Our food was delicious and the portion were great. We got our food quickly. If you're looking for a Fun cajun style restaurant with great atmosphere this is your place. Family friendly and the prices are reasonable. We were worried about that since there are no prices on the menu. For the 2 of us it was little over $30, not bad. The staff were friendly. Our waitress was sweet and attentive. I would recommend this place. 😊

If you haven’t tried the cobbler here, you are seriously missing out—it’s amazing! Every single thing we’ve ordered, from the rich and flavorful crawfish étouffée to the refreshing drinks, has been spot-on every time. It’s become our go-to spot anytime we’re in town! The lunch specials are a steal—great portions for the price, and perfect for a midday treat. Plus, it’s super kid-friendly, which makes it even better for a family outing. Can’t recommend it enough!

The service and people here are awesome. My wife and I have a good experience every time we eat here. We have tried several things and everything has been very good. The alcohol drinks here are also very good (and some of the names of them are hilarious) if you are looking to grab a drink.

Our friendly and attentive waiter D'Marcus (sorry if the spelling is off--we failed to ask🙃) only added to the excellent lunch we devoured at the Swamp Shack Saturday! Yum-yum times about a million! Especially liked the light and crispy fried pickles, boiled & fried shrimp, and the house made tartar! Our party of 7 was super impressed our orders were taken, entered by memory, and delivered without any issue!! Spot on! Way to deliver 100% customer service, keep it up!

Absolutely incredible experience. As a native New Orleanian, I take my Cajun claims very seriously. These folks were spot on! If you're looking for a great seafood restaurant that specializes in Louisiana type cooking, in the Freeport area, this place is hands down the ideal location.

We had dinner last night at Swamp Shack after fishing at the beach. The food was amazing and so good. The waitress and owner were very friendly and check on us several times. I will be back to enjoy another dinner or lunch next time we head to beach to go fishing.

Oh my, this is one cute little restaurant! The decor is wonderful, you feel like you've stepped right into New Orleans. Our server was very sweet and professional. The food was delicious and quite the selection! The drinks were very good and their dessert is awesome. Definitely recommend this place.

Mostly good experience. Cup of gumbo was a cup of rice with a tablespoon of gumbo ... oysters Rockefeller was a nickel-size oysters covered in toppings. Would go back for fried shrimp & fish.

We haven't been here in about a year and decided to get crawfish today. They were surprisingly good and actually spicy. We haven't been able to find a local place that actually had spicy crawfish until now. We will definitely go back!

If you are thinking about the gumbo, do it. My father in law got it and made me wish I had. The bowl is a generous and filling portion. What I ordered was good but much less memorable TBH.

I may change my review after a second visit but this 3 stars is for flavor alone. The food had an excellent taste. However our appetizer took 40 minutes to arrive and was cold. The table behind us, came in after ate and left as we were just getting our dinners. The squash on both our plates was cold and we got our reheated appetizer back half way threw our dinners. Server was nice but could have handled the situation better. When I told her the oysters Rockefeller were cold she said she watched him cook them. Like I don't know what cold is, or Iam lying or something. It definitely wasn't the proper response to serving customers cold food.

The half shell "fresh" oysters were very fishy smelling and took a lot of lemon, horse radish and hot sauce's to get through. The oyster thing's not hard. Keep them fresh, if you offer them, and make sure they are cleaned correctly when presented to the customer. Fish smell, algae with muscles still on the shell is neither fresh nor clean. The boudin links are fantastic!! Large, well flavored and a reasonable price. The bartender was nice and very attentive. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming. Definitely way more sanitary than a true Cajun Shell Shack with beer. I just can't excuse offering bad food to customers at a price.

Food is inexpensive but not good. Blackened red fish was dry and lacked flavor. Key lime pie is not right. Too thick and undercooked dry crust and a filling that seems to have more gelatin than cream. Just not s good place to eat. Drinks are okay.
