We had a great time at Gremio de Brixton: the food was AMAZING (even better than in Spain), the atmosphere both cozy and sophisticated at the same time and the service' even more special. All PERFECTO! A special thank to Jean for being our partner in such an unforgettable experience: we felt like home!
The place is really nice and cosy, friendly and really helpful staff. We had some tapas i have to say that Iberico Jam it was not Bellota original is just Iberico. Croquets not the best ones but ok. But we had a good time, the Cava was really nice and the House wine really nice. Thanks to the Barman Enrico. 😘
Had a lovely Valentine’s dinner here last night with my boyfriend, and we were really impressed! The set menu had great options, and everything we ordered was delicious. The drinks were also spot on, and the whole atmosphere was just, cosy, relaxed, and really well put together. On top of that, the service was friendly, and made the whole evening even better. Definitely a place we’d come back to!
Lovely place under a church in a crypt. The staff were lovely, the Spanish beer was one of the best beers I've tasted. The place itself is very warm and cozy lots of places to sit, a nice ambient night to get you in the mood. On Saturday they have a salsa night which is cool. The only down sides I had was when I came out of the place walking around the corner druggies all in the church arch ways trying to sell you crack. If this was sorted this bar would be outstanding to all who enjoys a very quite espanic romantic night, the Spanish beers are £4.20 per scoon which is just over a half of a pint, worth it though, cocktails are very exspensive but again worth every penny. I just want to say a massive thank you to the two waitors and Bar staff, explaining althe diffrent kinds of Spanish beers. Will deffently come back here again.
My family and I went for Saturday brunch. The Brunch menu was fabulous with filling portion sizes. Highly recommend the Bread and Olive Oil, it was to die for. All the staff were accommodating and courteous. The restaurant was wonderfully atmospheric. Will definitely eat there again.
Six delicious dishes between two people plus four premium drinks for under £100 with service is excellent value in London. The service was friendly, helpful, and attentive, the food fresh and sensibly proportioned. And while the cavernous crypt in which we ate was pretty full on a Friday night, at no time did it feel overtly loud and claustrophobic. Definitely worth a visit, recommended.
Really great food and great value for money. We went on a Thursday evening and it was a bit quiet but can imagine there is a great atmosphere when it’s a bit busier. Tapas can get a bit expensive but we were really impressed that we had such a great meal (and a couple of sangrias/beers each) for about £45 per person. Will definitely be back.
Looking for great tapas? Look no further than this piece of Spain in the heart of Brixton. This place ticks all the boxes with a great selection of vegetarian and vegan choices too - more than we could order so heading back soon. Grab a bottle of Rioja and order away. The food was delicious. 💃 🇪🇸🍷👍
Some of the best vegetarian Tapas I have had in a long time. Though a lot of the vegetable options were deep fried. I judge a tapas place on the tortilla and this tortilla was fresh and gooey with a crisp exterior which was lovely. We over ordered 6 dishes for 2 people, i would have said 4 dishes would have been enough for us. Service was lovely and attentive. We booked for a 7pm reservation on a Friday and we were only one of 3 seated tables. However by 7:30/45 the place was full. We paid £60 for 2 people and no alcohol. Though we could have ordered less for sure.
Last night, my boyfriend and I celebrated Valentine’s Day at Gremio de Brixton, and we had an amazing time! The atmosphere was cosy and intimate, perfect for the occasion. The service was spot on , the staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, with well-prepared and flavourful tapas. The drinks were also fantastic, really well made. It was a great experience, and we’ll definitely be back. Highly recommend!
How about enjoying authentic Spanish dishes in the magical atmosphere of a church crypt??? ABSOLUTELY UNMISSABLE experience! Simply exceptional food, cocktails, wines and sangria that will blow your mind, very kind staff, impeccable and ready to advise you and pamper you at all times, INCREDIBLE atmosphere, with soft lights and candles that make the environment, with its exposed brick vaults really impressive, unmissable music and events every week… What do you want more??? I'm MADLY IN LOVE with Gremio De Brixton… a true GEM that you too will want to come back to 1,000 times! 🍽 FOOD and DRINKS: perfect balance between tradition, seasonality and contemporaneity 💡 ENVIRONMENT: very suggestive, in the crypt of a church where the soft lights make everything even more magical 💰 PRICE: medium 👨🍳 STAFF/SERVICE: all the staff are wonderful! Ask for Samia and Alexandra… a GUARANTEE OVERALL… you'll love it!
