Wow! I mean Wow!!! What a fantastic restaurant. I sure wish I had found it earlier. The food is "authentic Mexican ", as advertised, and as described by the staff. I'll take their word as I've never been to Mexico. I would describe it as incredible. It's got all the flavor without the fat while also not being drowned in cheese. I had the Enchiladas Rojas o Verdes. The Wife had shrimp tacos. The were artwork, I had to take pictures. I always order chicken Enchiladas as my benchmark. These were the best I ever had. My wife said the same thing about her tacos. Service was attentive without being invasive. The guitar background music was sublime. How could a Fulshear restaurant be so good it was almost scary.
Delicious and authentic Mexican food. The food quality and taste are excellent. Reasonable portions and pricing. The music and general ambience of the restaurant is peacefully and enjoyable. Very family friendly. One thing that would take this place to the next level is to have handmade tortillas.
Had an excellent lunch at Ferso’s. Everything from the moment we walked in was on point. The atmosphere was welcoming, the service was fast and friendly, and the food was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every bite tasted authentic, and the portions were perfect for a satisfying midday meal. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend Freso’s if you’re looking for a delicious and reliable lunch spot.
Great Mexican restaurant out in Katy off FM 1093. It has all the standbys such as enchiladas, refried beans, fajitas. But it has what my wife and I refer to as a Mexico City type of twist. It’s not pure Tex Max – it’s upscale Mexican food. On our recent visit, Red Snapper Vera Cruz was the special that night. Great place. Great quality! Family owned and run!
Ferso’s is a fantastic spot for authentic Mexican food. Everything we tried was fresh and full of flavor - from the tender birria tacos to the flautas. The homemade chips, guacamole, and fresh salsas were a standout and tasted incredibly fresh. Portions are generous, prices are very reasonable, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. On top of that, the staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel right at home. This is absolutely the best Mexican food in Houston - definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!
Absolutely loved our visit to Ferso Mexican Restaurant! 🌟 We came here with family, and it truly did not disappoint. As someone with celiac disease, I was pleasantly surprised by the variety of options available. The owner took the time to personally go over all the dishes I could enjoy, making me feel not just welcome, but genuinely cared for. The highlight of the meal was definitely the ceviche it was hands down the best I’ve ever had! Fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned, it was a dish I can't recommend enough. Overall, Ferso is an amazing place with a warm atmosphere, attentive service, and delicious food. Can’t wait to come back! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience! 🌮✨
A Gem in Fulshear area. Great Mexican food, like eating in Mexico City. We had the Cochinita Pibil Torta and flan for dessert. Their chips are rustic and made fresh and salsa was deeelcious! Will definitely return for more 😍
A hidden GEM!!! We have been looking for a go to Mexican food spot and this is it!! From a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff to the delicious variety of foods, you couldn’t find a better spot for the whole family to enjoy. Pictured are the tacos al pastor and the enchilada trio special that I barely managed to snap a picture of before they were devoured. Each bite was packed with mouthwatering flavor! We had the entire family, kid and grandparents, with all kinds of palate preferences and each person found an entree to enjoy. The servings were generous and the menu had incredible variety. We will absolutely be back!!
Wow, definitely recommend! Great authentic Mexican food. Great drinks and service! Fernando took great care of us. Please visit and support this place so they stick around! Will definitely be one of our go-to places going forward. Update: August 2025 - still awesome. We try to go here at least every other week. The birria plate and the birria enchiladas are amazing. Ferso’s margarita is great too.
So, I just found this gem — it’s a Katy Mills transplant that made it to Fulshear/Richmond/Katy in August 2024. So glad they got out of the mall because this cuisine is several tiers above any food you could ever find at a mall. Staff is super friendly, helpful and attentive. They are also very knowledgeable about the menu. Surprisingly, finding authentic Mexican cuisine in the Houston area can be a bit of a chore, but Ferso’s delivers while firing on all cylinders. Their birria tacos are hands down the best I’ve had and their consommé that is served with them is phenomenal. Queso fundido is delicious and the flautas were great as well. Best black beans I’ve had in a while. If you’re looking for a south of the border fix in this part of town this place is a no-brainer. Come check it out. Delicious.
Okay, I saw this place I think at first in the Katy Mills mall, but I’m so glad they made there way out here. The flavor of the dishes at this place is on point!!! I’m not kidding, these spices are exactly what my taste buds didn’t know they needed! Many hats off to Sophia the owner. Gaby and Victoria were the awesome friendly staff who took care of our dining needs. We ordered Horchatas as our beverage, and started with the blanco queso to complement the red salsa. Thick and creamy is how I’d describe it, and I like the thickness of the chips served here. I ordered the Verde Chicken enchiladas, the chicken was seasoned quite flavorful and plenty of sauce. Rice and black refried beans accompanied the enchiladas. My husband got the alambres which were served in a pile on the plate, despite the plating the meat was very soft and tender to the bite. We finished off our meal with a sweet treat, the flan. Very creamy and a bit thicker in consistency than I’ve had before but not certain what to expect as this is a Veracruz style dishes. Nonetheless, it was so delicious and I’m for certain coming back to try the flautas. We ordered off the lunch and we both left stuffed, couldn’t imagine the dinner portions. I legit wanted to lick the plate once I was done, I highly recommended!
My husband and I have been waiting for the new location to open in Richmond. VERY CLEAN and wide open space. The food was super yummy and fresh. I got too excited to eat and forgot to take the photos of the tacos al pastor. My husband and I both had the same thing. I love the pineapple they add to the side - it was stuffed FULL of al pastor. The chips and salsa were good as was the Queso Fundido with chorizo. We’ll definitely go back. The owner Fernando was very kind we really enjoyed talking to him!
