Best meal we had our entire honeymoon week in Maui. Sooo delicious. I got the Alfredo and mixed his homemade marinara into it- truly one of the best meals I've ever had. He's also a very sweet man, catered to us directly and educated us about the food. Thoroughly impressed and planning to come back here on our next trip in 2027! Thanks for a great night! 😊
One of the better Italian restaurants I’ve eaten at anywhere. The staff were friendly and kind including the owner who is on the floor touching every table. We loved it so much we came back a second night during our stay at the Ritz. It’s walking distance from the hotel. Good restaurants in Maui are iffy and overpriced, but this place was consistently amazing two separate nights. Thanks for making memorable dinners during our visit. We really appreciate you.
This place is amazing. Maurizio is a master of italian cuisine. True Italian food with true Italian love and service right here in Maui.
Visited recently and am suprised with the low reviews. My husband and I like to dine here when we visit Maui— its a solid spot for italian food and wine. Perhaps after covid/fires they had a mishap with service. They certainly are trying to remedy, maybe even a bit extra hah. Regardless, the food is good, atmosphere cute, easy parking. I recommend eating here.
we came in at 5:45 and the place was about 1/3 full. it took us a while to seat as I only saw one server and the manager? we sat and i saw several other tables with menus but no cocktails so I assumed we would have to wait. which we did it did take a while for someone to come over to our table and we found out it was the manager/ owner , not sure. he was very nice and took our order. we heard him talking at another table and said he was from puglia. we talked a bit about Italy as we are moving there. once we got our order in the it sped up a little. I wasn’t sure at first but it’s nice to relax and not be rushed the food the Antipasto salad was amazing chopped salami artichokes olives lettuce tomatoes and an excellent dressing. entrees brown butter cacio e pepe and the toasted tortellini both were great. desert Paia homemade gelato hazelnut was excellent. You will wait here but it was totally worth it.
You HAVE to get the lemon pesto pasta, the taste profile is divine and will be on my mind until I return to the island. Absolutely amazing ambience, staff and owner who is hilarious!! Highly recommend you visit here!
Went here with a reservation for anniversary dinner for family. They are vegan and the chef, who comes out to greet and chat with everyone, was more than accommodating! We had burrata with basil pesto and marinara served with crostini, a beautiful fresh salad as appetizers then I had pasta alfredo with chicken and hubby had lasagna. Our vegan family members were treated to a pasta pomodoro with sauted vegetables and shared our salad. We did not sample any of the wine, but most of the guests appeared to be enjoying it! This is a special place!
Amazing experience last night at the Pour House, best burrata ever! The chef is incredible and very nice, he gets to know you and makes just the right suggestions. I can't wait to go back and try some of the other dishes on the menu!
We have been coming here every time we visit. The food is absolutely delicious! Imported olive oil, Barata, are just a few of the stand out reasons. The love and care that goes into each dish is a story much to long to share. Come in yourself and visit this family run gem. Speak to Morris or Lara and feel the story they have to share. I promise you won't be disappointed. Aloha
Ambiance, music and great food! This is where we love to take friends, family and clients. As Maui real estate agents it’s important for us to know the great locations to wine and dine our clients (whom we call family and friends) and the Pour house always always hits the mark. Mahalo!
So we were sitting in our room and my wife says "Im craving pasta..." So she gets on open table and finds The Pour House 2 miles away so she made 630 reservation. As we park we can hear great guitar music coming from the front porch. Looking good so far. We are seated and decided on a bottle of GoldenEye Pino Noir. The waitres was so pleasant and friendly. As the evening progressed we were literally greeted and given attention by every staff member. I have to say, its very rare to be made to feel that at home in a restaurant. But they knocked it out if the park. Laura came to the table to see how things were going and it was like we had known here all our lives. We believe a dining experience is 50/50; food/ambience, ambience is 50/50 cleanliness and sureounding decor/ and staff. This is a perfect 5* establishment, only because 5* is the highest rating google guide gives. The food... the Burarra was amazing. The honey balsamic drizzle and pears made this an appetizer and a desert. Next, The beet salad was topped with goat cheese and the vinaigrette was perfect. Main course, Lamb over white bean puree my wife had the portabella ravioli. Omg both dishes were excellent! The finale was Panacotta and dark Itallian in a coffee press. We spent 2.5 hours dining here and it was on of the best over all experience we have had in a very long time. Laura you and your husband have made your mark and we are so glad we found you. Mahalo and aloha
Calling all cheese lovers! This burrata cheese plate was phenomenal and worth the trip alone. It was hard to choose, but we opted with the pear and honey. I can't tell you how well these flavors complement each other. The staff was so friendly and they had live, local music. This place is the perfect date night given the selection of wines, the burrata starter and lots of pasta options. The cake though...WOW. That cake is a new contender for one of the best I've ever had. We devoured it even though we were so full. It's near perfection
Amazing staff and service. Felt like home, great tasteful food. Found it on our last day in Maui visiting. Otherwise would have ate here more than once!
