Excellent food, perfectly mixed cocktails and friendly service. Our server was lovely. We had the potato croquette and I had the fried chicken sandwich. Both with the same extra crunchy crust and the special sauce is amazing. It was a little pricey but akin to prices you would find in this caliber restaurant in Philly.

We were pleasantly surprised by our experience with takeout. Our only other experience at Newbolds was last winter, when we had eaten at the restaurant (outside). It was very cold, but the tent, patio heaters, and amazing margaritas kept us warm. And the service was good. But, neither of us were blown away by the food. Fast-forward to last night, and the food was stellar! When I entered the restaurant to pick up my order, it was on the earlier side, so the place was kind of empty. But I was greeted by friendly employees and a really lovely interior which makes me want to hang out at the bar next time. Everything we ordered last night was amazing: the mushroom risotto (might be the best I've ever had); the pork chop with sweet potatoes; the beet salad with goat cheese; and the charred broccoli and cauliflower. We will return!

This is a cute bar with really good pizza and pretty solid appetizers. I’ve been here a couple of times, including during a bar crawl that was crazy busy. Always solid. It’s pretty small and it seems like the staff is mostly focused on the bar and take out orders, but I never had issues getting my food on time and it was always good (this coming from a very impatient person who hates waiting and spending money on subpar food) I feel like the people in these other reviews are probably just annoying and got mad when the server matched their energy lmao

This place went well beyond our expectations. The drinks/cocktails were delicious but the food was next level. Ricotta gnocchi and potato croquettes were enough to be a full meal even though they’re considered starters, but they were both out of this world. We had the risotto and the bacon-onion jam burger for entrees and they were both perfect. Great atmosphere, friendly staff - highly recommend!

A hidden gem. I came here for a date and I got the Risotto with Asparagus, Tomato and Spring Onion. It was creamy, tart (from the tomatoes) but super delicious. One of the best risottos I’ve ever had. My date got the Salmon over Potatoes and Spinach. He seemed to really like the dish. He finished the whole thing! The outside seating was a great option for a gorgeous day outside. They have meter parking in the back. They also have a nice selection of cocktails, wines, and beers. Our server Abby was kind and attentive. I definitely have to come back again to try their burgers and pizzas!

Great experience! The food was delicious...even the brussel sprouts! The staff was friendly and attentive. If I'm back in the area, would definitely go again so I can try the burger that sounded yummy! My favorite thing from this trip was the deep dish style pizza.

Great local spot for some comfort food. Their cocktails are amazing, so they are worth the $14/16 price point. Service has been good the couple times I’ve patronized the restaurant. SN: There is parking in a lot in the back for those who might not know.

Rachel for starters.....THE BEST! Didn't get other staff members names because I sat at the bar! But EVERYTHING flowed meticulously and with almost non-existent wait times! Staff was also very pleasurable and engaged! Highly recommended 👌🏾

Cool modern yet welcoming atmosphere. The Newbolds Original Pizza, Brussell Sprouts and Potato Croquettes are delicious. Service was great and Jen and her team are so friendly and welcoming to their guests.

Went with my daughter and wife and we had a really great dinner. Food was delicious! A nice, well curated, range of wine a beer options. I had an ipa I’ve never had before! We’ll be back again for sure.

Very impressed...the service is as good as anywhere is during these times, as everyone is understaffed. The food, however is excellent! I ordered the scallop dish, to determine if they know how to cook, and this was over the top. I also had the escargot, and it compared to what I had in Europe 4 years ago at a French festival....will definitely be returning!

Was at Newbolds tonight, went with my girlfriend for some drinks and desserts after a home cooked meal. After being immediately greeted, seated and given water. We gave our server our order of cocktails and desserts. A few minutes later a manager came over and very kindly explained that per the governor's orders we were unable to get just drinks and desserts but had to order a meal in order to be served alcohol. She was super nice and I can't imagine what a tough choice that has to be for a restaurant these days, to have to choose to give up sales to follow these guidelines. I completely understood and just ordered the desserts to go. They arrived a couple minutes later and the server informed us that they were on the house with their apologies. Let me tell you, they have nothing to apologize for. They are making sure that they are following all of the covid dining restrictions to the letter and are putting the health and safety of both their staff and customers above all else. (Which also makes me feel better about how well they must be following the health and safety guidelines that are always required). We left there even more impressed with Newbolds, we've eaten there a couple times before and it was always great. If you have the means to support this small local business, please do. We will certainly be back. Keep doing what you're doing guys!

