A traditional Americanized Chinese restaurant located in Laguna Beach, established in 1984, it has been a local favorite for years. The lunch menu is affordable around $15 per dish which includes fried rice, fried wonton, and fried chicken wing as sides. I ordered the house special beef and it was tender, sweet and tangy. The service was pretty good. We came with a big group of ~15 people on Saturday and they sat us down in the side room so we can have our own space.

Just amazing, very kind and friendly staff, they knew most customers by name, like friends, hugs and smiles, the food was very good, Mongolian beef and house Chow Mein are delicious. They keep the place clean and there is a relaxing ambiance overall.

Such a rare find these days... Great Chinese food! This place manages to pull it off! So much better than some of the stuff I've had in China Town in the big city. Everything is made fresh! And you can taste it! Can't remember the last time I tasted a freshly julienned piece of ginger in my Chinese food. This is how Chinese food is supposed to be. Their lunch specials are great and come with fried rice, soup and a fried chicken wing. Very reasonably priced. Two people can get out of here with a lunch bill under $25. You can tell the locals love this place and the take out business was booming. The interior is a little dated but the bathrooms are clean and food is top notch. Highly recommended.

Wow, talk about authentic good Chinese food. This place blows all big chain Chinese restaurants away. This place is a must. The staff is friendly and service was extremely fast.

Exactly what we were looking for - fresh, friendly, and delicious. We had the orange peel beef and it was light, crispy, and tangy. We paired it with some egg fried rice, and vegetable lo mein. The staff were attentive and kind. Great experience!

From out of town. Native New Yorker, no other place i thought could fry rice like new york. I was wrong! Mandarin King knocks it out of the Park! Not only there rice but there entrées! Wow! I suggest the orange peel beef. Staff is amazing and friendly. My son has a soy and peanut allergy, they did everything in there power to accommodate. If i am ever in these neck of the woods i will definitely return!

I don’t think I’ve ever had anything better. Very fresh. We decided to dine in — it’s a cute little place near the beach. Cozy, clean, and staff very attentive. Our new favorite!

What a great place! Farmer and Sue took us here and what a treat! In town or from out of town you will love it. Food is awesome, service is impeccable and you get 5 star quality everything for a bargain. It’s our new favorite spot!! Thank you to everyone at Mandarin King!!

I have been going to Mandarin King since I was a kid with my family and I recently visited again for dinner. We ordered the family meal for 2 that comes with sizzling rice soup, appetizer and 2 meats & rice. It was absolutely delicious. I have zero negative things to say about this restaurant because the food was amazing, the restaurant itself is calm and inviting and every single person working there was SO friendly, kind, accommodating and just so welcoming. I can’t wait to visit my family again next year to come back and eat at Mandarin King. The only thing I would say is to give the fishies in front some plants and rocks :) thank you for an amazing meal and your kindness.

This is one of our very favorite restaurants in laguna beach. We used it frequently during COVID.. my friend Nancy and I lunched there about every two weeks..food and service is excellent. Unfortunately health issues has slowed us down. Nancy is recovering. My daughter takes me on our way back from my dr. Appt in Newport Beach. We love Mandarin King. It's run by family. Priscilla and her husband and their kids when they are on break from college. The food is delicious whatever we order. The service is A+ friendly staff.

So grateful to have this option in town. Soul Food. When ever I feel home sick. Their Food brings me back to life. I ordered Extra Spicy Shrimp Fried Rice. So good. Fireworks in my mouth. House Soup , is delicious too. Man is front sweet , gentlemanThank you!!!

The food had no flavor and I mean no flavors in the orange chicken, sweet/sour chicken/ wonton soup etc and hardly any sauces so you couldn’t even try to add flavor. Walnuts were brunt!! Save your money go eat at the mall!

Sweet and sour chicken was mushy and was mostly onion. We paid $17 for only a few pieces of mushy chicken. Pineapple was rotten as you can see in the picture. Chow mien had too much soy sauce. The worst Chinese food experience I’ve ever had. To top it off, they forgot to pack silverware!
