Abomination! You will say that about every other burger place after you visit Coyote. I have tried many places across Scotland for burgers and all I ever got was the same meat mix that was called "beef" which with beef had only name in common. At Coyotes you are getting actual beef meat in a perfectly smashed form, just like burgers should be, this is their natural habitat, not those marketshaped blocks of meat that looks like a hockey pucks. Sauces well balanced, bacon cooked to perfection, crunchy, but not dry, cutlery provided, but not needed. Very reasonably priced, good drinks and only thing better than the burger itself was my waitress Kara, table without a booking was not a problem for her and she managed timing perfectly, both for order picking and drinks delivery. Her smile was a fabulous enhancement to my visit at Coyote Burger. Highly recommended!

Really nice people and good burgers. Crusty, beefy and tasty with a beer to wash it down. Dirty fries were just that. Simple menu, gluten-aware and helpful. Just what we were craving and we’ll priced.

High quality food! What a tasty burger and delicious chicken strips. Given the quality and portions this place is not expensive at all. I still give 5 stars but the service could be more friendly.

This wee burger restaurant is a GEM in Inverness. Freshly made and extremely tasty. Beef, chicken, veggie and vegan burgers are available. Range of different fries from plain to dirty fries covered with cheese and sauce and bacon. My mouth is watering with just the thought. The restaurant is small and rustic. The tables get filled quickly but the turn around is fast. You don't feel like your being rushed as the service and staff are great. If your asked to wait for a table it's worth waiting. The first time we went we got a table straight away. Yesterday we had a 45 minute wait. They text you when a table is free so you can continue with shopping. Believe me waiting for their burger is worth the wait. Soft drinks and alcohol drinks are available, the coffee machine is out of use just now.

Food was amazing, staff were so friendly and so accommodating for a breastfeeding mum! Amazing views of river and amazing atmosphere inside! Between the two of us got the chicken bites, BBQ dirty loaded fries and the bacon cheeseburger burger…would 10/10 recommend all!!

Great place, amazing takeaway burgers. We recently went back to Coyotes and the food was still outstanding but the service was slow even when we booked our order via the QR code. Then we were sat right under the AC and it was far to cold had to sit with our jackets on but at the same time the staff were really accommodating as we turned up 30min early and was taken directly to our seats. So it's a bit of a mixed bag.......Seriously CAN NOT FAULT THE FOOD.

One of the best chicken burgers we’ve ever had. Connell was a great server!

very tasty food, cool decor, great service. i got the bbq dirty fries and the amount of toppings was perfect, not a boring bite in sight. the portion size was quite big, so you get your money’s worth. the big bowls can definitely be split between two people

Recommended by locals. Arrive early. Very small place with limited indoor seating. They have waitlist- normally about 30 min call back. Pick up is available. Burgers, fries, shakes are AMAZING! They also sell beer and other alcoholic beverages. Reasonable price. About 20 to 25 pounds per person.

Absolutely outstanding food! I had the brisket chilli beef burger and it's honestly the best burger I've ever had. I swapped the sour cream for peppercorn mayonnaise and this was delicious. There was loads of brisket beef and crispy onions too. The Mac and cheese balls are massive and very good! We ordered veggie dirty fries and these were pretty good, but next time i think we'd just stick to regular fries. There's enough in one portion to feed two adults. The only minor gripe was that it took a little while to arrive, but it was quite a busy Friday night and to be honest, it was well worth the wait. Shout-out to our server who was also amazing!

Excellent food and service, very attentive. I opted for the Brisket Chill Beef with Mac & Cheese Balls whilst the kids went for loaded fries, we weren't disappointed either. Also impressed by the range of Scotch on the menu too.

Absolutely loved eating here - delicious burgers (the smash haggis burger was amazing) and the dirty fries were good. Local beers and really good atmosphere. The service was prompt and pleasant - shout out to Connor for making us feel welcome and keeping us fed and watered!

Brilliant restaurant for lunch or dinner with a nice atmosphere. Milkshakes, burgers and all of the sides are excellent. Service is also great and staff are very attentive and friendly. Coyotes is a must do if you're in the area

Very cool location, the burgers tasted great and were big. It was a bit confusing that we were told at the entrance to order by app at the table, but then a waiter came and collected the menu cards because we were ordering by app. But we'll be back because it tasted good.

