Delicous donuts, with an awesome specialty selection. Amazing iced coffee. Cant forget to mention how awesome it is to drive through a donut lol This place is an old favorite, and the changes along the way were for the better. My favorite donut is the apple fritter. However all the donuts are pretty tasty in my opinion. The vietnamese coffee that is serviced here is truly a gem!!
Interesting experience of driving through to buy donuts. The breakfast bagel is delicious. Staff is friendly
Drive thru Yummy donuts 🍩
Cash only; otherwise, delicious donuts and cute drive-thru concept.
Been going here for many, many years when I was very young and now I'm bringing my great-grandkids. Love love love the donut hole. 🍩
I like the Donut Hole. They have crossiants, special donuts, regular donuts. To me it is like a candy store. I always eat my favorite the bear claw or the twist. If you are a regular customer, the staff will know your name. Everyone is friendly and courteous.
I've lived here for years, never been here until today. Everyone tells me how awesome thier donuts are. They were RIGHT! I just had a glazed donut, but it was SOOOO good! Today I tried resisting this place all day long, but when closing time got close, I caved in and bought half a dozen, just to be safe.
The novelty of driving through a giant donut is amazing on its own but the fact that the donuts are great makes this place top notch. The donut holes, glazed buttermilk, and giant chocolate chip donuts are a family favorite. The ice coffee is a little too sweet but you can order it black and get flavored creamers. Cash only.
This place is more than just a fun looking building! Let me start off by saying, it's cash only, at least thats what it says at the window. I went on a Saturday, and the wait was long! I honestly didn't think it would be worth the wait, but I was completely wrong!!! The donuts are fantastic!!! Great variety, and the quality is amazing. I definitely recommend!!!
WE WENT TOO THE DONUT HOLE AFTER A DRIVE INN MOVIE THAN GO HOME IN LA PUENTE EVERY SENSE WE'RE 5 YEARS OLD NOW IM 65 YRS OLD 5 STARS FROM US!!!!! FROM EDWARD
I am giving 5 Stars based on how scrumptious these donuts are. If I were to rate it based on employee performance it be closer to -1. Not friendly , neither pleasant with customers when selecting what you desire. I refuse to allow "little sour lady" to discourage me from coming and getting my donut fix.
It's not every day that you can not only get drive-thru donuts, but you actually get to drive *through* a donut! This place also has some truly delicious items. The strawberries and cream donut in particular is heavenly. Driving from Los Angeles it's a bit of a schlep, but it was worth it! YUM.
My gf and I went to this place just because of the novelty of driving through a donut. Man, I was blown away at how good it was. I got the strawberry and cream donut and it triggered some kind of childhood memory that made me happy for the rest of the day. My gf got a s'mores donut and the marshmallows had even been roasted and had a little crunch to them. The standard donuts here were great, but the special items were competition for VooDoo Donuts, and I don't take that lightly. Will def be back for more. (Note: The place looked super clean, and the donuts were fresh. We drove through at about 5pm. My strawberry donut had real hand-cut strawberry in it. The fruit was firm and looked great. I thought about taking pics after I ate it. Oops.)
One of those places the kids just love to go, I mean who doesn't enjoy driving thru a giant donut! It's been a go to spot for the fun creative donuts for as long as I can remember. I enjoyed it when I was young and I'm glad to share it with my kids now.
Awesome fun drive thru for donut treats. Best donuts I've had in California...4/24/25 update...had to move because I lost my job but I still come back for their donuts. Truly the best tasting donuts in California. Completely worth the trip even all the way from Chicago.
Fantastic fresh donuts, I love this place.
i miss this place... when around i kid loved eating Donuts! in 90's so great times.... i will go be one day
I grew up in La Puente, and the Donut Hole has always been our place to go. I moved to a different state, and every single time I visit, I always have to stop by and buy some for my flight back. I'm just sad that they don't have the Blueberry donuts when I go.
