Really generous portions for the bowls, everything is so fresh and flavorful. The interior is also well designed and overall just a good experience. One small request to maybe cut the red onions into smaller pieces so they'll be easier to eat in the bowl haha.
Ara and team - thank for making my husbands 60th Birthday special with the amazing Mezze platters from the Catering Menu. We had 17 people and not a drop left. Fresh, delicious, with a gorgeous presentation. I can’t wait for the next event!!! The platters were promptly ready at the requested time and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. Thank you again.
I had the Atomic sandwich and it was REALLY GOOD. Highly recommend. Seems like a great spot to have lunch. Plenty of parking, comfortable booths. I don’t think they have Wi-Fi but if they did it could be even better. Armenian groceries for sale. I wrote a big long review about how spectacular it was here and it seems to have disappeared for some reason. So now I have this short one but I really did love it here.
The location is new, but the food is still delicious. I had stuffed grape leaves and a chicken delight sandwich. The place was buzzing. We'll be back.
if you're trying out the rhode island food fight, this is a go to. Definitely our favorite sandwich spot so far! All quality ingredients and the flavor is booming!
Only been here twice but I want to keep going back for this Armenian bread I'm addicted to Choreg ( as pictured). Great deli. Soups. Spices. Friendly service. Worth a stop.
We love Sonia's. This time I grabbed a Supreme Gyro and it as always hit the spot. We always grab gyro meat, tzastki, and the tuna salad to bring home. This place never disappoints :)
First time eating here, and everything was amazing - flavorful, fresh, and fast. The guys at the counter were super helpful about what to choose. Will be back soon!
Chicken Salad BLT and Atomic Bomb are unreal. Garlic pesto is absolutely delicious - love Sonia’s!!!
I discovered Sonia's Deli during RI food fights sandwich month. Needless to say, they got my vote. Not only are the ingredients clearly high quality, but they have the best bread for a sandwich around. The Smoky, and the turkey pesto are my two favorites. But I guarantee, you won't be disappointed with anything you order here.

Chicken Salad BLT and Atomic Bomb are unreal. Garlic pesto is absolutely delicious - love Sonia’s!!!
Sonia's is a great stop for a healthy heart lunch. Their salads are fresh and large and come in many varieties. The same applies to their sandwiches and wraps. The staff is always very friendly. During lunch expect a wait if you dont order ahead, they are very popular. They also have a little market with imported goods such as herbs, cheeses, and snacks.
The food and the service are impeccable 👌 I highly recommend the atomic bomb, Bluto salad with chicken & the option to create your own bowl. The only downside is during lunch hours, it's hard to find a parking spot
My absolute favorite place to eat when I'm in the New England area. Mouth-watering Mediterranean cuisine, excellent (and fast) service, and a market section with unique imported foods. Highly recommend Sonia's!
I have driven by Sonia’s so many times, thinking, I want to try the food there. Well, a few weeks ago, I did. I am so glad that I stopped. So far I have had The Sonia’s Falafel Wrap and My Big Fat Greek Wrap. Both were delicious! Last week I ate my Falafel wrap and I immediately wanted another one. I had another one today. It seems that I will soon be a regular. Sonia’s is very close to where I live. I used to go to another city to get Falafel. Sonia’s definitely has a new customer! I am a happy woman!!!
I love Sonia's. Great food, something different. The Super sampler is a great deal - more food than my wife and I can eat in one sitting for $10.
I’ve been a loyal customer since day one! I am very fond of the food here! Healthy yet yummy, great atmosphere decent customer service & owner is a Joy. I am constantly recommending this place to all my friends and colleagues
Sonia's has the best sandwiches and middle eastern specialties. I always go for the marinated eggplant, fresh pita bread, and gibnah (braided cheese). It's my go-to spot for middle eastern food and a good sandwich.
Sonias near east from the minute you set foot into the establishment your welcomed with kindness the staff is polite and quick to serve your needs. The place is very clean and the food is delicious.
I recommend Sonia's to everyone looking for the best place to get a "grinder". They have great sandwiches, salads, soups, etc. along with a great choice of home made Mediterranean fare. You will never be disappointed.
