Tip: Try the brisket and ribs, and don't forget to add the Texas toast at no charge when ordering online!
Oh my goodness!!! I finally found the perfect pulled pork place! I’m not kidding it literally has the BEST pork I have ever eaten and in a location I never would have guessed. Your warmly greeted when walking into the restaurant. You place your order and have a seat. Now hold on cause when your plate arrives you’ll agree. The Best. Moist and tender just doesn’t say enough about this pork. It has to be cut and marinated or something. I would love to try whatever recipe they have at home. Seriously delicious. Then add some sweet bbq sauce and just enjoy the taste for a minute. Now the greens and Mac round out the meal. But wait. You get perfect corn bread also. I am out of words to describe how good the food really is. I just wish I had a place like this in Gainesville. I’m sure I’d turn into pulled pork if I did. Oh yeah did I mention the draft beer?
This place is truly one of a kind. Me and a friend went here after he told me how good it was, and I truly wasn’t disappointed. The food was excellent, came out quickly, and the service was what made our day. The owner came out to personally greet us, and we had a long conversation about the restaurant. I urge anyone who is in the Orlando/Kissimmee area to check Ellie Lou’s out!
My husband and I are from Nebraska and stopped by for dinner — and wow! We were blown away by the hospitality, the food, and the overall atmosphere. We left full and absolutely raving about this spot. SO GOOD! If we make it back to Florida, we’ll definitely be back!
The service was wonderful, they were completely honest with the situation of almost closing but were still very understanding and professional. The food was very good, it tasted great and the sauces were good as well.
This place is delicious and has a good variety of choices to eat. We came on a Sunday, so I had the Chapel Grits with brisket. The guys had sandwiches, one brisket, one pork. The fries were really good. The service was exceptional.
We stopped in for a late lunch on a Sunday afternoon. We were warmly greeted. The counter service was friendly and helpful in answering our questions about the menu. They offer a variety of menu options. We each enjoyed the brisket platter with two sides and mini corn muffins. The portions were good for the price, and the food tasted fresh and flavorful. We enjoyed our meal and would definitely return or consider them for a future catering occasion.
A real gem of a bbq joint in a strip shopping center. The quality of the food was outstanding and the portions are very generous. We got the kid’s portion since for lunch and we weren’t that hungry and it was still too much food. The service was impeccable for a fast food place. They made us feel very welcome and made sure that we had everything that we needed. In fact, the service was better than in many full service restaurants. Definitely a must try that I will return to whenever I’m in the area.
I was really disappointed when the restaurant moved out of Clermont, but I thought I would take a nice drive to check out the new place. For those in the Disney area this is a hot location right off of the 429 and right by Western Way, and a brand new development which is the back way out of the Disney area. I was not disappointed. I had my usual, the smoked turkey sandwich platter with fries and added a couple of ribs to the order. This is still the best smoked turkey in town, hands down. The french fries were done perfectly and I don’t know how they fry them, but somehow they are slightly crunchy and so delicious. The ribs were huge and meaty. I am partial to their Kentucky sweet sauce, but they probably have a selection of six different sauces to choose from. Definitely worth the trip for me, and if you’re staying in the Disney area, gonna have to check it out.
Our favorite bbq. Great service. Great food. Reasonable prices. Still coming back for more. Our favorite bbq place. Still my favorite BBQ place. Tried some Brisket Chili today. Will defientely be back for more! Perfect balance of smokey brisket and chili seasoning. Top marks to the staff as they always go out of their way to make sure guests are taken care of.
Great place to get BBQ at the new Flamingo Crossing. We are locals but first time staying over in that area and we're super impressed with this place. The mini cornbread muffins were so amazing, My favorite thing. Beers on tap. Kids meals. Can't beat it for a quick bite to eat. The only negative was the kids Mac and cheese was "mid" 🤔 and they could use more tables. Maybe outdoor is used but it was chilly when we went.
EXCELLENT Off-property stop while at Disney or anywhere in the area!!! Great beer selection and prices; food was delicious. Tender flavorful meat! Paul is an outstanding employee on top of all that.