Delicious food. I had the original chicken sandwich with mac n cheese balls and sweet chili sauce dip. Yum! My husband had the chicken poutine bowl which was also so delicious! … Punk atmosphere and millennial punk-emo music. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Great burgers, freshly cooked highly recommend the hangry bird doubled up, nice and freshly cooked. Crisp and nice panko crumb on the chicken. We also had a burger big bowl, this was big and very cheesy, perhaps a bit claggy, but very tasty. N.B. burgers don't come with any chips but default but they are big. We thought 2 or 3 sides were more than enough for 4 of us. Staff were nice and friendly and attentive at first but it took ages for us to catch someone's eye to get the check at the end. All in, 4 meals and soft drinks were £100 including tip.

firstly i want to say that the food here was fantastic, and came out to us in less than 10 mins, so props to the kitchen staff. we ordered a ‘big bowl’ of fries each, we probably should’ve only ordered one to share as it really was huge, but that’s by no means a complaint as it was delicious! the atmosphere, however, wasn’t great on account of one staff member. we walked in and stood around for a couple minutes with no greeting from the guy at the front of house, a ginger guy who looked to be in his 30s, he was fiddling on the booking ipad. a younger dark haired staff member came by after clearly being busy, and this dude snapped at her, “there are customers waiting here”, so he had seen us, just didn’t care to acknowledge us. she asked him a question, it seemed that maybe she was in training, and he told her “cant you see that I’m busy? just shoo, disappear”, she looked embarrassed to be talked to this way, i felt so bad for her, if i had been spoken to like that in front of customers i would have thrown my apron down and left. we wanted to walk out at this point but then we were taken to our table by Mr. Face Ache so we felt committed to it. just to note, the place wasn’t even half full at this point so i have no idea what his problem was, but thankfully from then on we were served by the younger members of staff who were friendly and attentive, and would converse like normal people. i feel like this place could be so great, it just unfortunately left a bad taste in our mouths which certainly wasn’t from the food. i wish i had confronted that staff member about his treatment of the young girl at the time as i have been feeling bad for not sticking up for her ever since. to her and to the rest of the staff, keep being awesome! to Mr Face Ache, lighten up!

Lots of choice on burger and sides. The food was lovely and the music being played was much more interesting than the usual playlists. Would definitely recommend, and will be back to try out different options!

Coyote Burger in Inverness is a gem that combines great food, friendly service, and an excellent location. The staff at Coyote Burger are incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere from the moment you walk in. The service is efficient and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. One of the highlights of Coyote Burger is its fantastic location, offering great views overlooking the River Ness. This scenic backdrop adds a wonderful touch to the overall dining experience, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. The food is simply delicious. I had the burger and dirty fries, and both were outstanding. The burger was juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients. The dirty fries were a tasty indulgence, loaded with toppings that complemented the meal perfectly. Moreover, the prices at Coyote Burger are very reasonable, offering excellent value for the quality and quantity of food you receive. It’s a great place to enjoy a satisfying meal without breaking the bank. In summary, Coyote Burger in Inverness delivers on all fronts – friendly staff, good service, delicious food, and great views, all at a reasonable price. It’s definitely a place I would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Great burguers and worth the price. The dirty fries are a must! Make sure to book a table since there will probably be a queue and you'll have to wait for them to message you when it's your turn!

Tired of having a generic beef burger with tasteless fries? Coyote's have the best smash burgers you could ever imagine. They are located directly in the heart of Inverness in what was the old Jimmy Chungs which was also a firm favourite back in the day. I would advise booking ahead online as they can fill up pretty fast and you really don't want to miss out, it's that good. Staff are always so friendly and welcoming and with its large restaurant and views overlooking the riverside it's great for a catch up with friends, special occasion or just some food after a day of exploring. They are definitely worth a try, I cant rate Coyote's high enough, we travel up from Aberdeen and always make it our number one stop for dinner. The cheese and bacon burger with dirty fries is how you want it, there is no other place that does it any better, and it leaves you wanting more every time!

After a long day, despite being in Scotland, we really wanted a burger. Coyote didn't disappoint. Kara made our meal particularly lovely with her warm welcome and sparkling wit. A hearty burger with delicious chips and a terrific Nitro Amber Ale was the perfect lift after a disappointing meal the night prior. The best thing Gavin said was, "Everything on the menu is available tonight." You had me right there. The only critique is I am old. The music, though terrific, was a tad too loud.

Lovely restaurant with views of the river & friendly, chill staff. We were seated straight as we walked in & served by a guy who I think was the manager, he was clued up on allergens which helped put my Mum’s mind at ease before we ordered The haggis smash burger was unreal, make sure to stop at coyotes on your Inverness trip. Our new favourite burger joint in the city centre!

We dined here on 10/10 @ approx 1830hrs. Food was excellent, I had the haggis smash burger with fries and my girlfriend had the chicken loaded poutine fries. The food took about 40-45 minutes to come but this was consistent with how busy the place was, which is testament to how damn good the food is. Would highly recommend!