A friend invited me here for a meal, before I set off abroad and I have to say this is a great place to have your Spanish Tapas fix, what made it even better was that we ate outside as it was a very hot day. We had several different tapas and my favorite is the Pulpo A La Parrilla Con Sobrsada, which is the marinated grilled octopus with potatoes and onions. I also had a magarita drink to go with the tapas. The prices can be a bit expensive for having dishes, especially if you order lots, but no denying you are having a great taste of Spanish dishes.
My favourite place for tapas in SW! The food, drinks, and service are always great and I love that there’s such a variety of dishes. I’d recommend the berenjenas!!
The interior makes you indulge in the Spanish experience, food is delicious and the virgin mojito was one of the best I've had in a long time. The Fillet and manchego cheese 💕
Such a great spot! Initially reserbed inside expecting rain, but when it was warm and dry we were seated outside by the team with absolutely no problems. Food was absolutely delicious - the kind where every mouthful you eat you feel the need to tell everyone else at the table at just how good it is. Drinks menu was varied and really good - our party can vouch for the sangria, house red and the sherry! Service was excellent- fast, friendly and warm, and the atmosphere was perfect. Will definitely be coming back again and again! Thank you
I recently visited for dinner and had a great time. The place has a really nice vibe, and we didn’t have to wait long at all. The food was super tasty, with lots of options to choose from. Plus, the drinks were awesome and well-made. Definitely a spot I’d recommend if you’re looking for a good meal and a good time!
Had an amazing night celebrating a birthday at Gremio .The atmosphere was fantastic, and the staff were so welcoming. A special shoutout to the manager for the birthday shots, it really made the night even more special. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to. Highly recommend.Thank you
Had a lovely birthday night, the Gremio’s staff were kind, attentive and created a lovely atmosphere to celebrate. Food was amazing and the gracious bar staff were quick and generous with drinks. Couldn’t recommend more! Thank you for the birthday surprise!!
My fave restaurant in Brixton. Vibey, super cool church aesthetic & really nice tapas.
Lovely decor and atmosphere. The service was friendly and prompt. The menu has all the classic tapas, plus some more modern twists on favourites. Everything we had was presented well and full of flavour. Drinks menu has a lovely selection of delicious cocktails and sangrias .
Really enjoyed the tapas here, super interesting menu with a lot of variety compared to other tapas restaurants. The highlight dish was the steak with chimichurri - very tasty. Very large space as well so didn’t feel crammed at all. Also finished a dinner with reasonable bill for once !
I love this place, it's a must every weekend for the club, and weeknights for a light bite. Great cocktails, great vibe and such a unique location! Have taken all my friends here, deffo recommend.
Top night. First time. Menu was outstanding, though there were a couple of items missing on the evening but we’ll be back to try them! Dj was great later too
Outstanding restaurant experience, the food was unreal, every dish we ordered was perfect. Absolutely rammed with flavour. Would highly recommend! Booked a table for 8pm on a Friday, great time as the tables started to fill up shortly after we arrived. Tables are spaced nicely so even if it’s packed you don’t feel like you’re squeezed in.
Loved loved loved our dinner here last night. The food was so good, the servers were so attentive and lovely. The place is so cool; the low vaulted ceilings and all the decor is just such a vibe.
Oh My God! Please come here. Every dish was exceptional. We had the prawns, octopus, chicken thighs, lamb chops and steak and we found ourselves continuously looking at the menu for the next plate! Atmosphere and service was also top tier. Thank you to Bastian and Shervin for looking after us. Will definitely be back
Served by the lovely young lady named Nia. A delightful waitress, pleasant who made my experience all the more wonderful. Food was tasty, cocktails were fab, will be back again
Good food and professional staff made for a relaxing and enjoyable visit. The only thing stopping this from 5* is the setting; having to dine outside when you know how it looks inside the crypt makes you feel like you're missing out but I'll be returning again so will experience that next time.