What a great delicatessen store! They have so many things that a cook in the European tradition needs. They're quite unique in Rhode Island. It was my first visit there, but I am sold. I will visit them frequently from now on.
It was my first time there my dad used to go there a lot I have never gone but it was the best experience ever food was delicious and everything was clean and I will definitely go back there 100%
my bf comes here all the time & talks about how good it is so i wanted to try it! i got a falafel sandwich and it was AMAZINGG. the staff is also so friendly. super affordable and amazing quality!!! <3
The absolute best. Always fresh, great service and clean spot. 10/10
I had the falafel bowl and my husband had the pastrami Ruben and the food was fantastic. Also the only place I can find our daughters Dodoni feta and her Greek cookies and candies. Service is always polite and kind. If you have never been and have a taste for deli medeteranian than Sonia's is a must.
They handled my catering order for my wife's 60th birthday party. They were very helpful and patient throughout the process. All of their advice was spot on and everybody loved the food.
I've never had one bad meal here, anytime I'm in the mood for a fresh salad with fresh ingredients, I come here. My favorite is the Fatoush salad, sometimes I'll go for the red and white but the service is also great and very inviting
Honestly the most amazing food! The quantity and quality is excellent, no other place I've had of similar food could possibly come close to the level this place is on! Thank you so much for the food and the atmosphere and people were very welcoming! Will definitely be going back to this place in the future!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 6 stars. Place is phenomenal! I just devoured the Red and White sandwich and just like the other sandwiches I’ve had, it was top notch. Place is always jumping and they still get the food out quick. I have had nothing but great experiences here. Thank you Sonia’s. Lunch was bomb as always!!
Wow, what can I say about this place! Mediterranean deli's are one of my favorite dining experience and this is one the best I've ever had. Great place, super clean, ample seating and the best staff ever. They're very friendly and make each visit enjoyable. Whenever my boss comes to RI to work with me he insists we eat here! Stop by for a great eating experience or shop for exotic delights in their Near East market area. See you there!
Consistent exceptional service. Food that explodes with flavor. I always buy lamajunes by the dozens as I've moved to CT and miss this market. Growing up in an Armenian home with no living relatives, I get lost in the market place seeing candies and other things from childhood. I always feel a sense of belonging and my reward is the taste of wonderful reminders of growing up with great food and Tavloo or Nardi.
what a fun place to visit! great deli with an Armenian grocery. it is tidy and well stocked. they serve simple and delicious sandwiches with surprisingly good coffee. i love browsing through food labels i can't read and there are plenty of those! i can't wait to go back and try some more Armenian specialties. parking is a little tricky, it is best to park on the street instead of their small parking lot.
Well we bought a potpourri of different items to try oh my goodness everything was absolutely delicious
If you’ve been looking for a Mediterranean place, this is the place to go look no further you will not regret it. You can’t go wrong with the food because everything is so delicious for the fresh pita and hummus to the salads and sandwiches. Enjoy!!!
I love this place it has the best food.. everything is delicious! My daughter wasn't feeling well and what was she craving? The chicken and rice soup!! When I'm in Cranston it's a must there is no place better than Sonia's for your cravings 😋
The best! Everyone’s super friendly and helpful. The sandwiches and prepared foods are all terrific—and a lot of excellent middle eastern dishes you don’t find just anywhere. And they have a great little middle eastern market.
I crave Sonia's weekly! Everything I've had has been absolutely delicious. Fresh, flavorful, and great prices, it's hard to beat. My favorite is the olive oil salad with chicken because it's healthier, but truly, everything is delish!!! And give yourself a little time to check out the store, all kinds of unique foods to try in there!
The food here is amazing and fresh. Prices are good and portion sizes are large.
I LOVE THIS STORE! The food is amazing. Whether you want prepared fresh, prepared frozen, or you want to get the ingredients to cook, they have it all. Very clean. Very helpful associates. Even the customers were nice! Sonia's is definitely one of the jewels of Cranston. Oh, and try the eech!!!
