My mom and I wanted a fine dining fancy experience. She ordered the chef special of lamb wellington and I ordered the cider pork. We learned that the chef had been there since 1989! Food was great. The only complaint was the close quarters of seating when many tables were open.
Inlet and Old Forge were in full bloom... Two of my favorites are the art studio and the wood shop....

Very good food, fresh ingredients and served on porcelain plates, not very common anymore but a sign for value. Quick and attentive service.
Local legend that lives up to its reputation in every way. Superb food and drink served up with great Adirondack hospitality in a classic relaxing setting. True vacation experience. Easy access, good parking, plenty of seating. Great bar. Our waiter (Jacob) was great/part of the floor show.
Enjoyed our dining experience. The food was very good. Service was excellent. Our party of 6 wete all satisfied with the selections we ordered. Thank you again for a wonderful time spent with our great friends.
5 stars, because I can't give it 6. we like to really rough it when we go camping... 😁 7th lake house is a MUST, pure & simple. my wife had a Margarita & the Mediterranean chicken, I had the shrimp zydeco & a switchback ale... just fantastic. and our server Courtney couldn't have been nicer. we left no room for dessert. and we will *definitely* be back.
The Holt family has owned and operated the 7th Lake House for 35 years, give or take a few. It had always been one of my favorites for fine dining in this part of the Adirondacks for many years until about 6 years ago or so, when I had a very indifferent meal there. I stopped going until late August this summer and now have been back two more times so far. I can happily report that 7th Lake has reclaimed their crown as the best restaurant in this area, much like Beethoven's 7th soars over his other 8 symphonies. Appetizers recently eaten include the famous Turkey Toes, homemade Salsa with chips and pan seared brussel sprouts with maple syrup. With your entree you can select a small caesar salad or crab bisque soup for an additional $2 (both are great). Entrees recently sampled include the House Famous Meatloaf, Brazilian Pork and Shrimp Zydeco. Long time standard, The Cowboy Steak is still on the menu and was always a favorite. The interior is really nice with blonde wood, white walls and nice photos. The wait staff and Jeff, the long term mixologist, are all top notch. The owner's daughter, Courtney is one of the waitresses and one of the best. Tonight they had a full house with a fire in the fire place....doesn't get much better!
We went 2 times last week while on vacation and the meals were outstanding both times! This is our 3rd year in the area and every year we make sure we get one of our dinners there. You must stop for dinner while in Inlet. :)
Pork loin was unbelievable. Tender and tasty. Carrot side tasted like apple pie with house made spice mix. This is one of the best meals on the menu.
Very nice. They were open and we'll staffed. They had some vegetarian entries. The food was good. We ate on the porch which was not too crowded, tables were generously spaced and it was ventilated
Best pork roast dinner put on a long time! Very cozy and pleasant setting. Fair prices and most friendly service. Will visit again when in Old Forge area
Food was excellent. I had the salmon, it was cooked perfectly. Our waitress was great. Our food allergic children were able to eat here.
A perfect Adirondack restaurant for an upscale appeal. The food is always fresh and tasty. The server very efficient and pleasant.
Great place to cozy up with a loved one! Amazing food, staff and view. Loved their daily special- Rack of Lamb in a Mint pesto sauce.

Everything was absolutely delicious and was a complete surprise. Was our last night of 9 days in the Inlet/Old Forge area. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. I had the smoked trout appetizer. My wife had the stuffed olive leaves. She had a Capri salad and the ginger/carrot soup. Everything was delicious. I had the strip steak special and it was perfection in a plate. Great wine and beer and cocktail selection as well. Our daughter had the Cowboy steak and it was also perfect. It was an extremely humid night and the outdoor seating was very warm. Only negative was the size of the restrooms. There is no possible way a person requiring special accommodations could possibly use the restroom.
All in all, food n service what very good. The only criticism I have was we wanted to change our reservation from 6 to 8 and was told they didn’t have any 8 seat tables. Yet when we were seated, there were two 8 seat tables that were empty for the entire time we were there… their loss of another $100+ on the bill.
Food was good! Service was fantastic! They are seasonal so if you go late October they may not be open! Turkey toes were super yummy!!

So much of the food was an unfocused raft of ingredients whose quality somewhat redeemed the combination. Our server was warm but seemed frazzled. The setting on the porch looking torward the lake was very nice.

Although the sign outside says serving by reservation they have no mention online. When entering inside, the staff was rude and told me they only have 1 cook so they couldn't serve any food or drinks! Yes drinks apparently require the cooks attention as well although the bartender had no issue serving a seated guest. They had plenty of seats available, why I wasn't offered service is beyond me, perhaps they didn't like my appearance?