M

Great smash burgers. Be warned, the portions are big so I hope you are hungry! Staff are very friendly and come round every so often. There are also QR codes for you to order online of that's your thing.

The food was good, but I couldn't stand the cheese on the cheeseburger. The fries were good and flavoured. However, some burgers don't have much sauce. This means that the burger and the patties can be very dry. It is recommended that you order an extra sauce to put on the burger. Therefore only 3 stars. The service is great and friendly, you can pay with cash or credit card. You can chat in the shop with rock music playing in the background. The ambience is simple but appropriate and good. The waiting time for food is between 20 minutes and 45 minutes, depending on how busy it is. It is advisable to book a table at the weekend.

Great buzzy place for all things burger. Friendly service. Good burgers and great spot overlooking river in centre of town

The food took over half an hour to arrive after ordering but tasted delicious. CONS: The portion sizes were slightly smaller than what should be priced for, especially the cheesy fries as we were told by a waitress that it would be enough for two people. As mentioned before, the food took a while despite only ordering one burger each for two people with barely any customers in the room. PROS: The food was great and worth the price overall. It was filling for the both of us and would recommend again. The staff were also approachable and polite.

After a day of exploring the Highlands we had worked up an appetite and decided to try Coyote Burger restaurant. It's just past the bridge on A82 as you drive into Inverness. We were seated quickly by a friendly greeter and within a short period of time our server showed up. We placed our orders and in about 15 minutes they arrived. We ordered the bacon cheeseburger, dirty fries, and the BBQ dirty fries. The food was excellent, very tasty; we enjoyed it greatly. However, after our food was delivered, our server never appeared again. I wanted to order another drink, but had no chance since they never came back and never looked in our direction, even though we waved and tried to get their attention. In order to pay, we had to walk up to the front of the restaurant and ask for our ticket. We ate at many restaurants in Inverness so I know this is not the standard for the city. So, good food, but be prepared to be ignored. Update: the email address the owner gave doesn't seem to be real, so I can't send him the details he requested.

Tremendous spot in a brilliant location overlooking the River Ness. There’s a cool vibe inside and lots of space rather than having loads of tables packed in. Service was fast and very friendly. My girlfriend had a boozy milkshake which she loved and I had a pint. For food, I had the hangry chicken burger with a side of poutine. Poutine is underrated and not on nearly enough menus- was outstanding. Burger was also good although felt like it was missing something for my taste, just needs a wee kick of spice or something maybe. Would get the hot sauce burger next time and see what that’s like. My partner got the brisket loaded fries (big bowl on the menu) which were BLOODY MASSIVE. It was too much food for her so I gallantly stepped in to give her a hand. Also very tasty. Can’t wait to visit Inverness again so I can come back for seconds 😋

They make some tasty burgers, and their dirty fries are a famous food item in the town. I had Coyote's 'Hangry Bird' chicken burger and it was good. The dirty fries were unique and properly cooked and I enjoyed having them. Another highlight was the customer service, which is exceptional here. If all the wash basins in the gents' toilet had been functional, I would have given 5 stars.

Just turned up hoping be available seats and happy that we were attended instantly choice of seating we were taken to window seat over looking river lovely view I wasn't too hungry partner made most of his order ! Great service lovely burger and shake and choice of cocktails overall it was a pleasant time will return

Food was really good and worth it for the lunch deal. You have to pay for dips, however the dip portion is very big so not too big a deal. Service was meh, but would go back for the food. Music was really loud however, so wish they turned it down a few notches.

Came here during a brief visit to Inverness. The food was excellent, especially the burgers and chicken tenders with dirty fries—definitely the highlight of the evening! Service was decent, but it took a little effort to get the staff’s attention. Overall, a great dining experience. Would visit again!

I had the Hangry Burger, and it was absolutely delicious, juicy, packed with flavour, and cooked perfectly! The staff were super friendly and made the experience even better. The place has a great vibe and location, perfect for a relaxed meal in the heart of Inverness. Definitely a must-visit burger spot if you’re in town!

It’s a great place to spend time especially if you are with a company but everything takes ages. We waited for 32 minutes to be served burgers and fries (20 min for the drinks to arrive), currently waiting for over 10 minutes for a bill. Food is quite good. Maybe not the best burger I’ve ever had but good. It’s winter, the day is short and even though place is decorated nicely for Christmas and has a good vibe, feels like a waste of time. We were also incredibly hungry when we came and they could give a heads up about the long wait.