I personally have never ate here, but I feel like I have vicariously experienced the greatest sandwich on the eastern seaboard through my client who wishes not to be identified. The Cranston East is by far the most amazing sandwich to have ever been created, according to the numerous exclaims the eater had expressed. This sandwich was so good, it warranted this third party review!! Update: the vicarious experience has become personal, I am speechless... P.S. I have been requested by another client that I must give a special mention to the fantastic jalapeño havarti cheese 🧀
This establishment is fantastic! My coworkers and I order from Sonia’s every week and we are never disappointed. The bread is always delicious and the pickles are an added, juicy bonus with our sandwiches!
Great food. Fantastic sandwiches. Extremely friendly employees. You can't go wrong! Update The pocket bread comes in frozen. It's offensive and frankly outrageous that the owners would allow frozen bread to be delivered and then try to sell it as fresh. It's not fresh. In fact, look around the edges of the bread, if you see it cracking in the bag, it's been frozen and thawed out. I'm shocked they would allow this! If this review helps you, please click like. Thank you
Recently moved to the neighborhood and had the opportunity to walk over to Sonia's for an early dinner. I had the gyro and my wife a falafel. We both really enjoyed the food, it was flavorful and fresh tasting. We picked up some baklava for dessert which was also enjoyable. Glad this deli is close by and we'll definitely be back to Sonia's.
Made a pit stop because I just happened to be in the area. Really glad I came in. Delicious food. The chicken salad BLT was amazing!
The freshest sandwich you'll ever taste!! I'll never forget the experience friendly staff and reasonable prices! 🫶🏾
Incredibly friendly and helpful staff, was warmly greeted within 2 seconds of entering. The wrap I got, The Sonia Falafel w/ gyro- was fantastic. Automatic add to the sandwich rotation!! Thanks guys!!
This place is absolutely great👌🏾 Not only the food is delicious, they have excellent customer service, but they are also very CLEAN! I constantly see someone cleaning the counter in cooking areas as they are serving customers. I feel very comfortable eating there! Everyone should try the eggplant grilled chicken sandwich 👍🏾👍🏾
The best chicken soup. Super fresh and tasty sandwiches. I live out of state, but stop here each time I come back to Rhode Island. Good customer service and authentic foods with a prepared or market section.
Their salads are beautifully made with fresh ingredients and very tasty! The sandwiches also amazing! There are many Armenian foods in their small market. The people are lovely.
Just like others have said. This place does not miss. We placed 7 orders between my co workers, everything was ready in 20 min and came out amazing. Thank you Ara
We have ordered from here a few times and every time the food has been delicious! We love the different options and combinations of each dish. We will continue to order from this establishment.
Sonia's doesn't miss! I eat here once a week and it's great every time. Thank you Sonia's! 🙌
Best place for so many things! Great healthy lunches with the freshest ingredients - always delivered with a smile. Awesome place for Middle Eastern groceries, fresh bread, nuts, dried fruit and spices. I’m especially grateful Ara did an incredible job packing and mailing Armenian cheese and other perishables to my parents in North Carolina. They were so pleased with delivery and quality.. put such a smiles on their faces. Thank you Ara and Near East Deli.
Sonia's is awesome. I love to go here whenever I get a chance. The staff here is awesome. They always treat their customers like family. The falafel is perfectly cooked and the other sandwiches I've had were delicious. They are also a market for some.grocery items including spices and cheeses. If you visit here you will not be disappointed.
It’s hard to beat the combination of fresh baked bread, high quality deli items and a clean atmosphere. They knock it out of the park at Sonia’s whether you want a traditional american style sandwich or their authentic international selections, you can’t go wrong ! New to the area and i’m already a regular.
The food here is phenomenal. Everything tastes very fresh and clean. My husband and I always get the chicken falafel. They also have pretty affordable prices in their market for spices and other treats that are hard to find at the grocery store. Oh yeah and I can’t forget the baklavaaaaaaa. Sometimes they are hit or miss to catch by phone, and the parking situation isn’t awesome if you go in person to order, but it’s worth it.
Such a neat and welcoming environmental place to be at and the food is amazing!!!!
