Junior's Famous Sandwiches

I wish I took a picture but I was hungry. I'm an over the road truck driver and dropped my trailer in the lot behind the store and had a hunger for a BLT. I walked over and was met by some very friendly employees and even though I didn't see it on the menu I asked if they made a BLT. She said"of course." Many of these small sandwich shops make a small sandwich that uses fake bacon. This one was like I make at home. Such a great experience and very conversational. What a great place. Wish I was in Jacksonville more often. Thanks for the great service. As a truck driver we don't get that feeling at truck stops anymore.

Such a cool spot. We love going there for good seafood. I usually get the blackened Mahi and the the Mrs gets the shrimp platter. The fish was seasoned so well and was just breaking apart with my fork. It’s easily one of my fave spots in Jax

Yesterday I was at junior seafood, right next-door and I had the best freaking gumball I’ve ever had in my life first time seafood gumbo was the best and I also had the scallop shrimp and fish platter to die for today. I will be trying to sandwiches next-door.

Classic sandwich shop or diner vibes. Friendly people. Fresh ingredients. First time here and will definitely be back again! Delicious food!

The food here is really good. I have tried their chicken salad and tuna salad so good. Their Steak-N-Sack is their famous sandwich. The service is fabulous. Abraham, Singing Sonia and Haley are great people. If your looking for something Quick and good this is the place to go.

The food and the portions are fantastic. The service can be hit or miss, but still much better than 99% of the places within 5 mi. The atmosphere is a little dingy, but listen I'm there for the food, so don't worry about that.

Great locally owned family business that serves breakfast all day. Abraham was pleasant and accommodating and makes the sandwiches at your request. They have a good selection on sandwiches and some other things such as frito chili pies and homemade desserts and cherry limeade.

Nice change of pace but can't say we would frequent here. For us the location is not ideal, cash only presents a problem (although there is an ATM on site), and the food was just decent. We had a delightful experience with the staff and found them to be extremely helpful and polite however the food simply was not as amazing as we had hoped. That being said, we would definitely recommend giving this place a try. The prices are fair, and it is a unique experience. I simply would not go expecting 5 star food. On a side note - October 17th 2018 is the 40 Year Anniversary and the owner told us that he would be selling anything on the menu for 1$ each to celebrate for the entire day. If you were curious to give this place a try, you may want to swing by on the 17th for a great deal.

Roasting my roast beef sandwich... First time trying and Today's special: 'The Sadness Sandwich.' Apparently, someone forgot to tell the roast beef that it was supposed to be rare and juicy, not overcooked-and-flavorless. 😒 Extra mayo, salt, pepper, and A1 couldn't even save this dry disaster. Maybe it's destined for French dip duty? Do not order the cold roast beef sub. The chili on the other hand, was quite delicious.

Juniors was just alright for me. Abraham was somewhat personable and the business is cash only. The food was nothing really to talk about and the quality of was low. I would not recommend this place.

I was physically ill from this all beef chilly cheese dog. I purchased 2 I ate half of 1 and gave the other to a Co worker, he took 1 bite and spit it out. We decided to dissect it and see exactly what we were eating. The color was off on the all beef dog and the "chili" looked like some sort of picante sauce. I didn't expect the food to taste this way. From the looks of this place it should be delicious. They have over 30 items on their menu. The dining are looked clean and well cared for. The restaurant seemed well staffed and reasonably polite. All signs indicated that I should have had an amazing food experience. But alas, it was not to be. I'm going to return and try something else. The staff did tell me they do not offer any breakfast meats beside pork. The larger staff seemed irritated when I asked and did not mention the all beef hotdogs but the little one did, she seemed a bit more friendly and knowledgeable. I invite someone to go try that all beef chili cheese dog and let me know...post a pic of it too please.

Service was great but they microwaved the precooked burger. Didn't exactly taste the greatest would have rather waited on a fresh one. Tastes kinda like a gas station burger

Second time decided to Try the meatball sandwich thought I might get a bigger portion but they stuffed it in the same small sack and charged me even more money. not sure maybe I was ordering from the kids section!?!?! Anyway once I took a bite, the meat and sauce were cold and the bread was harder than croutons in a salad. SMH! But yet they charge as if they are Top rated. Sorry I would not go back even if it was free.

We found this shop while we were passing through, going to Arby's, on our way to the airport. I like supporting small business, so we figured we'd stop in and check it out. The service was okay. The shop has the word "Famous" in the name, and they definitely aren't giving them away, so I was really looking forward to eating a quality sandwich. The counter setup doesn't allow you to see them building your sandwich, so if you eat here, opening the bag and unwrapping your sandwich will be a surprise. My first bite was mostly dry bread. I figured that the sandwich would get better as I went, but I was wrong. I paid $11+ for a couple slices (literally) of roast beef, a dry sub bun, and some toppings. This is where it might sound like I'm making this up, but I'm not. My wife didn't finish hers because there was a spot of mold on her bread. It's hard to say if she'd eaten any before she'd noticed it. If we'd have been in the shop, we could've said something, but we weren't. We're not from the area, and we were on the way to the airport to return home. In a nutshell, we were disappointed. I was hoping to eat a delicious sandwich and support a local shop. Instead, we paid close to $30 for sandwiches I'd have passed on if they were free. If you stop there, I hope you have a better experience.
