It was my first time the food was amazing I could not stop saying wow. We didn't wait long for our order everything looked very fresh the only thing I would have liked to see was more pictures in the menu the service was great everyone working there seem to get along well they were laughing and smiling making everybody feel welcome everything I ate was delicious and I'm a picky eater.

Fresh seafood without the premium price. Food quality is very good, along with fast and friendly service. Menu is simple enough to understand and there's a great selection as well. Order seared ahi tuna, came out perfect. The two side taco we order also has good presentation with decent size. All in all, highly recommended.

We were craving fish tacos, and we passed by the California Fish Grill, so we decided to have a quick bite there. We ordered our food at the kiosk, entered our phone number, and then I got a text notification when my order was ready, and they also called my name. We ordered the following items: -2 battered fishtacoso ($4.99 each x 2) -1 Cajun Swai Taco ($4.99) -1 Cajun Shrimp Taco ($5.50) -1 New England Clam Chowder ($7.99) -1 Soft drink ($3.60) We waited about 12 minutes, and then our order was ready. The battered fish taco was very crunchy and crispy. They gave us a good portion. It had diced tomatoes, pickled onions, cabbage, and cilantro with cream sauce. It was a bit heavy, but it tasted good. Both the Cajun Swai and Shrimp Taco also tasted good; the Cajun Swai Taco came with spicy roasted corn and cilantro sauce, and the Cajun Shrimp Taco had Cajun butter, spicy roasted corn with spicy dynamite sauce. We did not like the tortilla. They were too thick and hard; they were all easy to break. We should choose the flour tortilla instead. The taste was also on the heavier side. The Clam Chowder was creamy and rich. It was delicious. It had some clam meats and potatoes, served with oyster crackers. For the sofa drink, we picked the pineapple cream soda. It was my favorite. Highly recommended.

ALWAYS CHECK your pick up order. Almost every time we order to go there's something missing, an item is wrong, and your condiments aren't correct. We just did a pick up and got a taco we didn't order, that we returned. The condiments were incorrect. The food is good but they need to work on their pick up order system.

California Fish Grill has been on my bookmarks list for a while now. I finally dropped by when I was in the area for dinner. Make sure to come and allocate enough time to dine in as they close pretty on time at 9 pm. BF and I ordered the fried fish sandwich ($9.75), large clam chowder ($7.99), and their salmon and swai combo ($14.25). With the combo, we chose the cajun style sauce and double sides of fries. Everything was so good! The swai is very tender and goes well with the cajun sauce. Fried fish sandwich was crisp yet refreshing. Clam chowder had a good mixture of soup, potatoes, and clams. I don't know why it took me so long to visit California Fish Grill, but hope to be back soon to try the other menu items! Plenty of parking available as it's in the same plaza as the Puente Hills mall.

First time here. Wide selection of fresh fish and options. Clean dining room and easy ordering system. I had the battered fish platter which was good. The kale salad was a little bland but everything else was seasoned nicely. A plus was to see all the Stubborn soda options, I love those!

It was my first visit, and the food was delicious. They offer plenty of healthy options to choose from. We ordered the grilled fish plate and the classic fish and chips, which were tasty. I particularly enjoyed their tartar sauce. The restaurant is also conveniently located with easy parking.

We stopped by for an early dinner. This is the first time I’ve been to this establishment. I ordered the fried catfish with potatoes and rice. We also ordered two fish tacos, street corn, and rice. The catfish and tacos were really good and so were the side entries. The prices are reasonable and you do get a big portion The customer service is great here. The youngsters that helped us were courteous and friendly. The interior is spacious with plenty of tables and booths to sit down and enjoy your meal. They also have outside dining and plenty of parking with handicap stalls close to the front entrance.

Update: My husband ordered California Fish Grill on March 3rd 2023. He knows I am fond of it and our lil one. I was disappointed the bredding on the fish was too much, is like we didn't get much and very oily. I can smell the oil. I do not know if you all changed chefs, but their needs to be a level of consistency. I couldn't even eat all. Customers are already paying alot, at least can we get decent stuff for our money, everything is going up. This was the worst. I feel we will give you all a break. See pic attached. CFG, I know you all can do better than this. Visited here on November 22nd 2022. Hubby enjoys the food here as well as myself and my son. Service was pretty quick. The process is you order first. They would ask for your phone no when the food is ready you will be text to collect it. The food shown above cost approximately $44. The fish was juicy and tender. The Chicken Nuggets was delicious the only thing the fries was too Salty, which we noticed, California Fish Grill you all need to cut down on the Salt. Otherwise everything was good not too oily. Cashiers were pleasant. Will visit again God's will.

Although I love the food, please be aware when ordering online. I’ve had multiple online orders with mistakes in the past and contacted them several times to make them aware of the issue. Because of this, I actually stopped ordering for years. I recently decided to give them another try, and unfortunately, my order was incorrect once again. The food is good, but the repeated order accuracy issues make online ordering unreliable. I am going to stay away from this specific Puente Hills location.

The food sure is delicious the only thing that I may have a problem with is the portion serving. For 2 dishes and 2 sweet potato fries the total was about $47 As you can tell by the portions it’s definitely not worth the price. If they had adequate porting the meal would be worth getting.

The Random Visitor

Gets slow very quickly as they are unable to handle service for large crowds during lunch in an efficient manner. The food is not super fresh and can be better but for the price they are decent. The service and people are always busy and not service friendly or customer friendly as they seem to be focussed on a task but don’t realize that all their tasks are for the customers and to treat the customers accordingly. Not a place for me to visit again unless I am with a group who want to go there.