A very pleasant and clean location, walking distance from a some hotels ... which worked out for me. I ordered the pork sandwich with their beans and a sweet tea. My food was hot and fresh, and very good for the price. The meat was tender and juicy, unlike some dried pulled pork sandwiches I have had. The sauces are tasty, I like to mix my sweet with spicy. I got their Kansas City and mixed it with the lava sauce. Very tasty. The beans were good, with a mix of three beans and chunks of meat. I was very impressed. The staff was pleasant and helpful. I had an all around great experience and look forward to another visit.
The food was delicious and the service was awesome! We shared a plate with half pork/half brisket, corn muffins, baked beans, and fries... plus, we added fries green tomatoes and fried corn on the cob. Needless to say, we had leftovers! Oh, and the sauces were SOOOOO good! My favorite is mixing the Sweet with the Carolina Gold... perfection! Too bad this place is so far away from where I live. We need one in the Winter Park area!!!
Easily my favourite BBQ joint when we visit the Orlando area from the UK. The new location was a bit tricky to reach after us having found them whilst they were at their previous premises. We had to negotiate the awful Disney Springs traffic, a bit of a downside to the new location. With that said, the meat is top notch. I'd eat there every day if I could. We don't have anything like it here in the UK and Ellie Lou's do it better than the other, perhaps 'better known', BBQ chain in the Florida area. Can't wait to return. 10/10.
I had the pulled pork with fries. Very tasty! The fries were perfectly seasoned/salted. Missing something in atmosphere though...The food was great (which is more important) so I will be back!
The manager/ owner Steve was incredible with taking his time to help us. He helped us find the perfect beer and meal. Steve had wonderful customer service while still making us feel special. The entire staff made sure we were enjoying our meal and had everything we wanted. Food was delicious with absolutely no complaints. Dessert was lacking many choices, but you really need to come for the BBQ. Tonight was our first time and we plan to come back soon.
I ordered catering for a high school team event and the food was absolutely delicious. The entire team loved the pulled pork and mac and cheese. There was so much food, no one went hungry. I worked with Sarah Zepeda in Catering and she was very helpful. I was sent a very detailed proposal and payment online was easy. Pick up was ready and hot. The food was packaged up nicely and sauce was in easy to use bottles. Catering was a great value for the quality of the food we received. We paid less than $10 per person for 45 people. I will absolutely be using Ellie Lou's for future catering again.
Was over from Clearwater Beach and stopped in. Brisket and baked beans were excellent!
The best BBQ I have ever had. Not a BBQ connoisseur but I’ve tried plenty of places, this was the best I’ve ever had. Pork sandwich was perfect and fries were awesome. Fed our family of three for ~$40. Great food, great value, great service. Will be back next time I’m visiting the area. One complaint… it’s hard to know when you’ve found the front door. Dark tint on all business windows in plaza makes it look like maybe the places are closed. I saw a group behind us lean up on glass to make sure they were open.
I asked for the lean brisket and they did a great job slicing to my preferred cut. Mustard BBQ sauce is one of the best I've tried, all of the sides (greens, BBQ beans, fried corn) were top-tier. My only complain if I was forced to suggest something, would be the option for bigger drinking glasses and salt&pepper shakers for each table. Will 100% stop by again when I'm in the area, or even make a special trip for this gem. 99.5/10
Some of the best barbecue I’ve had in a while was there with my friends from Nebraska.
we had such an enjoyable experience there for lunch today. The food is excellent, and the staff is very friendly. We had an opportunity to chat with the owner and that was the icing on the cake.
Here on vacation, and was researching the local barbecue scene, without driving 45 minutes to a good restaurant. Came across this gem and so glad we did . Four of us ate great barbecue at this great place 😊 brisket, ribs, pulled pork, fried green tomatoes, slaw and sauces, we all surprisingly good for Florida barbecue . We are from the Carolinas. And are picky about our meats. I highly recommend this fine establishment !comments tonight were best meal we have all week 😊
Absolutely LOVED my first time here and will definitely be back again! I can’t believe I had never heard of it among the CPs that live in the area! The man who took our order was great at helping us decide and was so kind. Our food was AMAZING (all three of us were loving ever second). The place was clean with great music and amazing sauce options that took a great meal to an amazing one! The staff of this location should be proud of the welcoming atmosphere they help create!