A fave spot, but limited hours, and need to freshen up and expand menu

We had the nicest dinner last night al fresco. Great wine selection and mixed drink selection. Utterly fantastic burger, fish and chicken. Scrumptious butterscotch dessert. Fantastic service. Everyone was masked/distanced appropriately. Such a midweek treat!

We had a great time at Newbolds last evening celebrating my mothers birthday! We enjoyed outdoor seating, nice meals of burgers, the filet and a special kids meal they made for my daughter. Waiter was awesome, drinks were great and the owner stopped by personally to greet us. Very happy to have this little gym in our neighborhood!

Excellent French American bistro menu with a good variety of choices from seafood to Burgers. Nice atmosphere with a great bar that has a terrific whiskey selection. The bartenders are always friendly and so is the wait staff and also attentive but not overbearing. LIVE music on some nights makes it even more pleasant. The hostess and chef are always very accommodating. The wine list is not extensive and could use some additions to make it more desirable ,however, the craft cocktails on the bar menu more than make up for it.

We've eaten here 3 times (takeout once and dine-in twice) and have very much enjoyed each experience. The food is always delicious and the staff is friendly and attentive. They have a great outdoor seating area set up. I'm excited for the future of this restaurant!

Went here on a Tuesday and Wed. for happy hour with some friends, it was great! The food was good, I had a burger and the Brussel sprouts. Easy enough. Also had the duck entree which was good. The drinks and the bartender however were fantastic. The bartender, Reece, on both those nights made some new off the menu tiki drinks that were delicious and beyond that was charismatic and very knowledgeable about them. Def gonna go again sometime.

Picked up the Don Coreaone Pizza. First time here and will not be the last. Very good pizza. Liked the sauce and crust. Very tasty. Place looked cool inside as well. Person at the desk was friendly:)

First time there. We loved it. Had a light dinner.The food, service and atmosphere was awesome. We are planning a party for about 14 people and they have a beautiful room upstairs which is just perfect. Their Manager Jennifer is just so very sweet. Must try when you're in Jenkintown.

They have my favorite breaded crispy chicken dish around! It's a large enough portion for my daughter and I to split. The atmosphere is gorgeous. The modern take on a steam punk industrial vibe is clean and eloquent. OOoooo and The Detroit Style Pizza is also a go-to favorite of ours. Always recommend this spot for friends and family who are visiting.

Have visited a few times and love this place. The Detroit white pizza is excellent. I recommend to ask for it very well done as it comes out super crispy. The drink are excellent, hand crafted Paper Plane and other bar made drinks. Will definitely be back.

By far the best pizza around. It is also great place to get dinner. Kids and adults love the pizza and they have other great menu options. Full bar and great service. Parking lot is behind the building and there are always plenty of spots.

This is one of our neighborhood spots, the whole team and menu keeps us coming back for more. I love the Detroit style pizza specifically either the Zeus or the honey I’m home. The salmon dinner, is also one of my go to as well. Small menu and each item was carefully selected for its great taste.

A must do 5 Star report here! Rode past this place a million times. We always said we will go in there…Today we said let’s go and man what a great experience! The food all top notch!! The service was excellent. The owner Jennifer greeted us upon arrival excellent personality. I can’t say enough great things excellent drinks the salmon, pizza, salad all delicious! This will be a go too place for us from now on. Only downside we didn’t come here sooner. Thank you Jennifer you and your staff are excellent! I will be the first to say I am a harsh critic and well you made the cut! Keep doing great things best wishes to you and the success of your business from my wife and I. Great spot in Jenkintown for good pizzas, salmon, appetizers, drinks, and even a Vegan burger. Consistently good food in a pleasant high end gastropub.

