Great restaurant with a good variety of food. I had the shrimp and scallop pasta which was recommended by the waiter and that was delicious! The seafood was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the pasta had a creamy wine sauce that was amazing and broght everything together. The view from anywhere in the dining area was beautiful. We were dining at 6pm so we caught the sunset, stunning!!! They do not take reservations so it's first come, first served. We were a party of 8, and waited about 90 minutes for a table that could sit our group. We had a few drinks while we waited and those were all really good too. The hostess Cameron was very sweet and accommodating, all of the staff we dealt with were very nice, friendly and professional. Overall we felt it was a great place. Everyone liked what they ordered as well as the cocktails we all had. We would definitely return to The Deck again.

Quick service everytime. Got there before the 5pm rush, 1.5 time limit for busy times. Hummus is always delicious! 2nd time I get the seafood soup don't remember what it's called on the menu. I've tasted a fish plate before also good. Can't wait to try more items

We waited about 30 minutes to be seated, but it was more than worth it. When we were finally called, we were led to one of the best tables in the house, right along the glass on the cliffside patio, overlooking the ocean. We timed it perfectly, arriving just about an hour before sunset. The golden hour glow, the salty scent of the sea, the cool ocean breeze on a warm July evening…magic. Our server was exceptional. Friendly, relaxed, and refreshingly honest. When I mentioned the lobster quesadilla, he gently steered me away (with a knowing smile), and instead recommended the seafood primavera: scallops, shrimp, and julienned vegetables tossed with angel hair pasta and served with perfectly toasted garlic bread. I’m very particular about scallops. Most places overcook them, leaving that rubbery texture that reminds me of chewing on a tongue. Not here. These were perfection. Thick, buttery, pillowy-soft, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The shrimp was just as good, neither over- nor undercooked. Whoever is in that kitchen knows exactly what they’re doing. My wife ordered the white fish ceviche, which was bright, fresh, and full of flavor. I had a crisp Spanish white wine with beautiful minerality that paired perfectly, and she enjoyed a cucumber cocktail that was light and lovely. The service struck that rare balance of laid-back and attentive. Everyone we encountered had a cool, casual, and upbeat energy that made us feel instantly at ease. Not the least bit pretentious, just good people serving great food with an unforgettable view. If you’re in Laguna and want to feel like you’ve stepped into a seaside dream, The Deck is your spot.

Went for a walk in dinner date. Definitely harder to get a table but the staff was very nice and accommodating. Had a great dinner, food was decent and delicious. But the main star is the view. Food like the shrimp pasta and steak was a nice addition to the view.

This place was so relaxing. Right on the beach lots of shade and the food was fantastic! We started with the Shrimp chorizo tacos and then shared the salmon salad and lobster quesadilla all of which were delicious. The cocktails were kinda mid but super boozy. They were so sweet and gave my husband a free honey toffee dessert that was the perfect combination of fruity and sweet. Pricy for sure but worth it.

As a frequent traveler around the world, I can confidently say this is one of the best restaurants and bars overlooking the ocean here in Laguna Beach. It also offers one of the most stunning sunset views I have seen anywhere in the world. The place is simply beautiful — truly beyond description. I highly recommend it.

We visited The Deck on a weeknight around 5 pm, just before the crowd rolled in. It’s a fantastic spot for a relaxed evening, especially during happy hour. We easily got a table with a stunning ocean and beach view—no reservations needed, which is a plus for a casual visit. The menu leans heavily toward seafood, and we tried the burrata salad, steamed mussels, and clam chowder. The burrata and mussels were excellent, fresh, and flavorful. However, the clam chowder was a bit disappointing—it had a watery consistency and a slight sour taste, which threw it off. Overall, this is the place you take out-of-town friends when you want to show off California’s beautiful beaches and sunsets. We had a friend from Israel with us, and the view did not disappoint. The sunset over the beach was breathtaking. The service was great, but parking was pricey at $16. If you're looking for a more formal dining experience, their upstairs restaurant, Driftwood, is perfect for special occasions. But for a laid-back evening with good seafood and unbeatable views, The Deck is a solid choice.

The food was delicious and hit the seafood craving that I was having. The view was the best part and absolutely amazing. The service was okay; I felt like it was a little unorganized and felt we were kinda left alone majority of our dinner. The drinks were okay…not much flavor to them or anything great enough to remember. I will say this, they do specify that the drinks are refreshing and lightly balanced. Not sure about the balance part because of the lack of flavor in them but lite they were, although the price was not. Overall a nice scenic environment and a good experience for my first restaurant in California.

I think I simply ordered the wrong dish, but I paid for a $40 pasta that was supposed to be a shrimp and scallop dish....the pasta only came with two shrimps and two scallops. I felt insultingly ripped off with this, I should have gotten the Mahi Mahi sandwich, much better return of value than this carbfest. The dish was delicious, but it has no business costing $40.
