Service? 10/10. Food 10/10. As soon as we sat down we were taken care of better than at a family's house. We had the salmon and dinner salads, with cheesecake for dessert. When I returned my blanket from the car, the server eagerly asked if I was cold and was ready to adjust the thermostat for me. He asked if I needed recommendations immediately brought out drinks and overall was the most kind server I've ever had. Keep doing what you're doing, big fan.
We dined in during the Dallas snowstorm when just about everything else was closed, so we were incredibly thankful that Politano Pizza was open. It ended up being a great opportunity to try a new local Irving spot, and we were very impressed. The pizza was excellent—full of flavor and clearly made with care. On top of that, the service was outstanding: very friendly, welcoming, and accommodating, especially considering the weather conditions. We will definitely be returning and are glad to have found this place.
This Italian restaurant deserves way more than five stars — the food was easily a 1000/10. Every dish was full of flavor, perfectly cooked, and tasted truly authentic. You can tell everything is made with care, passion, and high-quality ingredients. What really made the experience unforgettable was the owner. He is incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about what he does. He took the time to check on us, talked with us, made us some recommendations and made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere is warm and cozy, perfect for a date night, family dinner, or even a casual meal with friends. From the service to the food to the overall vibe, everything was flawless. If you’re looking for real Italian food, amazing hospitality, and a place that makes you want to come back again and again, this is it. I will 100% be returning and recommending this place to everyone I know. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
This restaurant is absolutely incredible. When my boyfriend and I came here for the first time, we ran into the owner of the restaurant, who doubled as a server. We will never forget the kindness and professionalism he had for us. This restaurant will forever hold a place close to our hearts, not just for the service, but on how filling the food is! I mean, where else can you get a single serving of a calzone that's as big as your head? Not only does the food taste good, it's authentic -- the lasagna is a recipe that has been passed down the family line for generations! Plus, you cannot beat the price for the delivery of a warm, fresh-baked pizza. For anyone who is hesitant or have yet to visit - Please do! You will never go back to Domino's or Olive Garden again.
this was some of the best food we ever had!! we were having such a bad day after we missed our flight, we just needed something to go right. we came here and were met with excellent and friendly service that accommodated my diet. the food was outstanding!! the grilled chicken was probably the best ive ever had. my family loved the pasta. would totally come back if i lived here!! 10/10 recommend!!
I dinned in tonight and got the shrimp scampi over linguini and it was the best Italian meal I’ve had in Texas! My boyfriend ordered a pizza and he’s from NY, always bragging on their pizza but he was very pleased with chesse/pepperoni and mushroom pizza. The service was amazing! You could tell they cared about the food and you very much! Happy we found this place!
We tried this restaurant because of other’s good reviews on gluten free pizza and the pictures of pizza and pasta looked amazing. We definitely enjoyed the food - gluten free pizza, dinner salad, the kids enjoyed garlic bread served with our meal, lobster ravioli, and BBQ chicken pizza. The server was great! And loved the atmosphere. 10/10 Recommnend!