These donuts where one of the best donuts I’ve ever tasted! I’m not one for donuts but these where amazing!! I definitely recommend and the price was fair considering they are pretty big and fully we went at night but the donuts where still super soft and delicious. It was delectable and definitely beats Krispy Kreme in my opinion. I 10/10 recommend. The experience was memorable and something I loved since it was a unique experience. I loved these donuts and hope that the business is well. I also might add that the space is a little tight so try not to bring big cars but apart from that it was pretty good if I say so myself.
Yummy, yum, yum!!! Great tasting donuts, and friendly service. Took my young son there, as I did with my daughter when she was his age, they were both very excited to drive through a GIANT donut! Great experience and greater treats! 100% recommend an historic trip and drive through a California icon and at the end you drive away with some excellent donuts!
Got some nice, fresh donuts for a good price. Not the best donuts I've ever had, but there was a lot of good variety. I liked the plain donut holes the best. We got an apple cruller, blueberry cake donut, chocolate glazed donut, and a cronut. Really liked all of them. I would definitely come back! The cashier was so nice as well. They take card IF it has a chip.
Who doesn't like driving thru the middle of a donut!?! This drive thru donut shop is awesome! Best Donuts around!! My favorite is the apple fritter! A little heads up, if you don't know already, they ONLY accept cash. No cards. So if you're craving donuts, I highly recommend, The Donut Hole! 🍩🤤
I’ve been wanting to try this in previous visits to California but could never fit it in. Finally got there today and it was worth it. Donuts looked great in the drive thru display and the staff were friendly and seemed happy to be there. Lots of varieties, decent prices. I got a maple bar, old fashioned, buttermilk, and apple fritter and all were outstanding. I didn’t eat the buttermilk until maybe 7 hours later and it still tasted fresh and wasn’t dry.
A throwback to old-school donut shops! The Donut Hole is the perfect spot for an indulgent, no-nonsense donut experience. Their glazed donuts are melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and the maple bacon one is a fan favorite. It’s a drive-thru, but there’s a tiny outdoor seating area if you want to hang out. Great for a weekend treat or a quick snack on the go
Just an FYI that this place is CASH ONLY! But it’s very inexpensive so you could probably get away with finding enough change in your car to get a doughnut. I came for the strawberry doughnut because I have had it before, but they didn’t have any this morning. No worries, I ended up getting a cronut and it was still warm by the time I bit into it! Everything I have tried here so far is delicious and the staff is so friendly.
Driving through a giant donut to pick up your order never gets old. The Donut Hole is an old-school classic, and the maple bars are always fresh. Service is quick, and the staff is friendly even during the morning rush. The donuts are soft, not greasy, and actually taste homemade. A must-stop if you’re nearby.
Fun experience for the kids! Single lane wide enough for most (not all) cars. You drive right in and their display of donuts are on your left side. The display isn’t very fancy, typical of what you see in most donut shops. At the end of the line is the window where you tell the person your order and they will box it up for you. This place is CASH ONLY. There are a couple parking spots if you wish to stop and eat but this layout is really designed for you to drive through and leave.
A drive-In Donut Shop which you drive through the middle of a Huge Donut I ordered the Strawberry N Cream and Peanut Butter Donut Both were amazing and super delicious the peanut butter one blew my mind with how tasty the PB was and how soft and yummy the Dough was and the PB little Cups on top as crumbs were Spectacular
What a cool place. It was drive thru. Quite the line of cars waiting to go thru. You enter a big chocolate donut and drive down the center. Pull up to counter and a guy took my order. I tried a maple bar. And ordered the cronut. They warmed it up and it was mouth watering. Also ordered a dozen donut holes. Wow. They were light and airy and kinda dissolved in your mouth.
Driving through La Puente roads, I nearly squealed when I spotted The Donut Hole—two giant donuts built into the building! The novelty architecture definitely draws you in, but the donuts themselves are soft, sweet, and perfectly classic. It's retro kitsch done right—you can’t help snapping photos through the drive-thru holes. A fun stop for waffle-donut fanatics or anyone chasing Americana. Even locals tend to miss it, which makes it feel like our own secret
Donut Hole lives up to its name because you literally drive through the hole of not one ... but TWO enormous donuts! Built in 1968, Donut Hole has stayed the test of time due to their wide array of delicious donuts, convenient drive thru, and structural novelty of the aforementioned giant donuts. One potential inconvenience (at least when we went) is they are old school and take cash-only. I had their classic Rainbow Donut and it made my day.
