AYCE is not my type. FB push promotion BOGO via Yelp reservation. Hard to resist. It’s spacious and very clean. Servers are friendly and attentive. $50 AYCE includes sides and rolls as well, but we ordered 6 pcs of BBQ only.
AYCE BBQ is always my favorite. Premium meat options are available alongside with seafood choices and sushi bites. I’m so in love! Also, don’t miss out their salad station with so many fresh choices of veggies and mushroom.
I really enjoyed my lunch. It was AYCE Japanese BBQ and Sushi. I went with the Deluxe. Making my reservation through Yelp, I got 20% off. What's cool is ordering your food through an I Pad at your table. You can order as fast as you can eat without waiting for yo server. I thought the food and service were really good. After paying the server told me to get a Gelato on my way out.
We often go there with our kids for barbecues. The children love it because they can have ice cream and s’mores at the end. If you make a reservation through Yelp, they sometimes offer promotions. It’s good to check promotions through Instagram
First time having sushi and BBQ at the same time but it was still a great experience. The vibe was great and the waitress was extremely nice and lively. The food is also top notch with everything being made then and there. Would recommend!
We decided to visit 7 Japanese BBQ, Sushi & Yakitori Bar on their second day after the grand opening, and I’m so glad we did! Despite some early mixed reviews, our experience was truly fantastic. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The highlight was definitely the fresh cuts of meat. Each meat was flavorful and absolutely fresh. The ambiance was cozy, with a touch of festive holiday spirit in the air. We loved the Christmas music playing in the background—it really added to the welcoming atmosphere. It’s clear they’re working hard to deliver a great dining experience, and we’ll definitely be supporting them as they continue to grow. Highly recommend!
7 Japanese BBQ & Yakitori Bar has just shot to the top of my favorite spots, and for good reason! I recently indulged in their premium AYCE (All-You-Can-Eat) menu, and it was an absolute dream for any meat lover. The quality of the meats was off the charts – we're talking incredible wagyu, unique DNA cut meat, perfectly tender beef tongue, and succulent boneless short rib. Each cut was marbled beautifully and cooked to perfection right at our table. But it's not just about the meat! Their AYCE seafood selection is equally impressive, with a fantastic array including sweet snow crab legs, delicious nigiris, and a variety of fresh sushi. It's rare to find such high-quality and diverse offerings on an AYCE menu. To top it all off, they had a limited-time All-You-Can-Drink promotion featuring both sake and beer, which was the perfect complement to the rich flavors of the BBQ. It truly elevated the entire dining experience. Beyond the incredible food and drinks, the practicalities were also a breeze. Parking was easy (a huge plus in this area!), and the service was outstanding – attentive, friendly, and efficient without being intrusive. The atmosphere itself is simply perfect. Whether you're looking for a romantic date night, a fun night out with friends, or a lively birthday or get-together with your buddies, 7 Japanese BBQ & Yakitori Bar hits all the right notes. It's vibrant yet comfortable, making it ideal for any occasion. Seriously, if you're craving top-tier Japanese BBQ with an amazing selection, fantastic service, and a great vibe, you have to check this place out. I'm already planning my next visit!

Thanks to the deal - our family got to receive 40% off for reserving in advance for this grand opening and eat so well! God bless this place! I just fear that this will become over popular and busy hahaha. Please keep up the good work and quality. Service was incredibly responsive and kind. You make your orders over an iPad. We have been told to ensure check out is done by our server, so that the process would go quicker. Please do not leave any leftovers and be mindful of what you order! We went around a weekday lunch, and it proved to be not too crowded! The reservation system ensures great organization. The music is not too overpowering and allows for decent conversations over a table. Things that stood out for my family: **The sushi did not contain too much rice - we’ve been to other restaurants that would offer sushi deals only to be disappointed at their marketing scheme of adding more rice to make us full on rice rather than seafood! **There are some meats that are incredible fresh and if you have a favorite meat, we hope you get to be incredibly delighted by what you find! **Desserts are also included as part of the package! It’s a wonderful idea to make smores over the fire **Drinks are about $3.99 and have unlimited refills Favorite meats: Top blade - sliced Beef steak Top blade - dna cut
The meats were high-quality, well-marbled, and super flavorful once grilled. Every cut felt fresh and tender, making the whole BBQ experience feel a level above the typical AYCE spot. The sushi was surprisingly really good too — we ordered the premium menu and loved the nigiri selections, which were fresh, well-portioned, and satisfying. If you go with the deluxe menu, you’ll get sushi rolls instead, which still looked great and came out neatly prepared. To end the meal, they serve ice cream that was shockingly delicious — honestly better than some storefront ice cream shops. Such a perfect sweet finish!