M

We visit this place for first time and we where little disappointed we order double bacon cheeseburger with normal fries and side of buttermilk fried chicken bites. The burger was okey..sadly very greasy from the bacon which wasnt left enought time on side to get rid of the fat which made the whole burger very greasy and just ruint the taste of the burger. But luckely we order the chicken bites because O.M.G...so good very flavour full and juicy...the best CHICKEN BITES we had in a while..very surprising. Also order glass of wine and cider...in total we spend £56...little lot for burger and fries but the drinks are very overpriced..rip off...save your money and go to tesco get yourself whole bottle of wine for that money 😂

I had the vegan BBQ burger with vegan cheese, bacon, and patty and it tasted great! The flavors were spot on, and I really appreciate that everything was fully vegan. However, the bun was a big letdown. It felt like it came straight out of a plastic bag: cold, soft, and falling apart as soon as I picked it up. It wasn’t toasted or warmed, which really affected the whole experience. That’s definitely something they need to improve. The lemonade was okay, but had a bit of a strange smell, maybe that’s just my personal taste. Overall, the food was good, but I’d only come back if the bun gets fixed.

My food came out quickly, and I was seated without a wait on a Saturday night. The burger was good, but nothing to write home about. Also a bit dry. They didn’t ask how I’d like it cooked, maybe that’s not how they do things. I was really disappointed in my Coke. It was totally flat. 3 pounds for a glass of flat Coke is a bummer.

S
Sean Gibson

Excellent vibes, nice spot and very friendly/helpful staff. I only downrate because of the price. 15 pound for a burger with no fries or any side is very pricey. £4 for a pint of Coke Zero draught is also very pricey. But what I didn’t like the most, is when ordering on the app there’s already a tip set which is paid before the order goes through. Tips are optional and there should be no pressure on anyone to tip, especially when prices were already so high. No idea if the same was the case when I ordered via waiter because no bill was provided, just a card reader where I was to tap. The food was good, but was it worth nearly 30 quid for a burger and fries with a coke? Definitely not.

E
Eddy J

The blonde staff member( in her mid 20s) at entrance was pretty rude and she claimed I need to reserve the seat in advance. I could see most of the seats empty. I exclaimed that it was my birthday and the seat is just for me. The day was on weekday not even on weekend. I was so exhausted from my travels that I wanted to have to good burger and wasn't in mood to look for another one. She left me dry on that place and super arrogant. The management needs to investigate on their staff members specifically their behaviours. I went around the block and book through open table which got reserved within a minute. I came back and noticed there were not much people having at the restaurant. Other than that, buttermilk chicken burger and red ale would great. I would have given five stars had the staff members wasn't so rude.

I hate to write negative reviews, but I need to in this case. The service at this establishment was awful tonight. No cutlery, ketchup, or follow-up after the food arrived. We even requested ketchup when the burgers arrived. One of our party didn't realize the bun tops were seeded and asked for a bun bottom without seeds. The floor manager refused and said the guest should have told the server when she ordered. The server was kind enough to bring us one when I offered to buy one. She appeared to be new and seemed embarrassed by the manager's comment. The food was okay. Cheese fries portion was small. Burger was large and generally tasty. Chicken sandwich was just okay. Their small trays make the food look larger. The milkshakes were the best part of the meal. Too bad, as I wanted to like Coyote's.

My granny phoned up about a lost voucher, the manager picked up the phone and was very hostile towards her! He had no patience at all with her. We could hear him shouting at customers as well through the phone. I understand it can get busy and stressful but he should absolutely not be projecting his stress and anger out on paying customers. I’ve never in my life heard a manager speak like that to someone before. Nevermind to an elderly person. He said my granny was being rude to him? Luckily we recorded this phone call. He kept repeating questions with moodiness to my granny before she had the chance to answer. I seriously suggest you have a word with this manager as you are 100% going to lose custom over his mood and inability to keep calm and composed. Clearly the well loved coyotes has changed. Disgusting.

Disappointing Experience During our summer tour of northern Scotland, we visited this restaurant with four adults and two children, and unfortunately, our experience was completely unpleasant. Although the food was good, the treatment we received was far from welcoming. The staff, seemingly irritated by the presence of children, treated us rudely and unprofessionally. They ignored us, avoided coming to our table to take orders, and even when clearing dirty plates, they seemed annoyed. On several occasions, we noticed dismissive attitudes and unfriendliness, with eye rolls and muttering among the staff. It appeared that the team was mostly very young, with no proper supervision from a manager or an adult figure. This contributed to a sense of disorganization and lack of professionalism. We felt completely neglected and overlooked. Unfortunately, this was one of the worst experiences we had during our trip. We hope the management takes action to improve staff training and hospitality so that future customers don’t have to face the same issues. .