Overall good treats. Great selection although if you show late it may dwindle. My go to is the big cinnamon twist and a maple bar.
My kids liked the apple fritters. I wasn't impressed with the strawberry cream donut. I'm used to fresh, moist cream and this was more like a soft frosting. The strawberries tasted old. Maybe they need refrigeration, maybe it was later in day but I wouldn't serve "old" donuts. I would've rated it 3-stars based in my donut, but my two boys enjoyed the fritter so giving them a Better rating for now. I'd be hesitant for any fresh fruit item.
Great fresh donuts! Super airy dough and a big variety of flavors. They have great selections including s'mores, captain crunch and fruity pebbles. The apple fritter was delicious. The price was reasonable and definitely worth it.
Great donuts! The cronut wasn't as flaky and light as I like, but that was the only critique. The 4 stars is because they only accept cash., which is so hard now days. We were lucky enough to have barely enough on hand to pay.
This place has been around forever and is a historic site in the area. That was cool but it used to suck. The latest owners are awesome! They took over a few years ago and the doughnuts are excellent. Faves: Cinnamon twist (tiger tail), glazed anything, lemon or raspberry filled, Bavarian cream, blueberry cake doughnut and maple bar. In the top 3 for me including Randy's and Donut man.
The oversized “Homer” loving donut caught my attention as I was driving by. I really just wanted to drive thru the hole but had to grab some donuts for the family . Tiger tail was moist and perfect cinnamon taste - not overwhelming. Little pricy but was great experience overall
Really tasty, unique doughnuts. Can get pricey but worth it. If you are purchasing with card they do have a minimum of $10 purchase. Update: In what I can only assume is a result of the pandemic they are no longer accepting card, cash ONLY. Still delicious though.
Coolest, most creative and unique setup of any bakery/donut/coffee shop I have ever seen!! Didn't think much when I first pulled up. I mean it was cool, a big donut sticking out of the ground. But then you have to drive into the center of it and there's delicious colorful donuts and pastries, and sandwiches all along both sides of the drive thru tunnel!! The original glaze... Melt in your mouth!! Two happy, patient, helpful, and polite woman took care of me start to finish. You rock! I'll be back 👍
I’ve been to this establishment a couple of times this place has been around a very, very long time continuously, making donuts it’s famous the most picture pictured doughnut store in the country .They got a variety of donuts, croissants, sandwiches, and beverages the services courteous and friendly. they only take cash today we ordered a few of the old-fashioned donuts, they were good. The prices are in line with the rest of the donut shops in the area. I wanted to stay you got a watch out how you drive in it’s a narrow space and you don’t want to scrape your rims.
I love donuts, especially trying donuts everywhere, today was the first time I tried this place, what attracted me was the drive thru but after trying it I was not impressed, I’ve been to a lot of mom & dad donut shops with much better donuts, out of 10 stars I would give them a 5 or 6 stars, the size portion was rather small, now compared to Randy’s Donuts thru out Southern California, those are the best by far and I’m not just talking about the huge donuts they make but the taste is amazing, it has some much flavor, I would give Randy’s a 11 star out of 10 stars. It’s taste like buttery dream. Peace and God Bless all John k
The customer service at this establishment was nothing great it was alright. When I went to eat my donut it had a black hair in it we went back to The Donut Hole to get a new one they did give us a new but they tried to deny the fact it was a hair saying it was part of the frosting it was a black hair in a maple donut but other then that experience the donuts were very tasty and fresh.