We've been wanting to check out 7 Japanese BBQ, Sushi & Yakitori since they opened. Located at the corner of Culver and Barranca, this space was formerly an Island's so the interior is spacious. We visited on a Thursday night to celebrate two birthdays and to take advantage of their BOGO promotion. I informed the staff about the occasion we were celebrating and before we knew it two birthday balloons appeared out of nowhere! 7 offers $50 and $70 AYCE packages. I recommend starting your meal at their self serve salad bar and ordering appetizers (all orders are placed via tablet at your table). We opted for the Deluxe Tier and we tried most of their meats. Overall meat quality is good and my favorites were the Beef Belly, Pork Belly and Beef Top Blades. We also tried their Seared Salmon and Golden Trio Seven sushi rolls as well as their Tonkotsu Ramen...none were particularly memorable. The meats is where its at, and I hope to revisit again in the future and try out their Premium Tier. Best way to finish off your meal is with the gelato they serve in different flavors!
I found this new AYCE Japanese BBQ place in Irvine, CA. I’m used to Korean BBQ or good all southern places, but I had fun eating here at “7 Japanese BBQ”. If you don’t want to move around and do some ‘exercise’ in a restaurant, you have an option to do Ala Carte option as well. Food and atmosphere were better than average, but the staff members were super friendly. And gelato (included to your AYCE menu) was a definitely an added bonus. I will definitely come back here if I have a big party to entertain at a reasonable price!!!
The restaurant was excellent; the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was good. It was slightly different from the average restaurant in Japan. I wish there had been more variety in the sauces and desserts. Overall, we enjoyed the experience. It’s better to make a reservation in advance, but we went during a non-peak time and were given a table without one.
7 BBQ was running a promotion that brought the lunch price down to $29.99, so we decided to give it a try! With a reservation, we were seated immediately. Ordering is done entirely through their self-service tablet—from water and side dishes to meats, sushi, and beverages—super convenient! Unfortunately, the grill setup had some issues. The center burned too quickly, even before the meat was fully cooked, while the edges took forever to heat up. It also got very smoky, to the point where it irritated my eyes. On the bright side, the sushi was tasty, especially the Love Love Roll (no rice) and the salmon nigiri. However, the quality of the meats were inconsistent—some were fresh, while others weren’t (see photos). The appetizers were a mixed bag; the egg rolls and gyoza were great, but the miso soup and curry rice were cold and lacked flavor. One highlight? They offer s’mores for dessert, which was a fun way to wrap up the meal! At the original price of $49.99, I wouldn’t return, but at $29.99, it’s worth considering.

