Absolutely superb. What a lucky find this was. Food is genuinely 5 star, service is impeccable with really friendly and professional staff. For anyone in our around Kingsbridge, we would definitely recommend a visit (especially for the ham hock, and steak sandwich!)
If you are in Kingsbridge and feeling hungry call into Seven Stars. Food was cooked to perfection , staff extremely friendly and accommodating, great atmosphere. Very clean, bright and airy. I had trout with prawns, super fresh and plenty of vegetables. We were a table of four, every plate was empty. None of us could find a single fault. Apart from what to actually order, lots of choice and all sounding delicious. You won’t be disappointed. Dog friendly too. On the next table I noticed a small child had been served , bread sticks, carrot and cucumber sticks to enjoy whilst everyone was waiting for food. Fantastic, healthy touch.
Wow a fantastic Sunday roast beef. Lovely and pink, great selection of vegetables. Very tasty. Cauliflower cheese was just as good as mine. Ok it might have been better! Service was fantastic! Highly recommend. See you soon!!
This is the second time I have been here in the past 6 months and there's a reason for it, service is great food is great atmosphere is great. It's only major flaw this time for me was getting a Pint of Guinness in a Timmy Taylor's glass. Was still a good pint but yeah 😅
Came here to do some work, McLaren is the manager and he was great... Friendly and professional with a great attitude towards the hospitality industry... He takes great pride in the work he is doing. The pub was looking great as you can see from the photos.. And what a beautiful location down by the South coast where the weather is usually much nicer than up north. Huge amount of outside seating but very limited carparking on site Serving food, drinks and coffee Ideal for those hot summer days 😎
The service and the food was amazing! The owner came to speak with us and had such a kind demeanour. The food quality was outstanding. The pork belly and the steak melted in my mouth and the Arancini was rich and flavourful with mushrooms. It was my birthday and they bought out a scoop of ice cream with a candle and sang happy birthday and we had a little plaque saying ‘happy birthday’ with my name. Such a great experience on our holiday. If we are ever back in the area we will be sure to book again.
The Seven Stars is a credit to Kingsbridge. It's the kind of pub that feels like a cornerstone of the community, offering fantastic food, great drinks, and a genuinely friendly atmosphere.
Having been to them all, I’d definitely suggest that this is the best pub in Kingsbridge. Such a warm and friendly welcome, from the initial call for a reservation, right up to the bill, with lovely bar service in between. (And dog friendly…say no more!!) Food quality and presentation was certainly beyond usual pub fare and very well priced. Good selection of beers, not the usual rack of fizzy lager, and great selection of everything else; the restaurant wine choice was also very good, and we plumped for an excellent Albariño. But above all, the staff were wonderful; we were looked after perfectly throughout our visit, and will certainly recommend, plus would visit again when we’re in Kingsbridge. Thank you to all. Jon and Linda
Had a lovely Sunday Roast here today on the outside patio area. Loved the new chairs and generally the place looked really great and newly updated! Menu looks really good and we’re Already planning our meals for next time! Also our server Alpha was just the sweetest and so attentive. Service from everyone was top notch!
Very nice pub in the centre of Kingsbridge. Lots of tables outside plus plenty of room indoors too. Nice, varied menu and excellent service. We had baked camembert for two. A little more sourdough toast would have been good but otherwise very nice. Then we had fish and chips and grilled sole - both excellently prepared and served. We'd had an ice cream earlier so didn't have dessert. With two Aperol spritzes and a half of bitter, the bill came to £66. We wanted to give a tip but couldn't with our card. Management should rectify this as soon as possible. A very pleasant experience and well worth a visit.
Very nice staff and good food. The fish & chips and burger were delicious. In the kids menu would have been good to have another pasta option. Kids loved the tables you can draw on. We returned twice in the week we were in Devon. Thanks
After reading the great reviews we decided to book for Sunday Lunch. So glad we did as the food was amazing! Staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend adding the cauliflower and cheese .
Really friendly staff, beautiful food. Steak and ale pie is a must. beautiful Sunday roast sirloin beef .
Lovely pub. Great service and food. Not too expensive. Good sized portions. Lots of seating inside and out. Probably the best place to eat in Kingsbridge! Will definitely return one day.
I liked it! We all really liked it. A lot! The food was delishus, and the service was top notch. Definitely going back when we come back here for a visit
The best pub I have sampled in Kingsbridge. “If I could givs sevens stars”, I would. Pardon the pun, haha. The beer was lovely. The atmosphere was warm and friendly. The owner was greeting guests at the entrance and exit. I can't recommend it enough. The seven stars blows the rest of the pubs in Kingsbridge out of the water. The only pub I did not feel intimidated walking into. The only comment for improvement tables was a bit sticky.
