Although it’s a steakhouse, I ordered fish and it was cooked to perfection, also don’t miss the oysters, they’re packed with flavor and wonderfully tender. Lovely staff 🤗 I’d recommend this spot for a besties night out, a romantic date, or even a relaxed family outing. The outdoor seating has a beautiful view and ambiance.
Came here for my birthday with my husband. We tried Sunday roast and it did not disappoint. For starters, we had the bone marrow and it was good especially with cracked salt on sourdough bread. We had the rump roast beef (Sunday roast), I ordered mine pink and my husband well done. Mine was so tender, melts in your mouth experience. It had a nice portion of fat which I really liked. They also granted our request for extra gravy. Delicious food. The staff are all very friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere great. Location impeccable. Their toilet facilities well maintained, clean which is really important. They gave me a complimentary sorbet with candle as it was my birthday, really thoughtful touch. Thank you Hawksmoor for the amazing experience.
You rarely get disappointed by Hawksmoor in London. The spot in Canary Wharf respects that. Atmosphere is great while “boarding” the barge. We took the Sunday roast option with our choice of cuts and I have to say that both 1kg cuts were amazing. Meat was so tender and tasty. Béarnaise and pepper sauces were the cherry on the cake. The pudding is very perfectible despite the good gravy served with but all the rest was perfect. I recommend! It’s not cheap but quality does not disappoint. There is also good wines menu. We took a bloody marry and Chianti to pair with our lunch and both were good complements!
25-10-2025 1630 Visited as a pre-show dinner. The setting, atmosphere was lively but relaxed, and service was impeccable. Always someone there to top up your wine/water and a good time between courses. Both wife and I had the 'Potted Beef and Bacon' where the yorkshires were clearly made in-house; amazing! - although it took a few moments to best work out how to eat it. Fillet for main, perfectly rare as requested. Well rested and seasoned. The ONLY thing I could criticise was the chips were well over salted however, after a couple of glasses of wine, it wasn't worth asking for replacement. We also had desserts and cocktails... a real feast and will definitely be retuning.
I’ve been to Hawksmoor in Dublin and London a couple of times and always love the food and customer service. Our visit to Hawksmoor Wood Wharf yesterday was no different. The bone marrow with onion was a fantastic starter, and the steaks were good even without the sauces. The creamed spinach and garlic mushrooms were great sides. We enjoyed the meal with red wine and finished it with ice cream and sorbet. Good food, great customer service, and reasonable prices.
I had a fantastic experience at Hawksmoor Canary Wharf. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. The atmosphere is stylish yet relaxed, with stunning views that make it feel like a special place to unwind. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection – tender, flavourful and clearly top quality. Everything felt thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. It’s the kind of restaurant that’s perfect for celebrations, treating someone special, or simply enjoying a memorable meal. I left already looking forward to my next visit. Highly recommend!
We love coming here and were so happy when our friends booked the table for a lunch for a catch up. The food and meat is always of excellent quality but their Yorkshire Puddings are the best I’ve ever had. And don’t get me started on the stuffing… could eat a bowl of that to myself. Cannot wait to return for a roast and a Shaky Pete.
Definitely our most expensive meal ever but well worth it. The braised marrow bone onions with toasted sourdough bread was flavoursome. The oysters in a sweet and spicy sauce 😋 The t-bone steaks (pay per weight) could have been more tender but was tasty nontheless. The Sunday roast and the desserts were perfect. Would I go again...yes if prices were lower.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Had a really great evening at Hawksmoor Water Street. Rachel looked after us so well — friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The food was excellent from start to finish, especially the steaks and sticky toffee pudding. Lovely atmosphere and a place you leave feeling happy and well looked after. Thank you — we’ll definitely be back
What can I say? We had the best dining experience after long time. Food was superb, atmosphere was amazing but most we really enjoyed the fantastic customer service provided by Palas. This lady made sure our experience was brilliant from the beginning until the end, you can tell she loves her job and she is passionate about it! See you very soon
I missed out on a set-menu deal due to my booking time, but I stayed for the full-price experience and it didn't disappoint. Hawksmoor is my gold standard for steak - both the meat and the sides were delicious. The service was great and the atmosphere made the splurge feel well worth it. The only downer was the 'Nogroni' mocktail, which didn't quite capture the flavor of the real thing. However overall, well worth the treat!