Really nice place! The vibe is incredible: it’s places inside of a church and the kept all the original walls; great for those who wants just to have fun with couple of drinks and for those who love the Spanish cuisine. Tapas delicious and very tasted. Not too much choice for the wine. Stuff friendly, but in a rush on closing time.
Food is good, but they forgot my main and my dessert. DJ on a Saturday is terrible, if you hate 2000s pop, then I advise going on a different day. It ruins the vibe of the dark gothic atmosphere. Once we got the paella, it was really delicous. I never received my dessert but decided to leave it. I'll definitely be coming back to try again on a different day.
We spotted this place by chance on our way to the Electric Brixton and we noticed this cute place on the side of a church and we stopped by! We ordered 3 tapas and paid 19£. Tortillas, croquettes de jamon and salad and everything was absolutely delicious with the perfect afternoon summer vibes!
Very good food and drinks! Went for dinner and came back for the party. Great place Service was a bit slow for dinner, but otherwise, recommend!
Delicious food. Great atmosphere. Music was a bit loud making conversation in a naturally echoey crypt a bit difficult. Everyone was trying to shout above the background noise this making it worse. Menu font is tiny on brown paper so bring your glasses or photo with your phone.
Truth be told I'm not a massive fan of tapas. Too often I find them pretty basic, samey and overpriced. Paying £10 for a handful of padron peppers is not my idea of a good time. So I reluctant to try this place. However I was impressed by the flavour of the dishes and the evident care that went into the dishes. Croquetas that weren't just bland stodgy potato with bits of chorizo but gooey, unctuous and taste full of complexity. Patatas bravas that were both crispy and fluffy inside of flabby starch covered with a basic red sauce. Pretty much all done she's were cooked to a level that I don't necessarily encounter too often with tapas. Good simple cooking down well. The location is also gorgeous - in a converted crypt of a church - which adds a romantic element to the surroundings. If booked via first table this becomes really good value.
We were very disappointed with what should have been a very special night for our first Valentine's Day together. Firstly, we were sat in the cold part of the restaurant where we were shivering for a lot of the evening, despite asking to move to the warmer part where there was clearly space. Then the food, while good, took ages to arrive and in a random order. For example, the dessert churros arrived before half of the main dishes had arrived, meaning that they were cold by the time we got round to eating them and they were inedible. We were really looking forward to the padron peppers, which we were belatedly told had run out, and were to be replaced with arancini. We were then later told that the arancini had now run out too, and that was replaced with broccoli, hardly an equivalent substitute. The pork belly arrived so late that it was stone cold yet still overcooked. Nearby tables had similar complaints and were very unimpressed too. I raised all these issues with a member of staff, who merely shrugged and said that that's to be expected, and refused any form of an apology or discount. Not happy, and left a sour note on what should have been a great night.
Came here for Valentine’s Day. Wish we hadn’t bothered. Hoped for a romantic evening and a fine-dining experience but was met with neither. Massively underwhelming and much of the food was clearly purchased at a supermarket and re-plated as their own. Honestly would’ve had a better night and saved some money if we’d gone to Wetherspoons. Do not eat here!
If I could give no stars I would. I took my partner here for Valentine’s Day and the food was terrible. We had to accept there set menu and ended up asking them to stop bringing out the food and take money of the bill instead. A few low lights include: the cured meat selection which was definitely from Tesco (nobody denied this when we asked), the undercooked patatas bravas that we sent back and came out again immediately, this time without seasoning and just as undercooked. They poured sauce on to excess. Then the goats cheese which was battered seemed from a shop too and defrosted. Not to mention the peppers which had zero seasoning and flavour and which we would have never chosen to order. When we complained our (very kind) waitress alerted the manger who was very rude. He tried to say that the meat selection was from the same ‘Spanish supplier’ as Tesco and was refusing a discount. When we pursued this he accepted one meal off as he was scared of the word ‘Tesco’ being said so loudly in the restaurant. The last thing I have to say is that this same manager implied that we should have a fight outside instead when I complained for the terrible food. Don’t not eat here.
