was getting cold under the freezing AC. They didn’t come and offer any Parmesan cheese nothing. I had to get up and go ask the hostess for utensils and cheese. They can be trained better on how to be more courteous to their guests.

My wife and I drove from Yuma, AZ. to Carino's Italian restaurant on 12/23/24. We had gone there numerous times and we noticed that as time progressed the service and food was not to their high standards that we had gotten accustomed too. This particular day we ordered 1 regular Calamari which was not warm, 1 large Pasta with sauce, $ 5.99 for a small shrimp which was not hot. 1 large Lasagna which definitely was not hot, the cheese on top was not even melted. The waitress Amy had to be new because we had to ask for shredded cheese for the Pasta and other items. Before we never had complaints but this restaurant has since cut back on the service and food preparation, we have since decided to go else where. Also the prices have gone thru the roof, I don't mind paying for good service and food but this day it was terrible. My wife stated that the Lasagna was probably the size of the take out order because it was small and was priced at $ 5.99 and the one she ordered was the same size for $ 14.49. Too bad there is no 0 star option. On their online menu, it says the Italian Nachos includes chicken and/or sausage. I placed a pick-up order for it with a combination of both meat options. When I opened the container (for which they charged extra by the way) at home, I saw that there was no meat at all. I called the restaurant to see what happened, and Mariela/Maria (?) told me that the meat was for an extra charge. I don't remember this being a thing in the past and was never told. The menu also said nothing about extra charges either. The person I placed the order with (Vivian G.) just asked me which meat option I wanted so I said both. Both, not neither. Then Mariela/Maria condescendingly asked me if I wanted them to make me a new one. Can anyone verify if the extra charge for the meat(s) in the Italian Nachos is true as of February 2026? If they lied to me, I was wrongfully charged for my order. And if this is true, they really need to update their online menus on all platforms ASAP to avoid misleading even more customers. In either case, this was an unpleasant experience, and I want my money back. On a different occasion, their Tiramisu came out like a solid block of ice. Their menu never said it was going to be a hard, frozen mess that I could not even put my spoon through. Dunno why I ordered there today. Probably never going back ever again, and I recommend that you do the same unless you want to be cheated for your hard-earned money too.

I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but I felt it was important to share our recent experience so management is aware of some service and food quality issues that impacted our visit. After being seated, it took over 10 minutes before our waitress came to the table. The complimentary bread and oil were not brought out until shortly before our food arrived, which felt terribly late. We both ordered the Sunday unlimited pasta and salad special. Our salads arrived quickly, but after that there was a long gap in service. About 10 minutes later, the waitress returned only to let me know they were out of the chicken option for the special and offered a grilled substitute instead. Unfortunately, the substitute did not feel equivalent in value, and there was no adjustment made to the bill. By the time our food arrived, we had been waiting roughly 35 minutes, despite the restaurant being far from busy—only about a quarter of the dining area was occupied, and it was around 7:30 PM on a Sunday. When the pasta finally arrived, it was undercooked, and the sauce was noticeably watered down, which was disappointing. Throughout the meal, we had very little table service. I had to flag someone down just to request a salad refill. In total, our visit took over an hour, and the overall experience did not meet expectations for service or food quality. Again, I don’t usually leave reviews like this, but I felt it was important to provide feedback so these issues can hopefully be corrected for future guests.