Amazing Sunday dinner beef melted in your mouth, plenty gravy too 10/10 from me
Fantastic place to eat..... Easy booking process.... A warm welcome on arrival for us and the dogs....... Shown to our reserved table complete with our name rather than just the standard reserved sign. Drink order taken and time given to make a decission from amazing menu.... We both went for the roast as it was a lazty sunday 😁.... The pork and the beef cooked to perfection. Along with the roasties and veg.... Everything was piping hot.. Opted for the side of Cauliflower cheese with no dissapointment............ I didnt have enough room for the pudding that caught my eye the morrello cherry Sundae...... 😔... Next time 😁..... Thank you for making the doggies so welsome.... Would highly recommended.
Great food .nice friendly bar staff .chef was great she a great meal with my daughter.
We are holidaying in the area and booked Sunday lunch. We arrived on time and ordered a drink at the bar and taken to our table. We only had the one course and we both had the roast beef and it didn't disappoint it was very good, sadly it left us no room for dessert. The staff were polite and attentive there were dogs with some diners and the diners were well behaved and the dogs to . My wife had a class of red wine and I had a pint of real ale which was very good.We would recommend a visit to the Seven Stars.
An outstanding pub with great good. The first time was an evening meal and the chicken, ham and leek pie was lovely. We went again on the last day of our visit yo Kingsbridge for Sunday lunch. We were not disappointed, it was great. Both occasions were made all the better for the fantastic service accompanying lovely food and drink.
Attended for Sunday lunch without booking, received a friendly greeting and went out of their way to find six of us a table. Service food and atmosphere were excellent as were the staff. Highly recommended
Had a few meals in this pub over the years . Really good food and a nice atmosphere
We had a fabulous meal at the Severn Stars. The tempura vegetables were delicious and the lamb and pie were really tasty and very well presented. The service were excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful and efficient. I would highly recommend.
We nipped in for a quick lunch after visiting the dentist. Both of us decided on the Ploughman's because we hadn't had one for years, it's almost a retro-dish now. We were certainly not disappointed, tasty bread, ham, cheese and an interesting piccalilli. The salad didn't come with any dressing but they brought me some olive oil when requested. It was an enjoyable meal.
Went in on a Friday afternoon. Had to wait 30 mins because they had lots of reservations. When we got our food it looked amazing, we got the burger, Vietnamese curry and calamari as a side. The presentation was incredible and the taste was even better. And I don't usually like squid. Highly recommend eating here. You won't be disappointed. Love to the team for the effort they put in.
Owner very helpful and kind. Food was very nice and the atmosphere was great!!
Great surroundings. Excellent food which we all enjoyed very much. Super friendly staff and not over busy. We spent a leisurely 3 hours eating drinking and chatting without being hurried away.
Fitted us in at short notice, great food, with a good choice & not expensive. Wine list best I have ever seen in a pub, easy to decide what was a good choice. Service excellent, chef/owner South African, which tells us it should be good & well run, which it was.
Our meal was great! Food, service, and staff all 5*s
Fabulous Food, Friendly helpful staff, in a lovely atmosphere. The Roast beef was superb, great choice on the menu. Great value for money , good quality food. 10 stars for the Seven Stars. !
Great local pub! Food, atmosphere and service are always exceptional and very accommodating! Fantastic for live sports or just a quiet pint!!
Absolutely amazing roast dinner. It was truly delicious. Great all round pub with very friendly and helpful staff. Will definitely eat there again when we next visit Kingsbridge. Good outside area if the weather is good too.
Oh my goodness this place is amazing, best pub we have been in for along time. The food is delicious, well presented. Everywhere is nice and clean. The staff are so friendly and helpful. Thankyou so much for a great lunch, the baby Guinness sundae was Devine. 10/10 from us 🙌
as a regular visitor to the seven stars, i would like to contradict the last google review that i have just read, in regards to its ‘poor choice of ales’. i do believe that having TT, bass, and doom bar is a broad selection of ales, as well as having local larger (devon rock), 2 craft lagers/IPA’s on draft, as a good choice of beer rather than a ‘poor choice’. in regards to no atmosphere, i can only assume that this customer visited the pub during the afternoon hours when the pub is generally quieter. i have no reason to disagree with them that the warehouse is a great venue as a frequent visitor to their establishment. all i can say is that the seven stars, in my option is nothing less than a 5 star review.
Really great exerience. Food was incredible and the staff were great
Lovely pub and just the place to find when you’re on holiday. Pleased we were able to take our dog and the food was delicious. Friendly staff and will recommend to friends when in the area.
What can I say? The duck salad was out of this world. The taste and presentation was worthy of much higher price point. I’m surprised it all hadn’t gone! My wife’s Korean chicken burger was beautifully cooked and still moist. We’ll be back !
Yet again excellent food, lovely staff thousand percent perfection
I have popped in with my mum and 2 dogs and had lunch. It was perfect and freshly cooked. If I lived closer I would be in here all the time. The girls serving us were so attentive and very friendly. Could not have had a better time.