Score--94/100 I don't know what Italian restaurant will top this place, for me. This restaurant is a hidden gem, tucked away waiting for you to find. If I lived in the area, I would never go to olive garden or carabbas or wherever again. This isn't the place you take your girlfriend because you want to get dressed up and impress her. This is a place you go to when you want her to taste food like your Nonna used to make. We had lobster ravioli, spaghetti and meat sauce, fettuccine Alfredo, antipasto salad and a stromboli, with a glass of wine and sodas. Everything was amazing. We spent the whole ride home talking about how crazy it was that we found this place, and you should too. I was not sponsored or compensated in any way, to be clear; this was just damn good food. I should have taken more pictures, but it smelled so good nobody wanted to wait on me to take pics lol 1. App/Online Orders/To-Go/Menu. 6/10 There is NO app, which is to be expected of a restaurant with only 1 location, but you CAN order online. They also offer catering and delivery. Their menu IS available online, but is out of date and prices and items are not accurate and updated to what you see in-store. I have attached the menu's from 7/9/25 for accurate reference. 6/10 in this category just because prices and menu items were not up to date online. 2. Location/Convenience 8/10 For us, the location was great. Roughly 10 minutes from our hotel by the airport, and right next to another cool area to take the kids to play. For us, and I would imagine anyone relatively localish, that its pretty convenient. 8/10 3. Parking 10/10 Parking was great. No garage, no problems, just great parking. Parked right up front! 10/10 4. Seating Wait Time 10/10 0 wait time, greeted happily and seated immediately. 5. Food correctness/Wait time 10/10 All of our food came out just as ordered and promptly! Nothing was cold, everything was fresh, correct and as hot or cold as it should have been. Everything came out together and was amazing. My mom forgot to ask to not put parmesan on top of her spaghetti, and they made her a new one. Our fault, but they fixed it no problem. Wonderful employees! 6. Food Flavor 10/10 The pictures don't do it justice, and I should have taken more, but we dug in! If I could give this a higher score than 10, I would. This was as good or better than places like Giadi's in Vegas, and way better, and more affordable, than chains like Carabbas, etc. Any time I am in Dallas, I will make the trip to this restaurant to come try more things. All of us loved our food, the portions were perfect, everything was way better than we imagined, and this place really deserves to be in a stand alone building seating 300+ tables a day. This is the most underrated Italian food I have eaten. EVER. Blown away. $12.49 for lobster ravioli. At Carabbas the same dish in a similar location in Dallas $24.99, literally DOUBLE. And we liked this one better, for half the price. If you are in the area and you don't give this place a chance...you're missing out. 7. Service 10/10 Our waiters were more than waiters, they were committed. I'm not positive, but I believe they are the owners. They took a certain pride in asking us about the food that didn't feel like the typical "you guys good here? OK, cool". They appreciated the love we had for the food, and their service matched their food. 8. Value 10/10 Again. 10/10. Great sized portions, great flavor and a fantastic price. 9. Experience/atmosphere/kid friendly 10/10 It was great. I came in shorts and a T shirt and had better food than when I had to dress nice to enter some of these restaurants. Kids loved Alfredo and want to try pizza next time, so they were happy! On the website it says, nothing fancy, just great Italian food. That's this...Come as you are and enjoy some damn good food! 10/10 this is my vibe. 10. Go Back Again? 10/10 I. CANNOT. WAIT.
Been to this restaurant for dinner and we ordered Garlic Bread, Fettuccine Alfredo, and Chicken Carciofi. We liked the taste of both dishes. I would rate the Fettuccine Alfredo as my top choice, followed by the Carciofi. The Carciofi had a tangy flavor, which I’m not a big fan of, but the artichoke in the dish added a nice touch. The portion was so generous that we had to ask for a to-go box. The chef and his team were very friendly. They made sure we liked everything and went above and beyond with their service.
I would rate this place over Lombardi’s. Their food tasted more authentic, freshly prepared, not like it was prepared for a few days it tasted fresh. It was appetizing, and it was pleasing visually hit all five senses. Their meatballs were on a point. You could tell that they were never frozen. It was a good solid piece of meat And it has like that good corner Italian diner feel I was very pleasantly surprised and happy to be surprised. Well about a week later I went back to check on the food and try new things I pacifically asked for butter with my rolls I mean, in-house in the restaurant you can get them but if it’s Togo You’re not welcome to that you’re considered a second class citizen and their establishment. It’s only for in-house.
Absolutely loved our experience at Politanos! The vibe was amazing, the host was super gracious, and the service was top-notch. We had the Caprese salad and fried ravioli to start — both were delicious! The Penne Rigate with grilled chicken and Lobster Ravioli were perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. And the tiramisu? One of the best we’ve ever had! Everything was spot-on. Highly recommend!