Wonderful Saturday lunchtime at Hawkesmore. Started with the potted beef which was a bit big…. But very tasty. Especially the gravy, although maybe the Yorkshire’s could benefit from a bit of seasoning? The rump steak was fab, much more flavourful than I expected, with the red wine and bone marrow sauce being perfect. The chips were on point as well, glass like exterior and fluffy interior. The sticky toffee was average, but whatever, I don’t mind. Absolutely recommend and can’t wait to go back for Sunday lunch
Been seeing a lot about the lunch menu, so decided to try. We visited on a Thursday and it was busy, nice to see so many people out mid January. We ordered the beef and Yorkshire pudding to start, this was delicious but the portions are huge, so could only eat half of it (not complaining). I then had the steak which was cooked to perfection as were the chips. Will definitely visit again I’d like to add that I was dining with a friend who loves eating but couldn’t finish any of her dishes, the waitress was very understanding and packed up her food so she could take home.
Excellent restaurant combines with service and food. Especially for the chips, it is one of the best chips around the world. Very crunchy and fluffy inside, you can just eat it without source, it's already very delicious. Ordered fillet steak and carpaccio, it's tasty and juice, but not very tender. And the big Mac worth to have a try too, it's a total upgrade🤣. Definitely worth to come here again for the chips.
Wow ! What an amazing experience! Loved the atmosphere and the interior, very large with two floors and bars. The food was absolutely amazing ! The steak was probably the best I have ever had in my life was cooked exactly how I enjoy steak, the sides and condiments with the steak were also very delicious! Would definitely return in the near future. Thanks !
One of the best meat chains not in the UK also in the world. I'm sure you will enjoy whatever you choose. My favorite was the sirloin.
Definitely one of the best steaks I’ve had by far, bone marrow was beautiful, beef dripping chips were perfect the service was great no complaints whatsoever! They even gave free dessert for my birthday! Would definitely recommend to steak lovers. Will be coming back for more!
We ordered the Sunday roast and bone marrow oysters as starters. Loved the oysters, really fresh and had good flavours. Sunday roast was served on a hot plate which was greatly appreciated, everything on the plate was fantastic other than the potatoes which were slightly hard on the outside. However, when we brought it up to the staff, they promptly gave a feedback to the kitchen and even offered us a sticky toffee pudding on the house as a compensation. Really appreciated the good service and would highly recommend the Sunday roast to anyone coming here!
Went with a friend for the sunday roast. Huge portions and very tasty. Great service too even though it was very busy. For the roast and a glass of prosecco I paid about £45 which I think is decent considering portion size (I struggled to finish it), location, brand name and service. Well worth it!
This place amazing. The steak is one of my favourites I’ve had so far and would definitely go again. Restaurant is really nice aesthetically and waiters were nice as well
Every dish at this high end eatery in Canary Wharf is exceptional, there's no bad choice and the attentive, helpful service matches the cuisine, exceptional. It's location and atmosphere make this a must-go in London.
We had a fantastic experience at this restaurant while celebrating my boyfriend’s birthday! The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a great location that added to the overall charm. The food was absolutely delicious, and the steak was cooked to perfection—tender, flavorful, and exactly how we wanted it. Every dish we tried was well-prepared and beautifully presented. The service was also excellent, making the night even more special. We’ll definitely be returning and highly recommend.
Where do I start? Firstly Marius and his team are outstanding. I think the best service I have EVER had in London. The venue is the dream on a sunny summers day. The terrace and the water make you feel like you are on holiday. The quality of the porterhouse steak was exceptional. Cooked to perfection. The rose wine and cocktails were a cut above the rest. Just wow! Marius and team you aced it! Go go go!
The Sunday roasts here are cracking with their tender beef and buttered greens. And we all know we judge a roast by its Yorkshire pud and gravy and you won’t be disappointed. You might as well add on the cheesy cauliflower while you’re at it and a little sticky toffee to seal the deal. We’re rolling out of here so let’s own it. It’s a refined pub atmosphere so you can dress a bit nicer without having to try too hard and if you laugh a little louder, no one will side eye you.