First off, I didn’t know Italian good be so incredibly delicious so far away from Italy. Not only was it some of the best Italian food I’ve had in my life but hands down possibly even the best food I’ve had in Oahu and Maui for our Honeymoon. Morris, the owner, served us most of the night personally and made it feel as if I was eating in a small mom and pop shop in Italy. The service and recommendations that he provided guided us through a heavenly journey of incredible tastes and decadence that rivals even the most high end restaurants that we’ve been to. Bravo 10/10 The reviews on here saying it was “horrible” obviously ate at McDonalds down the street and mislabeled the restaurant they were reviewing; this was absolutely worth the choice of where we’d spend our night.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. Had the bruschetta and couldn't get enough. The pasta dishes were the perfect portion size and honestly some of the best pasta I have ever had. Staff were incredibly nice and knowledgeable.
The food was great from beginning to end. Very quality food. Great atmosphere, kinda made ya leave feeling a bit like part of the family. I don't live in Hawaii so I won't comment on pricing. I also did not pay for my meal, I was along for the ride. I will say, it was a fantastic ride and something I went forget. Family own and ran, owner was very genuine and funny. I would take my future family here in a heartbeat. Try the smoked chicken ravioli, and the chopped salad. Both amazing dishes. The appetizers were just as great. So yourself a favor and stop by!
Food was exceptional. Staff was personable, attentive, and completely elevated the experience. We were never left with an empty glass of water. The owner even came to our table multiple times to chat and answered all questions we had about the food and menu. I've never had better pasta in my life. Supposedly, most ingredients were imported/sourced from Italy and the west coast. I've never heard of burrata before but the owner insisted we give it a try, we did, and it was great! It was a plate of mozzarella balls, bread, marinara, and this honey glaze, the sauce blew my whole family away. We can vouch for the spaghetti carbora (rich egg/cream sauce), chicken alfredo (classic, cheesy, white sauce), spicy spagetti with seafood (classic marinara sauce with a medium kick), and the lemon pesto with prawns (prawns were crazy fresh and cooked to perfection, sauce had a strong lemon note to it which isn't for everyone).
Amazing burata bar-We had the white truffle w marinara and pesto. Great for a date or a special birthday meal for 6. Tiramisu and mousse cake for desert.
The Pour House is one of our must visits when in Maui! Great selection of wines, live music, and delicious food. The burrata selection always brings us back
Great place, great food. The owner loves to come out and visit with the clientele. Great, friendly service. I have to go back so I can try everything on the menu. Especially the burrata appetizers. So many choices. I recommend adding a glass of limoncello to your lemon dessert.
Fantastic service followed by a great meal! The owner is very much part of the experience as he made us feel like family.
A great stop on our first night in Maui. Food was tasty, and appreciated the casual ambience and super friendly team onsite. Nice variety of food, and an owner/manager who is very clearly invested in supporting his business. We even considered making it a repeat final night stop, if we hadn't been overly full from lunch still!
I’m incredibly grateful to The Pour House in Kapalua—not just for their atmosphere, but for the compassion they showed during a tough time. On my second day in Maui, I suffered a major leg fracture and couldn’t join my friends on a nearby trail. I asked them to go ahead and left myself at this restaurant just to rest and wait. Even though I only ordered a ginger beer, the owner or head of staff came over, spoke to me kindly, and understood my situation without hesitation. What stood out most was the warmth—they told me not to rush, that I was welcome to stay as long as I needed, even after paying my small bill. Sometimes, you give five stars not just for the food or service, but for the humanity. This was one of those times. Thank you, Pour House team, for showing such heart.
Just had one of the best dining experiences at this restaurant. The food was delicious and well-portioned. The pasta was one of the best we’ve had. The service was impeccable. The ambience was classy but warm and inviting. The live music was awesome. We will definitely return if we are ever in Maui again. If you are staying in a resort in Kaanapali, it’s worth a 10 min drive for some good Italian food.
I was actually surprise about the low reviews here. This place is phenomenal! The chef recommended the best appetizer that we ever had!! I ordered the spicy seafood pasta and it was amazing!! The staff tried their very best to accommodate us. They seem a bit shy but are very polite.. I love the background music as well, soothing into my ear, the musician is great too! We will come back here for sure!! Highly recommended!!