This was our first time at Ellie Lou's and I have to save it was all around great. The service was so good, the girl at the counter was so nice and patient with us and our food was so good! The pork in my pork sandwich was so soft and had nice chunks. I love barbecue sides and all the sides we ordered was great. We will be back.
I have eaten here for years, whenever I’m in the area and the food here never disappoints. It’s delicious. The place is always spotless. The staff members are always smiling. 5-stars all the way. I was here about 8pm after taking my dog to a nearby vet. Even this late at night, everything is fresh and cooked perfectly. If you’ve not been here, you must stop in. The best BBQ in the area. Hands down.
This place is phenomenal! Everything is homemade best barbecue sauce I’ve ever had, Great menu everything was delicious but on top of it the most friendly service I’ve had in a long time! I even have to be gluten-free and had many options and they even have a gluten-free peanut butter pie with gluten-free crust! Have already been here twice in my five day stay! The Cobb salad is awesome. Add some of the meat of your choice with some sauce. Yummy!
Was a wonderful experience. The staff was so nice and made the experience even better. The owners were so nice and pleasant. My granddaughter really enjoyed herself. When in Orlando again, my family will be back. Best Barbecue in Orlando. Visited from Jacksonville. Highly recommended 👌 P.S. Happy 2yr Anniversary to you again ❤️
One of the best bbq places ive had in a while. Everytime I go to Florida I have to stop in for there delicious BBQ highly recommend!
It was our first time here. Elicia was great with helping us with the menu and even checked on us after our food came out. She was super helpful the entire time we were at the restaurant. We will definitely be back next time we are in the area!
Everything I ate was insanely good. The ribs were the star of the show. But what really blew me away was the owner Ellie Lou walking around making sure she spoke to everyone. Very kind and hospitable. Locally owned and operated and great food. Go get some bbq!
family atmosphere when I came on November 14, 2025. the prices were not too expensive !! The meat is good!
We almost didn't go inside because it was empty inside. Boy, was I surprised at how good the chopped pork plate was. Highly recommend this place for some smoked pork. The Baked Beans were really good as well.
If you’re looking for a BBQ place in the area Ellie Lou’s BBQ is your spot. The team is warm, welcoming, and attentive and the owner will sometimes come and help out. The exceptional service makes your meal even more enjoyable. They are specifically noteworthy for their ribs and sausage in my opinion and are the primary staples of our meals there. Their brisket is good too, definitely good for the area and DEFINITIVELY better than the place that has a refers to a number of flowing bodies of water (that place went downhill don't go there), but I've been to Texas so I am forever colored by that experience. Their sides, fantastic. Mac and cheese as well as the baked beans are the staple alongside the potato salad if it's your style of potato salad (somewhat German). So whether you’re a BBQ connoisseur or just craving something real and satisfying that's not a chain in the area, Ellie Lou’s BBQ is the kind of place you won't regret visiting.
We are big fans of the Ocoee location, but this was our first visit to the Winter Garden (Flamingo Crossings) location. I can report that quality control appears to be strong, as most everything we had was very much up to the standard we've come to expect. Friendly service on top of that. I ordered my usual: tthe turkey platter with some ribs added. My biggest recommendation here is always the turkey. I say this as someone who almost NEVER orders turkey at a BBQ place, but theirs is the best I've ever had when they are at the top of their game, and when they aren't, it's still better than most. This visit it was excellent: moist & smoky. The ribs would be the one aspect of the food that was not so great. Some parts mostly fell off the bone and were delicious as usual, while others were a bit chewy and not up to par for Ellie Lou's. So...let's say inconsistent, and that prevents a 5 star rating for the food. I'll plan to try the ribs again next time just to make sure this visit was a fluke in that regard. My usual sides are fries & okra. That's what I ordered, but here's where the newness of the place came in. The guy taking my order couldn't find the okra button but promised to tell the kitchen. He got distracted I think and forgot, so if you notice in the photo that it looks like a ridiculous pile of fries you are correct! They gave me double fries. They very nicely brought me okra later, and explained they had only started offering it in the last few days, and that's why the confusion at the register. As far as quality, the fries were just what I've come to expect at Ellie Lou's and among my favorites in the Orlando area; and the okra was hot & fresh & tasty (they apologized that it took a while to get the okra to me, but it was because they bread and cook the okra when ordered, they don't cook ahead and have it sitting around, which I appreciate). Another thing about the food here is the cornbread. I find at BBQ joints the bread (rolls, cornbread or whatever) often seems to be an afterthought, but here the cornbread is always really good. A bit on the sweet side for sure, which works well for me because I see it as a dessert of sorts to top off the meal. And I would be remiss not to mention the fresh brewed tea (sweet & unsweet are offered). This is a nice location with plenty of space and a comfortable feel. Definitely a worthy new location for this small local chain, and certainly recommended.