Great food, grest service and great atmosphere. Came here with my partner. If we had more time in the area we would definitely come here again. Highly recommend the lamb
What a fantastic pub! Warm, welcoming atmosphere and great beer. The staff are superb and the food is delicious! If you're looking for all that is great about a traditional English pub, this is it!
Just taken our friends to the Stars for a Sunday Roast! Absolutely stunning food cooked to perfection with the usual fantastic service from Neal and his team! Our friends were blown away as were we! Highly recommend you try it! Excellent value for money and plenty of meat and veg!
Really outstanding meal in here on Monday night. I had the burger which was perfectly cooked and very juicy, and my wife had the soft shell crab on a brioche bun which she said was amazing. Very nice serving staff and the place was pretty busy. Definitely recommend.
We booked at the Seven Stars for a small Christmas celebration on Saturday night When we arrived the pub was busy but we quickly got served drinks and found a table. A staff member came over to tell us our table was ready, right on time. We had a decorated table in the conservatory which was quiet enough for us to all chat, as we were only a small party. The staff were very attentive and checked we were happy, needed any more drinks and to let them know when we were ready for our food. When we ordered the food it came out promptly and was so delicious. I had a starter of mushrooms(a variety, which was great) and Stilton on sour dough. It was a perfect size portion for me and tasted and looked freshly cooked. I had the Christmas dinner which was delicious, tender turkey, crispy roasts and some delicious veg, not just carrots and sprouts, red cabbage which was great, creamy leeks, creamed sprouts with bacon and roasted carrots. The staff kept checking on us and were all very aware of allergies we had mentioned when booking. A great experience and l am booked to go back in a few weeks and l am already looking forward to it. Well done Seven Stars and Happy Christmas, Tracey 🎄
My husband and I have been visiting this pub for a number of years and as 'outsiders' the staff have always been welcoming and friendly. The food here is excellent, from their Sunday roast to their delightful shredded beef salad. The decision to relocate to the area was greatly assisted by the draw of fantastic food 😁
What can I say. Don't judge a book by its cover. I'm 61 year old and never have I had a lamb meal like it. Just wow it was amazing and and a child British pub. Do yourself a culinary favour.
My daughter booked a table for 4 for the evening of the 30/12 for her partners birthday. When we arrived (table was 6.45pm) so it wasn’t a late booking but it was already very busy. We were sat down and given menus and I asked the waitress (Ellie I think) for a gluten free menu so she advised me to check on her device which I did. There wasn’t a huge choice but I didn’t say anything as I really dislike making a fuss about my intolerance when eating out. She advised us of dishes that were no longer available that evening for everyone on the table which although we were disappointed we accepted as it was between Christmas and New Year. My husband made another choice along with my daughter and her partner and then I asked for a little help with my limited menu. She checked with the kitchen as the only starter that was available for myself was a breadcrumbed terrine which the kitchen said I could have without the breadcrumbs but after checking again with the kitchen, there was no gluten free bread so they were offering me a terrine with nothing to eat it with! The poor waitress was very embarrassed and we were very sympathetic towards her. I then asked which gluten free main course was available and looking at the menu it was again a choice of 1 dish (apart from steaks which I don’t eat) and that was salmon without the sauce or noodles so I asked if I could have chips with this and was told yes but the kitchen weren’t happy sending out a piece of salmon with chips as it didn’t look good! We decided to leave and go elsewhere as the thought of eating a terrine with no bread, toast or crackers and then salmon and chips was not appealing at all. My daughter had called when making the reservation and advised of my intolerance and asked if there would be choices for me or if it would be a problem and was assured it was absolutely fine. We eat out in the area quite a bit and everywhere else we have eaten does not make it a problem to have a dietary requirement and always have lots of choice and certainly never make me feel that I’m being difficult! The poor waitress had to check with the kitchen at least 4/5 times to see if they were willing to offer anything that was slightly appetising. She completely understood when we told her we had decided to go somewhere else, we paid for our drinks and left. We then went to the fabulous Indian Restaurant just down from there, the Maha-Bharat who couldn’t be more helpful and offered me many dishes to choose from. They treated us exactly how all the other venues in the area do and it highlighted how poor the experience at the Severn Stars had been. Very disappointed to receive such service for a food intolerance that isn’t a choice!!
No atmosphere. Poor choice of ales . Just round corner the warehouse tap house much better welcoming
Pretty disappointing experience at Seven Stars in Kingsbridge. I completely understand places get busy, but some of this just felt like basic hospitality was missing. When we sat down in the restaurant, we were told we couldn’t sit there unless we asked first and until the waitress removed the cutlery. It felt quite abrupt and awkward especially as this is fairly basic customer service stuff. The WiFi also didn’t work, and even after asking multiple times, it was never sorted. Again, feels like something pretty fundamental these days. It’s clearly a popular spot and in a great location, but the attitude and service really let it down for us. We ended up going to The Hermitage over the road, which was far more welcoming and had working WiFi.
