Not sure why all the negative comments below, The food taste amazing everytime and the portions are ideal for a lunch serving. $12 isn’t going to serve you a full course meal, it’s a lunch portion enough to feed 1 person. i’ve ordered through Uber Eats and in person several times and only once have they forgotten my beans, next visit i went i let them know about it and they gave me an extra cup of beans and free tostones to accommodate. Don’t be so tuff on these local businesses who are just trying to stay at float. Speak up if you want a better servicing, a plate can only fit so much.

This place is great!!!. Best chicharron in area. The place is always clean and the food is fresh. I've walked in this restaurant right before they close, yet still the lady behind the counter is always so nice and patient. Just Wish they had a menu to take home. If you like Spanish food this small spot will not disappoint.

Found this Place after the Army game and the food was amazing. Didn’t eat from the hot already made food. Ordered from the menu and enjoyed the fresh mofongo with shrimp they also have a full bar. I can’t wait until Oct 7th when we go back for Army football and Nellys delicious cuisine

Nelly's food is always good. I love the mofongo, I have tried all of them pork, shrimp, cheese, chicken so many options to pick from. So far all the meals have been on point specifically the pernil. I like they have different size meals and most important you can order your meal in so many different way online (I usually use Yelp) or just call the restaurant to place your order.

Ordered take out via grubhub and it was delicious! We tried the family deal, whole chicken, rice and beans , the fish mini combo, and maduros.. all tasty! The chicken and fish were super flavorful! Portions were lovely and I can’t wait to try the Mofongo.

Food is amazing and authentic made me remembered when I was back in the DR. I been over many times and Ill keep coming for more. Food is fresh, delivery service is fast and its not that expensive. Recommend anyone to come dine in or take out.

While I was visiting Newburgh, I decided to give Nelly’s a try because I absolutely love Dominican food. It did not disappoint!!! I had white rice, stewed beans, baked chicken, sweet plantains, and lime with a Tamarind Jarritos to drink. OMG! The flavors were great! Not to mention the ladies behind the counter were very friendly and the sit down area to eat was beautiful, clean, great ambiance with Spanish bachata music playing in the background! I would definitely visit this restaurant again if I am in Newburgh! Buen Provecho!!!

OMG, they catered for me twice already. Always on time and food was great. Very picky eaters on this side and Nelly's never disappoints. The prices for catering are reasonable and they are not stingy with the portions. Pernil, chicken and rice were on point for my wife's birthday. So much that it was requested to order a pernil for my little one birthday too. Don't forget dinner there too. Enough tables available and food there great. Take a trip and enjoy.

I had Pernil, which was tender and moist. The rice was very good, and not dry. Beef Empanada and Potato Balls were also tasty. Tostones were good, but the forgot the Mojito sauce. Definitely going back.

This was our first time at this site in Newburgh. The ladies were super sweet and helpful. The food, on the other hand was not as good. In their defense, we arrived close to closing and they had already begun mopping. I would give another just to be sure it wasn't because they were closing soon.

Located on N.Plank Rd. 1st~ The food & company I was with made me want to stay & throughly enjoy myself ❤️ That said, let me tell u why I almost didn't stay. The bathroom is coed,very small, very dirty & the hand soap was "really" watered down. With all that's going on with CoVid19, the soap is desperately needed in full concentration! The only person available to serve, cook & collect the payment was very pleasant but never wore gloves & had dirt under her short finger nails. What can I say, I was sooo disappointed bc there were other reviews that also mentioned the dirty nails. Wish I would have read them before going 😔 So the 3.5 stars I would have given are strictly for the food & pleasantries.

I feel so much better on buying food from them once again.They changed the inside settings n the number one cause of the problem a women with attitude,family problems bringing it to their job, JUST CAUSE IT SEEMS THAT YOURE LIFE IS SO MISERABLE, DONT MEAN YOU SHOULD GIVE YOURE MISERABLE SELF TO THOSE WHO ARE LITERALLY PAYING YOURE SALARY. Food is great...but please, someone speak Englsh. I ordered food on Seamless for arriving company. A very large order, an hour later I receive an email saying my order was canceled. WHY?? I call the restaurant and NO ONE CAN SPEAK ENGLISH, SO THEY HANG UP. So disappointing. I spend another 20 min on the phone with Seamless, they tried to call the restaurant as well, but got the same results. Im done!! So utterly unprofessional. They lost a good $$$ making customer. Company arrived to no dinner. SUCKS!!

I probably should have known better but I ordered through Uber Eats for a delivery order. I ordered a cubano and it was the saddest thing I saw. They give the option for sweet plantains or tostones for the lunch specials but don’t send you either. The habichuelas weren’t in the dish but sent in small coffee cups and barely had anything in them. Just sent plain white rice despite the pictures of the food showing arroz con gandules. Overall, it was disappointing. Honestly your best bet is to go get food elsewhere, you’ll get more for your buck.

