I was looking for a place to work and grab some caffeine in La Jolla. This came up in my research of the area and WOW I love this place for its view, proximity to the beach, and the kindness of the people. I got a Honey B Latte (hot with almond milk) and it came to about the now usual ~$7. I ate at the place given that the free, nearby street parking is limited to two hours - I wanted to make the most of it. Service was kind and direct. There are a lot of different variations of coffee drinks you can choose from alongside smoothies! The baked goods looked delicious as well so someday I hope to come back and try. Early in the morning of a regular weekday, I was surprised by the number of families with young children who came to this place, which I think just goes to show how wonderful the cafe is. There are a good amount of inside seating, albeit it may be a little crowded the further back you go. There are outlets and WiFi that is provided. Be sure to check out the compliment jar - take one and leave one! I thought the cups they used were so cute and found myself taking a video for their design. I’ve heard the beans are also quite good - there seems to be a seasonal menu that goes around so if you’re a passionate coffee bean lover, please check this place out! God bless you all

Overall experience was very good. Good customer services, really good coffee. I just had to wait for 15 minutes to order the coffee because I there was a very long line. I ordered the vanilla bean latte and the sweetness was perfect. Thanks for the recommendation to a cashier girl!

Nice coffee shop. Great atmosphere. Delicious coffee. They have some creative sweetened espresso drinks. The only downside is that the line is so long... It's a very popular place.

Bird Rock Coffee is a great little café that serves up some of the best coffee in the area. The baristas at Bird Rock Coffee truly stand out for their friendliness and expertise, ensuring that each cup of coffee is crafted with care. Although the shop is usually bustling and you might find yourself waiting 10-15 minutes for your coffee (when busy), the wait is absolutely worth it. The quality of the coffee makes this cafe a must-visit for any coffee lover. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, make sure to stop by this adorable shop for a truly enjoyable coffee experience.

This is my favorite coffee spot in La Jolla / PB beach area. I really like the taste of the oat milk latte and the relaxed atmosphere in the coffeeshop. I love grabbing a coffee there after surfing in Tourmaline. It’s also a great place to work remotely, just the WiFi is not very stable sometimes 🙈 My highlight beside the coffee is the small jar with little notes you can take and leave. Such a great idea. Maybe you grab my note next time 😉 Have fun with it.

Best coffee in San Diego in my opinion. From the entrance to the decorations, adding the aroma of coffee coming from the bar, you could immediately feel the vibe they’re trying to bring you. We ordered hot vanilla latte and iced original latte. They tasted so good that we decided to buy two bags of their coffee beans. The crew were really friendly and patiently explained to us the beans they had. Felt really welcomed.

Probably one of the best coffee roasters in the world. I have been buying their beans for over 20 years. They used to sell beans by the pound. After the other roasters started selling 12 oz bags Bird Rock eventually started doing that also. When Bird Rock started selling 10 ounce bags I started giving most of my business to other local roasters. I get that prices have gone up. I would rather they just raise the prices. Also, when you buy a bag they always offer a free cup of drip coffee. I typically only drink one cup of caffeinated coffee per day. Since there is no decaf drip coffee I ask for a decaf americano. They used to allow this substitution. Not any more.

Very confused at all the great reviews - perhaps my experience was a fluke. But overall, very mediocre, plus a healthy dose of uninspired customer service with passive aggressive attitude. - The lighter, overly acidic roast didn’t work as an espresso based drink. As a shot perhaps it’s better. - The young lady working the register charged me for a large latte that I corrected when I was told the total. I had clearly asked for a small. - Service across all 3 people working this particular morning (Monday) was poor. Not just to me but to a few others as well. I get that it gets busy but if you can’t handle a busy morning rush I suggest you work somewhere else.

Great coffee shop- baristas are amazing, but their wifi has had issues this whole year. I would recommend going someplace else if you need to study or do work.

Based on the other reviews, my experience was uncommon, but by I can only comment on my one visit. Everything was great except for the most important thing: my cappuccino tasted terrible. The coffee was over-fermented and every sip had a strong ethanol aftertaste.

Burly Rock’s coffee is too acidic and the price hits almost six dollars before tip. Nothing special . For an in-house roaster, the quality doesn’t match the cost. Hard to stay loyal when the value keeps slipping.

Went today to the store for coffee. Was highly uncomfortable by the unwelcoming environment. The interior is full of political signaling. Flags and political stances on the walls. Close minded workers. If you support diversity of thought- stay away

Got a soy decaf cappuccino and honey b latte. Sour coffee flavor. The honey helps cover that up. Again. I’m a decaf non-dairy coffee drinker. But I had better. So I say. Past reviews are overrated.
