Soooo good and juicy! Flavor punches left and right, knock out BBQ sauce with an authentic barnyard mechanic ambiance. Video arcade for kiddos. Plenty o' parking! The beef brisket and short ribs are so tender perfectly smoked and the rotisserie chicken with rosemary made me wanna go plant some rosemary. The elote, sooo sweet and good, cowboy cavier, do yourself a favor and get it. Everything, great plus full bar, sports. Delicious
I don’t care what controversy this gets. I been here a few times brisket is very good love the spicy marinade they have for the chicken. But God bless em that beef rib was better than the one I got at terry blacks in Dallas. I didn’t even dare to put any sauce on it. My wife and I’s $200 dinner plans didn’t go as planned an we pulled up here. Got more food than we could eat and ended up in a food coma for less than $100. I actually was up most the night thinking about how it was better than the one I got at terry blacks and I think about flying out there at least once a week. I hope it’s the same next time I go cuz I’ve never wrote a review for food before but damn I just had to.
This is hands down my favorite BBQ restaurant. The entire menu is amazing. I recently came here for SD Restaurant Week and the portions were such a good value for the price. If you’re in east county and looking for a good date night spot, look no further. Also, the service is awesome here!
A group of us ate there on a Thursday...all day happy hour with great prices. I had the brisket tacos and they were delicious. I had enough to bring home. Our server was friendly and attentive, the place was packed but the food was delivered quickly. The best brisket I have had in awhile.
Absolutely the best bbq place I've been to in California. Been there 5 times. The brisket is amazing. Tender, flavorful. The ribs are fall off the bone tender. My wife loves the meatloaf which has brisket in it. The pizza was 8 out of 10. Good prices too. Not cheap. But fair for the amount of food served. Sides were very good as well.
The food was yummy. I highly recommend the chicken strips and fries. Their in-house-made ranch dressing has been living rent free in my head for about a week now. Our server was personable and kind, and the vibe was vibing. This place would be great for families or a date night. Lots of points for being Furbaby Friendly. Definitely recommend!
The service was great. We loved the food and drinks. The indoor/outdoor seating is awesome! Love the vibe and atmosphere. Definitely would recommend to others, and we plan on going back with our daughter soon! If going during busy hours, parking is limited in front of the restaurant, but there is some street parking close by.
Tried Smokey and the Brisket BBQ for the first time and was really impressed! We ordered the brisket sliders, meatloaf, and cornbread all very flavorful and satisfying. The brisket sliders were smoky and tender, and the meatloaf had that homestyle feel with a BBQ twist. The cornbread was a nice touch slightly sweet with a good crumb. But honestly, the highlight of the visit was the service. Emily was fantastic, attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. She checked in at just the right times and made great recommendations. Service like that makes a big difference and definitely adds to the experience! Overall, great meal and even better hospitality. Will definitely be back!
What a delightful find! Restaurant, bar and game room! Food was very good. We both had their grilled Salmon over mashed potatoes. Very tasty but only comments is a few green beans would have made that plate perfect for the price. They do offer sides for an extra charge. Recommend you try this out!
I was deciding between pizza and bbq. But, when I came here it was a nice surprise that I could have both!! The burnt end pizza matched my fantasy!! Briskets were also amazing. The server was friendly and helpful. Plenty of parking with an arcade on the bag that you can do pool with your friends for only a buck. I would definitely come back with a group of friends.
Great food, great service, and a great name. The wife and I will definitely be back. The Caesar salad started things off a bit strangely - it came out warm and emblazoned with grill marks. My wife is a bit of a traveling Caesar salad connoisseur, who orders these with just about every meal, and this crispy variety was a first for both of us. She did not much care for the grilled salad. Entrees were another matter entirely. The brisket and ribs presented well and were extremely tender. Entrees came with a traditional assortment of pickled onions and cucumbers, slices of white bread, and two sides. Keep an eye out for the flavorful habanero BBQ sauce hiding in a nondescript ketchup bottle. There is also a semi-hidden arcade behind the back wall - a great place for the little ones to go entertain themselves while they wait for the food to arrive... ... Which won't be long, thanks to the host/ food runner. His ability to be seemingly standing at the front podium and then teleport behind you with hot food, then vanish back into the kitchen without a trace bordered on supernatural.
First time here with my husband, and we liked it. I definitely recommend the Brisket Nachos. They were delicious. His hamburger, according to him, was good, he gives it 3 stars. My pulled pork tacos were extremely greasy/oily with no flavor, I just had a bite and we had to exchange them for pulled chicken, no flavor either. Our drinks were alright. I wouldn't totally recommend just getting their brisket, I guess it's on their name for a reason.
service was fun and friendly! waitress tried her best and it showed!! drinks and appetizers were amazing. main course had no flavor though. my buddy had the brisket which was very tender but had no flavor at all. i have the meatloaf which the size was massive but again it had no flavor… has potential!
This was the first time we tried Smokey and The Brisket BBQ. Nice clean big restaurant with a cool decor. We were in around 2pm and able to benefit from the happy hour menu. I was disappointed there were no sampler plates on either the regular or happy hour menu. We chose the sliders with brisket, the brisket was delicious and pulled pork tacos that were okay the red salsa was great🔥 ( better than some Mexican restaurants)but the green was too watery and not that flavorful. Both items gave a choice of 3 meats, but you couldn't choose one of each which again was a disappointment because I wanted to try their different offerings. I would have even been opening to paying a little more for the opportunity(I think its a missed opportunity for the restaurant). We also tried the Corned bread which was not worth $7 nor were the fries at $7
First time visit. My wife and I ordered a full rack of pork ribs to share with a side of mashed potatoes. With lemonade and iced tea, the bill came to over $53.00. The drinks were both weak, meaning they had much less flavor than expected. The meal arrived quickly but was lukewarm. It was served with a couple of slices of cheap white bread. The paper under the meat was soggy and tore easily when we served it to our plates; we had to be careful not to eat the paper. The potatoes were mashed skin-on and were served in a cheap paper tray. Food flavor was good but not great. Our server never stopped by to check on us or refill our drinks. There were barely any customers on a Monday night. We enjoyed the automotive décor.
2/5. I wouldn’t come back here. Pros: The BBQ beans and French fries were hot and super good sides. The vanilla ice cream scoop that I got with my dessert was also good. Cons: My appetizer, Mac and cheese with burnt ends, which came with brisket instead was luke warm when I received it. The cheese tasted like nacho cheese and the brisket itself was dry, but the layer of bbq sauce made it edible. We got our appetizer at 6:15 and didn’t get our entree until 7:06, so be prepared to wait. They were also out of the rack of ribs and bread pudding, so we had to change our orders. Also, don’t expect for you drinks o be refilled because the waitress only came to take our order then our check. As for the entrees, I opted for the half of chicken and the rub and seasoning were actually really good. The only problem was the it was ice cold in some areas. For dessert, the churros tasted like they were frozen, definitely not homemade. All in all, definitely not worth the price for luke warm and cold food that takes forever to come out. I would say that everything is edible! Ps. My husband got loaded fried and was very disappointed because it was also cold and the meat didn’t have any taste to it.