The food and atmosphere are fantastic. My wife and I shared the potato croquettes (crispy outside, smooth middle and the sauce was great). I got the Honey I'm Home pizza (pep pizza with hot honey added, plus goat cheese and arugula) which was 10/10. She got the shrimp scampi which she loved. The old fashioned I got was one of the best I've ever had. This would be an easy 5 ⭐ if the service was better. Everyone was super nice, but there was no dedicated server and you had to flag people down when you were ready to order or wanted a new drink. No one checked up on us the whole time. Still highly recommend but room for improvement IMO.

Delicious food all around, a nice little restaurant. The eggs Benedict was very flavorful with an unexpectedly delicious salad of greens. The leek and potato soup was very good for its color and the steak and eggs was very good. The French toast was very sweet with what seemed to be real Maple syrup and some fresh berries on the side. They had many great choices for brunch drinks such as various juices, Apple cider, various teas, and coffee. However, the service was a bit slow for how small the place was. The steak and eggs came out overcooked the first time. Overall, delicious food and meh-service, but a very good little spot for brunch.

The Brussels were very good. The whie pizza with mushrooms was good...not memorable. I'd like them to get a little more creative with toppings. May try the salmon next time.

We have eaten and done takeout from here countless times and it has been awesome. This time I experienced something I have not before. We did takeout and I showed up at 6:47 PM. When I got there I gave my name and the woman said, “we told you to come at 6:50.” I was shocked, but chalked it up to maybe just a bad night! BTW… I didn’t get my order until 6:58… karma!

We visited Newbolds based on a friend’s recommendation, especially for the pizza. The hot honey pizza with arugula and pepperoni was delicious. A little greasy, but definitely good. The wild mushroom pizza was decent but could’ve used more seasoning like garlic or pepper. Unfortunately, the “libations” were a letdown. For a place that puts libations in the name, the cocktails were poorly executed. My Paper Plane came unstrained in a rocks glass... I’m not picky but pretty sure it should be served strained in a chilled coupe. My husband’s Boulevardier was fine, but the bourbon wasn’t specified, and it was served with tiny ice chunks that melted way too fast. Proper cubed ice should be a given at a place that brands itself around drinks. The food beyond pizza was disappointing. My husband’s burger arrived twenty minutes after our pizzas, was unimpressive, and the fact that cheese was an extra $2 felt ridiculous for an $18 burger. Service was equally underwhelming. Our server never introduced herself, barely checked in, and never asked how our food or drinks were. It was also odd to have the receipt just placed on the table with no folder or clipboard. Seems like a pizza place that had a brilliant idea to turn in to a cocktail bar. Overall it was a mediocre experience. Highly recommend just ordering pizza, grabbing a 4 pack from Human Robot across the street, and hanging at home.

Subpar food, and below average service. Maybe I went on an off night, but the staff could use training on customer service. Had our meal at the bar, and the bartender found his phone much more fascinating than providing us with good service. Nice ambience, such a pity the food and service don’t match.

I’ve come here quite a few times. This will be my last, at least for dine in. My MIL ordered the salmon, which states on the menu it only comes with sauce and spinach. She asked for a side of mashed potatoes too, because there was no carb listed on the menu with the salmon. Our server never told us that the salmon came with potatoes, despite asking, “You want everything that comes with it, right, the sauce and the spinach?” So when her salmon comes out with potatoes on the plate, she asks for the mashed to be taken back. The server got an attitude and argued with her, saying, “So, what, you just want me to throw it out?” As if it’s our business what you do with the food after a customer says they don’t want it. I ordered the fried chicken sandwich, and it was tasteless and the fries were soggy McDonald’s fries. When I told my server I didn’t like the chicken sandwich, he gave me a blank look for about 10 seconds. Then finally said, “Okay.” He then paused for another 10 seconds before offering to get me something else, very clearly not caring that I didn’t like the food while simultaneously taking personal offense. After this lovely exchange, he didn’t come to our table at all to see how anything was, and avoided eye contact for the duration of our meal. Upon exiting the restaurant and walking right by him, he again avoided eye contact and said nothing to us. He made the interaction so uncomfortable, like he had cooked the food himself and owned the restaurant, as if it was a personal blow that we sent food back. Management never bothered checking in with us to see how our experience was. The reason this place is getting 2 stars and not 1 is because the Detroit red pizza is superb. Anything else, good luck.

