If you are looking for a delicious meal with incredible service in the heart of Lecco look no further! Upon arriving,my Fiance and I were immediately greeted by the owner who welcomed us into his restaurant with a huge smile on his face. The warm hospitality and immaculate service is incredible, and the food is even better. We started with the oysters, had the Paccheri ai Gamberi con pesto di Pistacchio di Bronte e pomodorini confit and Fettucine al ragu di polpo. Each meal was delicious and all paired incredibly well with the bottle of wine that was recommended to us. Trust their recommendations!! The staff is amazing and will not lead you wrong. Thank you again Mamaioa, we will be back next time we’re in Lecco!
We chose Mamaioa Bistrot for my birthday eve dinner, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. From the moment we sat down, the service was the absolute best—attentive, friendly, and truly made the evening feel special. You can tell this is a family-run business because of the warmth and personal touch in every detail. For our main course, we ordered the Chef's special branzino, and it was the star of the show. Weighing an impressive 1.2 kgs, the fish was cooked perfectly in a stunning Mediterranean style with capers, fresh tomatoes, and olives. Every bite was absolutely delicious and incredibly fresh. Paired with a lovely bottle of wine and their fresh-baked bread, it was an impeccable dining experience. We highly recommend Mamaioa Bistrot for an unforgettable meal and truly outstanding service.
We had a realy delicious fish. The service was excellent and of a very high standard. The staff was kind and considerate, and we will definitely come back on our next visit.
The food was amazing. We especially loved the seafood pasta which was al dente and cooked in an extremely flavourful sauce, as well as the grilled octopus which was very fresh and grilled just right. The restaurant also uses very tasty cherry tomatoes in its dishes, and high-quality olive oil. The business lunch set is of great value as you can choose 2 courses (including the grilled octopus) for 29 euros, with a glass of wine, water, and coffee included. Portion sizes were very generous for the price. We also really appreciated that they gave us 3 cookies to complement the coffee, even though only 2 out of 3 of us ordered the business lunch set. Service was excellent - staff were very helpful and prompt in attending to us. Food was served fairly quickly. Highly recommend!

Beautiful restaurant in Lago town center with rec seating on the water. Amazing seafood selection and we love the oysters and seafood pasta. The staff is very friendly and welcoming and we had wonderful wine because the selection is very broad. Highly recommend recommended.
Everyone from the servers to the managers/Owners were excellent, food was also top notch. It was one of our best dining experiences in Italy, and we travel to Italy a lot! Special thanks to the waitress that spoke the best English we’ve come across in Italy with servers.
I discovered this restaurant by chance while exploring the town of Lecco. I was looking for a place to have lunch, and this restaurant caught my attention because it was open and had great reviews. I also noticed that they specialize in seafood and fish, which was exactly what I was craving, so I decided to give it a try. When I arrived, there were no other guests, so the service was fully dedicated to me—and it was excellent! The restaurant has a modern, cozy interior with great music and a wonderful atmosphere. I chose from their brunch menu: a starter with mini octopus and a main course of fish fillet with tomato sauce. Both dishes were absolutely delicious! The presentation was stunning, served on beautiful plates, which immediately highlighted the high level of service and attention to detail. I highly recommend this restaurant, especially for those who love fresh and flavorful fish dishes. A fantastic dining experience!
We had a fantastic New Year's Eve celebration here. The food was absolutely delicious and among the best we've ever had. The staff and owners were incredibly kind, polite, and went above and beyond to ensure we had a wonderful evening. We truly appreciate their efforts and look forward to visiting again!
Amazing restaurant, first of all super tasty food, kitchen specialized in sea food. It is fresh and perfectly seasoned. Big kudos for service, always nice, always smiling and very helpful. Great atmosphere. I will be back for sure and I heartily recommend it.
Let me start by saying, if I could legally marry a bowl of seafood fregola, I'd be sending out wedding invitations right now. This dish was that good. It’s like they scooped up the ocean, added some magic pasta, and served it in a plate, a big one. Every bite made me question why I’ve ever eaten anything else. Another good one recommended by Francisco is the mango passionfruit dessert—a tropical dance party in my mouth. I’m not usually one for fruity desserts, but this one had me contemplating a second stomach. But the real stars of the evening were Francisco and Jacob, our servers. Not only did they serve up the food like pros, but they were also baby whisperers in disguise. My 3-year-old was mesmerized by their antics, giving me a rare and glorious few moments of adult conversation without interruption. If only they offered babysitting on the side!
Wow! Without doubt, up there with the best restaurants I've eaten in. One of our party was veggie and the other GF but nothing was too much trouble. I had the spaghetti vongole and it was superb. Plenty of large clams served in a sauce to die for. All the other dishes received rave reviews from the rest of our party. Special thanks to our waiter, Pablo, who spoke very good English (many apologies for our lack of Italian!), was very friendly and has a great sense of humour (il mio nuovo amico!). He explained all the dishes to us and helped to make the whole experience all the more enjoyable. Thank you so much for giving us all a night to remember! 🙏😋❤️
Went to this restaurant twice in 3 days simply because of the excellent food paired with amazing service by Pablo. He’ll recommend you Italian food cooked in a style you’ve never tried before. His laughter and smile will make you feel welcomed in Lake Como. Overall, this is and will be our go-to place for warm Italian food enjoyed with local Lugana wine. 6 of us had the most amazing food and time in Lecco, Lake como at Mamaioa on our first night and last night.
The restaurant is very elegant. The food is exquisite ❤️ The staff is very friendly and very helpful, the waiter helped us to choose the wine and it was perfect. The price is very reasonable for the quality you get. The new menu is translated into English as well. I want to come back to Lecco and to Mamaioa very soon!
We had the most delightful dinner here just by chance! We didn't have a reservation and it was a busy Saturday night in Feb. a restaurant around the corner couldn't fit us in-but these guys did. Great wine list-incredibly reasonable prices. The seafood was some of the freshest we've had. This is by far a top 5 meal in Italy for us. What an amazing find. Please go and meet these wonderful people. Host and table service were top notch as well!