I actually am from Brooklyn living in the neighborhood blocks away from Moore St and Graham Avenue I actually wanted DANNYS but My daughter who had the food prior was completely excited about the food at NELLIES. Well I was disappointed the beans definitely was burnt and they tried to salvage them. The TOSTONES was dry did not taste fresh with the crunch they tasted frozen FYI frozen plantains are very dry. I have sat at many Hispanic Mothers tables growing up and I know who ever was in the kitchen skipped on the flavors and Quality of the food I have been home not feeling well and she wanted to give her parents something special and it’s disappointing the food wasn’t true to it’s culture.. I had to tell my daughter what happened. Please don’t rob your customers of the true experience we are paying for!!!

Don’t order onGrubhub. They have an extensive list of items to order. But once you do. They will cancel your order because they are unable to prepare it and then you will be stuck waiting for grub hub to refund you. Totally unacceptable.

Service is horrible. Missing multiple items in the order and when they finally answered the phone would repeatedly say "I'll call you back in a second" hang up and not call back. Then just wouldn't answer the phone when trying to call again. Ridiculous!!!!

I have been getting food from this location for nearly three years... This location has been under new management for over a year now and since then the food doesn't taste as good the portions are incredibly small... My medium beef stew consisted of 4 pieces of tough beef 2 small pieces of potatoes one piece of carrot... My rice was mushy and overcooked.... Sometimes the rice and gandules have gandules in it sometimes it don't... They are constantly out of something and offer no substitute or other options when they tell you they don't have something... I keep going back to give them one last chance but after being out of yucca yes I just wanted some rice and beans and a side of yucca I will no longer be ordering from them. Place is open till 9 and is out of a basic item at 5 pm is unacceptable.

Food was great at the beginning... But in the past year I've gotten white rice that was from the day before. One time I tried to use a discount card for 10% off at Nelly's on North Plank Rd. I had purchased from a school fundraiser. The owner or manager I spoke to not only rudely told me he wouldn't honor it, but he said a few choice words in Dominican Slang that I understood fully. It took me about 9 months before I ever went back. I went back for breakfast and was charged $28 for 4 eggs, 3 slices of salami, 2 longaniza, 3 pieces of fried cheese, 2 guineo, and yuca. And a Snapple... never going back!

I placed a $50 dollar order and didnt recieve what I asked for. The steak was suppose to be done medium and instead I was given a steak that looks disgusting and old (like if it's been sitting in a buffet for houds). No mangu or guineos. I ordered rice and beans and only got white rice. Smh I wish I can upload the pictures. My order specifically stated to contact me if they didnt have something. If they would of contacted me I would of changed my order, Very disappointing and will never order from them again. Honestly would not recommend they overcharge and for the quality it`s a joke, I got a small order of goat- Literally just a tiny bowl of goat meat that was mainly bones with no rice and a whole chicharron.. was charged 24 dollars for it. The Goat meat was hard and had no flavor, the pork ( chicharron ) was basically fat and soft skin , it`s supposed to crunchy and on top of that it was extremely oily, it tasted like Oil only. I honestly gave the goat meat to a homeless person and gave the chicharron to my dog. Wouldn`t recommend this place, I would recommend Danny's on Broadway by Rite Aid they charge a decent price for the food and the quality is always there, - Not the Danny's in lower Broadway they have horrible food as well.

Very disappointed I normally get take out from the location on Windsor Highway and it’s delicious!!! Tried this location today and I should’ve known better when she asked was the piece of chicken she was giving me okay . Got home started eating my meal the chicken was hard , dry and burnt !!! Terrible. This was the wors Latin food I have ever had. The rice was cold, the stew chicken was pinkish on the inside. Also I ordered stew goat and let me tell you it was horrible, it was way to oily and just not cooked right had a bitter taste.

When I called a female server picked up, not only did she have an horrible attitude while taking my order, she didn’t even get my order right. The customer service that she offer is terrible. When I got there she was serving the food like she’d rather be anywhere else and she didn’t like when I asked her to add more rice with my big order. She has long nails, and black hair in a bun. Be ready to be cheater with 5 Sever spoon of Rice whichever you prefer; then they will be giving you Half Sever spoon of Cod fish, beef or chicken and they will charge you $12.00 for Rice. The food has a good taste but someone should be investigating this restaurant. The servers are nice. Don't get cheat in plain day light.

I was incredibly dissatisfied with my order. It was my first time trying food from this establishment. I ordered a sandwich and was charged for it, but when I called to ask about the missing item, the store representative tried to tell me that I never ordered it. Honestly I love the food of my people no doubt about that but for a plate 20$ for arroz con gandules an oxtail that makes sense but for it to be so bad so dry that couldn’t even finish it an to top it off the girl working seemed upset when I asked her how much each plate was smh I’ll pray for ya God Bless but never again

I have eaten here many times and have done take out before too. Today was not a good experience. The food was cold. Rice was hard. Chicken was dry. Never again will I come back. For a business that deals with food, no one here wears hairnets or gloves and they are supposed too.

I was incredibly dissatisfied with my order. It was my first time trying food from this establishment. I ordered a sandwich and was charged for it, but when I called to ask about the missing item, the store representative tried to tell me that I never ordered it.