We just got back from having dinner at the Pour House and this place, in my opinion, is a a gem on Maui, Definitely not talked about enough. This quaint Italian restaurant is nestled in between Sansei & Taverna in Kapalua. The owner, Mauricio, is always there to greet you and he is also the cook. He always takes the time to talk with each guest and answer any questions you may have about the menu, offering suggestions if you’re torn between menu items. My husband has a milk allergy and Mauricio is always super helpful & accommodating, customizing dishes so he can enjoy the delicious food. I highly recommend this place. You will not be sorry. 10 out of 10.
We are here January 2026. There wasn’t a reservation available but we took a chance and they were able to seat us. Great attitude and suggestions asking the staff. Food was absolutely delicious. We had the lamb shank and carbonara. Not expensive for the quality of food and service in comparison to other Maui spots. Highly recommend!
My husband and I celebrated my birthday at the Pour house last night and as always, the food was incredible, but better than the food was the service that was provided to our table by Lee. He went beyond great service for a great restaurant. We will definitely be back and we’ll request him for another wonderful dining experience. Thank you, Lee
Great small Italian restaurant less than a 5 min walk from the Ritz Carlton. Pasta vodka was fantastic. Burrata pears & honey appetizer also terrific. Staff very friendly, and restaurant owner came by several times to make sure everything was to our liking.
Came back here since we had such an amazing experience two years ago. We had the pear and burrata it was amazing. I had the lobster ravioli that was off the menu and my hubby had the crunchy tortellini. We topped it off with the chocolate cake. Great service. The chef made it to our table and really made the experience memorable.
It is a nice and small Italian place close to the Ritz and golf fields. Lots of free parking behind the building. We enjoyed burrata with olives and artichokes, pesto clams and beet salad. No kids menu, but they made pasta with meatballs which worked pretty well for our kid. Wine by the glass was only the house choice, but they do have a reasonable selection if you get a bottle. Overall, solid 4 stars for the ambience, food and the service.
I ordered Vegetarian food Lemon Pesto Pasta 🍝 , Burrata and i really loved it. Ambiance also so good.staff also so friendly. We really enjoyed our dinner.
This was a great option for the hotel guests for the Ritz Carlton Kapalua. Inside temperature was too hot for me with no AC, service was prompt and attentive, we ordered a bursts appetizer and two pasta dishes and they were well made/cooked pastas.
We came to The Pour House for dinner one night during our honeymoon. They don’t have a liquor license, but you can bring your own from the nearby liquor store with no corkage fee—which was a big plus since we didn’t have to pay the usual high drink prices on the island. The owner offered us a plate of burrata, and while it was delicious, we thought it was just a little sample. Instead, it ended up being a full appetizer—and he chose the most expensive burrata option on the menu—which we were charged for. That part felt a bit forced and left us uncomfortable. For mains, we ordered the short rib bolognese and the short rib lasagna, and both were excellent—rich, flavorful, and definitely worth it. Overall, the food was fantastic and the owner was friendly, but the way the burrata was handled was disappointing.
The strangest ‘wine bar’ you might ever go to and not necessarily in a good way. first, there is NO wine list. just a selection of unnamed wines that the servers know nothing about — only some guy that says he does all the cooking and wine selecting. they have a walk-in that you may go select a bottle you might want but their pricing is beyond ridiculous. one was a red that is about $40 retail they had marked up to $218. even by Hawaii standards, that is just about criminal. the food is pretty good but Italian traditional, it is not. more of an ‘Indian’ flair to it. i love both cuisines but it’s not listed as a fusion place … so there’s that. atmosphere is nice but it is a strange dining experience. one we won’t do again.