Everything was great~dined in my husband <3 We got the fettuccine Alfredo and the goat cheese smth pizza and both of them were delicious. And the strawberry cheesecake 🤤😍 everything was not just yummy but presented well too. The server was really nice too. Our overall experience was great. Will come again!
I really enjoyed the Italian atmosphere in this restaurant! I tried ordering a lobster ravioli, but wanted to substitute the brandy cream sauce with alfredo. The waitress wanted to uncharge me for the substitution which to me makes no sense since I'm not getting both sauces. Instead I went with the cheese ravioli with added shrimp. It tasted fantastic. I just will say that this waitress needs to be a little more respectful to her guests. I asked if she was from Italy.! (notably, it's my most favorite country to visit.) She seemed to have gotten so offended and said, "I moved here years ago." I had only asked because I love talking about Italy especially with natives, but I guess people get extremely easily offended these days over ANYTHING!
The girl at Knotts were OK could’ve used more butter and garlic maybe even some really good olive oil with salt and pepper.. the Caesar salad was a basic Caesar with cheese and the meatball sub was good served on a French baguette ..!
I ordered chicken aka panna on recommendation of counter person - told it is similar to chicken fettuccine but breast is breaded - order delivered to table with pasta swimming in creamy sauce with no chicken visible.. . why would you bother breading the chicken if it’s underneath the sauce? . do I have to request breaded chicken on top of the sauce here? . My first visit wasn’t impressed but it is a nice place.
3 star review. Some good, some bad aspects of my order. See below. I got several items based on the posted reviews. Lasagna: looks great and good portion, but the noodles were not cooked properly. Very rubbery. Honestly do not want to eat it due to texture. Fried ravioli: coming from a place where we have ours filled with meat, this was filled with cheese, but the cheese flavor wasn't the best. Very melty, just the flavor was off. Fried mozzarella sticks: large amount, however, the cheese part was totally cold and hard. Like it wasn't melted or fried at all. See image. Just a stick of cheese whole and like they were old or not fried and instead just heated up. Disappointed. Lobster bisque: had great flavor and not bland like most places, however, there were several long stringy bits in it, and no idea what they're were. They included garlic knots for free which was nice of them, and the knots were good. I asked for extra sauce which they included for free, which was nice. In all, the quality of the food was just basic. Nothing exciting or fantastic. A couple of items I really don't plan on eating after just tasting, due to bad texture and not being cooked well. I would maybe attempt the pizza here, but unsure of quality, as these main items just don't make the cut for me. I would try other items if I was someplace where they were provided for free, but doubt I would purchase anything from here again. Atmosphere was nice and service was very nice. Just need some better quality for italian food.
Ordered food. Service is fine, but the food isn’t the best. The spicy pasta is good, the meatballs taste like they were frozen and then microwaved. So gross do not order them. This taste like more of a fast food Italian place in my opinion.
In town for work for 3 weeks, no car, so I rely on Uber Eats — and I was so excited to order from Politanos again. I mean EXCITED. I even told my coworkers about how good it was last time. Tonight, though, was a total letdown. I ordered the Chicken Alfredo and Garlic Cheese Bread. The Alfredo had zero flavor — not even a hint of seasoning. I added the salt and pepper packets, hoping it would help, but it still tasted like plain pasta in a flavorless sauce. Honestly, play-dough might have more flavor. Then there was the garlic bread. I expected something cheesy and toasted, but instead I got two soggy halves, melted together, wrapped in foil, and shoved in a bag. It looked nothing like the pictures on their site. Why not use a small box to keep the bread crisp and separate? I’m not trying to shred the restaurant, but this meal left me both disappointed and still hungry. Maybe they had an off night, but for the price and the hype, this was subpar at best. I even took off my dessert just to make my purchase more affordable. Maybe the Keylime pie would’ve been the best part of tonight. 🤷🏽♂️ also how does one take a picture of flavorless Alfredo?