Ordered 3 times in a week during our vacation. The entire staff was awesome, the food was amazing, and whether we got it to go or ate there, we had a 10/10 experience. Would definitely recommend you stop by and give them a try!
We tried the Kansas City Wet platter and added extra ribs, the food was real good. The Kansas City Wet was the right amount of moist, the ribs looked dry but it was so tender and I love how smokey it was. Steve was very friendly and did a great intro since it was our first time at EL! Great experience.
Ellie Lou’s brews and BBQ is a hidden gem in the heart of flamingo Crossing and 429, honestly a family environment, phenomenal food, reasonable prices. My go to is the two pick platter, shredded pork and smoked turkey melting your mouth but these are probably some of the freshest french fries with that awesome sprinkled season salt that is crunches in your mouth delicious.
From the moment we walked in..friendly greetings!! Tried the pulled pork and turkey... both were 😋 delicious.. both meats very juicy and tender!!😃sides coleslaw..(creamy) hot 🔥 fresh French 🍟 fries.. nice choice of sauces!@ Overall....delicious! We'll definitely come back when we are back in town!!👍🙌

We ordered 2 of the two meat platters which contained brisket, pulled pork and a hot sausage filled with cheese. The meats and bbq sauces that we selected were excellent. Our sides included the baked beans, macaroni and cheese, greens and the fried green tomatoes which were pretty good as well. The mini corn muffins were yummy.
A very pleasant and clean location, walking distance from a some hotels ... which worked out for me. I ordered the pork sandwich with their beans and a sweet tea. Great meat. Smokey with a nice crispy bark on the brisket. The KC sauce was great with brisket and the Carolina Gold works well with the pork. Settlers Beans were the best beans I've ever had. Pieces of bbq meat in with the beans! Coating on the green tomatoes was a bit underwhelming and not too crispy. Greens were smokey and savory. Mac and cheese very creamy. The nachos were solid. Going to visit again just for the beans! Cornbread muffins are a nice touch. Great, friendly staff with awesome t-shirts.
Visiting the area from Saskatchewan, Canada . Very impressed. Food was great value and the workers there were very friendly and helpful. Sometimes it feels places take there customers or tourists for granted. Left this spot in a good mood. Reccomend!
Went here or first night in Florida. Our regular place is now gone. This was a surprise find. Staff was super friendly and food was great. Ribs fell off the bone, were well seasoned and needed no sauce. Brisket, chicken and pork all tasted great. We got the family deal and it was a super deal for my family off 6. Will definitely be coming back during future trips to Florida.
Ellie Lou’s BBQ did not disappoint! I ordered a half rack of ribs with mac and cheese and a salad as my sides. The ribs were tender, smoky, and had just the right amount of seasoning and char. The mac and cheese was creamy and flavorful, and the salad was fresh and crisp, a nice balance to the meal. The portions were generous, and the service was friendly and efficient. If you’re craving great barbecue, Ellie Lou’s is definitely worth a visit!
The gold standard for BBQ. Just cannot get enough of their St. Louis ribs with the Kansas City sweet sauce. The ribs are very meaty and full of flavor. I had collard greens and settlers beans for my sides which were superb. Ellie Lou’s is consistently great each visit. Staff is friendly and helpful. A bit of drive coming from the Metrowest area and passing through Disney traffic but well worth it for food this good. I highly recommend Ellie Lou’s BBQ.