Amazing restaurant. I was together with my colleagues for business dinner there. All dishes were very delicious and service quality was very good also. Thanks.
Wonderful place and easy location...the food was delicious and the service was incredible, especially from Claudia, Pietro and Ardit...we were very pleased and will visit again.
Absoletuly fantastic place. The meat was perfectly cooked - tender. The staff was attentive , the atmosphere was cozy making a good spot for dinners
Incredible food, had the lunch menu deal and very good value. Peanut butter shortbread was heavenly!
Wow! What an amazing experience. Our waitress, Pallas was incredible! She was so polite and welcoming as soon as we sat down and continued it throughout the whole experience, at the start she talked us through the menu and to finish, even though we told her we didn’t want dessert, she prepared a plate for us with shots as it was a birthday reservation. Can’t fault the food and drinks were lovely. I have never received service this good before and do hope that she gets recognised for her efforts and kindness.
The steak, macaroni cheese, and bone marrow were all delicious. The staff were friendly and very informed about the food, helping advise when asked. The decor is beautiful and it's not too noisy. Shout out to Gerald for giving us free chocolates as well!
Thoroughly enjoyed - possibly our best experience so far at Hawksmoor. We visited last month on a trip to London before a gig at the O2 on a Saturday night. I would say booking is essential - had we not had a reservation, I don't think we would have got a table. We chose to eat from the "pre-theatre set menu" which we felt was very good value, especially for London. My husband had the potted beef & bacon as his starter which was a generous portion and he really enjoyed it. We both had the rump steak with chips for our main and we also each treated ourselves to a sauce. We went for our server's recommendation with how to have our steaks cooked and they were absolutely perfect. I then had the sticky toffee sundae for dessert which was delicious. Highly recommend. The service was excellent. Very attentive. A good gap between the main and dessert. Despite it being so busy, we didn't feel rushed. Literally our only niggle was the fact that the entrance foyer was often crowded due to it also been access to the cloakroom and it made getting downstairs to the toilets a bit challenging at times. Otherwise a wonderful experience and we would return.
We booked via Google (The Fork) for two. Jess, the host, was polite and professional, seating us as requested. Our waiter explained the menu well, though service slowed once he got busy and another team member took our order professionally. Food was excellent: fries to start, ribeye steaks with Caesar salad, all perfectly cooked. Peppercorn sauce was very good, though the Béarnaise tasted more like cold herb mayonnaise. Dessert service was disappointing—our waiter was hard to find, we waited 10–15 minutes, and eventually skipped it. Overall, great food and atmosphere, but service needs consistency.
Hawksmoor Canary Wharf delivers a polished, high-performing dining experience in an excellent Docklands location. The staff are exceptional – attentive, confident, and operating with genuine service discipline. The fillet steak was cooked perfectly – technically flawless – though just a touch too salty for purists. A minor miss, not a deal-breaker. Beer arriving in a can remains an acquired taste – contemporary, yes; charming, debatable. The lasting memory, however, is cultural rather than culinary – £12 for two Yorkshire puddings and gravy! As a Northerner on a business trip, that figure will live rent-free in my head for some time. London premiums are alive, well, and thriving. Bottom line – premium execution, strong brand delivery, and a memorable visit, if not always for the reasons intended.
Overall, it was a decent experience at Hawksmoor. We had booked the set menu well in advance, but when we arrived we were told it had been discontinued. However, the staff were accommodating and helped us sort everything out, but it took a bit of back and forth with the staff. The set menu deal is still showing online, so it might be worth removing it so people don’t book it 🤷🏻♀️
Very good options for Food and drinks. £69 Malbec was on their list was really worth the price and the chicken dish was quite a big piece to finish. They got us an extra side of Chips, I informed the server and he said it was fine, only to see it added to our bill (was removed after we pointed it out). The service definitely was super slow and we had a hard time getting water or reordering Wine or dessert. Definitely need more servers especially for their price point.
Visited last summer. The steaks were phenomenal and the service was second to none. They saw us peering through the window to the wine room and offered us a little tour which was nice. Little things like a cloakroom and our waitress keeping our glasses topped up was nice. However the £60 bottle of Prosecco was not worth the money and the sides were a little disappointing. It was also very loud.
