I got the snowball with black bean paste, fruit and mochi and it was 10/10, never had this before, finally a good dessert, (not overpowering sweet) in isla vista. The guy attending me was very nice and the atmosphere was clean.

When this place blows up….. you won’t get in. Unbelievable prepared and presented quality ingredients exploding with flavor, worth three times what you pay…..(absolutely worth the time sent waiting, it’s the real deal !)

The food is SO good and reasonably priced!! This is my one of my new favorite places In IV and I’d highly recommend checking it out

Food was a 4.5 I really loved thw crispy rice but my fiancé felt like something was missing to the bbq pork dish. But still reccomend

Nestled between fried, cheap IV eats, and liquor stores is this absolute gem of a restaurant. Surprisingly amazing quality, complex and comforting flavors and menu options, and the nicest staff I’ve come across anywhere here in Isla Vista. Teddy Rice is one of those places that deserves all the hype (and so much more). Their omurice is the best I’ve had and a dish we return for regularly and you can’t miss the dumplings (the vegetarian ones are 10/10) or 1$ side of miso soup.

IV's weakest link, despite its amazing weather and people, is its limited food palette and diversity. So, students end up being forced to choose between 3+ different pizza places or hispanic food, which isn't an issue until you're two weeks in and tired of eating the same food. Teddy Rice manages to bring exclusion with the idea that different foods can succeed in IV! Although I didn't personally enjoy the hot foods due to its blandness, the dessert bingsoo(shaved ice w. condensed) milk has been my top 2(and it isn't 2nd) options for something to have after a meal or to celebrate with! The workers, especially Teddy is super friendly and brings with himself a special environment to the restaurant. I love celebrating small and big accomplishments with my close friends, so whenever they tried their hardest for a volleybay intramural or finished studying for actuarial exam, I believe this is the best place to take them to celebrate. Please give them a try and especially try the mango option(the +$1.25 is worth it, trust)!

This spot in IV is one of a kind. The food is super fresh, high quality, and the portions are generous. Whether you're after a refreshing shaved ice or a fulfilling and nourishing meal, they got you covered. Plus the staff is super friendly, the food is prepared and presented with such care, and the prices are so reasonable. So far, I’ve tried the spicy tuna, omurice, galbi rice, and mango shaved ice—they were all delicious, and I’ll be going back for more.

An IV restaurant has no business being this tasty. Excellent Asian fusion cuisine and the galbi, omurice, and snow bowls were all SO amazing. Definitely the tastiest restaurant in IV HANDS DOWN. The presentation looks so amazing and cute too. Plus, the price is excellent! The only thing is that the service is slightly slower compared to some other IV restaurants but it's just Teddy (and sometimes his chef) in the back and he's working so hard to make the food good, so I don't mind :). Worth the wait!

Currently they are doing a soft opening, with 12-8 as their tentative hours (their opening hours are a bit wonky at the moment due to the soft opening). So expect for now that they may be closed during some times and that they may be out of certain ingredients. I got the spicy tuna rice bowl and it was acutally really tasty and decently priced. This place is really uncharacteristic of isla vista's typical overpriced and mid-quality food. I was really happy to see decent prices and the effort they put into the food. I also got their bingsu and that was very tasty for the price. The guy who took our orders was really sweet, and I plan on going back again to try the omurice. I highly recommend giving this place a try and supporting them as they start up!

YES YES YES! Was hesitant at first about this new place but we decided to bite the bullet and I’m so glad we did. Owner is soo genuine and passionate about the food he is putting out and he has every right! The food was AMAZING and exactly what we wanted. Will definitely be returning! Portions were great, prices were reasonable, and quality was great!

Quite honestly the best asian food I’ve ever had. I got the bulgogi rice bowl which came with kimchi, and the kimchi was the best kimchi I’ve ever had. The bulgogi was also perfect and so so flavorful. There was also a little cup of sauce on the side, I’m not sure what was in it but I put it on the rice and the little salad and wow it was so good. Teddy is also just the sweetest! I’ve only eaten here once so far but I’m already creating a savings account just for this place. I may genuinely cry when I have to leave IV because I will no longer have access to this haven of paradise.