I had an amazing experience at Ellie Lou’s The food was absolutely delicious, especially the wings and brisket. I highly recommend trying them! The service was also top-notch. The gentleman at the cash register and everyone else on staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back soon!
Great new location close to Disney! Ellie Lou's is some of the best authentic bbq food you'll find in the area, and this location is conveniently close to Disney. The prices are really reasonable, and the bbq is so tender and juicy. The corn muffins are out of control! So tasty. Taylor and Chip were very hospitable, and the experience was just great overall. We are glad that this is now close to home!
This location just recently opened and I was absolutely impressed at the quality of the food and the level of service. I had the Kansas City Wet Combo of brisket, pork & rib meat w/ Kansas city sauce and crispy onion straws. It was excellent and a great size. The beans were delicious and almost a meal in themselves. The sauces were also all very tasty. This is a great addition to the west side of the Disney/192 area and we look forward to going back often!
This place is always a good idea. Every time we go: delicious food, nice employees, our order has always correct. Sooo much selection! Highly recommend the Kansas City sauce.
What more do you want? excellent BBQ, staff that understands the meaning of “southern hospitality”, and scratch made sides and sauces. Pro tip: combine kansas sweet and southern lava for a blend of awesome, spicy sweetness. had the brisket platter and was big enough to split! beer selection is great, knowledgeable and incredibly friendly staff. perfect food option if you’re trying to escape the tourist trap of orlando and kissimmee. you can taste the love!!
Stopped in tonight with the family for supper after a long day (traveling since 3am) and we were starving but didn’t know exactly what we wanted. Kid #1 had the hotdog kids meal but kid #2 wanted a burger. Young man at the counter suggested the smash burger meal, said the portion was decent size for a 10-year old and he was spot on. Kid #2 is a picky eater and often doesn’t even come close to finishing his meals but he ate the whole burger without complaint and polished off a good amount of fries too. We had the “Q for 2” - a nice assortment plate of BBQ with ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and chicken. Comes with 4 sides and the BBQ beans were the clear winner there but apparently the collard greens were pretty good too according to my wife. BBQ sauce options and the peppers-infused-vinegar were all fantastic. 4 of us ate for $80 and there’s a decent sized takeout portion in the fridge for snacking on later. Definitely worth it.
stopped for a late lunch. had the cobb salad with brisket. the portion was so large we were glad we split it. it was fresh and plentiful. came with a mini corn bread muffin. great value and close to area hotels at Flamingo Crossings. We are definitely coming back to try the bbq offerings.
I want to give a shoutout to the manager Steve for making me feel welcomed as soon as I walked through the door. Very affordable for a BBQ restaurant with many options to choose from. I had the Kanas city wet & nachos and they were to DIE FOR! Will definitely be back once I come back on vacation. 10/10 !!
I'll start by saying the location is super convenient if you are on your way onto or off of Disney Property. We stopped in on our way to EPCOT and were pleasantly surprised. The restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was great. Originally, we planned to get our meals to go and eat in the park, but we decided to dine in instead to keep things simple and we’re glad we did. It happened to be their 2 year anniversary, which they kindly mentioned and even gave us a discount for, which was a nice touch. We ordered two sandwich meals and a kids meal. The portions were generous and definitely felt fair for the price. All around, a great experience!
We had our second annual golf trip in the Orlando area and came to Ellie Lou’s last year in a whim, but it was memorable enough for us to make it a priority to come back. Robert, one of the employees, remembered us and made sure our experience was just as good as a year ago. Good, affordable barbecue in a clean environment you can’t beat. Thanks to Robert and crew for the hospitality!
We have discovered this place during our first visit to Orlando last week and we had dinner there three times my kids loved it. The food was very tasty and the value for the money is great. That’s why we came back and we will continue going back any time we go to Orlando.
Delicious! Gluten free! This might be my new favorite BBQ place. I have Celiac Disease and this restaurant does a great job keeping things gluten free for me. The menu is well labeled for gluten free items. All meats and sauces are gluten free, and many of the sides are as well. I’ve had them cater as well as dining in, and it tastes great with nice portion sizes.
