Restaurante Rancho Grande

I recently returned from Mexico City and Oaxaca and had a strong craving for Mexico and her food. I found this place and couldn’t be more pleasantly surprised. The decor is colorful and seems to be a love letter to the various states of Mexico, the service was attentive and friendly. The food! Started with desicious homemade chips and salsa. I had wonderful chilequiles verde - perfectly cooked chips and a flavorful salsa verde with just the right amount of heat, my tongue was dancing happily! Coffee was hot and fresh. My friend had the Cafe Olla which was balanced nicely with canela and sugar. She also had the huevos Mexicano which she declared perfect. I will definitely go back.

(I am Italian, English is not my first language so please excuse any mistakes) This was my first time trying Mexican and it was exquisite! The service was fast and attentive and the waitstaff was very kind. Food was amazing, my kids loved the cheese flautas and my husband, who has dietary restrictions, found the menu variety more than acceptable. I was there with a relatively big group and we ordered the molcajete which was incredible and perfect for a big group of people. My friend from the area took us to this restaurant I would definitively recommend it to anyone wanting Mexican food or an amazing, warm experience.

I believe this is one of the best authentic Mexican restaurants in NYC . Nice ample room, walls have beautiful paintings of Mexican lore. And the food is amazingly delicious and affordably priced . I had the best Huevos Rancheros ever! They even have cheese cake and Red Velvet cakes! I come here every chance I get or order for delivery or pick up. They now serve beer and margaritas !! 😎

Staff is very friendly and accommodating, food is incredibly taste just as if you were in Mexico. Highly recommend the molcajete torta de pollo asado and the champurado everything on the menu is delicious.

When i lived in Prospect Heights worked in Prospect Park THIS was my go to, especially on Friday nights, and yes there was a wait to get a seat didn't care that's how bad I wanted to eat I miss the food, hope it's still delicious will visit again soon.

Meats was not seasoned at all and over cooked . Didn’t render the fat . Just a slab of fat on the meat still even after over cooked. Service was good and attentive. The highlight was the strawberry shake

Had Chiles rellenos. First time had it served with tomato sauce. Which totally killed the flavor. Couldn't taste the fried egg exterior or the cheese inside.all in tomatoe sauce . Last time coming here.

Pay attention before you pay your bill because ALL time that I have been here the total amount change drastically, they said because the prices from the menu are not updated it, my bill was 34 and just because the real prices are not on the menu, the price went up to 45 USD. CHANGE THE MENU PRICES.

Trashy place, not hygienic at all, greasy food. Don’t recommend.

When I saw this place it reminded me of home, the decorations were something that I would see in Oaxaca. I ordered a quesadilla de chorizo, something simple, but what i received was an insult. The quesadilla was greasy and soggy, not only that but it was made from mozzarela cheese not quesito or what most know as oaxaca cheese. I ate one third of it and not only was i disapointed but my stomach started to hurt. I had to go to the restroom and puke from the discomfort of my stomach. I paid, left, and for a whole hour I felt discomfort. I will never go to this place again.

Order from here all the time but never coming back. Ordered pick up only to wait at the register while the 2 servers there ignore me even after I say good afternoon. No response. very poor and rude service. Had to wait until a waitress came out of the kitchen to help me and even then helped someone else before me. I love supporting small businesses and I’m all about customer service and you just don’t see this here