I will say, all the food we got here was very good. I got the white truffle burrata and spicy seafood pasta - the pasta was amazing and had a great kick. The burrata was also good but I didn't taste any truffle. All of my following comments will be about the service we received. We came with a big party of 11 and they sat us at two different tables. After sitting down, we realized they could have easily pulled up a couple more tables and allowed us to all sit together but I get it, it's a small space and we were a big group. The owner was our server and he was VERY slow/inattentive but a few other servers also helped us. It seems like the husband and wife owners were all about cultivating a good relationship with customers, talking to them for 5-10 minutes each time they came to their tables. At one point, I observed a server watching the owners speaking to two different tables and they were oblivious to her. While the owners love to chat, they were constantly too distracted to focus on a task at hand (putting in orders, getting the bill, bringing out glasses/water, etc...) Because of this, the service here was very slow. We got our meals around the same time but one person in our party had to wait 15+ minutes for their plate - I find that unacceptable. And even when we told the owner, it still took 10+ minutes for it to come out. Then, we had to ask for our bill 3 times, and it took the server over half an hour from when we originally asked for it for her to deliver it to us - she kept getting side tracked with all her little side conversations. The main issue we ran into was with our second table - they were served a mysterious salad that no one ordered. Both our tables kept denying the salad but they still placed it at the table. (Every employee we encountered was ESL). At the end of our meal, when our second table got their bill, they found out that the restaurant double charged them for every line item INCLUDING the mysterious salad that no one ordered. When they brought back a corrected bill, we realized they also overcharged us for desserts (+$1 on our 2 desserts) and the owner's response was "are you really going to make me rerun your bill for $2?" And regarding the salad, since we didn't think it was our mistake since we (1) didn't order it, (2) rejected it when they brought it out - we wanted to take that charge off our bill and the owner's response to this was "but you ate it, didn't you?" Needless to say, customer service was VERY lacking when we collectively spent over $1200 over multiple appetizers, desserts, and wine bottles.
We were looking forward to dining here but were very disappointed. Once our food was delivered it seemed the wait staff forgot about us. No checking in, no refills, nothing. I ordered the spicy seafood pasta. It came with 4 shrimp and a generous portion of clams. It was pretty tasty. My hubby got the grilled chicken skewers with savory rice pilaf. It came with 3 small appetizer size skewers, a bowl of yogurt dipping sauce, a scoop of the pilaf that looked and tasted like dog food, and a "salad" of cherry tomatoes and artichoke hearts. It was not worth the $36 it cost. The decor is nice but it was pretty stuffy inside so dress expecting it to be on the warm side.
EDIT: We returned 2 years later and walked out. They appear to have lost their liquor license. We were sat down and no wait staff even greeted us for over 15 minutes (note: it wasn't busy). This place has lost its way. Hope to see it come back one day but we won't be returning anytime soon. We really enjoyed our dinner at Pour House. The staff was kind and the food was tasty. The baby clams in an arrabbiata sauce was particularly delicious as an appetizer.
If you’re looking to pay $40 for 1 of the 10 balls in the Costco $7.99 Buratta with a few sides of flavorless pesto, mushrooms, basil, marinara etc this is your place! After that you can have $40 pasta consisting of plain noodles with some butter sauce- this place was a joke complete with the Italian guy who goes table to table talking to you to make you feel important and not pay attention to the scam going on before your eyes. I don’t do reviews and this is a buyer be ware for restaurants. Just Awful :(
Food was good, the owner/manager was trying to be helpful, but service was very poor (the hostess/server was not friendly, we sat for 10-15 mins with no one coming to us, I had to pour all my own wine,…), the wine list was printed on paper and way over priced ($18 bottle retail priced at $90), the salad while good was $28, and atmosphere was mediocre. Not a place we will be coming back to.
I give them two stars out of sympathy because I didn’t actually try the food. We drove by a couple nights ago and it looked busy, so we wanted to try it! (We now know the crowd of people was actually at the restaurant next door.) Googling it, we saw the unfavorable reviews but still wanted to give it a shot. Run. Don’t even try it. Upon arrival, we checked in at the host stand for our table. She brought us inside and it was HOT. I mean, immediately sweating hot. I don’t know how people were sitting in there. The ambiance inside was dark, and not very welcoming. We opted to sit outside. The table was dirty, but we were sat with plates and waters. Granted, it’s outside, but when we’re spending this kind of money on dinner you’d at least expect a quick wipe down. No menus. Hostess walks by. Still no menu. Walks by three more times. No menus. We decide to run for it as we had already read the reviews about poor service, and had the owner loudly chatting it up and drinking with the table behind us. We were afraid he’d be our waiter, and most of the poor reviews have to do with his service. I applaud anyone who has the patience to try this place because the food looks damn good. We unfortunately did not want to risk it.
We came for dinner and the food was somewhat edible to say the least. The service was exceptional with friendly staff that were very attentive. Ordered chopped antipasto salad and all the meats, cheeses, and other ingredients were chopped so fine except for the greens that I used a spoon to eat it. The salad certainly was missing ingredients or were so finely minced that I didn't taste them...salad was warm too. The entrees we ordered describes all the fine wholesome ingredients used in these dishes but they are lacking. The chicken ravioli dish consisted of six Costco brand frozen raviolis and the filling inside was a creamy glob of chicken. The meatballs are what you get at Costco were not homemade. The red sauce that smothers the pasta is acidic and bitter . The menu reads well and makes your mouth water but the food is Poor quality made with Poor ingredients.