Ordered 10 wings tossed in there Kansas City bbq. Absolutely fantastic! Nice big wings, cooked perfect, bbq sauce was awesome and the ranch was super good. 10/10!
Excellent value and delicious food. Love the customization options to add just one rib or chicken finger to a meal. Bbq sauce is on point and so was the brisket and fall off the bone ribs with a warm cinnamon undertone. Beans are also phenomenal. I highly recommend here after contending with a few other spots, went here based on reviews and cost/meal options and I don’t regret it! Keep up the great work.

The food was very tasty. It didn't take long for it to arrive. The location and lighting felt a bit like a stale cafeteria. The best thing about the concept was that every table had four hot sauces to add along with mustard and ketchup. I enjoyed my ribs from here.

I ordered a little bit of everything just to get an idea of the BBQ. I did online order and scrolled through everything and noticed that you can add the Texas toast at no charge - so be sure to do that so you get it! My order was: Sunday Grits with Brisket and side of fried green tomatoes Pick 2 platter (chicken, pulled pork, baked beans and coleslaw) Ribs platter with brisket, Mac and cheese and collard greens Let me tell you, I’m not a grits fan. I actually got it because it happened to be Sunday and I figured I should just get it to try. Oh man am I glad I did! This was AMAZING and quite possibly the best grits I have ever had in my life. I may make it a new once a month thing I go out of my way to get. If it’s Sunday for you, do yourself a favor - get the grits! The fried green tomato held up all the way home and was still surprisingly crunchy - the batter was fantastic as well as the dipping sauce accompanied by it. I really enjoyed the chicken, the rub on it was amazing and it had a delicious Smokey flavor. The pulled pork was super juice and also had a Smokey flavor. The baked beans was clearly house-made and had meat inside, it was amazing. The coleslaw wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was still pretty good! The ribs were okay, they weren’t super juicy or fall off the bone - the rub on it was good. I wouldn’t get them again. The Brisket was shaved and I really enjoyed it! I wonder if they have an unshaven version? I’d try that if the did just to see! But it was juicy and full of flavor. The collard greens were fantastic and I loved the bacon in it. The Mac and cheese didn’t look like I’d like it… but let me tell you. That SAUCE! Oh my gosh the sauce was unlike anything I’ve ever had. It was FANTASTIC! Definitely getting this every time. Get the Mac and cheese! Texas toast was good! And I loved the cornbread, super moist and actually had corn inside - which is my favorite way to have cornbread! All in all, this place is amazing! I’ll definitely be going back for sure and trying new thing! I say give it a go! All their BBQ sauce is already house made and delicious!
Being a BBQ guy myself, I am always hesitant about going to a BBQ place and ordering food that disappoints me. Just to be safe, I ordered the ribs, and to my delight, the ribs came out as a healthy portion and naked just as they should be. You add the sauce if needed! The ribs for my taste were slightly dry but had outstanding flavor over all. This place has 4 different sauces you can add to your BBQ, and each had a unique flavor. I found the sauce I liked and started the carnivore diet! Overall, the BBQ was a good choice and did not disappoint!
First time visiting . Shaya took our order and was extremely friendly and helpful with both choosing our food and drink ( beer tasters for the hubby to help him decide . Portions were large abs couldn’t fault any of what we had . The corn on the cob was lovely . BBQ sauces for all tastes . Toilets were spotless . Very pleasant place to eat and drink Not too far away , we’ll be back

This is a fairly new location and it is definitely better than the Ocoee location. The staff is much friendlier and the food quality has been consistently better. The BBQ is good, but definitely not the best in the area. Be warned that if you go during busy times they can take a while to fill orders. I believe they will have online ordering eventually, but it isn't available for this location yet. I would probably bump my review to 5 stars when online ordering becomes available.
Was excited to try this! Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. The turkey was absolutely gross. Chunks of turkey that were the weirdest texture I’ve ever had at any bbq place ever. Usually turkey has grain to it and is sliced. This was big squishy chunks. The fries were good as were the MINI corn muffins - very mini. The sauce was ok too, but when your “star of the show” is subpar, it ruins the meal. Staff was very nice, but there are so many good bbq places in town that I’m sorry we came here.