Nestled in Richmond, Ferso’s Mexican Cuisine delivers an authentic Mexican dining experience with a welcoming ambiance and delicious food. On our recent visit, we enjoyed their veggie and chicken enchiladas, while our little one had nuggets and fries. To top it off, we tried their mocktails, which turned out to be a surprising highlight of the meal. The veggie enchiladas were packed with fresh, well-seasoned vegetables, wrapped in soft tortillas, and smothered in a rich, flavorful sauce. The chicken enchiladas were just as satisfying, featuring tender, juicy chicken with a perfect balance of spices. Both dishes came with rice and beans, making for a hearty and comforting meal. For the kid’s meal, the chicken nuggets and fries were crispy, golden, and well-cooked—a great option for little ones who prefer familiar flavors. A delightful surprise was Ferso’s mocktails, which were refreshing and expertly crafted. Whether fruity and tropical or citrusy and zesty, they complemented the meal beautifully, offering a great non-alcoholic option for those looking to enjoy a flavorful drink. The service was warm and attentive, and the restaurant’s atmosphere made it a great spot for a relaxed family meal. Ferso’s Mexican Cuisine is definitely a place we’ll be returning to for both the food and the fantastic drinks!
AUTHENTIC Veracruz / Central Mexican food. NOT Tex-Mex. If you crave the type of Mexican food you get in Arizona, New Mexico, western Colorado, and parts of California… you can get it right here. We just got back from AZ and this food is even better than some of the restaurants there. The owner and his wife share their family recipes at a great location that is easy to get to. Please tell all your friends!! This place is going to get popular fast!
Wow!! We are so pleased we finally got to try this place! We have been reading all the reviews for so long and now that they have a place near our house we may be going here a lot! Tonight the weather was already getting bad right before Winter storm Enzo hit so, we had the restaurant to ourselves. The owner, Fernando, met us the door with a smile and welcomed us! He was super nice and went over all the different menu items with us. We started off with the queso fundido with peppers and mushrooms! It was so delicious and served with really fresh warm tortillas! We then moved on to the main course. I had the enchiladas verdes which were absolutely fantastic! The tomatillo sauce was outstanding and the grilled chicken filling was super flavorful! My wife had the birria enchiladas which were also super delicious! All of the food is traditional Mexican food, not Tex-mex, and flavors and we love it all! We topped it all off with the flan for dessert and it was superb! We love the atmosphere and Gabby who served us was really nice! We will be back! Highly recommend!
This place is so good! Our entire family loves Ferso’s. Delicious Mexican cuisine and every time we try something different we enjoy it. Our daughter loves the Birria Taco Plate. We always get the Queso Fundido appetizer. Their chips and salsa are different and so yummy. Their restaurant is very nice and clean and has a good atmosphere. Owner and staff are friendly! It is our favorite local restaurant for Mexican food. :)
Tex mex has its place but when looking for authentic this place is a MUST! The Mole was rich in flavor, we devour the azteca soup before we realize to take a photo lol along with the birria tacos it was that good. The mango habanero sauce was sweet and not over spicy. The service was amazing. Will be definitely coming back! UPDATE! They have move from Katy Mills. They a little further away but still worth it! Have a listing coming up in creek side ranch lol and I was excited for photo day because I knew exactly where we going for lunch! Food was Consistent & delicious like always! Thank you!!! Forgot. For dessert the Plátanos Flamiados is a must. Didn’t even take a photo of them lol
Do you know how hard it is to find good authentic Mexican food to my standards? Super hard! Food brought me back to getting la chancla thrown at me in Mexico. It tastes so good. There’s absolutely nothing bad I can say about this place. To top it off, they don’t use the same oil to fry everything in. That’s a huge win for those who have shellfish allergies like I do.
We tried Ferso's for the first time on a Saturday night. It wasn't very busy, but we'd gotten a couple of great recommendations, so ventured in. Our son, who tends to be picky, LOVED the cochinita pibil torta. He wished there was more of it, which makes a good segway to... The chips and salsa are really good, BUT not free and there are NO refills. Our daughter enjoyed her shrimp tacos. It should be noted that tacos run about $5 to $6 EACH, and they do NOT come with the expected rice and beans, etc. I had the carnitas tacos, and they were o.k. Hubby had the birria enchiladas and said they were quite good! But, the Mexican rice was left uneaten. It's a STAPLE, please don't neglect it. It should be flavorful and memorable, like the salsa. We ordered an al pastor quesadilla for the table, and we're surprised that it was three small pieces. For the price it wasn't worth it. It was a bit greasy, too. In all, we may return for the cochinita pibil (which is hard to get right ✅️) and the birria enchiladas.
They are just opening and I think working out some kinks. We had lunch here on a Sunday at 2pmish. There was one older couple here. The staff is really nice, they want you know it's a traditional Mexican restaurant, not texmex. The place is clean the music choice is odd for a Mexican restaurant. It was 80s elevator music. Heart, Billy Jole, stuff like that. The food is where I think they need work. The tacos were flavorless Al Pastor and beef. The signature salad sparse on the chicken. The prices were pretty high for the quanity and quality of food. Three good tacos for $16, okay. What I got, nope. I hope they figure it out soon or they will not last in this crowded market.
We ordered online and when we arrived for pickup, three separate staff couldn't find our order due to someone misspelling our last name on the actual order (somehow). The rice and beans are pretty standard fare, nothing special. The plain flour tortillas were completely inedible. They smelled like plastic and tasted about the same. Maybe we went on a bad night but I'm certain we won't risk it again.