Host greeted us with "our kitchen closes in 30 minutes"....Great start to the first impression. It was 7:30, but restaurant closes at 9 online, and posted at the store. They "just got their liquor license renewed" aka they lost it previously due to someone being under aged...assuming. Asked for a wine list, but they don't have one....a wine bar with no wine list? Server rattled off a few cheap wines theyp have by the glass instead. Great. Besides the rush job service, bad host, the food is excellent!!! Prices are more expensive than the Ritz. It was $34 for Pasta carbonara, protein cost extra...and it was a laughable small portion of pasta. Are we really trying to save food cost on pasta? Most restaurants don't skimp on pasta portions because it's cheap. Jokes asides, my 5-7 bites of pasta carbonara was really good, but the food quality is about the only thing this restaurant has going for them.
In short take a look this picture. Was waiting for long time to make the order, then to get the order. The glass of wine was empty for a long time, the plates are empty, we just want to leave, but no body is even approaching us. Salad was good but other stuff have no desire to even try. Do not recommend this place. We were finally approached by a kind waitress who was from California, after finding out the original person who ignored us was the owner. She was attentive and tried to fix the issues. And we are staying to see if the food is worth the headache of waiting.
Service Blows. Food is good but you pay for it waiting and exceptionally longtime for any aspect of ordering; drinks, apps, entrees… Totally different experience from 2 years ago. Doubt I’ll try it again.
Would give 0 stars if possible. Not allergy friendly. While on our honeymoon, before we placed any orders we alerted the staff that there was a tree nut allergy at the table. Tree nut allergies require an epipen or you no longer live. The server was friendly and let us know he would make a special dish for us and would make sure that that it was safe. He persuaded us to change our appetizer from something we knew had no tree nuts to something “special” he would make. The first dish we were served had pesto- contains tree nuts all over the dish. Luckily we caught it immediately from looking at it but that is unacceptable, especially considering the restaurant was near empty when we placed our order. The staff was very nice but this level of negligence is criminal considering the distance to the nearest hospital. Additionally- I went back to emphasize the importance of ensuring allergy’s are taken seriously. Our table had someone that would have passed away by the time we reached the hospital… only for the server who claimed to be the cook pass the blame on to the kitchen and downplay the seriousness of this issue.
We were excited to try this place as we were staying down the street at the Ritz and wanted a break from seafood. There was a wait for seating despite the reataraunt appearing mostly empty. We were then told the restaraunt lost their liquor license recently and we would be unable to order alcohol, despite their advertisement as serving a lengthy wine menu (part of our interest in coming). While ordering appetizers the owner advised us to order the burrata (not what we had originally wanted at all). We explained that I have an anyphylactic tree nut allergy and cannot eat the majority of the burrata dishes, as they contained either pecans or pesto (with pine nuts). The owner assured us he would bring out a burrata platter that was without tree nuts. They brought out burrata covered in pesto (severely allergic to this). I recognized this immediately. We waited 20 minutes to confirm with a waitress that it was in fact pesto, and then we left. The owner blamed the oversight on the kitchen.
First of all....our side of meatballs were frozen costco cocktail meatballs heated up with sauce. AWFUL. They let their liquor license lapse so the "wine bar" had no wine! However they did offer no corking fee if you brought your own bottle of wine, that is because they did not even open it for you, just laid at the opener on the table. Before we were even done eating, I believe it was the owner and our server, started bringing patio tables into the restaurant to close up for the evening. Terrible experience, Terrible food. DONT GO!!
Staying in the area for the week and decided to check out a local restaurant, as the menu was intriguing. Once seated it took over 10 minutes to be greeted. What appeared to be the manager, eventually came over to take our order. When he returned with our drink order he only brought one of the two drinks and had to ask us again what the second order was. The bright spot of the evening was the food, it was very good. However, once served no one ever came by the table again to check on us. Not sure we had an actual server that night. We waited for about 15-20 minutes and finally had to ask to get the bill. For a smaller sized restaurant, this was surprising. Several other tables had to do the same. It seems like the staff was very green and the manager did not know how to operate a good running restaurant. It was difficult to leave a decent tip due to the lack of service, which is key to any good, dining experience. I would not recommend this restaurant until they can address the service issues.
This place is odd. Tried to go there just for a drink at the bar last night and the hostess said they were full eventhough they clearly were not. We asked if we could sit on the empty patio for a drink and she double checked with the manager, who I guess said no. Very strange place, especially to be called "pour". I see they lost their liquor license, which is fine i guess, but just be honest if you cannot serve alcohol (or beer or wine?...not sure). Great location but odd establishment and will not be back.