We probably won’t go back. We live in the area and just wanted to try it out despite hearing that it wasn’t great, and the rumors were correct. A lot of the food lacked any flavor. Even the smell of the food was faint which is odd for a bbq place. We tried a ton of different stuff and none of it was very impressive at all. There was nothing on the menu we’d order again, but the nice lady who helped us, Janiah, was VERY sweet and polite and she was incredibly patient with all of our questions and provided helpful suggestions for us! If this review was for her alone, it would be 5 stars. Good customer service is hard to find and she was the best thing about this place.
The first time we went the food was great. The las time it was like a complete different place food was tasteless, side where like they where a week old and worst part the ribs where basically cardboard. Service and place is good.
UK tourists - i had the brisket platter. Brisket was good but didn't have the classic bark i was expecting. Skin on fries were really nice 👌. The coleslaw was weird with small chunks of cabbage, its way better in the UK 🇬🇧 The corn muffins were a bit dry and crumbly so didn't eat them (also better in the UK).. Service was really good and staff friendly.
I came here after work very excited to eat something that reminded me of home, I didn't want to cook it myself but left underwhelmed. I saw the place was packed which is usually a good sign. It took a while to get my food, which is fine, I don't mind waiting for good food, but the brisket and pork were both moist and dry(another review stated that). The staff was very friendly, and I overheard them stating the heat lamp was too hot and needed to be turned down(hope they turned it down); they had double gloves on. I feel like my food was not under the lamp for long to dry out, as they handed it to me personally after the long wait. The mac and cheese was very basic compared to what was described, and the collard greens were under-season. Once I added my seasoning it was better. The corn muffins were the best part of my meal. I really wanted this to be great based on the other many good reviews but this was just my first experience.
We tried Ellie Lou’s Brews & BBQ and had the brisket and pulled pork. Unfortunately, both meats were a bit dry. The pork was more chopped than sliced or shredded, and the brisket was chopped as well, which seemed to let out a lot of the juices. I did notice they explain their approach on the wall, but it just wasn’t our preference. The sides were actually better than the meats. The okra was well seasoned, though it did come a little mushy, which I understand since it was to-go. The fries were also nicely seasoned. The sauces were delicious and the cornbread was really good. Overall, the flavors were there, but the meat preparation ultimately missed the mark for us, so we probably wouldn’t return.
As much as I wanted to like this food, it was tasteless. The meat had ZERO seasoning. We literally used so much sauce to add some sort of flavor. In fact, the meat was so bad, I had to eat some chocolate to get the terrible aftertaste out of my mouth. The loaded fries wasn't as bad as they were covered in toppings that added flavor. But- the fries themselves had no salt. The service was great- but the food was beyond TERRIBLE.

I was anticipating some flavorful food.I was saddened by my experience, and unfortunately, I did not get that. Customer service was great and the employees were very kind and very polite. I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich with fried okra and a side order of brisket. To include a free order of coleslaw. My palate was confused. How do you have moist but dry chicken at the same time? The brisket was lacking flavor and showed a minimum of bark penetration. If I had known that the coleslaw was going to taste like that, I would have said no, you can't keep it. It tasted like mayonnaise and cabbage with no seasonings. Is Ellie Lou's afraid of seasoning? I tried three of the four barbecue sauces. It seemed as if more research was done on the barbecue sauces versus seasoning the food. Barbecue sauces are enhancers of flavor profiles and not in replacement of the lack of flavor. Barbecue is supposed to be soul food. Unfortunately, this establishment lacks some soul.
Food was not good. Fries were burnt. Ribs were fatty. Mac and cheese tasted weird.
The food tastes good, the flavor is good, the smoke is good as well. I had the corn muffins which are really dry( tastes like they're store bought), if they were bigger they would be a little moist. The Mac n cheese are kinda gritty and tastes like Stouffers Mac and cheese from the store. Green beans are mushy and not seasoned very well, (they taste like they were microwaved from a can). The pork and beans taste good, I feel that they are a little to sweet and need a little something to break the sugar, maybe some vinegar or even some French's mustard. Over all, I think it's pretty good to eat there, it just needs a little bit more. Extra note: The brews were limited because the keganator was broken bottled was available in basic beers. The restaurant was clean overall, the tables and floor looked clean.