The restaurant caught my attention as it is a floating establishment situated in the heart of Canary Wharf, with glass surroundings that is very inviting. We were accommodated without a prior reservation and was easily seated at a table for two. The receptionist was very welcoming, and throughout the evening I can genuinely attest that the staff were polite, helpful, and friendly. The décor here is somewhat dark, featuring mahogany wood and dark green finishes, which I find somewhat traditional in contrast to the neighbouring buildings and other restaurants in the area; however, this may be an intentional design choice. The lighting is soft, contributing to an overall subdued ambiance. Food was served promptly. The staff remained attentive throughout the evening. My partner ordered a steak cooked well done but received a steak that was overcooked and commented that it was overly seasoned, tasting salty. This issue was addressed immediately, and he was served a freshly prepared meal, including a steak cooked to his preference. My main chicken dish was very tasty, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The prices are slightly high for the portion sizes, but it was enough to satisfy the appetite. We felt comfortable to chat for an hour after our meal without any pressure to vacate the table, which is a common at many other restaurants. I would recommend Hawksmoor — the staff are excellent, and the food is indeed delicious.
Spacious venue witth great views. Sunday roast was nice, good portions. Decent cuts of meat, overall still prefer the a la carte menu. Dessert was stand out item - Chocolate anglaise (changed coffee ice cream to clotted cream ice cream).
Tried the £19 Jan deal steak and chips Steak quality poor and very fatty hard to eat, but kinda guessed they wouldnt give a good cut for the price, will try their normal steak as heard good things. Also try their sticky toffee pudding its delicious
Steak was done wonderfully, definitely medium rare as requested. The only thing is, for the price (£51 for a sirloin) you don’t get any sides at all included. No chips no salad, just plain steak. Chips and fries are priced at £7 per small pot, so the only thing I would say is portion size and the price you pay isn’t relative, but to be expected with a place that classes itself as a more expensive restaurant. Overall not a bad experience but for what we got, it felt very overpriced.
Disappointing experiences with Hawksmoor in London are quite rare, and the Canary Wharf branch upholds this reputation. The atmosphere is superb, especially when enjoying the barge experience. We opted for the Sunday roast with our preferred cuts, and I can confidently say that both 1kg portions were outstanding. The meat was incredibly tender and full of flavour. Béarnaise and pepper sauces complemented the dishes perfectly. The dessert could see some improvement; however, aside from the excellent gravy served, everything else was immaculate. I highly recommend this venue. While it isn’t cheap, the quality certainly justifies the price. The wine list is impressive too. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a Chianti to accompany our meal, both of which paired very nicely with the dishes.
Top tip: Avoid Hawksmoor and go somewhere else for your Sunday roast! It felt more like a Harvester chain pub lunch than a good quality restaurant! The Sunday roast looked good on the plate but was a huge disappointment 😞. As most of the elements are prepared and 'constructed' to order nothing seemed fresh or just from the oven with the whole meal feeling just luke warm. Potatoes felt like they cooked the day before and reheated (which they obviously were) , carrots over cooked, and the cauliflower cheese (a £7 extra) was bland with small florets and mozzarella to give a cheese upll effect which seemed to be used to hide the fact it has no taste. One highlight was the gravy which made the meal edible. If you are into having loads of noisy childish around you, this also may be not the place to be as it was full of them!
Big disappointment! I love hawksmoor, the staff are brilliant and the steaks are great but on this occasion I went for the big Matt burger and I was really disappointed. There was no seasoning no flavor hardly any sauce and the bun was cut rather lazily. I was shocked and it just felt like a total lack of care at what was coming out of the kitchen. I mean there was no salt on the patties. Will be back because I love it here but wanted to point out the burger 😫
Disappointing experience at Hawksmoor Canary Wharf. For a high-end steakhouse that is supposed to specialize in steak, the execution of the mains was incredibly poor. The meal started on a high note. The starters were great, especially the potted beef & bacon, highly recommended, and was the highlight of the lunch. Service was also good as the staff were professional and attentive. The mains where well it fell apart. We ordered two of the Chateaubriand, requesting medium-rare for both. As you can see from the photos, it arrived significantly overcooked, leaning much closer to medium well. For a premium, lean cut like Chateaubriand, this mistake completely ruins the texture and flavor. There was a massive "grey band" through the meat and almost no pink left in the center. It also came very heavily seasoned which overpowered the meat completely. It’s unacceptable for a specialist establishment to miss the mark this badly on a signature cut. You come here for the steak, and if the kitchen can’t hit a basic medium-rare, the rest doesn't matter. A 1-star rating reflects the poor outcome of the mains which should have been the star of the show.