We called in to make a reservation, however were told that it was best to make the reservation on Yelp so that we could get a discount. We proceeded to go onto Yelp to make a reservation, but they did not have the time that we wanted. It was either too early or too late, so we called back to ask to make a reservation directly with the restaurant. We were fine foregoing any Yelp discounts, but was told that we should go ahead to book on Yelp for the later time but just come in early, so we did just that, despite it being a bit more of a hassel since we were already on the phone with them. Strange that they refused to make a reservation over the phone. We arrived about 30 min early and spoke with the gal at the front and I explained to her what were told. She said ok, then proceeded to assist other guests, while another employee walked up and seated others that came in without a reservation. I figured that yhe first gal didn't understand what I explained to her, so I went back to explain to her our situation. She said ok, that she would help us out, but she left to assist patrons at their tables for a bit. Luckily the other employee that had seated the other people earlier came back out to see if we've been helped yet. She got us seated almost right away, so all was good. Once seated, she kindly explained the two tiers they offer, and how to use the iPad to order everything. We opted to go with their top tier so that we could get wagu beef and beef tongue. With the fact that we reserved on Yelp and orderd the top tier, we get unlimited hot sake and beer. They limit you one order per person on the better cuts and sushi. This is kinda ridiculous since we paid a much higher price to eat their top tier choices. We can go eat at other Japanese bbq without limits for the same price or cheaper closer to home. We can also go eat at our favorite sushi spot with no limits and the price is about the same even though it's mot AYCE. We chose the expensive tier for the wagyu, but when we ordered, we got something that looked more like beef round slices. As shown in my photos. It was very tough and chewy too. We thought that they had made a mistake, so we ordered it again, but the same meat came out. After we inquired, they confirmed it was wagyu. I beg to differ. We just asked them to return it. The nice server suggested we order beef short rib instead. It was very marbled and was super tender and delicious! Thank you! We ordered sushi, and the toro was kinda fishy. My piece had a bone in it and my husband's looked like weird scraps thrown together, as you can see from my photo. The sweet shrimp, scallops and yellowtail were delicious, but limit one order per person. Very dissapointing for the price we paid. Be sure to check your bill. We informed the server that we booked on Yelp right before she went to get the bill, but they still charged us for the free drinks. The bill was $180 for two people, but dropped to $150 after she corrected the mistake. They never changed our grill for us, even after it got crusty and dark with burnt meat. I guess we should have waved someone down to do that. Most places take initiative to do that for you. Our table was so ridiculously small. We had to keep moving stuff around everytime food or drinks came. It felt more like a kids table and made for a rather stressful and unpleasant experience. Makes zero sense when the grill takes up the majority of the space and they have plenty of space for larger tables. 🤔 Parking was easy, free and plentiful. Not sure I would cone back again. The limits were off putting for an AYCE. This place is worth trying if you've never need.
We enjoyed the meal, especially with the 50% off for Dads and seniors—great value with the discount. That said, we wouldn’t consider paying the full $69.99 without it. The experience is nice, but the regular price feels a bit steep for what’s offered.
Went here for my son's 12th birthday. They had the BOGO promotion but my disagreement was that they charge my 2 kids under 12 adult price of $49.99. Without the promotion I believe kids price are $24.99. Not consistent with their prices.
Nice dining environment with good space between tables and a clean restroom. However, the food was just okay, and the meat quality was not good. Service was average—our sushi was missing and even came out twice after we had already paid. Service definitely needs improvement.

I was really disappointed in the quality of the food at this restaurant. I think the best tasting item was the sausage which is probably the cheapest. We tried many different types of beef and they were equally disappointing. The bulgogi was too salty, the brisket was too tough and the beef and pork belly did not taste very good. The chicken karage wasn’t great either. One of the highlights of my meal were the mushrooms. I tried one of the sushi rolls and it was alright but nothing special. I don’t know how this place charges $50 for the deluxe ayce and stays in business. We came for the BOGO and for the BOGO price, low quality is expected, but not for $50 per person. I would go to a korean bbq place or gyu Kaku over this. Would not recommend even at the BOGO price. The servers and staff were, however, attentive and friendly. The s’mores and ice cream for dessert were a nice touch but s’mores are s’mores.

The only thing that's good is the service. The staffs are very nice and attentive. Ventilation is very bad. Towards the end of dining, I just want to go outside for some fresh air. You'll definitely leave feeling greasy on your clothes, skin, and hair; even glasses. I had to wash my glasses before I leave the restaurant. We tried this place during their buy one get one free special for their $49.99 Deluxe tier. The food is just ok for the deal. It is not worth the full price of $49.99. Meat quality is so so. Sushi is better than BBQ meat, except eel roll. I have never had that many tiny bones in eel rolls.
It's all you can eat but some of the meat selection still need to charge extra which is rare. Overall meat quality is below average and not sure why most of the meat color all looks so dark not as fresh or tasty look. Beef belly is like belly only without lean meat. Appetizers are okay as we think edamame and cheesy sweet potatoes probably are dishes we like the most throughout the entire menu. As for tempura shrimp rolls, shrimp is so small while there is no tempura inside as described. Overall, not really recommended if you are looking for wide menu selections and quality meat BBQ place.

I would I can give zero star. The black menu is their website menu, white paper menu is their menu in store, and they use the iPad for order. You can see some meat items (experience one) are missing from their iPad compared to their website or menu in store. They keep told me, the meat selection just no available for this moment, they are cutting in the back. The truth is i have been eat for 90mins, I haven’t see any updated in iPad. Those more expensive meat selection were never shown on the iPad. They really play well for cheating the customer.