Always good. Everything I've ever had from Sonia's has been amazing. The Atomic Bomb is spectacular. My favorite item on the menu. Parking isn't great, but everything else is. Highly recommend that you try their food if you haven't already.
Always so much fun, fresh & DELICIOUS. The staff is attentive and accommodating. The menu is inventive & the portions are insane! You honestly can’t go wrong with anything you order here - that includes the variety of salads, olives & cheeses they offer in the deli display. The shop is always super well stocked with hard to find dry goods, spices, dozens of yummy pickled veggies, snacks & sweets! We’re always trying something new when we come in for our staple favorites like their lahmacun, sucuk & burek - we’re excited to visit their 2nd location! This is definitely a place I make a point to bring my out-of-town friends when they come to visit me here in RI.
Fresh ingredients are used to make sandwiches and salads. There's a selection of specialty food items too (olive oil, spices, dry goods). They carry authentic Greek feta (Dodonis) and other cheeses, a nice selection of olives and prepared food (dolmades, tabbouleh...). There is seating as well, nothing fancy but comfortable.
All the workers at Sonia's is very nice and also patient! Their food is delicious. I try to get something different each time. And the wait time isn't very long, even when there is a lot of people. Also, as a little bonus, the pricing is very good. With the price of a lot of places going up, theirs seems to be a very small climb, barely existent. I definitely recommend this place!
Just did a catering order with mezze and pita platter for an event. Everyone raved about the freshness and quality of the food. We love their Gyros and sandwiches! Plus the homemade hommus and pita chips are awesome. Staff is so friendly and every time we’ve visited we’ve had a delicious meal. Definitely recommend Sonia’s!
This is the YUMMIEST Mediterranean style restaurant I’ve tried. I can’t wait to get this whenever I’m visiting Rhode Island. One of the highlights is the baba ghanoush. Friendly & kind service too.
Great food fast clean with healthier selections of options
Tried Sonia's today, after going to another similar place last week and finding myself still needing a Mediterranean fix. The other place wasn't bad, but as soon as i walked in to pick up my order, i was hopefully optimistic that Sonia's would be better and was not disappointed!! I ordered the Gyro Supreme & subbed chicken in for gyro meat. There was a TON of chicken in it, and it was very moist and flavorful. The tzatziki was divine!!! I will definitely be headed back here for any Mediterranean cravings! Also, the market is chock full of candies, nuts, spices and other delicious-looking things I'll investigate more when i have time! They were very busy and the place was spotless. Definitely worth trying yourself!
Atomic bomb is so good Italian grinder is fantastic The rockstar grilled cheese is fantastic
They have the freshest salads EVER! Can't wait for them to open up in Smithfield. Highly recommend getting their falafel, fattoush salad, and their premade kibbe balls! Keep the kibbe in the freezer to pop in the oven for a delicious wholesome weeknight supper.
I could give this place more stars, I would. My husband and I were in the area and planned to stop in for a quick bite at Jack's NY System, but they were closed, so we went to try Sonia's. Upon walking in, we were greeted by workers. We looked at the full menu on the wall, which was loaded with options for sandwiches, wraps, and salads. The cashier was very kind and helped me make a choice of what I wanted, and my husband chose his meal. We paid 30 for 2 people, which was reasonable. The food was absolutely 100% fresh, and delicious. They have takeout, and dine-in. I noticed a lot of people coming in for takeout wrap and sandwich platters. The place was clean, busy, and friendly. We will definitely be back there again.
Terrific deli with really good prices. Tried grape leaves for first time and loved them. Had several sandwiches and rice and loved all of it. Don't skip out without baklava. Outstanding. Owner and family are really great people.
Food made fresh, high quality, and was delicious. Portion sizes and value for the money were great. The employees were super-friendly and very patient with answering questions from other customers while we were there. In addition to the fresh-made sandwiches and deli, there's also a small grocery selection with a good variety of products for Lebanese, Syrian, and other related cuisines.