The place is nice and has good atmosphere. We ordered to go and the meats were moist but had no seasoning, the sides are tiny, and they forgot our cornbread. When I called to tell them they said all they could do was make me drive all the way back to correct their mistake.
About as trash as BBQ gets. Ribs were dry but edible. "Southern green beans" we're straight out of the can with some pepper added. They have this "Kansas City Wet" nonsense that is BBQ manwich/sloppy joe. And these "settler's beans" are even worse. How does a BBQ joint screw up baked beans? Well, they did here. Stay away.
Placed two (2) separate orders on Saturday, July 5, 2025 for the Brisket Sandwich with no sides. Was wrongly charged $13.62 for the first order. $13.62 is the total for the sandwich with a side, but I only ordered the sandwich a la carte. Should have just been charged $10.11 (incl sales tax), which is what I was charged for the second order. After I finished the first sandwich, I went back to the register to let the cashier (“Kara A”) know about the error in how I was charged. This is also when I placed my second order. Cashier agreed my first order was processed incorrectly and said she’d resolve the matter. I return to my seat to wait for my second sandwich. The partial refund hadn’t been processed yet. I finished my second sandwich, went to the front to clean my plate, throw out my cup, napkins, etc. Went to the restroom to wash my hands. Came out the restroom and asked for a receipt for the refund transaction they should have already processed. I waited for them to provide some kind of update as I ate my second sandwich. When they didn’t, I knew something was wrong. Cashier now says she didn’t think they would be able to process the refund. So, had I just walked out the door after throwing out my trash the refund wouldn’t have been processed despite them saying it would … I asked why. She offered to have her manager help me. Elder/ senior male (see photo) walks over and starts fidgeting with the computer — seemingly “trying to process the refund”. Doesn’t acknowledge me despite my greeting him. I’ve eaten here 5-6 times before and he’s been there every single time. We spoke briefly my last time there — the weekend of their 1-year anniversary at that new location. Actually, a different cashier on that previous visit wrongly charged me for a side too but I didn’t have any issue having the partial refund processed then. After flagging it of course … Five (5) minutes later he says, “you don’t have to stand there and wait” for him to finish processing the refund, that he’ll get it done. I said I would wait for the receipt showing the refunded transaction. Another few minutes pass and he hands me a receipt. I thank him and exit into my car. I then realize he’s just given me the receipt for my second order and not the receipt for the adjusted price of my first order. I walk back into the restaurant and let him know about the discrepancy with the receipt. I let him know I was disappointed in how this was being handled as it felt like I was being lied to and effectively defrauded. Yes, we’re talking about a meager $3.51 difference here, folks … how silly. He says they were still working on processing the refund. I took this as affirmation that he knowingly gave me the receipt for the second order (and not the receipt for the first order with the partial refund processed) just to try to get me to leave without actually processing the partial refund. The store was empty. No one else seated in the dining area. There was no line. My waiting for the refund to be processed wasn’t affecting their operation in any way … After another few minutes he hands me a receipt for the first order with the adjusted total; however, still not reflecting the fact a partial refund was issued. Now I have to wait to confirm with my bank the partial refund was in fact processed. If not, I’ll dispute the charge … This is the first review I’ve ever posted. Food is good here, but I won’t be back. Between this petty level scam and, on a previous visit, watching the same manager (photo attached) who ran this refund scam serve two adult males alcohol who asked for beers to go (maybe illegal?), there’s a pattern of bad business here I can’t support. Happy to take my business elsewhere.
We visited the restaurant on a Monday and did not like it. The food was cold and tasteless, especially the brisket.
The people that work there are very nice, the only plus. I had the pulled chicken sandwich and the chicken was very dry. My youngest had the crispy chicken sandwich and it made him sick right after he ate it. The buns were also very dry, flat and just didn't taste good at all.