Walked in. Waited 15 minutes on the couch with kids. Nobody came. Sat down at the table. Then somebody ran over and asked what I’m doing. Recommendation: put a sign by the door that says “please wait to be seated” if that is your expectation. Or in this case “I’m busy on the phone” could work too.

I hate to be this person to leave a negative review, but we spent an hour waiting for 2 pizzas, and then our order was incorrect. The server blamed the delay on takeout orders when people around us got food before us. Just be honest that you forgot to put our food in. And the fact that we waited that long and it was the wrong pizza, we weren’t trusting to send it back and have things handled in a timely matter. Also we got the potato croquettes as an app, and they were cold in the middle. That should have been our sign. Don’t go here, you won’t have a good experience for food or service.

Had dinner party for 8 and not only did it take awhile for someone to take our drink order and food order it took almost 2 hours to get our food. This is the last time I will be going here. The pizza was under cooked and tasteless. This used to be the best pizza. They seemed very unorganized and lacking in customer service. I had out of town guests and told them this was a great place to eat. Talk about disappointing! Sad to say never going back.

I'm sorry I have to write this because I had high hopes. The start of my experience was great, the place is cute, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. We were seated right away and was able to put in our drink orders and then food. I must say the food is absolutely delicious but the service was anything but. At first I didn't notice but my friend did right away, for us things were different than the others around us, our time seemed "rushed", are you done, would you like that boxed...as if they wanted us out. Then my friend ordered a drink 5 minutes after we saw the waiter bring out a drink to someone else. He told her the bar closed at 9pm, the time was now 9:34....but you brought the other person a drink out at 9:29 so it didn't add up. When she asked for the manager, the manager appeared with an attitude and not too happy to rectify the situation. Voices were raised by both my friend and the manager- extremely unprofessional. She couldn't care less we were paying customers. To wrap this up, great food, lousy and demeaning service. NEVER AGAIN!!!!

Their pizza is good but their restaurant area is horrible. Food selection is small and entrees are way overpriced for the quality. I ordered a chicken cutlet with arugula and got a very hard piece of chicken breast that I couldn’t even cut with a knife, and it was over fried. On the menu it wasn’t mentioned that cutlet was deep fried either. My husbands scallops were raw inside. The worst was our sever. She was very careless, never apologized when I asked her to take my entree back. She should not be a waitress.

I have gotten takeout and dined in at this resturant multiple times in the past. I previosly felt like the pizza was good and other menu items decent enough. This was the four time I have dined in there and I had one of the worst dining experience with the service. We arrived on time for our 8:30pm reservation, a reservation made a whole 1.5 hours before their closing time, which should be enough time for 6 adults to eat pizza, especially when there are only a handful of tables filled in the restaurant, so it was mostly empty. The waitress seemed like she did not want to be there. My friend asked a question about a menu item. It was a salad. However, the item was split in two lines with all the salad ingredients on one line and the dressing one the second line. So all my friend had seen was lemon dressing $12, and he asked what it was and why it was $12. This made the waitress upset. It wasn't until after she described it that we realized the two lines described the salad. I guess since she didn't like our stupid questions due to our confusion with reading the menu, she had to slam drink glasses on the table for the cocktail and two beers that were ordered. Either way, we order wings and 3 pizza pies. The wings came out pretty quickly, but the pizza took over an hour. Not once did anyone in the restaurant come over to address the issue before it became an issue. When we asked, they kept telling us a few more minutes it would be right out, and by they I mean the other wait staff and bartender because our waitress never came back over to our table. People who came in after us got their food before us. Mind you, I have order take out from here at least 2-3 other times, and the pizza took 20-30 minutes tops for multiple pies on a busy night. Remember what I said at the beginning of this review it was not a busy night. The kicker is they seemed annoyed that we were still in the restaurant eating so close to closing, but our food wasn't served to us until 9:40pm. We didn't see our waitress again until we asked for the check and boxes because we still had a whole pie & a half left since we didn't feel welcome to finish eating there. The best part, the pizza wasn't even good. The quality was worse than the previous times I had it.