We love this place. They have the best bread for the sandwiches. Nice crunchy Baguette which is so delicious. They have ruined me for all of us sandwich places. We have to travel a bit to get there but it’s worth every bite. They also have a great falafel and an impressive variety of Middle Eastern food. I buy all my parsley there, my feta, olives and the delicious sesame candies. We stumbled upon this place a few years ago and we’re so happy that we did. The staff is wonderful. Always smiling and making sure that your food is just the way you want it. I can’t say enough good things about this place. Delicious food and a friendly staff what more could you want?
We had ordered a few weeks out to have some trays of sandwiches and salads delivered to a local hotel just prior to a wedding. One call was all it took. The staff was receptive to our needs, made great suggestions and we left it up to them. A date and time was made for delivery and they were right on time with an awesome presentation of various foods. The array of sandwiches pleased all palates and the potato salad was exceptionally good. We appreciated their professionalism and delicious delights.
Great food. Very friendly.
Me and my grandmother came into the store and the two young girls in the front were the sweetest. They were very patient and gave us the best recommendations, they were making conversation and they were very engaged and caring. On top of that the food was amazing! I would solely come back just to see the girls lol😂
Staff is so sweet and helpful. I came in with my family and the two girls upfront were extremely nice and helpful. The food is delicious. I will be coming back
Huge thank you to the catering team at Sonia's who put together absolutely delicious platters of appetizers and sandwiches as well as incredible salads for our daughter's college graduation party this past weekend. I really appreciated the help I got choosing the best menu items for the type of party we were having, the onetime delivery (actually, early!) of the order and the rave reviews of the food from our 150 guests. I'm ooking forward to working with Sonia's Deli in the future, for sure!
Incredibly impressed. Spotless restaurant! The staff were friendly and accommodating. It will definitely be my go to place! The food was fresh and extremely flavorful. It’s overall comparable to other places cost-wise, but superior in flavor and quality. We went to two places today, and Sonia’s is a clear winner to today’s purchases It wins for the past few weeks of sub/grinder/hoagies we’ve tried. Bravo to a great team. Customer service is important to us, and they win for their approachability and helpfulness also!

Busy sandwich spot with quick service and a nice range of options. Chicken shawarma took maybe 8 minutes and it was really tasty. Great texture and balance of the components… though I did wish some parts of it were less salty. Really good value for the quality and price. Will definitely try this place out in the near future again.

really good food here. probably one of my favorite places to grab a gyro (with extra meat of course!), a quick tasty salad, or some ripe plump olives. the owner takes pride in this place and has been here prepping sandwiches with all his employees every time I've gone in. that kinda work-ethic screams pride in their business and the product they're selling. only reason for the four star review is their pricing for their grocery section and their falafel. I usually only buy stuff from their grocery section when I can't make it to Patel Brothers in N. Attleboro. The same products I buy there are twice the price here. another negative, I'm not a fan of their falafel. I'm a picky falafel eater though, so still give em a try and make the call yourself. they're just not fluffy and airy enough for me. their food is really good, and their staff is always polite and prompt. if you are going in during the lunch rush though, I'd say call ahead so you won't have to wait long, as they get super busy between 11-2.
I only made a quick stop here to buy some baklava, but I was astonished, when I looked around, at all the new and interesting things there were for sale. The baklava would have been enough to bring me back on its own, but the glass display cases promise much more for me when I finally return. If you need something Near East, this is a great place to get it.
The falafel wrap & baklava were delish. My only problem was there are cement barriers in the parking lot with metal rod sticking out (vertically). One of them git caught in my bumper and nearly took it off. I suggest rearranging the barriers & finding a way to trim or curve the rods so they are not hazardous. 💁🏾 That was pretty unpleasant - thank you to the stranger who came out of the restaurant & helped me out ✊🏾
Great food. Poor customer service (at least over the phone). I’ve been eating here for years and for the longest time every time I try and call in advance I either don’t get anyone or they place you on the longest hold.
Best sandwich I've had in quite a while!! Full of meat....just delicious! Very friendly staff, efficient and lots of fresh spices&items that I've had difficulty locating before. Definitely a great find.
My son started going there letting me know how good the food was,and when covid first hit he started bringing me there chicken soup,Was just what I needed . Everything there is so fresh and clean a large variety of sandwiches, wraps and more there stuffed grape leaves are the best I've ever tasted a large variety of Boar's Head deli meats and Greek olives They have a little section to buy items from the Greek culture. And they also cater. If you haven't tried this place definitely worth it.