I drove out of my way to treat my son to a donut at this place because he liked the shape of the outside of the building. The inside of the Donut Hole building is just a regular rectangular building with a small selection of donuts, and they didn't have any bagels even though they had signs everywhere advertising bagels. We waited in line, ordered our food, and then when I gave them my debit card, I was told CASH ONLY. Who in the world carries cash?? I get direct deposit, and getting cash requires either driving to an ATM and getting charged a fee or going to the grocery store and spending $5 minimum to get cash back. Who has time for that???? A drive thru is supposed to offer convenience. That's the whole purpose. It's to save us the time of getting out of our vehicle. If I have to drive around, find a place to get cash, walk around, walk back, drive back, that is truly inconvenient and doesn't provide easy accessibility to the public to buy donuts. This building is stuck in 1968. Why is "CASH ONLY" not posted on a sign outside the drive thru????? What a waste of time and gas.
Location was un-noteworthy besides the driving themru a doughnut. Could me much cooler if updated and made more "instagrammable" like leds in the tunnel, music in the drive thru, something to make it feel like you want to throw the kids in a car and show them something cool and grab a special donut. Menu needs to be presented outside or near the window and/or the donuts pushed up to the windows sooner so you can oogle at what they have to make your choice before the window. All i could see before the window and while I was waiting for my order was the flies inside landing on all the donuts and inside the croissant case. Also cash only when we went and the lady working was rude. The croissant was ok, hard on the tips and the cheese they use was a piece of american cheese slices you unqrap the plastic on. My husband liked the smores donut and the holes were ok but again, not noteworthy. I wanted this to be more than it was because i saw it on Instagram.
Well my friend ordered a fresh coffee the Young Man asked her to circle around & gave her A COFFEE not fresh the old coffee & said that this was a new pot smh no no it doesn't take 1 min to make new pot & brew ... They owe my friend a coffee & won't give it to her
Waited half an hour for 3cars The slowest service I have ever experienced at a drive thru. Quality is very poor Serve you cold donuts Cash only Don’t waste your time and money
These are sad flat donuts with no fluff or softness. I got a couple of doughnuts and a cronut and very surprisingly the cronut was hard and very chewy never had that before. I would avoid these over priced flat chewy donuts. There's better donuts shops out there.
I was very excited to drive through the donut hole and order a donut. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed. $3.25 for an Apple fritter and a bacon covered maple eclare seemed a little pricey but I gave them my credit card anyway, only to find out they only take cash. Who doesn't take card now at days?!!! Worst of all, they severely undercooked my Apple fritter. The center was completely raw. Bad first experience but will give them one more try.
Asked to use my own coffee tumbler, was told it was 3$ to fill it and 25 cents each for creamer packs. Ridiculous!!! Even the donuts aren't anything great. Go elsewhere
These donuts are horrible, by the time I got home the maple bar topping was inside the bag. It doesn't help that the ladies working, just toss your donuts inside the bag with napkins. All my donuts had stuck together. I Will NOT return here.
Very disappointed in my visit here. There were 2 younger females working who seemed to be in a rush. We thought it was walk up friendly but clearly wasn't. One of the donuts we got was a red velvet donut. There were flies on some donuts and the red velvet donut was stale and the whipped topping was hard. Needless to say that donut went straight to the trash. We won't be coming back here ever again.
We drove 30 minutes. Out of our way to come here because we had heard that it was great. And we're so excited to drive through the giant donuts only to find that the staff was incredibly rude and it's cash only......
Seen a Question on here asking if this place had Gluten free donuts and many people answered that they did. Assuming this was correct, I drove 45 minutes to get here asked for a Gluten free donut and the cashiers looked very confused as if they had no idea what that was... I really hope the owner looked at these Questions and gave customers the right answers..
Hi so I was really craving this place but literally came three separate times and it’s always closed even though it says open on google
My family and I used to love going to this donut shop when we lived in La Puente. We miss our favorite food spots in California, so I asked my mom to make a quick stop at the Donut Hole before she headed out to Texas. My mom is a Spanish speaker, so my preteen nephew had to order for her. Unfortunately, the older female employee was impatient and rude, which made my mom and nephew feel uncomfortable and rushed while ordering. I believe that it is important to provide excellent customer service to all customers, regardless of their language skills. I hope that you will take steps to ensure that this type of incident does not happen again. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
I was .10 cents short on my order and they didn't let me slide. Now you lost a customer.