I booked Hawksmoor as a special surprise dinner for my boyfriend’s birthday, my expectations were high. The man working on the front door welcoming guests was amazing, could not fault him. For mains we had 2 medium rare sirloin steaks, creamed spinach, and mac and cheese. The steaks were nothing special, mine was quite fatty and chewy and they tasted bland to be honest. The peppercorn sauce was lovely though, and you get a big portion. The mac and cheese was nice but not that cheesy… it just tasted again bland and not all that. The creamed spinach was lovely. We didn’t order dessert; the service was slow and I had to go up and ask for our bill and the table to be cleared, by the time I had gone to the toilet the bill still hadn’t arrived. The waiter seemed to deal with every other table in his section before us, even though we had been sitting with dirty plates. They brought over some chocolates and a candle on the house, which was a nice touch but the server lacked any emotion at all so it just felt awkward and then he walked off again and we still hadn’t had the bill. For a restaurant with a very high standard and reputation, not to mention the high price point too, we were disappointed and I would not recommend at all. Perhaps we just had a bad night, but this has put us off returning to or recommending any Hawksmoor branch!
We chose this restaurant for a special anniversary dinner, having heard nothing but rave reviews from my partner, who has visited this branch before and others several times without ever being disappointed. Expectations were high, and we were genuinely excited. The evening started well. Starters were excellent — oysters and scallops were both beautifully done and set a great first impression. Unfortunately, things began to unravel after that. Once our starters were cleared, there was a long wait for mains — around 40 minutes — to the point where we had to check that our order hadn’t been missed, particularly as several different servers attended our table. When my main arrived, the issue was immediately noticeable. My 359g fillet steak (£57) was tepid — the kind of temperature you’d expect when finishing a dish rather than when it first arrives. On comparing it with my partner’s steak, which was significantly hotter, we asked for a replacement. Then there was the bone marrow side - mine arrived lukewarm and clearly undercooked. The marrow was pale and opaque rather than translucent and glossy, with a firm, grainy texture that was difficult to spoon, when it should be soft and melted. Comparing it with my partner’s confirmed the difference again in taste and the temperature difference. (For clarity, I’ll be adding a photo of the bone marrow. While the images don’t fully capture the issue due to low lighting and my phone’s auto settings, the problem was very clear in person.) After explaining to the waitors they took both the inedible bone marrow and unpleasant steak back. At this point, the service noticeably shifted. The response from the waiting staff felt increasingly complacent, I of course had to wait for the food again whilst my partner insisted we share from his plate. When the bone marrow arrived, it was piping hot but still undercooked. We tried to show the waiter the difference between the properly cooked marrow and the undercooked one, but it felt as though he wasn’t listening. He acknowledged it briefly, then quickly removed both plates — including the only cooked portion we were actually enjoying. We tried to call him back to explain that one serving was fine, but he continued on without engaging. My replacement steak eventually arrived and was cooked well, but by then the moment had passed, we were roughly 1.5 hours into the evening, after such a long wait my appetite and enjoyment was gone, and we asked for the bill. The bill was placed on the table without explanation. We had to work out ourselves whether items had been removed (one steak and the bone marrow, around £69). Even after these adjustments, the total was still around £190. We paid in cash and waited for our change, which never arrived. What made the experience particularly disappointing wasn’t just the food — kitchen issues can happen — but how we were made to feel when raising reasonable concerns. It felt as though politely explaining genuine problems was an inconvenience rather than something taken seriously. For a restaurant of this reputation and price point, this was a deeply disappointing experience and not the standard we expected.