Please please please!!!! At least do bacon egg and cheeses at the reservoir location when it reopens
Food was good and fresh. I went to use the single rest room after I ate and it was locked. I waited five minutes and knocked, waited another five minutes knocked again and determined it was empty. I told the girl at the register. She came, knocked and said “I don’t think anyone is in there. Let me get someone to open it.” I waited another six minutes and went back to the register. The two girls were standing there with no customers. I said: “What’s going on?” The girl who had spoken to me just looked at the other girl who then said “we don’t have a key”. Then she said “we don’t know where the key is” because she saw the look on my face. So I said “So why didn’t either of you come to tell me that?” And I got a very inauthentic“oh sorry” Not good enough to earn my business.

The gyro bowl is exactly what I want at times. Same goes for their traditional gyro. Sandwiches are pretty good, as well. I've tried many of their other items and I must say that they're very salty. From their cheeses to their hot sauces. This isn't necessarily bad, at all, but a difference in preference stemming from what a person is used too. I've bought a bunch of stuff from there and much of it is just so salty.
Just returned from a tour overseas and first up on the list was a couple of Gyros from the best , Sonia . Been going to the store on Park for years and we visited several times a week. Fast forward to 2026 the company has expanded with the same great menu, BUT when it was just the store on Park we could buy all the fixings, bread ,tatziki, lamb, and whatever the family wanted right there. Today I could not buy a gyros on Park, but could get the wrap and had to go all the way to Atwood and was greeted by a lovely young gal who took my order for Two Gyros and came to assist me in obtaining the makings for take home like we had on Park but she could only help with one item and advised if I wanted wrap to return to Park🥵. Either the family does not desire to have folks make their own or they need to return to the Park Ave and have all the fixings for Gyros at all three locations. There is a one saying “ if it’s not broke, leave it alone. Again, great menu, great food fair prices but a little constructive criticism.

Food is great. Service is awful. Young girls with attitudes taking orders. If you’re going to be miserable at work maybe you should be in the back.
I will never order from this place again. Full of nothing but unhappy, scowling men. You must have to know the people that own this place to get decent service. If you’re an average person and you don’t know them, they’re gonna treat you like trash. Like they did me and my African American friend. First, they watched me stand at the wrong register for about 10 minutes before a guy who didn’t say anything just pointed down to the other register. The angry unhappy young guy with glasses that took my order was rude as the day is long didn’t even give me my whole order. Some other guy had to finish it. The young guy should go get another job. He shouldn’t be dealing with people with his bad attitude. His mother should be embarrassed because she raised such an angry unhappy person.
I was a huge fan of Sonia’s . Until the last three times my order has been wrong. Ive gotten the same sandwich for the past year. I say extra balsamic glaze. Two out of the three times there was none on the sandwich. And the last time there was hardly any. They also used lettuce instead of arugula. If there is no consistency in. A place like this the locals will stop coming. Please do better at reading the slips with instruction from cashiers on how people want their food . Thank you
Food is great. Service is awful. Young girls with attitudes taking orders. If you’re going to be miserable at work maybe you should be in the back.
I will never order from this place again. Full of nothing but unhappy, scowling men. You must have to know the people that own this place to get decent service. Slow. Salad was not fresh the dressing sucked nothing Greek about it. And dude touched 100 receipt while making sandwiches. And some girl was sweeping while sandwiches are being made. $30 +tip and everything sucked. And I'm still hungry.
Just purchased his ham sandwich, it usually has much more ham than this, but it’s been a few times already that I received it with very little ham. The atomic bomb sandwich has a great value for its price but I paid $10 for this ham sandwich that was so thin. This is very disappointing because I really like this place.

Found a strand of hair in my freaking sandwich…Do better. Tell your female workers to at least start wearing ponytails or a hair net because this is completely unacceptable.
Ordered ahead, arrived on time but had to wait an extra 30 minutes. Service was rude and blamed me. Food was cold. You're better off getting lunch somewhere else.
